conference with Labor negotiators Act and csca no action was taken that requires public disclosure thank you leading the Pledge of Allegiance tonight is Mr Cruz please stand up we are now at comments from our student representative Mrs King board president Garnier members of the board superintendent Enfield and distinguished guests I hope everyone had a safe Halloween the Ayala Park annual

Halloween Spooktacular event had about 4 000 plus people who showed up to its partake in the festivities thank you to everyone who went it is great to see our community coming together for the holidays other congratulations to all of our high school sports throughout the district on making me to CIF it's great to see so many different teams from each

School playing and advancing mentioned last meeting but another good luck to our uh all seniors looking into college applications wishing everyone good luck I encourage all high schoolers not only seniors to look and apply to scholarships as early as possible there are some that are like specifically for underclassmen and it's really going to help you when you get to be a senior

looking into colleges um lastly do students always remember that your voice is heard whether you're physically here or having someone else read your comment you are always heard please stand up and speak uh students always remember your sorry you're always heard please benefits before you think is right um I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys their three-day weekend next

weekend thank you thank you Miss King we are now at comments from employee Representatives is a representative here from Act uh seeing none Mr Danny Hernandez from csca thank you president gagne board members superintendent infield cabinet staff and Community my comments tonight will be brief um I wanted to start by recognize the outstanding achievement Chino Valley Unified students made on the California

assessment performance and progress exam Dr Enfield had sent out an email through Aries to staff in the community but CVUSD students increased performance in English language arts the students also outperformed or did much better locally than Statewide in mathematics teachers Administration cabinet CVUSD board classified staff and parents all helped to achieve this it's all greatly appreciated with the holiday season fast approaching

if you are so able please consider donating to a local charity or volunteering your time some of those sometimes those are in need maybe our own neighbors and there are always those that are always more for we are more fortunate than many others lastly it always seems that we go straight from Halloween to Thanksgiving during the holiday season

but Veterans Day is Friday November the 11th I hope that we can remember Veterans Day and the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces and their families for their dedicated service in defending our country the fact that we have the right to assemble and discuss openly are disagreements and at times displeasure is a right not all have it is greatly

appreciated each and every day thank you and have a pleasant evening thank you [Applause] we will now hear from miss Emily Lau champ president-elect good evening president Garnier school board members cabinet Chino Valley Community rather funny thing happened my comments are very very similar to Mr Hernandez as I was sitting there I was like well check check and check so

um I will be very brief I too want to congratulate our district all of the hard work that we put in that was put in by our staff our students our cabinet who made an excellent plan going through our covid years because we did make great gains and did what was right for kids and so I am very appreciative of that as

I assure everybody that works so hard to to benefit our students so congratulations to all of us for that um also wanted to point out what's in addition to the things that Mr Hernandez says that next week many of our school administrators and School site team members are going to be attending a PBIS showcase by the San Bernardino County of

education and they'll be recognizing the comp the accomplishments of all of our schools be on the lookout when you visit schools for bronze silver gold and platinum trophies because almost every school in our district is receiving a an award for the great work that they're doing in PBIS which is you know positive School supports a lot of that comes from

the decisions that were made here with hiring counselors and having counselors at every School site it's done um amazing it's amazing to have that resource on our campuses and it's just great for kids so thank you very much everybody and have a good evening thank you foreign Commons from the audience on items not on the agenda Pat are there any requests

to speak on non-agenda items Madam president Dr Enfield I'm requesting a special meeting for the process of fundraising the approvals because Don Lugo grad Knight booster or endorsing Bingo fundraiser called Bingo Queen big queen bingo that apparently is open to all ages groups and my concern is how are we hosting an event like a drag show which is for adult audiences thank you

is one second okay uh Mr Mr Cruz has just made a request um Mr Schaefer [Music] okay Mr Schaefer uh we will dispense with that request and come back to it at the end of the meeting um is Mr crew Mr Cruz let the record reflect that Mr Cruz appears to have left the diocese so give me one second I'm gonna be doing

the time here too so I'm kind of DJing give me one moment here speakers will be um well they're seven seven you said seven requests to speak on agenda thank you speakers will be called in the order the request was received please listen for your name and be prepared to approach the podium any comments on agenda items

will be accepted during consideration of that item once the board is commenced deliberations on an issue speaker cards will not be accepted the board is very interested in your comments but please bear in mind that the board typically does not respond to comments during this time on the agenda as it is reserved specifically for public comments individual members May respond during

board comments at the end additionally the board does its best to support the Public's right to address selected officials it is also important that the board conduct its business in orderly and fair fashion as provided in board bylaw 9323 in the event that unusual amount of speaker cards is submitting for any item the board will hear up to

