with legal counsel existing litigation student discipline matters public employee appointment high school and junior high assistant principals and public employee discipline dismissal release pursuant to education code 44951 the board authorized the superintendent or his designee to release a certificated management employee identified by employee number 26229 effective june 30th 2022 and reassigned to a certificated position with the following vote bridge cruz no

shaffer and gagne voting yes no further action was taken which requires public disclosure leading the pledge of allegiance tonight is mr naw can i have a parent uh with a flag come up to the podium so everybody could see the flag thank you for bringing flag by the way thank you okay let's the begin of the united states of

america and to the republic for what it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and just for all thank you we are now on to item 1c staff report local control and accountability plan lcap mid-year update and supplement to the annual update for the 2021-2022 lcap tonight's staff report is presented by dr grace park president gagne members of the board

superintendent enfield cabinet and community recently assembly bill 130 added a new requirement for school districts to present a mid-year update to our local control and accountability plan and federal education relief programs by february 28th at a regularly scheduled board meeting as such our report this evening will look different than our presentations in the back in the past which were

organized into smaller chunks of lcap updates throughout the year our report this evening will be comprehensive and will be divided into three parts an overview of the components of the one-time supplement to the annual update for the 2122 lcap a summary of the additional funding that will be added to the 22 2022 budget overview for parents and the progress of all available

lcap metrics actions services and expenditures that are identified in the lcap the supplement to the annual update is one time and it summarizes the district's progress of expending the additional funds that were not included in the lcap but are intended to address the impact of covet 19 on our schools the supplement addresses five prompts and the plan is included as an

informational item in the board agenda and will be added to the 22 23 l cap the second part of the report is to provide you with an update on the funding that was provided through the budget act of 2021 this mid-year report captures three funding streams which will be added to the 2223l cap and budget overview for

parents they include the educator effectiveness block grant the elementary and secondary school relief fund also known as sr3 and the expanded learning opportunities grant also known as the elo chino valley has three lcap goals and our report for the last part today is going to be to give you a mid-year update again on all three lcap goals

metrics actions and services we will begin this evening with our report from luke hackney our director of elementary curriculum and instruction who will provide you with an update on our progress with lcap goal one it will be followed by dr sherry johnson who will provide you with an update for lcap goal 2 and dr julian rodriguez will end our

presentation today with our progress toward lcap goal 3. lcap goal 1 is for all students and states that all students are provided a high quality teaching and learning environment the metrics for goal 1 are considered local metrics and are reported as met not met or not met for two years there are eight annual measurable outcomes to evaluate our progress of

goal one as you can see we have met the desired outcome on four the technology refresh and instructional technology survey results are in progress and will be completed by the end of the year an update on the implementation of state standards will be provided at an upcoming board meeting and we are still in process of administering our

essential standards assessments this year there are 15 actions identified in lcap goal 1. on this on this slide column 1 indicates the actions followed by the budgeted amount then the estimated actuals through the end of january and the last column reflects our implementation up through january with each action action one addresses staff attending recruitment fairs staff has participated in two

recruitment fairs and is scheduled to attend nine more by april 21st action 2 addresses library support with teacher librarians at the high schools and media technicians at the elementary and secondary school sites staffing is in progress as there is a need to hire one more secondary media technician action three addresses teacher support for for our beginning teachers

by june thirtieth we are projected to have forty teachers who will be fully com fully credentialed and will have completed the new teacher training program action 4 addresses up-to-date instructional materials this is in progress and will be completed by june 30th with a bulk of the resources going to new tech science textbooks for k-12 action 5 addresses supplemental

instructional materials for our new k-12 moderate severe programs and this is in progress and will be completed by june 30th action six is our instructional coaches that support our classroom teachers and for this item the staffing is complete action seven is professional development for all staff we've had limited offerings for professional development and our professional development that is

traditionally held during the school day has been put on hold due to a sub substitute shortage action 8 student enrollment in all required areas of study while there is no cost associated it requires staff oversight to ensure students are ready to advance to the next grade level or course and this is in progress and will continually be in

progress the next action is the gate enrichment program this is in progress and will be completed by june 30th as our school sites are continuing to provide opportunities for our gifted students action 10 elementary music program staffing is complete for this action action 11 our cte or career technical education pathways at our high schools and our rop programs and staff at our

high schools is in progress and will be completed by june 30th action 12 is our staffing for our preschool inclusion program and for this item the staffing is complete action 13 maintaining our technology refresh program this is to address our technology refresh program it is in progress and will be completed by april thirtieth action fourteen our deferred maintenance program ensures

that routine maintenance items are done at all of our facilities and this has been completed action 15 is pilot instructional technology program and this is done through our tech exploration committee who provides recommendations on technology resources that will prom that will support our classroom teachers and this is in progress and will be completed by april 29th this concludes our update on goal one

[Music] goal number two students parents families and staff are connected and engaged to their school to ensure student success for goal two there are eight metrics that we utilize to assess our progress in terms of those met we have met the california healthy kids survey we also have met graduate graduation rates and our suspension and expulsion rates we met

partially met is our dropout rates there was an increase in the junior high school rates and a decrease in high school rates but i want to be sure that we haven't have a common understanding of what this is dropout rates account for those students that have moved perhaps to another country or they're in a private school and we're no

longer able to locate them because they're not enrolled in aries so due to the pandemic we did not meet the metrics for our year-end attendance and chronic absenteeism the school quality survey is currently in progress and the state reflection tool has not been started as it will require the results of the school quality survey for the self-reflection

on our levels of engagement so as you look at the slide you'll see from left to right action which i will be sharing with you our budgeted expenses our estimated actuals and then there is also a note for implementation so the first one we have completed we administered the california healthy kids survey in november and december of 2021

the results are currently being analyzed and we will be utilizing that data to plan for our 2p program for next school year the high school k-12 intervention counselors and the junior high and elementary intervention counselors for actions two and three those staffing have been completed the infant toddler program for parenting students is for parents to attend school staffing

is complete there and then we also have an additional additional staff at buena vista that improve student connectedness and that was for action four for action five staffing is complete for boys republic this is a court appointed school for foster youth and the entire staff is provided through lcap for number six we also provide summer school for high school students

who are credit deficient suicide prevention training for secondary level action seven we have a rotation of trainings that are conducted throughout the school year for our secondary schools and that is complete as well case management services for homeless youth which is the last action on this page that is provided by the hope program and that is in progress and we will

complete that on june 30th 2022 action number nine our mental health clinical services are available to medical eligible students through our behavioral health center and also there are clinical services available for students with disabilities through our behavior intervention program and staffing is complete there our saturday school was postponed this year due to the pandemic as you know saturday saturday school

