Board of Education — March 17, 2022
i now reconvene the regular meeting of the board of education at 6 00 pm with bridge crews na shaffer and gagne present before we begin please silence all electronic devices and note that these proceedings are being recorded pat the board met in closed session from 4 30 pm to 5 50 pm regarding student discipline matters a student readmission
public employee appointment high school assistant principal conference with labor negotiators act and csea public employee discipline dismissal release and public employee performance evaluation superintendent no action was taken that requires public disclosure moving on leading the pledge of allegiance tonight is mr bridges we are now at item 1c comments from student representative we are now at comments from our student representative
miss kim thank you miss kanye well hello everyone good evening it's great to be back inside here not in the freezing cold outside so to begin with um as you all know our mask mandate has been lifted starting this monday from at least my school i've noticed that about 65 percent to 70 of students are still masked and i see a similar
ratio in our faculty however we are still enforcing safety measures such as wiping desks students are transitioning while some students are transitioning to independent study because they have immuno-compromised family members at home some students are feeling a lot of anxiety while other students are feeling very happy about the lifting of the mandate there's just a lot of mixed
sentiments going on but i just want to say that we're really grateful for our staff our leadership and our asb students and just a general student body for keeping everything together within like all these changes and keeping a positive school climate for everyone to enjoy all right so with with the new year a new legislative cycle just started in
their state so that means the bills are coming in like all the state bills legislators are now going to make decisions and about a lot of months later those bills are going to go into effect so i've noticed that there were a lot of concerns about sb 328 or the 830 school time bill this year i implore all of you
especially students to keep an eye out on the new legislative bills because these bills affect everyone in the state including us and i don't want a bill like sv328 to like catch up to us after it's passed where we can't really do anything about it so to look up these bills you can just google search 2022 california education
bills and all of them will be right there i've been able to skim over some of them a lot of them are potentially controversial i think all of you will be interested in at least some of them and if anything catches your eye please stay in touch with your local legislative office your board of ed your board of education
there's always the option of public commenting and legislative meetings just stay in touch and be sure to raise your voice when these bills are in the process so that all the bills passed this year are ideal for students and our families so moving on to school lunches i've recently noticed i mean this has been a long-standing problem i'm pretty
sure everyone is aware of this but our lunch lines are getting to a point where it's taking students 20 minutes just to get their lunch and after that they barely have enough time to finish their lunch so i just wanted i just want to bring the focus to how inefficient these lunches are and i mean some students don't get lunches at
home they don't get proper nutrition at home so school is the place where they get all the nutrition so i really hope we can do something about this next year and make sure that our lunch lines are more efficient for all of our students and lastly i want to talk a little bit about college decisions so this month and we're getting a lot of
college decisions out our seniors are starting their post-high school paths and there's been a lot of anxiety and confusion in all of our grades not just to seniors about college just post-high school career paths what do you do after college or will i go to college at all so i think something that really really helps is just to get out there and start
conversations like if you see a teacher who went to a university or interested in or if you see a faculty member just ask them like hey how did you get to where you are and you'd be surprised at the stories that they have like some of those teachers a lot of our teachers didn't start their jobs as teachers
so i think it's really interesting just to ask them about their authentic um post-high school stories and that might just inspire a lot of her students to pursue a path of their own and that'll be it for my comments thank you thank you mrs kim we're now into item 1d comments from employee representatives uh miss brenda walker a ct
don't see her mr danny hernandez csca but miss barbara bearden champ i feel so tall tonight all right good evening president garnier school board members at dr enfield cabinet and chino valley community as the end of the year approaches parents who have children transitioning to junior high or high school need to check out the next school's website the
junior highs and high schools are preparing for next year with orientation nights and applications for some electives that are due in the near future is it is an exciting time for our sixth and eighth graders i would like to thank think and local for supporting so many of our schools and local organizations coordinating fundraisers in an effort to raise money
for schools and support local businesses i think it is wonderful how our community supports each other administrators i hope you will have an opportunity to participate in the julie gobind memorial hit the greens for scholarships tournament and dinner on monday if playing golf does not interest you plan to attend the dinner our support for school portraits supports
our students dreams of pursuing a college degree another example of our community supporting each other finally as students and staff are not required to wear masks while at school it is more important to keep everyone safe by not sending your child to school when they are sick please continue to screen your child for symptoms before they come to school have a wonderful
evening and i appreciate your time thank you ms bearden we're not item 1e comments from the audience on items not in the agenda we are now comments from the audience and items not on the agenda pat are there any requests to speak on non-agenda items there are eight requests to speak speakers will be called in the order the
request was received please listen for your name and be prepared to approach the podium any comments on agenda items will be accepted during consideration of that item once the board has commenced deliberations on an issue speaker cards will not be accepted the board is very interested in your comments but please bear in mind the board typically does