30 minutes of comments in the case of non-agenda items the board can if it chooses hear the remainder of comments after all business has been conducted further at this bylaw States in part individual speakers will be allowed three minutes to address the board a speaker may not use the podium for purposes other than addressing the board directly there are no further comments a

speaker will be considered to have relinquish his or her allotted three minutes this means that speakers cannot donate their time to another speaker which in effect can give a speaker more than three minutes the exception is when non-english speakers require a translator speakers have three minutes to address the board limit remarks to new points begin comments at the green light the

yellow light means that you have 30 seconds left the red light means that your time is over please adjust the microphone as necessary please refrain from making comments while speakers are at the podium and please note that board policy 1312.1 outlines the procedure for anyone who wishes to file a complaint against a district employee our first speaker

Ray Alexander followed by Max Ibarra followed by Layla Malachi Malecki sorry evening board members school is a safe place where everyone comes to learn socialize with friends and build the foundations needed to succeed in life school can also be a safe place for the students who reside in the one in three households where their parents do not

accept them for who they are many children who identify as part of the lgbtq plus Community face tremendous pushback not only from society but their own families many of the children in those households are at risk of physical or verbal abuse and homelessness which has resulted in the increase in mental health issues it has been proven that

accepting schools lower the rate of suicidal ideation and attempts even with an unaccepting household by a significant amount contrary to popular popular belief transgender students do not receive any gender performing care from their teachers as it is illegal however they will use students correct names and pronouns to show that they are welcome and accepted unlike some students in their households with

guardians who refuse to accept something new because of misled fear and ignorance I myself and I am a non-binary student in this District who personally has asked my teachers before the school year started just to use my correct name and pronouns not only not none of them had any problem using my name and none of my classmates had any

trouble adjusting to using my preferred name Not only was it an easy switch for my teachers to make it was also a decision I made for myself without any input for others telling me what my identity was students in the district or any child for that matter has the right to come to their own decision about their identity and more importantly have

the right to feel safe and accepted while learning as it is the only way we can perform to the best of our ability especially if they aren't accepted at home it is estimated that 45 of all lgbtq plus youth has considered attempting suicide and one in five transgender students and non and gender non-conforming youth have actually committed attempted committing suicide

foreign this is higher than any sister any other cisgender peers due to continuous pushback when saying this I want to make it clear that nobody up here is saying that mental health of our cisgender peers does not matter all that we are saying is that we are fighting that we want to fight for equal rights and treatment which are you which you are

required to provide us by law one simply cannot sacrifice the mental health of one group of students for another as it is unfair and unethical especially because we do not deserve it like everyone else in the school district we are human you don't have to love us but you have to accept us you cannot spread you can spread all the misinformation

you want but at the end of the day we are still going to be here we're tired and we're angry of the fighting to be treated equal opening ourselves up to hearing so many foul and hurtful ideologies and assumptions about our existence existence that stems from this information at word meetings is not only harmful to our mental health but to our

physical safety we're kids and should be enjoying our youth right now just like every other student but we can't do that because we are here fighting to be heard and when we're at home we're worried that the little rights we will have we do have will be taken away from us after speaking today I encourage all of you to

start making decisions that will protect all of your students in the district either from physical or mental harm and start actually discussing policies to help further our education thank you thank you Maxi Barra followed by Leila Malecki followed by Darlene Berg can I start uh good evening everyone my name is Max I'm a trans student in CVUSD I'm here to

address the current state of our board meetings particularly the Hostile attitudes towards student speakers and the rampant transphobia and homophobia that have been president that have been present there have been multiple instances of derogatory attitudes and hate speech towards trans people and public comments I hate that I even have to say this but it should be made clear

to everyone in our community that hate speech should not be tolerated especially in our school district in the past year there have been agenda items that Target trans and queer students an agenda an agenda item last year that that targeted trans students went against the law and still we had two board members who voted yes on it people

have spoken against these items citing statistics about mental health and suicide rates in trans students how they would negatively affect an already targeted group of kids how we don't want transphobia in our school district or Community but frankly I'm sick of having to do that I'm tired of having to come up here and defend our rights especially

when they're already legally protected as students don't you think we'd rather be doing anything else trying to finish our homework take care of our extracurricular sports or just resting from the school week I'm saying it again for the people in the back we shouldn't have to be up here a student speaking to defend our legally protected rights on