gives students an opportunity to make up learning for absences during the school year action 11 our school nurses and health technicians support the students health throughout the district and have been invaluable during the pandemic the chino valley unified school district health clinic provides well child care it supports students who are ill it provides immunizations and it also

makes referrals for specialty care for students with medi-cal or those students without insurance for action 13 our hope resource program provides case management and referral to the community for resources it provides clothing and school supplies for our most needy students and families and for the tykes program we are in progress with that and will be completed with our this year's service

for our parents for preschool education and then moving on to action 14 we provide home to school transportation for our k-12 students for action 13 this staffs the cvla school and these are for our students who have been expelled number 16 provides additional staff to ensure a smooth transition for our foster youth into our schools and that

is complete and then in terms of chino human services this is complete as well we have a contract with chino human services and they provide individual counseling to k-12 schools throughout the district in terms of other means of correction we provide training to our administrators in guidelines in how to manage suspensions and expulsions our safe school ambassadors program it's

an anti-bullying program that's provided at the school sites and we've trained 28 of 32 sites our brief academy is a special education program that's offered to elementary students who have behavioral concerns and it provides support to the students and assisting them in learning to self-regulate our student support department partners with probation officers to assist in training and home visits

that's number 21. action 22 our school quality survey is currently in progress and we will have completed that by february 28th teachers parents and family engagement is supported by the staff at the family engagement center they provide training and family activities to promote family involvement and then our school site council delac and elac meetings that one provides

assistance in terms of school governance we also provide bilingual clerks that provide translation at the school sites and we have currently filled 18 out of 23 positions and then finally we do provide parent informational forums to educate parents on relevant teen issues and that concludes goal two goal three is that all students are prepared for college and career beyond

graduation we use metrics in four areas to measure our progress towards meeting this goal for two areas our metrics indicate that we did not meet the goals for the other two areas the metrics were affected by the pandemic and therefore while we collect those numbers and we analyze them we cannot compare with previous year's data one of the measures that sets chino

valley unified school district apart from the other districts in our region were the in-house local assessments that we were able to use in place of the statewide assessments also known as casp the essential standards assessments or the esa's are based on the essential standards that were identified by district-wide committees of teachers just prior to the pandemic and that

timing could not have been more perfect the esa's were the main reason that the state approved us to use these measures in lieu of the casp this table shows the results of each of the three esa's or essential standards assessments administered throughout the 2020-2021 academic year the far right column indicates the goal that we identified english learner progress is another

metric we examine the indicators are the percentage of students that make progress on the summative assessment for english learners also known as the lpac along with the percentage of el students who were reclassified though the pandemic greatly affected these metrics for us we still consider these actually consider these strong data points because in these two areas we far exceed the state and the county

averages by over 11 percent however with fewer students reclassified our long-term english learner percentage is on the rise but again this is still a strong data point for us as we usually maintain an 8 to 10 percent less than the county as well as the state percentages moving from left to right on this table it illustrates the metrics

that comprise our college and career report for for cohort graduation rates there was there was an increase between the class of 2020 and 2021 as far and as far as the percentage of students meeting the rigorous uc csu a3 requirements we also increased by four percent students demonstrating a high level of proficiency in one or more languages in

addition to english also increased are percentages of students earning the golden state seal merit diploma did decrease but as you can see for all of four for four of these metrics we still outpace um chino valley graduates still outpace the state as well as the county our college and career report also contains three metrics two of them here

first are the percentage of students who complete graduates who completed college credit courses prior to leaving us and then also an increase shown in the percentage of students who completed a cte pathway and finally on this report right here um these these are the percentage of students um who passed the ap exam a minimum score of three is required in

order to receive possible consideration for college credit um we did decrease between 2020 and 2021 down to 61.31 percent and the same with our previous two goals from left to right we have the action that's indicated in column one with the budgeted expenditures in column two along with the estimated actuals as of january 2022 in that third column and then

finally our implementation notes there so for action number one our multi-tier systems of support for academic as well as instructional materials and staffing that staffing is complete as well as instructional materials continue being purchased and will be completed by june 30th the office of student support does offer tutoring at no cost to both homeless as well as foster students

and those referrals for tutoring come through the site as well as by request action item number three our counselor at the alternative education center staffing is complete and that counselors is specifically for our virtual program as well as our independent study program counselors at our aec center staffing number uh number three um covers specifically students k through 12 and again for independent

study and virtual number four our access to a3g information via our online platform known as ccgi or the college and career guidance initiative while there's not a cost associated there we still continue to monitor a3g progress via this platform as well as our counselors providing input as well as classroom exposure to to that platform for number five are college nights

and career awareness events are still part of the junior high school school day as well as after school events at the high schools and while these were affected by the pandemic the good news is they're still occurring um sometimes in virtual but they're still they're still happening for number six a3g promotion through course alignment and training student and family awareness as well as

promoting a3g requirements it continues to be an ongoing year-round process we build that into so many parts of our system we also host one-to-one meetings with our counseling staff as well as our administrators at the high school and we cover that data and we make plans for students that are meeting it and how to increase it and how to

increase awareness uh to to those rigorous standards number seven um is avid which stands for advancement via individual determination conti continues to thrive here in chino valley we currently have it at 13 schools all of our comprehensive high schools have them as well as five of our junior highs and four of our elementary schools number eight is uh in conjunction with our

joint powers this is the high school career centers so in conjunction with our joint powers association with baldyview rop our we have um our four comprehensive sites as well as here at buena vista continue to have career centers where students have access not only to information about post-secondary careers but also to colleges and universities number nine students in cbusd

for offer for college credit courses students in cvusd have access to many paths towards college credit now some of those opportunities are through the agreements that that dr carr and the alternative education center has with chaffey college as well as california state san bernardino and others exist through embedded classes on our campuses through dual enrollment as well as articulated courses

number 10 while there's not a cost associated with it again this is part of their our a through g um exposure we work with each of our high school counseling teams um to work on transcripts audits and those are conducted at strategic times through the year based on grade level to make sure students are on track to meet a3g

requirements we go through a series of questions with the counseling teams and they report back with data associated with each of those questions in the area of advanced placement we continue to subsidize exam fees for eligible low-income students in order to promote participation in eight in ap courses as well as expand our course offerings um and this money is in

progress and um i'm sorry this this implementation is in progress and will be completed by uh june 30th for number 12 um due to some logistical issues obviously by the pandemic as as mr hackney pointed out much of the professional development was set aside again due to some logistical issues so that's going to be postponed until 2223