not respond to comments during this time on the agenda as it is specifically reserved for public comments individual members may respond during board comments at the end additionally the board does its best to support the public's right to address its elected officials it's also important that the board conduct its business in an orderly and fair fashion as provided in board bylaw 9323 in the
event an unusual amount of speaker cards is submitted for any item the board will hear up to 30 minutes of comments in the case of non-agenda items the board can if it chooses hear the remainder of comments after all business has been conducted further this bylaw states in part individual speakers will be allowed three minutes to address the board a
speaker may not use the podium for purposes other than addressing the board directly if there are no further comments a speaker will be considered to have relinquished his or her allotted three minutes this means that speakers cannot donate their time to another speaker which in effect can give a speaker more than three minutes the exception is when
non-english speakers require a translator mr nah will you please explain the light system speakers have three minutes to speak and yellow light means you have 30 seconds remaining and red light means your time is over board policy 1312-1 outlines for anyone to file complain against district employees good evening good evening board members my name is jacob costa i'm a student at briggs
elementary i'm here today to tell you that i do not want to get the cover 19 vaccine and i really hope that you guys do not enforce the cover 19 vaccine mandates i really enjoy going to school without my mask i'm sad at the students who are still wearing the mask and are afraid of me because i'm not wearing the mask
if the vaccine mandates are enforced on us next year next school year my family and i will be leaving this district and we will be homeschooling thank you jim gallagher jim gallagher followed by parent advocacy of chino valley followed by sonia shaw okay president gagne superintendent enfield board members uh staff and fellow residents the following is a letter
from a teacher who did not want to appear tonight so she asked me if i would read it she's been with the school district for 25 years she's a product of this district she went to walnut avenue anna bourbon middle school and chino high graduate she apologizes for not being able to be here but she sadly has a lot of anxiety of
speaking at a board meeting she thought it was too much she really appreciates the courage of me for reading it she's watched past board meetings and has been appalling the behavior of the anti-mass group members was disgraceful and an embarrassment to witness she said the heckling of speakers with different opinions some of them young students is truly disgusting and goes against what
america stands for the hypocrisy of their screams of my right my freedom to choose my right to speak while constantly interrupting and treading on others rights to speak freely during allotted time is classless and shows their ignorance she teaches transitional kindergarten her kids have better manners than they are at five years dr enfield schaefer bridge and especially president gagne she wants to
take this opportunity tonight to say that she appreciates your patience and professionalism and staying the course while being personally attacked she's not sure if she could have held it all together without sinking to the low level and screaming back which is why she's not here tonight she wants to say thank you for protecting all of our students and staff
within cbusd by following science and the mandate she's proud to say that there had we have not had coveted and there was never a break out of cloven in her classroom which says a lot for the age group that she works with masks do work my sweet tk's modeled how to have great moral characters she says by always
wearing a mask not for themselves but to protect others many did not like it but they knew that it helped prevent the transmission of germs not just covid and the proof is right there within her classroom in fact staff members that have consistently masked have also remained covered free it's not rocket science she says board members and citizens of cvusd
please support senate bill 1100 that would give the school board the power to remove an individual for willfully interrupting the meeting by intentionally engaging in behavior that substantially impairs or renders and feasible the early conduct of a meeting sadly this is now needed with memorial deterioration that we're seeing in the nms so-called parent advocacy group so there's a lot more
the protests though at school and within the classroom only causes teachers and other staff members like her to be overstretched taking time away from other innocent students substitute teachers had to be used for supervision as well and this took funds and resources away from the schools not the intended target the district thank you parent advocacy of chino valley followed
by sonia shaw followed by cindy feusi good evening dr anfield cabinet and board members the past four days have been pretty awesome hearing how excited some of these children are to see their peers and in the in be in the classroom we had one precious child who sat outside for over a month extremely excited she got to go to music class
again the countless stories can only bring most to smile with hearing the joy from our kids we want to thank all the students parents teachers elected officials staff and board members that helped get us to this point without the collective efforts of our children without the collective efforts our children would still be under orders that made no sense so a huge thank you
as we continue to meet with elected officials across our state to help advocate for children's rights we have asked to address mental health issues tonight we propose we have a study session to include anyone to come up with doing something special for the children and the staff we hope this is something you can help with and we'll follow up with an email
tomorrow we want to help and possibly get the cities in our district involved and have a celebration to move forward and get back to normal thank you for just for your time we are better together thank you sonia shaw followed by cindy feusi followed by agnes good evening dr enfield cabinet board members and community teams go from being underdogs to winning
championships mindset changes everything and with a positive attitude teamwork and utilizing everyone's talents and gifts they are led to victory the same thing can happen for our children's education now that the teachers and students can focus on learning instead of covet in the classroom let's all also focus on moving forward from the damage and put the energy into making sure our