October 6th there was an information item that had the line the false and controversial claim that men can be women it must be treated as such this is the type of transphobic language that shouldn't be tolerated in our boardroom in public comments there have also been concerns about student privacy and false claims that students can receive trans

Health Care from their teachers let me make this clear right now that's not happening that's illegal and it also needs to be made clear that for nine years now California law has required that student that trans students can use the facilities and play on the sports teams of their gender identity regardless of their sex assigned at birth that's law cbusd has to follow

that we can't change that no matter we just have to follow the law we can't change that what we need to do is we need to focus on creating solutions to issues that students actually you care about one of these issues is sexual assault prevention now I know a lot of people targeting trans rights have said that they're doing it for student safety

but I'm fed up with sexual assault prevention only being talked about when trans rights are being attacked especially when trans students are more likely to be sexually assaulted I haven't known anyone who's been assaulted by a trans person in our district but I know several people who have been sexually harassed and assaulted in Open Spaces like the

library or the quads we need to be taking more measures in our district to address this it clearly means a lot to both students and parents we owe it to our students and everyone in our community to use board meeting time for issues we care about we shouldn't have to be up here citing statistics about trans health and suicide just to make

sure that we have our legally protected rights still in this District thank you thank you Layla Malecki followed by Darlene Berg followed by Krista landgrath hello everyone I'm Layla a freshman here at the BST Academy at Chino I've always been extremely deeply connected to this district from working on stock last year for mental health advocacy and student

voices to watching these board meetings and recordings but this is different I found comfort in this District but although most of it is credited towards the opportunities here majority of it is because of the students last board meeting on October 6th was the first board meeting I attended in real life and I was appalled I saw aggression and

tension and it hurt me to see people who were advocating for us students who were heckling at students just stating opinions yelling slamming books and more furthermore I was shocked when I was told that my generation is going downhill and an out of the blue comment that these heels I'm wearing were made by men not women by standing not

standing board members everything I'm mentioning along with continuously continuous instances I've seen is harassment this is a board for school a school that caters to diversity of all students making a district with humility Civility and safety I don't feel safe with these settings especially at these meetings with shouting heckling and more for that I ask to do more at these board meetings

if us students can stand and speak with respect consideration not yelling not slimming books and not walking out then so can adults yeah this isn't just about safety this is about student voices being heard the district sends out yearly surveys to collect feedback and here you have an environment where you can hear student feedback directly even though it's hard

for students to come here and be educated about these meetings I know several students who would love to be here and share these ideas I ask that this board of education establishes a system for high school students at least high school students to be able to Advocate more and at least be educated about what's going on on these board

meetings I love this district and I'm proud to be here but remember that this district is home to so many diverse and unique voices do not suppress these voices do not muffle them these voices will always be here and it is absolutely sickening to see so many people trying to take it down so please listen to us thank you

thank you Darlene Berg followed by Crystal land graph followed by Kyle pennett good evening I want to address some of the inaccuracies and Miss information that has been shared in past school board meetings I want to start with some heartbreaking statistics suicide is the second leading cause of death among children under 18 and of those young people lgbtq plus youth are four times

more likely to consider and attempt suicide fifty percent of lgbtq plus teen seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year and 18 percent actually made a suicide attempt in the past year a 2016 review of research found 17 percent of LGB adults had attempted suicide during their lifetime compared to only 2.4 percent of the general U.S population lgbtq plus youth are not any

more prone to Suicide risk because of their sexual orientation or gender identity but rather placed at a higher risk because of how they are mistreated and stigmatized in society they experience rejection or lack of support from their family members much more often than their heterosexual peers the feelings of isolation or otherness that often accompany adolescents are magnified for lgbtq plus teens Suicide