number 13 the coordinator that's associated with access and equity staffing is complete and that coordinator not only helps um ensure that all of our english learners are properly placed into their eld at our secondary schools but they're also taking the proper courses and with that that's i'm sorry that's for both actions 13 and 14. and with that that concludes our

progress on goal 3 as well as the report to the board thank you dr park and her team board do you have any questions or comments mr gnaw yes this is a great report it shows how hard you guys are working thank you for all the staffs working on out cap but one thing i i like to make a general

statement only when these three things would happen in our school duchy will help us to move ahead our school district has to be a great place to work for for our teachers and our staff members where they could only worry about teaching our students in the classroom number two it has to be a place where students would have a great experience

being educated they need to be valued that must happen and lastly our parents will be proud to send their children to our school district and not only that we'll be bold and and proud to tell others about our school district these are three important goals that we must meet when you look at the page which shows that

on page eight on school number two you're in attendance goal was not met and it's mainly due to the factor that we have experienced the kovi 19 pandemics and this one had happened to all the school districts nationwide but we need to think ahead what is after kobe 19 what is going to bring our children back to our school

how are we going to bring our parents back to school and supporting our our education let's involve our parents maybe do a survey to brainstorm how to increase our attendance rate we could think in this district side and also school site but also we need to have parental involvement and let's share it all together and think ahead

because i see the end of pandemics coming soon and we must move fast because everyone is going to be after the ada thank you thank you mr nah mrs kim all right the light switch since mr shaffer thank you and thank you dr park and your team for the report and the update um it's good for us to get a snapshot of

where we're at i have a specific question on related to page 17. i don't know what the year-over-year fluctuation is for the ap pass rate but can you tell me between 2020 and 2021 was there a large discrepancy in the number of students that took the test because the number of students taking the test can skew the percentage

uh quite drastically there's actually a number of factors that we have looked at that would have affected the significant decrease that we have we have seen one we did see a significant drop off in the number of students who did take who who took the ap exam um and that's when you hypothesize that's you our students were not in class they were

they participated in distance learning and as a result the first place we go to is their self-efficacy do they feel confident about taking the ap test the second hypothesis that we have is the ap test was administered two different ways there were students got to choose to participate in person and students also had the opportunity to parse participate

online and previously they never had the opportunity to participate online so the fact that there were different ways that we administered the test would have attributed to this drop-off as well thank you thank you mr shaffer mr bridge yes i'd like to i'd like to thank dr park and the staff for this uh comprehensive report and i just want to

go to page 15 very quickly and uh i was pleased to see that in a in a year where we were virtual for more than half the year and then back into the classroom that we still had our numbers higher than the uh than the county numbers and the state numbers and i think that's a a tribute

and a congratulations to our teachers and staff for the for the work that they did in overcoming a lot of obstacles and yet still getting our our students uh higher than the county and the state average so i just wanted to thank you for that and that's all i have miss kim yes so i actually have a question on

page 15. um we have the state syllabi literacy and the golden state seo merit diploma available to her students a couple of months ago i was looking at one of our county board meeting agendas and i noticed that they actually approved a state sales civic engagement resolution for the entire county so i was i just had a question about whether

our district is in the process of developing a program for the state seal for civic engagement we're going to have dr rodriguez address that so as with most of the golden state seals that are attached to diplomas there is a set of criteria and tools that they provide to leas that hasn't been released yet um and they're still

in the development stages of that and when they do they provide it to us and it actually gets built into a lot of our systems you know ares and things like that that help us arrive at those at those metrics so that hasn't been released to the lease yet but good job being on top of it any other comments or questions mr na

on page 18 um we have a program for after school tutoring for foster youth but however i'd like to see it in the future if we could expand it for all the student population in secondary schools especially with new type of math and science lots of students who are having lots of pain trying to learn so i would like to see

that service offered for all the high school students in the future and page 11 again item 19 it talks about safe school ambassador program which is a great program but different sites different sites have um sometimes their staffs and student originated great programs that supports our student body such as chino hills high school i was really moved by best

body program where students actually experience uh the servanthood leadership uh in in reality and state staffs were able to raise funds and do that themselves but if as a district we could support those things that really impacts our student body would help building a great experience of educating in education in our high school i think that's it for now thank you

thank you mr nah mr cruz you know i noticed that this took a lot of work a lot of dedication a lot of determination for our children and they're they're our precious asset but you know it really tears me up inside that um man you know this this work should have been the same thing when it came to those mandates and removed we

should have removed those a long time ago because it shows it shows what humanity can do humanity can rise in times that are difficult we always have to be there for our children for the future of our children maybe history will show us that we have to do what's best for our kids because this shows it thank you

thank you mr cruz any other questions or comments from the board i have a couple questions um starting on page seven um number eleven cte programs and rop um can you provide a little more information about what we are doing in terms of expanding our cte programs we actually have a lot of offerings and i'm going to have dr julian rodriguez our

expert in-house expert on cte programs to share that with you thank you so glad you asked we have a as you know our course offerings are tied to labor market data and labor market data sometimes is not necessarily always aligned with student interest data i'll give you an example digital video production a big hit on all of our high

school campuses but here in san bernardino county inland empire region it's not labor market data so we balance that information out with student needs student student wants so that's the first the first indicator and then we rely heavily on our amazing counselors to keep us informed as well as create needs assessments so we also work in conjunction with and

we're really unique here in chino valley because in addition to this that you see with our jpa we also have some homegrown cte um and so using both both streams of resources we build our courses our course offerings around that so we work with the jpa rop to identify that we also worked with the chino valley chamber of commerce to identify

some resources there that we can tap into into our local labor market and then finally again we we build from the ground up with students so currently our course offerings are focused on building pathways and so we have at least two levels of courses 300 hours that need to be completed in order to do that so we're going in and we're

identifying okay where do we have some incomplete pathways that's our first priority because we really want to get students ready for the labor market and the research as well as best practices supports students taking 300 hours that's two years of of cte coursework so that was our first level and that's what we're doing there we also are looking for opportunities um i'll

give you an example partnerships that pop up most recently through our building trades and constructions resulted in two new pathways one here at buena vista and starting next year over at don lugo we have two new pathways up at chino hills with our criminal i'm sorry it's actually our public services criminal justice is part of it but our public services as well as

tourism and recreation we have thriving hospitality at chino high as well as next year starting a cyber security as well as biomedical science pathway there so those are the elements that kind of go into determining what those pathways are and those are some of the new pathways that we're starting and have we checked in with our students