children's education is a leading example across the state so many wonderful things have happened these past couple of weeks we have met with senator young kim's office and are brainstorming things that would be helpful for our children our county supervisor kurt hadman made a resolution to send a letter to oppose the mandates and it passed four to one even connie
leyva publicly told parents she would vote against the mandates for the children we hope she will keep her word and the others will follow so that all kids would be able to intend in person learning next year the time is now to bring our focus back to rebuilding the damage done by the two years at covid it's more important than
at now than ever we take the energy and put that towards enforcing covet policies that were that was put towards coveted policies and put it towards making sure our amazing teachers have the tools needed to provide our children with the absolute best education possible we also have an opportunity to bring the community together and provide hope and
a return to normalcy we have some ideas for you to consider we also have a large group of parents ready and able to help coordinate activities that have been missed for too long we would like you to commit to celebrating our students faculty and families in the last few months of the year one idea is to have a district-wide
outdoor carnival to bring families together that's just one idea but our parents community and teachers have so many others that maybe if we can just sit together and come up with some solutions or events to show our children that when parents teachers and staff actually work together beautiful things can happen let's keep the hope and let's keep
pushing forward and give the children the joy and pride of being a chino valley student once again and mr gallagher the meeting is still up for you to take if you would like to speak thank you cindy feusi followed by agnes mazar followed by richard wales stop just stop with all the propaganda it's sickening is this up in all the schools
or just certain ones and which ones you are still going after the young with this cutesy masking of stuffed animals you are still telling them to mask when they should you should be telling them they have the option to unmask the kids can take them off i want this propaganda taken down and taken down now you've done enough damage with these
unlawful ridiculous masks the brainwashing fear-mongering and lies the universal masking requirement is gone you should be jumping for joy if you're for our children this is what your little sign should have looked like mr enfield this was so simple and easy for you to do and you chose to con continue to see these children masked why is it so hard to be positive
you continue to be a follower like a lamb you guys should put your masks back on so we can't see your faces i don't know why you people you four are still sitting on your brains wrong repeated over and over does not and will not ever make it right the simple fact that you were fooled and conned doesn't make you an idiot
what makes you an idiot is when you blatantly refuse to look at the truth and make the conscious decision to believe the lies thank you oh and by the way thank you what is the back and forth move on our meetings everywhere it's like childish games i don't get it thank you agnes mazur followed by richard wales
followed by donna martinez good evening thank you board president members dr enfield i am a parent of a child in the district but i'm actually here today in support of teachers in the district and i am reading excerpts from a letter written by a teacher who could not be here today so this is in her voice i would first like to thank the students
who represent this true spirit of america thank you for being patient understanding and caring for others including your teachers and your family at home we do understand and appreciate the sacrifices you have made for the benefit of all teachers have had many obstacles and you help them provide instruction thank you to our teachers we appreciate your hard work
changing lesson plans from in person to virtual and back against this is a list creating new teaching techniques with masks attending yard sales and thrift stores and purchasing many of your own supplies for lessons and safety caring for your own family while teaching from home teaching students that have had many distractions not being able to take your bathroom
breaks so you won't leave students alone working through recess and lunch breaks using patients when dealing with complaints of parents who don't understand that you have state guidelines to follow and your own fear of contracting the virus and passing it on to family members thank you most of all the school board dr enfield and esther for keeping the
safety of our children as your top priority for following for listening to science and for your patients thank you for listening to us and moving the meetings outside because some refuse to follow school safety guidelines on masking i especially want to thank miss gagne who has taken personal attacks for not having her own children i personally had
infertility issues and know how difficult this is it takes a special person to dedicate their lives to helping other people's children and finally thank you to the teachers union for supporting teachers and staff during this difficult time it's difficult for teachers to concentrate on our students while getting threats or worrying about our own safety thank you for doing your best at
providing a positive and safe learning environment for our teacher and children the cdc and schools can now make the mask mandate optional because of lower numbers i know that there's a possibility that this may not be over but i pray with vaccines medications and our continuing knowledge that we will continue to get back to normal that's all the teachers
words thank you so much for your time thank you richard wales followed by donna martinez followed by caitlyn martinez i want to make an addition to this comment as most people should know mrs garnier has complete authority to remove anyone from this room at any time mr gallagher you don't need state legislation to do that she has the complete power to do so
so i guess we have the majority behind us who have chosen to have someone else speak for them i think i've done that once or twice and i was about 500 miles away so when i choose to come and address you i look you in the face and i tell you how i feel even him yeah but you'll look at me joe right
because i'm a guy you won't look at them at women watch you do it every time hope you enjoyed the letter really too so dr enfield year is coming to an end and you can stare down hope you're writing something good and i could ask you to reconsider how you led this year and all the things that happened this year