Prevention and lbg2q youth is critical parents teachers mentors and policy makers must help ensure that lgbtq plus youth receive ongoing support and access to mental health care care resources this is why schools want to allow students to have space for confidential conversations with teachers and staff confidential conversations at a student's request are not grooming as Sonya Shaw had stated in the last board

meeting to describe the creating safe space training Junior High teachers went through grooming is a term associated with child sexual abuse and refers to a process adults use to make it easier to introduce and violate children with sexual interactions to insinuate that we have an entire District of teachers learning how to groom a child is truly disgusting in an unbelievable claim

these trains are helping our teachers learn how to create safe spaces for all of the kids in our district and someone who can't see that should definitely not be representing us to very drastically different things the 2022 survey found that fewer than one-third of transgender and non-berry youth say they live in a gender-affirming home having teachers and mentors that are willing to help

support transgender and non-binary youth will literally save lives these challenges can be particularly overwhelming for younger adolescents and having having an adult or someone they trust to talk to will again save lives the state nor the school want to parent your children Title IX and other similar School trainings are efforts to provide safer environments for all of our

students and kids this is not a parenting issue this is an opportunity to support every member of our Chino Valley School District at the October 20th meeting Sonia Shaw said the training called why creating a lgbtq plus safe space matters was disgusting what you're doing to our children referred to it as this grossness creating an environment of acceptance

and open openness in an environment where every student teacher and staff member feels like they matter is a beautiful thing it is ironic that we are hearing some parents say they do not want their children raised by the state or the school while at the same time wanting to create rules to erase my family friends and colleagues and doing

it by disingenuously spreading lies makes it even more disgusting thank you Chris [Applause] Christa land graph followed by Kyle pennant followed by Amanda Swagger thank you I'd like to introduce myself my name is Krista landgraf and I've been an educator in CVUSD for 25 years I was brought up in a family of Educators my father was a university Professor who

specialized in curriculum my grandmother was an elementary school teacher it has been my understanding that public education is an opportunity for all individuals to have the right to attend school and learn something new each and every day public education unlike its counterpart of private education is meant to be open to all students we as educators are committed to teach our students

regardless of any personal opinions we may hold part of the beauty of public education is that we are open to providing the same opportunities for all students from a wealth of diverse backgrounds to partake in diverse learning experiences this is truly the Cornerstone of what public education is I'm proud to say that my father worked alongside Dr Martin Luther King in the

1950s and wrote his dissertation on desegregation of schools in East St Louis the idea that public education is by its very nature something that is open to all what we are witnessing today in cvsd is an attempt by members of this board to block educational rights for some students based on potential fears and threats they imagine will occur we are

no longer a public education system that believes in segregation of certain students we have come a long way from such biased and harmful ideologies cesd cpusd has no business moving backwards the United States Department of Education takes seriously the idea of potential discrimination and is clearly delineated areas of potential discrimination within schools the federal civil rights law in the United

States that was enacted as part of Title IX of the education Amendments of 1972 prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government it is not the office of civil rights that is the issue it is the individual's personal beliefs and bias judgments that believe some students are worth more than others

school board members as with any public servant need to provide opportunities for all students not just those they personally see worthy this after all is public education which is founded on the belief that all students deserve the right to learn we are no longer living in a segregated world and cvsd board and candidates running for public office

should not be allowed to interject who will be the beneficiary of their public education if that is their goal there are many private schools that are readily embrace them the resolution 2022 2023-19 opposing any discrimination discrimination law titled nine is in and of itself discrimination and must not be condoned by a Public Service public education school board thank you for

your attention thank you Kyle pennant followed by Amanda Swagger Community thank you for listening on the night of November 10th in the year 1938 a Darkness descended upon my mother's Homeland Jewish homes shops schools and hospitals were ransacked and destroyed synagogues burned hundreds died their broken bodies tossed like trash in the streets it was the night of broken glass the opening

act of the Holocaust how did this happen I can tell you how it began it began with words hateful words heedlessly spoken words like pigs parasite sub-human dirt monster and evil the language of Nazi propaganda when we use similar words to describe someone who is of A different race national origin religion sex gender identity or political opinion we

demonize them and demonizing is simply another word for dehumanizing it's cancerous of the human spirit it's destructive of the Soul what are some of the words that I have heard recently in my community from parents and pastors groomers Democrats pedophiles human compost evil demons monster that last word board was used on a parrot's platform to describe a child