through a survey or otherwise to see what interests are in new career pathways yeah we continue to do that we rely heavily on those initial meetings with our um with our counselors but in addition to that in fact right now we're conducting we've been doing this for the last few years the state requires that we reach out to

graduates we actually call them those who completed pathways to gather more information find out whether or not not only did you complete a pathway but do you have a job in that pathway and if you don't have a job in that pathway that you completed why not so that's some of the surveys that we do as well as we also survey our current

students at the end of each year and then also those that are in current pathways thank you my second question's on pat from page eight and it has to do with the state reflection tool for parent engagement it says not started can we get some information about what's delayed that and what the plan is we're going to have dr aries our

director of access and equity address that good evening so actually we rely first on our k-12 insight data so that's the school quality survey that is currently being administered to our parents our students as well as our staff and a section in that particular survey is dedicated to family engagement and actually aligns very nicely with that self-reflection tool so once that survey

closes on february 28th we will be looking at that data to help us start to complete that self-reflection which will then be used as part of the lcap and presented to the board great thank you any other questions or comments from the board uh seeing none dr park i'd just like to thank you for your thorough presentation

and thank your team for all your work thank you [Music] we are now on item 1d comments from student representative we are now at comments from our student representative miss kim thank you miss kanye so good evening everyone it's time for my student representative report so to begin our district-wide student government day will be held on february

26 at chino hills high school on this day high school seniors throughout the district will be paired with school district and city officials to experience career paths and learn about the workings of local governance we are so excited to see our seniors shine as next year's budget is put on the table lcap student engagement meetings are being held throughout the district

the el capital as it was presented is a budget plan for a district that is written every three years and revised annually to fit our community's needs i had the privilege to be a part of a group of 11 students from my school randomly selected to be part in providing feedback for next year's elk cap so during the lunchtime meeting we were

provided with pizza and a slideshow explaining what the purpose and the goals of our digi our district's el cup was we then gave feedback through discussions and written responses many insightful comments and suggestions came from the meeting including expanding efforts to recognize diversity and multiculturalism supporting underfunded athletics and arts programs and improving access to mental health and

post high school preparation resources such as artino human services as well as a career center i would also like to strongly implore the board and superintendent to consider a student board member election or open selection process starting this or the following year our district currently appoints sbms through a rotational system where high schools take turns appointing their

senior president to the board although this is a good way to factor student representation into the process these asb presidents are often unaware of what their additional responsibility as an sbm is when they run for school president if the next student board member is selected from the chino or ayala high school asb president they will not only

be disconnected from other schools but they will also sit in a seat that they didn't necessarily sign up for personally although i try my best to hear the voices of as many groups as i can in my appointed position i also understand that i cannot speak from the position of an elected member or easily garner student interest in what i do

we need student board members who are well trained connected with the student population and definitely ready to represent 38 000 cpusd students a district-wide election or even an open interview process is practiced by many school districts throughout the nation and we have many models to cross-reference if we want more students on our public comments forums or email inboxes we need

to start with utilizing one of the best resources that we have at hand the student board member thank you everyone have a great rest of the evening thank you miss kim we're now on to item 1e comments from employee representatives we are now comments from employee representatives miss brenda walker a ct president no comments this evening uh mr danny

hernandez from csca is not with us this evening is there another representative from csca seeing none uh miss barbara burden champ president [Music] good evening president gagne school board members dr enfield cabinet and china valley community happy random acts of kindness day schools across the district are celebrating this week with spirit weeks focused on kindness or kindness

campaigns as we approach the end of the day i hope you think of a habit that you can incorporate in your daily routine to show kindness whether you say good morning to the cashier at the coffee shop i won't name it give a compliment to someone or thank someone we can all spread kindness throughout our community on that note

i would like to thank our chino valley district leaders for their help and support site administrators rely on the support from coordinators directors and superintendents each and every day we are very lucky to work with a community of people who always want to do what is best for our students additionally i am excited to announce that our very own mr todd finkbeiner the

principal at canyon hills junior high was nominated nominated as middle grades principal of the year by axa region 12. on monday may 2nd mr finkbeiner will be recognized by the region 12 board champ members i hope you will consider attending the event in support of our friend i will send more information as soon as plans are finalized

finally i was ecstatic to have several champ members participate in our early morning meeting last friday i hope we can get more people to log in for our early morning zoo meeting on friday march 11th i hope to see you at 6 30. at this meeting we will make plans for the spring as well as the end of the year

further this bylaw states in part individual speakers will be allowed three minutes to address the board a speaker may not use the podium for purposes other than addressing the board directly there are no further comments a speaker will be considered to relinquish his or her allotted three minutes this means the speakers cannot donate their time to another speaker which is

i first wanted to explain my views i participated in the protest because i felt that it was my agency of what is right for me is being taken away i suffer from anxiety attacks the masks don't help at all i once had an anxiety attack so bad at school this year that the ambulance and firefighters were called to the school

because my arms and legs became so numb i couldn't walk and i had the hardest time trying to breathe i have meds there in the office and all my teachers admins and health tech know that i visit the health office often to help calm down and even with all of this i do not i was denied the mask exemption

i knew if i don't if i didn't stand up from my rights and what is best for me now i won't have a chance if the vaccine becomes mandated i want the staff at cortez to know that i didn't do this out of acting out or to be defined but defiant i saw the eyes of disappointment and shaking your head at me

i heard your whispers of this is just a joke or this is a waste of time i just so you know the quad carries your whispers we heard and saw it all i felt my the heart break when the admin thought it was best to take away my first leadership assignment because i was wearing a mask they thought i wasn't wearing a mask

they thought it was best because they said the they didn't think the class could hear me from the door which was five feet away from the teacher who was wearing a mask this was hard really hard my family loves cortez staff so to see and hear the things being said was sad but i wanted to let you know why i did

this i did this because i'm going to fight for mine and your freedom we don't stand up now and say enough is enough then sooner than later it will be too late i come from a long line of hard workers and fighters my great grandfather was in every branch of the military except marines he was literally gone to war to fight

education simply because i want to breathe fresh air i want to not be discriminated against my own private medical choices and how i live my life you will not force this choice upon us and keep abusing my freedoms in this country you are feeling the fire and abusing children by restricting their air and requiring vaccinations to simply

hello good evening everyone my name is kaylee bergeron and i'm a sophomore at ayala high school last tuesday there was an incident at my first period chem class with miss fawn i walked into class a couple minutes late and sat at my desk and waited to be given my chemistry quiz but that didn't happen miss vaughn saw