well there's no point mrs garnier you're dancing really close to brown axe stuff and well we've got some attorneys now so well you know i'm not the only one that has these and right out you'll get some more so you'll have some more fun shaffer man just retire it just gets worse and worse every meeting it just gets lower and lower
and your behavior becomes more of an embarrassment for you you and you not you mr bridge dr enfield i've been dealing with you since you all started here you've seen these parents haven't gone away for the last year we're going on what four years now and i haven't gone away nearly every year i've tried to extend an olive branch
i'm not going to do it anymore not going to do it at all we got the mask on that's all fine and great we got vaccines the vaccines will go through the legislature but you have things coming down the path that you're not ready for this is nothing so while you may be able to escape bullets on the vaccine because they're
legislated you also have certain powers now given to you by the state and you won't be able to get around those excuses so summer will quiet down everything will be fine and dandy but then school's going to start back up and some of you have terms up some of you are going to be facing some interesting odds
some of you well the board changes thank you donna martinez followed by caitlyn martinez good evening board members i'm thankful for the opportunity to speak tonight i've put my name in on a couple of different board meetings but um i've written something out now that the masks have been finally removed from our children's face we need to address the school climate amongst
our children dr enfield sent out an email urging parents to speak to their students about having compassion on those who continue to wear a mask at school i am disheartened as the growing fear of the mask versus the unmask have continued with the students at school my grandson jacob i've been coming to every board meeting to support him
we both disagree with all of these mandates and i recently attended a church program informing parents of their opportunities to research and choose alternative means of education i don't want to go that route my grandson has needs he has an iep and he needs extra support but if i have to if these mandates come down and things aren't taken care of for our
students and carefully considered all of the bills that are being passed we will leave this district and i'm not alone there's a lot of parents that were at these meetings so thank you thank you caitlin martinez now that we can move forward and we're getting rid of these masks or whatever it is there's going to be some other
hoop that we're going to be in front of us whether it's crt or the transgender stuff there's always going to be a divide and we know that we can work with each other or against each other and you guys have made it clear you guys don't want to work with us that's very evident and we have legislation coming down from the state
that you guys aren't wanting to stand or support us with so thankfully we have people like sonia that's wanting to run to replace people like you that don't want to protect our kids but you guys have an opportunity every single day you wake up to change that and advocate for our kids if kids are scared and they want to wear a mask they
can do that and they can do distant learning but those what about those with ieps in on campus and they're getting pressured or bullied all these stuff because they're not wearing a mask so we're continuing with this and you guys are not leading you guys are allowing it to happen and putting posters up in the schools to
continue with this propaganda and it's ridiculous at some point it's gotta end this is not healthy for our kids it's not a good environment for our teachers the only teachers that are for your guys's crap are the ones that are too scared to come here that's ridiculous they interact with kindergartners all day and parents all day and they're too
afraid to come interact with parents here why i really want to know why they're having the senior citizens come and speak for them i want to know why why can't they be their own voice and you guys aren't leading or are standing up for us in any way shape or form and we can do better we have an
opportunity far more people you said 65 percent of kids at chino hills are still wearing masks that's a bold place lie i don't know where you guys are getting your information from but kids are done with it and they're done with those stupid posters and the vaccine then that's a line in the sand that nobody's going to bend on these parents
are not going to fold on that you know what my aunt just got her booster so excited she got her booster in february praising it you know who's in the hospital right now with six blood clots in her lungs my aunt you want to give it to five-year-olds shame on you guys if you're not going to stand because that's blood on your hands
and you guys put took this position for what to lead or is this a stepping stone because you want to become congress we will not let that happen for you because you are dirtying your name every single decision you make is dirtying your name you can stand for all of our kids but continuing to do nothing isn't going to
work the parents that are supporting you aren't here the ones that are against you are here and we're going to not we won't be going away we're going to continue to fight for this so now is a chance for you guys to really take a stand and lead the masker off lead make sure our kids mental health is a
priority make sure that we can move forward and unite in that stop with a division we can all be an amazing team and we can all do better thank you [Applause] moving on to item one f changes and deletions we are now at changes in deletions pat are there any changes or deletions the following deletion is on
the agenda item two a one is pulled from the agenda thank you pat as item two 2a1 has been pulled from the agenda we are now on to item 2a2 waiver of gpa requirement for extracurricular activities board member andrew cruz recommends the board of education direct the superintendent to implement a temporary gpa waiver participation and extracurricular activities for the
2021-2022 school year are there any speakers none okay seeing as there are no speakers may have a motion so move motion from mr na may i have a second second from mr cruz uh comments questions discussion i mainly did this because you know the kids have been going through a lot [Music] and some of them you know
we're at the moment we're living in a dysfunctional society so when it comes to our children we can make it as normal as possible so i think it's i think it's best to have kids enjoy what they love to do and by the way let me tell you something that's really off and i've been hearing this a couple of
times this i tell a couple of times why do you want your mouth they don't like their face it's so interesting how that transitions from the mask now is a master cover themselves it's so bad when we're done history's gonna show how pathetic we've done in our society and we're going to apologize for stupidity but that's what i want to do board
members those of you that have the heart to give these kids an opportunity to go out fun and play so they can get distracted thank you mr cruz any other comments questions discussion mr bridge well i understand the good intentions of of this by my colleague were three-fourths of the way through the school year the three-fourths of the way where
students had to meet this requirement whether they played football whether they played basketball whether they participated in in drama or or other activities they had to meet this requirement and so now we're going to say that the last nine weeks you don't have to do it how do we explain and how do i as a teacher explain
to those students that have already gone through this well you know you you had to follow it and they're going to say well that's not fair that these other people the next nine weeks have to you know get a break um this is something that if we thought about it maybe brought it up in august when activities were
starting but the way this this says for the 21-22 school year and we're three-fourths of the way through it so i'm i i cannot support this mr nah no mr cruz that's not lights on uh really briefly um i want to echo what mr bridge said and i appreciate the sentiments of this extracurricular activities is not defined
and we do have athletics as part of extracurricular activities if we don't maintain a certain gpa requirement our student athletes are not allowed to play in cif games and so while i understand the intent of this this would disenfranchise every single student athlete who should be entitled after all the hard work they've done this season to go out and play so
i would endorse that and my understanding is that you know many of our students are allowed to practice and be part of the team and be part of that environment and part of that school spirit um but if we were to eliminate or lower this requirement that would deeply impact some of our students who are working towards potentially since we
have such great athletics program cif competition and cif playoffs neither comments or questions mr doll yeah it looks like mr cruz's intention is to just have the students to participate in their practices and and activities not as to being in a team as a cif uh uh playing person um mr rules that people are stating well they
won't be able to pay cif but during this time they could participate being with their teammates okay but you know you know a lot of this has a lot to do with our personality and how we see things in life so you know just the way it's all different types of folks looking at different type of of
how we perceive the world so this is the way i perceive the world i i perceive the world in hope that one person matters that matters to me 100 and it always will matter um i i don't think that anyone wants to exclude students that being said we do have and i don't have the numbers but i
can imagine with four high schools how many student athletes we have currently in competition um i would not want to make a decision as a board that would essentially derail the rest of their seasons um and if we're trying to um i really hate this phrase get back to normal i wouldn't want to derail the progress that these teams have made
and our students have been very resilient and our student athletes i think have demonstrated i mean we have just had some amazing seasons and we've had some of our students to this point in the year just represent this district so beautifully in student athletics i just don't want to deny that opportunity to our spring student athletes mrs camdeva
yes so i just want to clarify so athletes who do not meet this gpa they're still able to participate in the practices in the school spirit that mr cruz talked about but if we were to like lift this requirement then the entire team would not be able to play in cifs is that correct mr dr enfeld can you clarify please
it would all depend it depends on how what's the intent of this because it's not clear to me what the board is asking for but if a student had it below a two-point gpa and played in the game they definitely would have to forfeit that game the other part about it is there is a there's a there is currently a
probationary period for student athletes if their grades drop below at 2.0 they can still practice they cannot participate in the game if the board was to allow them to uh to go beyond that six week probate probationary period then you would be violating the cif rules and you could potentially jeopardize that that team uh being there could be sanctions where those
games could be avoided for for the players so it all depends on exactly what it is that the board wants to have happen and then we can make that determination mr chris what games are you implying are you playing cif games or all games in general yeah the cif games that's because they're in season right now so kids can
play in general games but when it comes to cif that's a different story well all the all those games are basically cif games that they're playing in right now because it's the cif season i think i do understand what i'm saying our sports belong to cif we belong to leagues so all games are cif games you might be
talking about cif playoff games that we are members of cif if we as a district violate cif rules and don't have the same standards of cif our students will get disqualified from any game that they're in so kids that have been practicing so all of our students are able to practice it's who shows up at the games right but if we
lower our standards below cif standards below their guidelines then our students could show up to a game and just get dq'd and so they would have done all that practice and go to our games and not be able to participate so this pop what you propose and i understand i i'm positive that you've either heard from a certain parent or students um maybe
you've gotten some feedback from some personal situations um and you know i think that as a board we should figure out the best way to address that if their students have been excluded from practice and they want to participate in practice like let's figure that out i just don't want to have something on paper that cif looks at and says
now our students are disqualified when they should have every right to play at our games and we don't know what that determination would be from cif so this is just a risk that i don't think we should take for our student athletes or our parents who support them our boosters our teams you know our schools in general