that i was not wearing a mask miss fawn wait miss fawn saw that i was not wearing a mask so she went to go get a mask and she put it on my desk and i just left it there the person that sits right next to me then walks into class shortly after and were given their quiz but i was

never given one i then asked why am i being ignored to the other people at my table and then i took out my phone to record and show my mom how i was being ignored and not getting a test i sent the video to my mom only then did miss fong come over and acknowledge me she told me you can't

send out video of the quizzes i told her i'm not i'm showing my mom how you're ignoring me and not giving me a quiz then she says i was just gonna give you the quiz right now and then i said but you ignored me the person that sits right next to me that walked in later than i did got a quiz but i didn't

instead you gave me a mask she then doesn't say anything and walks back to her desk shortly after she comes back over to ask me if i would want to take the quiz and i replied yes after i finished the quiz i was escorted out by mr cloak who is the assistant principal how is this fair how is this right all i

classes and on and on they and their parents augment the lackluster funding you give to those programs and they extend the education dollars in every classroom our kids are the leaders of today and tomorrow and they are proving that now by standing up for their freedom when you won't we are the parents who donate to and run

booster clubs pfas and teams for free we are the parents who spend time in the classrooms or at least we used to before you added ridiculously illogical volunteering rules keeping us out i cannot count how many kids i've helped with reading writing and math for free or the professional auditing and accounting i have done for non-profit groups in this district for free

the debate adjudication i have done for free the uniform measuring i have done for free the fireworks booth i've spent my fourth of july weekends running for free the chaperoning i have done for free the thousands of dollars my husband and i have donated to prop up programs and schools throughout this district and i am only a representative of hundreds of

parents helping in all areas of learning in this district those are the families you are discriminated against and driving away keep on this path and it will be too late to save the crippled district you're left with because we are not giving up we will stand and fight for our kids right to breathe i can't even believe i

have to say that until either you have changed these illegal rules not laws rules you are all fired or we have all left the school district and if if that happens it will be too late to get our leaders back in your classrooms your teams and your honors programs so wake up and take action we are counting

everyone knows this is absolute nonsense okay we know in other countries they never stopped their kids from coming to school ever they were able to look at the data and knew that kids were not affected by covid there are states around our country where kids have been able to go to school without masks and without vaccines for well over a year

the fact that we're even here is just absolutely ridiculous to me we have nevada now has released their mass mandate somehow 200 miles east of my house my kids go to go to go to school without a mask and now today michigan and nevada are some other new mexico has finally relented on their mass mandates when is

california going to come to the party and wake up there's no science or data behind any of this nonsense and you all know that we need you to be stand strong and stand up against the other people who are telling you you can't do this just this week two days ago eldorado's high school union it started with on

she told her coach because they didn't have their mask on she won't turn on the air this is disgusting who are we we're monsters monsters the very fact that you guys sit up there and you knew that dr enfield and no one does anything is monstrous the very fact that all of you guys can look at these children and not say you

did one thing i'll give up my time explain one thing any of you did to help the kids you sent us out we didn't know anything we came back and we got stuff done you blamed san bernardino county guess what happened we went to san bernardino county we called them every week since may we finally sat in their

office tell they had no choice but to speak to us and we also submitted tort claims to get their attention for all the damage that was done that you blame them for then they put it on public records stating they are not enforcing and they are not requiring you to enforce things i sat with you dr enfield and i asked

personally christina gagne you have been served over 100 affidavits for the crimes committed against our children these affidavits will list step-by-step ways that you have allowed harm to come to our children both physically and emotionally you will no longer be allowed to sit back while banging your gavel and lie to our faces and by the way your lack of decorum while banging

michael partida oh good evening first of all i just want to say i'm encouraged by the words of these youth that had the courage to come and address the board and spoke very eloquently of their concerns of the leadership that is before us i want to speak specifically opposed to these mandates you know there's a there's a couple of

things if you look through history you know history is is forecasting the future you know uh these these first of all these masks they're supposed to be medical devices if anybody's done anything with with personal protective equipment personal protective equipment has to be actually fitted to the person to actually work there's a process that goes through it

whether you go through a hood even an 95 mask to see if you can taste anything if you can you go into the next smaller one i don't know of anybody in our community that has gone through that process to make these masks effective in the way that the government says that they work so let's talk about the past of the

government and the window dressing that they like to put on things because that's what these masks are in the 1950s we had a scare with atomic bombs nuclear bombs were going to come and they were going to drop on america and kill everybody and the great program that our government put together was called duck and cover should a nuclear bomb be inbound to the

united states stop where you are and duck and cover and we stayed with that program up and through columbine high school which in the midst of a shooting the only thing that was taught was duck and cover the fact of the matter is is our leadership is lacking creativity is looking to only do window dressing and not address things that work

if i were to sell you a roof for your house that had the same effectiveness as this vaccine that sometimes stop the water or didn't let it drip as bad how many of you would buy the roof to put on your million dollar houses i would guess none of us we would look for something that works what we have successfully done

is what we've done throughout the throughout man is we have segregated people and made them feel like second-class citizens the simple fact that i got to have a card to go anywhere in los angeles city to sit at a restaurant takes me back to apartheid in south africa where i had to have travel papers we continue to do this

in wind that's the speed of some highways that go through our city can you explain why they lost out on learning i mean that was important you guys came up with this brilliant elo that added 30 minutes of nothing that has just messed with our time and made our kids tired so i want to know what the hell

were you thinking what the hell are you doing what the hell is going on kids are being bullied discriminated against harassed by teachers by staff by principals and guess what you guys are at the top of the ladder you made a promise you gave them your word that you would make sure that this didn't happen so here's the deal

and my two boys that go to this district to the school in the district i've been a counselor for over 20 years i've been an elementary counselor for approximately 10 years a middle school counselor for approximately 10 years and i am shocked at the lack of common sense that you guys don't have i've had thousands of students in my

office come ask for advice on whether or not they should fight somebody you know what i try to do i try to give them common sense and then they have to go out and make a choice they have to make a choice a free choice i currently work on a middle school right now in another district you know

what i see all day this is what i see this is what i see all day nothing but hoodlums i can't tell if they're smiling i can't tell if they're crying i can't tell if they're sad i can't tell if they can breathe i can't tell if they're cutting if they have suicide ideation i've been a counselor for over 20 years

it doesn't make sense if you when's the last time you've been on a school site and talked to a kid when when's the last time kids are not stupid they know the damn mask doesn't work let them make a choice you know when you wear this mask we all look the same and i used to in l