this table i really get a real answer [Music] okay there's a motion from mr not a table the item can i get a second okay so there's a motion on the floor to table the item a motion badge by mr gnaw second by mr cruz so we're going to carry this motion all those in favor of tables motion please

you know in orange county they're they're providing 2021 sports people it's required for them to get an eeg young people giving ekg i mean you have to ask yourself you know cardiac issues this and that and so they're going to look at that you have to ask yourself do they know something that we don't know i mean we do know that
we do that so many athletes have had heart attacks professional athletes i think approximately 400 so maybe we'll have to do this too in chino valley but i have to you know i'm going to give you some you know maybe this is the reason why they're doing this orange county public schools number one deaths among male children
are 83 percent higher than the five-year average since they were given the covet 19 vaccine the surge in sudden deaths now being reported on a daily basis has apparently begun in children under the age of 12. association of myocarditis vaccines in case series of children cardiovascular resonance finding in young adult patients and it just goes on and on
they have to ask me to follow the signs i mean this is for me it's almost like a form of desperation to save children that's the feeling i get i cannot trust the core institutions anymore i cannot trust cdc i can trust nih fda the presidency and the governor because things aren't consistent but yeah you get some of these people
saying this this this like i mean what place are you at what i mean i mean no i majored in biology in irvine but yet i'm a loser and maybe that's why maybe knowing the fact that i'm a loser that i'm able to bring something else deeper then a lot of you people have such egos that you cannot accept that you made a
mistake so maybe you gotta submit yourself and remove your ego and start humbling yourself you know what i mean i mean you know and and it is a form of desperation for me forty fold in adolescent a moder card artist i mean these are publications i mean i have to pay attention to this pfizer proclaims a fourth shot is needed
most likely in the fall dr falchi says that covet vaccines are necessary so what's going to happen in the fall mandates are going to come they're going to force it on our kids you can see what's coming it is so necessary to have the right kind of board member to stop this because because because a lot of parents
are going to leave and i'm going to harp on this harp on this because stuff is coming so like i said my job is really to protect one or the many and i did my job i did my job you know recently pfizer documents came out the first two months 1200 fatalities fda knew but none of the medical officials knew
and no americans knew so how were we able to assess the risk you know this is a vaccine unheard of so many deaths compared the past vaccines and i don't i'm so embarrassed to even call it a vaccine because it's not it's a shot it's inoculation it's a gene therapy and then you've got these insurance agencies from america and germany a 40
increase in deaths among working age people and you you have to think about families even i'm sad satin within my family that we don't do our research we listen to these people thinking that they care for us but they're monsters you know after just a few months the effectancy of booster 3 booster 2 booster 1 weighs down to negative
and what does that mean that means your immune system is under so you're more vulnerable to get sick there was two publications so what i mean you have to get another booster shot it's almost like you need gasoline for a car you're going to need a booster every six months to survive but we noticed something about these shots
they have side effects so if you take the fourth one it's going to repeat and do we know it's going to compound compound and compound so see you i have to be this way and sometimes it's out of control it's totally out of control of how i feel i just do it because i have to i just have to do it
because i know i know deep in my heart what they're doing they're making us sick and they're hurting us that's what they're doing i want to read you these children comments i received them in the email so i'm going to read you i got 23 of them so i'm going to read them to you seventh grader i want to go to junior high at chino
valley but i did not want to wear a mask one thing that made me sad was a lot of students didn't worry about getting sick they say they don't want to show their faces if the district and the all board members would listen to our feelings they would know we're hurting bad please make sure do all you can do so this does not happen
again it's not going to happen again with the right board members this time we're going to give those people n95s so don't have to worry about the rest that show will help [Music] second grader wearing a mask made me feel like i was going to pass out because i couldn't breathe lost my recess to for putting my
mask under my nose because i couldn't breathe i feel better that's it off now you know many kids are having trouble reading couldn't see people's faces and we are adults and we think that's all right fourth grader wearing a mask made me feel bad because it was hard to breathe when it was hot it didn't feel good it feel good to breathe now
that i don't have to wear it anymore of course it's wonderful to breathe we're in a mask and then they're wearing the mask permanently now because they don't like their faces student the math caused anxiety for me made me like to go to school did not like i never got to enjoy junior high most of my ninth grade year of high
school i had to play basketball while wearing my mask it caused me to feel sick after playing i'm so happy to not have to wear it anymore and hope they don't expect me to ever wear it again and we're supposed to save our children ultimately it's our kids that we have to save not so much of the old because it
was always the children and this is not even affecting them but that but that um that pfizer where they were hiding it trying to hide it for 70 years it was three percent fatality and they want to give it to us again in the fall student i think it's better without the mask my face is breaking out less it's also easier to
talk to people when i can't see their student i think it's better without the math because i feel more of a connection with my teachers and other students of course you're seeing their faces expressions all are our lives it's it's in our blood to see people's faces and they smile this was evil people we just don't realize it
i don't know why we don't we just don't because we're good people that's why we're good people student berg sixth grade i hated wearing my mask because my nose ran all the time it also made me have bumps on my face i was sent home for not wearing a mask my teacher would tell me pull up your mask
i'm happy not wearing a mask but i'm getting bullied by the kids who are still wearing masks so kids being indoctrinated telling other kids hey you gotta wear your mask you gotta wear your mask you're free especially in this country i try to sit down and protest the mask because i hated having to wear them all day long and i sat out for a few days
then i was threatened with losing my sport sports are very important to me and it's the only thing i feel normal the thought of losing that too forced me to put the mass back on i felt so free this week without the mass i happen to see most of my friends and teachers faces i don't even want to
go back to wearing a mask student my prince of fig binder made me sit outside for a whole month because i couldn't wouldn't wear a mask some days it was really hot some days cold i want to learn but the masks make me dizzy and tired i don't ever want to wear the mask you know what are we doing to our kids
we're causing them the foundation of having anxiety and and their reality is so different than us they take things so literally serious but we don't think about things like that we just think about our fears but yeah we're going to still die soon and i was put outside by the lunch tables without anyone teaching me how to
do my work i was yelled at and forced to move for sitting next to another student i was continuously mistreated throughout the entire week so i am now going on independent study so kids they weren't even going to sit together because i had to be six feet apart total nonsensical too there was no research on that i think
they got that research from from a science fair a high school science project when i went to school without a mass and i refused to leave the classroom the assistant principal bought brought three security guards to try and intimidate me and then made the entire class go outside in the following class my teacher made me sit in the corner of
the classroom with plexiglass around my desk then in my third period class the teacher threatened to not review everyone's tests with us if we did not put a mask on this caused people in the class to yell at me and bully me to make a mask on and then we went went to the assistant principal office to tell them what
my teacher did to me and what which you did to others i'm gonna tell you all these kids you do that because you're gonna become better and better as you get older because through your pain and through your triumphs you're going to be amazing people so actually i'm glad you're experiencing these pains because this is what becomes leaders
and good people too i lost respect for teachers who quickly took a turn from respecting my right to choose for the last three months of not wearing a mask in class to treating me like a juvenile delinquent it was a confusing change of events i also felt like i was in a prison when they kicked me out of class and told me i could no
longer walk to the office or even you go to the bathroom alone they also told me i could not use my phone and sat where with no teacher instruction yeah you may felt alone but you were never oh you're alone alone this really screws my mind so bad you know something you know in the deepest part of our
lives there's american men out there they're just watching just holding holding themselves but there'll be a trigger point i guarantee you this stuff will stop so ridiculous innocent kids we think it's okay this has to stop in november people because if not it's going to be real bad hey you want to read them go ahead back here
oh i got to read them no no no no no no about alone like everyone was against me even my friends who had masks hanging by their ears as they taunted me i felt intimidated and bullied by my teacher who pulled down her mask to keep me out of the classroom school became unwelcoming and scary place to be
these past four days have been awesome i can see other people faces and my teachers smiling today barely anyone had a mask on and he seemed so much happier at school you know you need to understand my emotions because it's almost like i could feel how these children feel when they're young i think some of you you know you you
could you you could place yourself being a child it justifies how a person would feel emotionally so so for me to get emotional you need to understand where i'm coming from they didn't seem to care about the protest and just kind of ignored us students i feel like we're being segregated against student i felt like i had a committed a
crime we put out in the sun their excuse was that they needed to clean tables but the tables only took 10 minutes to clean but they still left us in direct sun we weren't even allowed to get water or go to restrooms it felt like we were in a concentration camp i was excluded from valentine's day party two i was not allowed to
participate student i feel anxious and scared staff is constantly harassing us to put them on they threatened to send us home or to be sent to principal office soon i felt scared that i had a lot of anxiety i felt like teachers were treating the students that were against masts not only us full credit for our work
you can see their frustration against us for standing up to the mandate and just don't think it's right if if we're okay with the super bowl shoulder to shoulder attendance not wearing masks why isn't it it's okay for us i can't go to the store games parties concerts but i couldn't go to schools without a mask how does that mean how
does that make you any sense and those parents out there that did vaccinate the kids i i can understand i do but i think it's our obligation as parents grandfathers that we defend the defenseless that is so critical okay we do whatever we can i say this because this is not going to stop people it's just not going to stop
and i think little by little people have been recognizing because through friends you notice that people are getting sick by this and you're beginning to believe that something's going on but when it comes to your children if any harm is done to your children i mean how you're going to feel about that so now i feel anxiety and scared because
i'm constantly being harassed about it from staff members or like i could call them the mass police horrible i hated them from or whatever i felt like they were just trying to make it as uncomfortable for the students as they could so you know for the next five months i'm not going to stop i'm going to keep on
rolling like it was yesterday but there was there was something i have to say dr enfield somebody wants to know this they want to know who's who's the one that has the say on which posters are put up in schools and i like these new signs that mass are strongly encouraged just i like to know this maybe i'll get this from from from