i used to teach kids that you're special different and unique but you and you look the same with your mask on and every other kid and they're walking around depressed i don't even know how to reach them anymore i they don't even want to say hi and lastly do you understand the definition of bullying do you because you guys talk about i'll keep

the kids safe no bullying uh the mental health you know what the bull the definition of bullying is you have the victim that's the kids they're being bullied to wear a mask do not have a choice the second one is the bully that's governor newsome over there bullying the kids then you have the bystander and that's the board

the bystander the bystanders not standing up and saying something and i teach kids stand up and say something if you see bullying you stand up and say something and then you have the upstander and those are the ones on the board who are standing up okay the bystander doesn't do anything we need more upstanders and that's why we

have all these parents here and all these kids we want freedom and the mask mandates now thank you thank you [Applause] the next the next speaker is julie vandell followed by megan long followed by mary busher that's amazing stuff man good evening my name is julie vandell and i'm a kindergarten teacher here in chino valley i'm going to start first

talking as a teacher because where's our opinions at and then i'm going to talk as a mom i want to discuss what i'm noticing in my classroom this year due to the masks many students sit on the carpet without joining in during counting reading sight words sounding out words etcetera and i can't tell who's speaking and who's not speaking

we must see each other's mouths to form sounds correctly i'm teaching these kids how to read these are all critical skills for my students to be successful in school teachers are expected to look at data daily to drive our instruction i hope you are looking at the data as well many of my students are struggling this year with just the basics

i believe many of them are hiding behind their masks i call my students my pandemic babies because they have had to deal with covid since they were three years old many of these children didn't attend preschool or daycare due to this pandemic so they didn't learn how to do many of the early learning skills i'm also dealing with behaviors that

i've never dealt with before and i know it's not just me i suggest that you look at the data and plan for next year extra intervention teachers school psychologists smaller class sizes and aids are needed for all of these struggling students on a side note i will be resigning at the end of the school year my family that sweet fourth grader that

spoke earlier my son my husband and i are moving out of state i know i am replaceable and i know i will be replaced by another teacher however this didn't have to happen my husband and i decided that moving our boys who are chino valley students out of california and chino was in their best interest we are moving to a state with zero

mandates i have a feeling we aren't alone and other families will be making a move too it is very sad that chino the place where i grew up attended dixon townsend and on lugo and have given 23 years of my life to my wonderful students will be losing my family and other families like mine make mask wearing and coveted

vaccines a choice other districts are doing it so should you just do the right thing and you know what the right thing is thank you megan long followed by mary busher followed by sean smith good evening board members i would like to give you a brief background of why i'm here i fought for six weeks on bed

rest to keep myself from going into preterm labor once my daughter was born at 25 weeks and one pound three ounces i had to fight and advocate for her at four she was diagnosed with vocal cord issues from being intubated for so long her vocal cords don't touch which means she can't project her voice now slap a mask muzzle on her and now she

can't be heard or understood she is retreating and sometimes refuses to talk to her teachers and classmates because they can't hear her again i stand here fighting and advocating for her on february 1st my three kids decided they were done with the mast just like our governor the elites and the people they see on tv they took a courageous stand and walked

into their kinder second and fourth grade classrooms at lytle elementary without a mask what happened next was devastating our principal at lytle called all three of them into the office called me down to the school and proceeded to tell us that they can either put on a mask or leave the premises my children were illegally kicked out of

the school they loved so much here i am fighting and advocating for them you are not allowed to legally deny these children an equal education my kids are on day 13 of being forced out of their classrooms in the elements to do packets they are not being taught they are being denied instruction music classes activities and so much more

although this breaks my heart i couldn't be more proud these children have more courage than half of you combined up there shame on this district and this board for enforcing these abusive and traumatic strategies i am here alongside so many parents again advocating and fighting for our children although you just want to point your finger and blame

on to the california health department surprise the health department informed us that the decision has always been up to the district so it's time to turn that finger around and point it back at yourselves you guys are choosing to inflict this on our children you're going to be held responsible again we are here fighting and advocating for our children

we now see past the guidelines the science and now know it's no longer about safety but about teachers unions esther funds compliance these are what drives this politically controlled monopoly called the public education parents are waking up and realizing where their taxpayer money is going and how is funding the most hair brained schemes imaginable this won't stop with

the mask we the parents are ready to drain this swamp every day at 6am i i pray for you guys over my cup of coffee i pray for strength that our district will get the courage to stand up for what's right and to advocate for our children it's time to break up this dangerous monopoly and put our parents back in charge of their

district i am not a public speaker by nature but i'm tired and disheartened by what has been going on in our school system i am sure you are more than tired of what you'll probably think of the parents in the school district who are taking a stand against the mandates and for the children that have been encouraged to take a stand as well they

have peaceably ask you executed executed their freedom of speech and instead of being rewarded for their bravery and applying the lessons they have been taught in school quite the opposite has happened they've been excluded and put in a corner made to feel ashamed by some of their teachers and a lot of their peers for going against the grain i know

you will say they are going against the mandate they are breaking the law but last time i checked a mandate is not a law and time and time again it has been made known that each school district gets to decide how to enforce it you have all the power here to do something good set an example for other schools

i'm not saying you have to get rid of mass hell let those that want to wear them for the rest of their lives do so but let the ones that don't want to wear it let them make that choice i walk my daughter to school every morning and pick her up as well it breaks my heart that the vast majority

of the students are still wearing masks out outside when it's not even required these kids have become so brainwashed and wearing these masks for almost two years that they don't know any better they don't want to be shamed or bullied by their peers by the small number of kids kids that have refused to wear a mask during these last couple of weeks

you're probably thinking most of the kids are happy to continue to wear them i think we should actually do a poll before we make any assumptions of this i know from my special needs daughter she sees things black and white and they told her daily she didn't wear her mask she would get everybody sick and possibly kill them how could you mess

with kids minds like this especially one my daughter who has social anxiety autism and developmental coordination disorder i asked her if she wanted to stop wearing it and she said no because she was so fearful of what it would do to other people we have made our kids so afraid by continuing to enforce this mandate we have not allowed them to be

free thinkers but just do what you're told no matter what i know you guys have probably learned to put on ear plugs and blinders on what when it comes to all requests protests and pleading from the bottom of our hearts to do the right thing i know two things you're very passionate about and there's lawsuits and accommodating minority communities

such as the trans population so what will it take parents coming together and suing the entire district for all the irreversible harm that's been placed on their children or if we say that the trans community is offended by having to wear a mask what in the world will it take for you to listen for you to support the children