tomorrow but it is true i mean why do we encourage that free choice okay well thank you i'm done thank you mr cruz mr see if you could get copies from mr cruz about this student's letters the emails that he has received and make copies and and hand them over them to uh uh uh site uh leaders uh at the
principal's meeting i think it is uh imperative that site leaders they need to know what is happening on their campus and find ways to build bridges not walls to the studio would that be possible with dr anfield yeah sometimes mr cruz says to me yeah so go get you during those letters okay i think it's very crucial um
because it just happened to me i talked to a gentleman jacob costa from graves and he actually had shared with me the real experience with the students and and that is a bias and that is a division and that is totally uncalled for those things there are not bad things are happening in tick tock and sns but we
cannot allow them to happen on our campuses so we need to place a stop to that i'd like to also ask dr enfield to have our site and me to have a meeting with our young gentleman jacob costa and find the ways to educate other students dr enfield have a meeting have the site leader have a meeting with
this student and come up with some resolution uh and and listen to uh his obstacles that he's facing in daily basis and see how he could put the stuff to that it could be just one see there's a something happening um in in commercial field if if people get a one phone call or one response usually represents
thousand one phone call one response usually represents about 1000 responses and this from the posters so when we have a student who actually would come and address these issues we cannot discount it as a one single out one issue so we have to take it as a whole and we need to be proactive so i'd like to thank our little
uh student junior high from briggs to come here and address that issue that pertains not only for you but for many students in our school district so thank you for coming and hopefully these things could be resolved soon and second i this another request from one of the parents and also our parents being proactive we're talking about junior high leg
start next year and they had a concern over transportation um and our parents some of our parents don't have lenient schedules as to showing up for the work so if we're able to provide for those students who's been dropped off early in the morning like regular hours if we could have some type of supervision or program early morning
program for our junior high schools would uh really help those student population and parents so i'd like to have dr anfield to look into that and talk to our staffs and and this could be a real real help for those parents and our students and lastly thank you for parents to bring up mental health issues again um
i have been trained several months ago the the largest health on campus right now for all of our students i mean all of our adults including some of them are security guards some of them are office workers many of them are teachers and counselors mental health issues i think it's due to the pandemics it's due to the fear anxiety
and all the combination so if we would have a study session i would like to have maybe invite an expert that who has a deep knowledge on a successful program on high schools or or junior high school setting and even elementary schools and what we could do to help our student body the city of chino has shared with me before that
they see the numbers growing in like three four times of regular time of needing help for our teenagers mental health so it is very crucial issue and as an adult we may be able to cope better than our students but if we can find some quick solutions and long-term solutions to assist our students i think it will
be very beneficial so i'd like to uh thank my parents uh to sharing that you're concerned with us tonight and i'd like to see that uh synthetization being on schedule in timely manner that we might report thank you thank you mr now to carry on mr na's comments about mental health in preparation for such study session i think it'd be helpful
for the board and this information to be shared with the community an audit of all the programs that we have i think that we're talking about mental health potentially in the context of issues related to the pandemic but there's persistent issues with bullying in our schools adequate supports for bullying age-appropriate curriculum as well as supports there's also persistent issues that our
students face and so i think it'd be helpful to have sort of a holistic view of what services we currently offer that were you know services of the district services that may have been enhanced by any sort of state or federal funding just so we have a comprehensive view when we have that conversation of what we're talking about
secondary to that a big issue that i'm starting to hear about more and more and this has been an endemic issue in the district is child care i think there's an assumption being made that people are not back at work but i think that's a fallacy i think a lot of people have been back at work and have
persistent problems with child care there's been a lot of issues with child care providers being able to operate i do think we need to look at how we're currently staffing some of our programs before school and after school on our campuses and make sure that we're ready i do see a lot more companies are sending people back to work and we need
to be prepared for that i think assuming that people are now just going to work from home is going to really harm our families in this community who rely on the schools to provide more 365 services so that's something else that you know i'd like to tease into a little more and dr enfield i'll follow up on that and finally also
on transportation um you know i think that this board made it clear we weren't fans of sp328 i think there's a lot of issues with it you know unfortunately it looks like it's here to stay with that being said i do think we need to really think about the impacts in the beginning of next school year for everyone in our community of the
implementation of late start times principally transportation i think we often forget how spread out the chino valley is it encompasses chino chino hills and south ontario we have families commuting either which way across this area with traffic patterns it's not easy to get around and so i would endorse that we start exploring in the next month maybe some flexibilities
to our transportation policies i do think that while the state might not be flexible in its approach i think we need to be flexible in our approach with both child care and transportation starting with our schools this summer that argue around and then into the academic year starting in august and with that i wish everybody a peaceful weekend a happy st patrick's
day and i adjourn this meeting at 7 13 pm