out by saying i don't think you're idiots quite contrary i think that you're all pretty intelligent people and that's why this is the situation is so confusing the the data is so clear at this point the suicide the drug overdose the child the child obesity rates all these data points are so clear at this point these policies are abusive

they're not helping the kids and in the end we all see that now i don't understand how seemingly intelligent people can look at the data and continue these harmful abusive policies when even cnn's medical advisor you know that one lady uh when even she is saying to that these mask policies are they they got to go i mean when even that person

who's pretty despicable frankly is saying it but yet we're continuing it the it's hard to think of the excuses so i mean what is the excuse for this continued abuse money right are we following the guidelines well if the guidelines told you to go smack a kid would you do it no right it's pretty obvious that takes

one step to think again i shouldn't do that even if the guidelines told me to do that because it's wrong so like i said i think you could hold multiple variables in your head and you know come up with possible outcomes the thing is you are smacking these kids in the face every day for hours every day you're smacking them

in the face with that mask it is causing so much damage and we all know it so it's it's so confusing i believe all you have at least 110 iqs up here right it doesn't take that much to figure this this whole situation out is it parents oh i get a lot of emails from parents who are who are scared and concerned

about you know this and that well hypochondria is a real thing and we shouldn't be applying it to all at least into this blanket situation just because some parents are scared right so the solution is clear and we actually figured this out you gave us a solution when our brave students stood up and they did their protest

distance learning so you got a scared parent you get all these emails from scared parents send them the same email you sent to us your kids can stay home right in the end how do you want to be remembered because right now your child abusers that's what you were that's what you will be remembered as your legacy

numbers they base their statistics the statistics on are lies these lies are not science masks are not effective they are harmful and being forced on our harmless children we have known this for over a year by the way if you're so scared of covert 19 at this point i supplied you with a pair of pantyhose with instructions it's supposed to help the

mask fit tighter you continue to harm abuse bully and coerce these children with these masks stop the abuse you see every day with the elite masks for thee but not for me bold two-faced hypocrisy at its finest you you have broken many state federal and educational codes for a mandate that isn't a law it's based on cdc guidance

guidance not law which is based on lies this is abuse no more excuses and passing the buck this is asinine our government is evil and you're following along for the money have you ever had the guts to say no thank you that's against the law or what's the stick attached to it did you get a raise or additional

stipends use your power and say no to the puppet you do have this power other districts are saying no join them quit being cowards and puppets you are satan workers stopping every law that doesn't fit the control narrative or you make up new ones by the grace of god you will be held liable do you like being controlled the next thing are the

vaccinations are you just waiting to comply without a legal law you are ignorant with your head the sand pay attention to the world news the elite cabal is coming for our freedom and independence and you are a part of it you people belong in jail with the rest of your cohorts for this abuse and law breaking we have a retired history teacher and a

that was the moment he decided he wanted to home school my son absolutely loves school and has excelled in all subjects but because he's been so miserable this year along with all these others he'd had enough and guess who i hold responsible for that you miss gagne you mr schaefer you mr bridge and you mr enfield and i will even add the teachers union

you've all had opportunities to help i'm really trying to figure out how all of you could be so blind or so oblivious to what our kids need and want feel the room maybe you really think you're following the science i would suggest you are not following medical science but rather political science all of this for you is about politics

miss kanye i can't believe what a hypocrite you are sitting up there with your mask outdoors yet you go to your dinners and your fundraisers and your parties and you take pictures with people not wearing masks it's all for show isn't it trying to distinguish yourselves is better than us you want to make sure you look good for

your friends at emerge california why don't you take a lesson from our governor and numerous celebrities if you had a heart it would show weakness and you wouldn't want that let me switch modes the cta or the teachers union prides themselves for being around for 150 years their website says quote fighting for educators rights and rights for every public student to have

access to quality education well let me tell you they really suck at their job i was a member of the s-e-i-s-e-i-u for years until i realized they only wanted my dues to further their political agenda they were supposed to be helping me but instead they were controlling me telling me who and what to vote for so i took

myself out of the union i am encouraging teachers to do the same thing take your money back take your control back stop paying your dues let's remember who works for who and when you don't like the work they're doing and they don't live up to their expectations you let them go thank you we have now exhausted another 30 minutes

last week they have been created a group chat making fun of and discriminating us mascot students and they do their daily rounds of walking past us sitting outside and pointing and laughing so i like how you'd like to represent that also throughout the whole pandemic those of us speaking out or even voicing our opinions on how we feel have been told

by teachers and fellow students that our opinions are wrong or invalid with the mass situation at my school i had been a student to speak out the first thing that i did i was told by teachers to get the hell out of my classroom the following days i was flooded with hate messages even some including death related matters if you listen to us

students and actually spread the messages you say you do you wouldn't allow these students and staff to put down others for the different opinions some days i feel unsafe at school and i feel like i can't talk to anyone in school because it may just be another person putting me down i say you represent your non-discrimination code

uh throughout these couple years that we've had and the mandatory mass mandates that the kids are going through and all the kids that have showed up and talked about how they're being that uh you know adversely affected and uh you know they're not happy with it i think that affects a positive learning environment i think you know so i think

you have to consider the fact that some of the kids don't want to wear a mask you know it's like when you were a kid you know you didn't want to eat peanut butter or you didn't want any certain kind of food you said no you threw a fit i mean you're making a kid wear a mask

all day that makes no sense there's no logic to it scientifically there's no evidence that says that that the mask is going to happen anyway your leaders in sacramento don't wear a mask their kids are in private school you know and uh not just that but you guys were you guys were uh you guys were elected by by your peers you you were

elected by people of this community you know you know you were not appointed by the state you know uh you know you know you you don't report to the governor your portrait to the kids to the parents so i'm going to go one by one i know shaffer a while back you said that uh that if we were in your place we

wouldn't do the same thing that we wouldn't want to go against band-aids i guarantee you any father in this place will take your seats and will man up and do his job you know you sit there you just you sit there you're just a coward right i i know you i know you're in there for the end of your term and you

want to get out of here that's fine right and then bridge right you were an educator for how many years 30 some years and you don't have a heart to fight for these kids they wear a mask and they're coming they're telling you they're crying to you telling you they don't want to wear it you know there's no feeling in your

heart i mean you've grown were you one of those nasty teachers that were just mean huh were you like a racist that didn't like mexicans or maybe maybe asian people was that what you were you know and and then um kanye i haven't really figured you out yet you know i i you know i know i know

you get a lot of a lot of heat you know but but i think you're you're young you're young and you're making your mark and i just pray to god that you do the right thing you know um i know that you have high expectations you have high hopes and i hope you do the right thing and you make history and you do

something good um dr enfield i'm tired of your emails you know i'm waiting for the day when you send me an email and it says that masks are not are uh are um are an option they're not mandatory i i pray for the day that i get the email saying saying that your kid could come to school with no mask

you know and and the the irony is we have two minorities right that are fighting for the rights of all of chino right two people right that that would be considered somebody that that wouldn't have a voice but they're doing more for our kids and our community than you guys are and you're white you know you're white i can't believe this right so do

your job grow some cajones and and do this do the right thing okay please okay thank you michael sherman followed by sonia shaw hello board my name is michael sherman i have two children in this district not experienced speaker at all so my son suffers from emotional dysregulation disorder exemptions are a joke for him in this district because in order to get an

exemption you have to forego the cloth or whatever mask and put on a helmet with a with a shield which is ridiculous for someone that has his condition so he has been bullied for his refusal and uncontrollable reactions when made to wear a mask he has been separated for being played by being placed outside the classroom because of his outburst when the staff

enforces the mask wearing tell me how this helps him i want to propose a weekly mandatory let's want to propose a weekly mandatory class to inform bullies of their effect on kids on other kids and themselves in the future from what i heard tonight sounds like a few of you can benefit from that class as well um

you talk about kindness week explain to me how enjoyable it would be for kids to do kind things to people to other students staff when they cannot see them smile how is that a reward matinates are not laws we do not live in a monarchy the only thing that makes mandates enforceable is the state of emergency we

are unnecessarily still in when the city of la governor can attend a super bowl along with tens of thousands of other people not wearing masks so then can our kids attend school the same way why is it that people can attend the super bowl and other events without mass but kids that need additional help with their learning can attend saturday

school end the emergency order i know that's not your problem and end the math mandates and vaccine mandates thank you thank you sonia shaw [Applause] sonia shaw sonia shaw there is no greater inhumanity in the world than hurting or belittl belittling a child it's absolutely embarrassing that we even have to have a resolution like this and that's all i have to leave you with

provide students a positive learning environment regardless of the vaccination status and belief regarding face masks pat i'm going to place an amendment on this because of the children the things that you you mentioned and so i want to amend in mr nas resolution is item pat where it says a belief regarding face masks period well comma without any unjust punishments

after face masks what do you think mr now is that the first the last the second paragraph second paragraph second paragraph because a lot of our children have been through a lot second amendment thank you okay um right now there is a motion on the floor to amend um by mr cruz and there's a second by mr

gnaw just to make the amendment clear the second sentence of the action item reads chino valley unified school district will continue to provide students a positive learning environment regardless of their vaccination status and belief regarding face masks period mr cruz's amendment would remove the period and add without any unjust punishments period is that correct mr cruz yes thank you mr cruz

okay on a motion with the second um we will do a roll call vote on this amendment i have a question on the amendment uh yes mr shaffer it seems to be very vague can we get some clarification on what they mean by positive learning environment and unjust [Music] discipline what does that mean this question to the author of the

resolution whoever wants to answer it i don't care who answers it you repeat the question mr schaefer can you repeat the question yes how are you defining positive learning environment and unjust discipline would other you like center i think i think it's wrong i'll give you an example i'll give you one example i think it's wrong when you have a child

that goes outside makes a choice to go outside and then that class is having a pizza party and they go outside so it makes kind of sense for the child to go go and eat pizza with her peers but because she made that choice she can eat pizza or if a child makes a choice to go outside

but because of that choice that child made that child can't play in pe and the injustice of things that occur in a classroom of issues with who knows but but if a child feels that she's being segregated feeling bullied that that is unjust punishment that is punishment and all that should be adhered so that word that says without any unjust punishment it is

a punishment when you don't have a child an elementary child not eating pizza with their peers outside it is a punishment when when that child makes a choice to be outside because finally that child had enough to wear that mask but that child can't play pe it is a form of punishment when it's cold outside and windy and when you isolate a

child i mean those are punishments and the reason why we know those are punishments because we can relate because we were children of ourselves so the common sense to determine what is the meaning of an unjust punishment everybody knows what that means and you know these these punishments will last forever especially of a child and we just hurt things the anxiety

so it's unjust and we're going to use common sense and common sense is when we were kids the things that that we want good for children because we know with common sense so without any unjust punishments mr noff i would totally agree with mr cruz we had several speakers who were children and broke my heart um you know two years of

masking is enough but plus that they're under duress they're under what speaker said noble standards being applied that needs to be go i and matter of fact we need to invite those students that we have left bring them back we need to bring this school district back to order where it shows that we do care for them

and this is their home school the sacramento gavin newsom he might be going out of states as he has done in the past with children but as we are here today we need to keep our children you know safe positive environment without double standards and treating them with love compassion and respect thank you thank you mr nah

this the reason why i did this was because sb 871 and this is the whole climax when you see all this occurring this is never going to stop 871 pan public health mandate the covent and hepatitis b vaccine for any child entering school day care and nurseries does not allow personal and religious exemptions and it may take into effect february

student leaders in action and i appreciate the students that spoke tonight it uh it takes a lot of courage to come and speak before a public group and and i commend them for that uh also uh as far as our winter our schools and winter sports playoffs uh while not having the results except one that i learned today

i do want to congratulate our teams for going into the playoffs girls basketball chino hills high school in division two double a chino who was also the mount baldy league champions in division 3a and also don lugo in 3a in boys basketball ayala was in division 3a chino boys also mount baldy league champions also in 3a girls soccer don lugo in

division four boys soccer ayala in division three and chino hills in division five and congratulations to all of them for making the the post season and then today i learned that the chino hills girls water polo team is going to the finals in their division this saturday in irvine and so good luck to them for and congratulations on a great

season also this week spring sports are now starting and i'd like to encourage everyone to take in a game of their choice many are outdoors so you don't have to worry about mass guidelines the chino champion newspaper last saturday listed the schedules for several of the schools and there's various sports so that you could calendar that if you'd like and

hopefully you pick it up and read it i'm somewhat amazed when i walk around my neighborhood seeing the number of chino champions that sit in the driveway by the middle of the week and lastly i want to wish everyone a nice president's holiday weekend it's another three-day weekend and hope you enjoyed the valentine's three-day weekend which really was the lincoln's birthday

weekend that we take in this district as opposed to some school districts that take a four-day uh weekend this weekend starting uh starting tomorrow by way of a little bit of history in that we did a four-day weekend about gosh i can't even think it must have been the mid-90s and this uh teachers staff and even even students didn't care for