who is a National Merit scholar semi-finalist at Chino Hills High School other words were used to describe teachers it's the language of hate it's dehumanization soldiers in Imperial Japan who abuse Korean women as sex slaves practice dehumanization American slave holders practice dehumanization Isis terrorists who threw gay people off of buildings practiced dehumanization Vladimir Putin practices it daily

and the Nazis of course were Masters this board and speakers at this Podium and adults in this community need to set a better example be respectful be responsible avoid insults work to keep all our children safe and guard your heart our young people hear you they hear all of us please choose words carefully or we risk burying human decency in a pit of

Darkness you know everybody's here tonight loves these children you care or you wouldn't be here but love is gentle and love is kind in the words I'm reading and seeing and hearing in some places in my Christian Community are not thank you thank you Amanda Swagger [Applause] good evening board president Shafer Dr Enfield cabinet you guys all know me

I've been here up multiple times a few days ago I was at a Wind Ensemble rehearsal in Reno Valley with a fine group of musicians that I play with on a weekly basis many of them are teachers in various districts and the word that I heard was what the I'm not going to say the word is going on in Chino Valley

Unified of course and they go what is with this agenda item they're bringing up now I say that because a week ago I had the privilege of speaking in front of a president or Governor newsom's board on special education on the areas of specialty parliamentary procedure part of the discussion I had with them was about how Parliament procedure we

respects the rights of the minority each of us have a right under parliament's procedure to speak to our opinion but that is our opinion when we take a vote we say the vote of the group part of parliamentary procedure is not making motions that bring repute to the organization as a whole when I spoke to the board and gave my

two-hour apartment procedure presentation to them one of the things I talked about was agenda items and creating agenda items for a board and a discussion I make every year is a discussion about a board who brings negative repute to them through their motions it is very important that we realize that we can all have our own opinions

whether they're against or for the majority of individuals we can even voice those opinions that's our right under the First Amendment but we need to be very careful about what our words say to everyone else when I told them I work for the best District ever I love working for Chino Valley Unified School District I have to

remember that what I say is my own opinion what each of you say is your own opinion please next time you create an agenda item please consider what that agenda item will do to the broad variety out there please take the moment to think about what we'll do to our district if we pass something of that nature environment

procedure there's a rule called objection to the consideration of the question a two-thirds vote can get rid of an agenda item without a vote please consider this when these agenda items come on the agenda next time for both us and the lowest most digital energy people in our district thank you for your time have a great night thank

you is that it that's it thank you on on agenda items okay we are now at change and deletions Pat are there any changes or deletions the following deletion is on the agenda item 2a1 resolution 2022 2023-19 opposing President Biden's executive order to make changes to Title IX with regard to gender is pulled from the agenda thank

you [Applause] foreign we are now at action items we're at item 2B facilities planning and operations timeline on naming a preserved School number two recommend the Board of Education approve the timeline on the naming of preserve School number two boarding confu community members before I ask for public comments let me read the actual timeline for clarity and for

those who don't have the background item before them beginning on November 4 2022 the public will be notified through the local news media the district social media accounts and the district website of a 30-day Windows to submit names comments and recommendations on this request upon the conclusion of this 30-day window at the next regularly scheduled board meeting December 15 2022 the board

shall hold a public hearing on the proposed names received and entertain public comments at the following regularly scheduled board meeting January 19 2023 the item shall come before the board the board will again entertain public comments and take action on the item Pat are there any requests to speak there are none with that may I have a motion so Move

know I wasn't going to make any comments tonight but I want to change that I'm going to first of all thank all of our students most have left but I want to thank you guys for being here tonight for speaking up and I want you also to know that the ignorant comments and opinions of some in this community that some to

speak at this board and some that said on the end of the diocese down there do not represent the vast majority of this community and the majority of this current board okay those are those of us that are sitting up here still at this meeting are proud of you guys we support you guys like we support all of our

students this is a position to support the entire District all students all staff not those that agree with us and those that approve what we're doing okay so I want you guys to know that you do have some support the second thing is I I'd like to just comment real briefly on the fact that the particular board member that brought

tonight's resolution forward and the other one that supports it um are obviously absent um says a lot about the actual resolution and this is a lot about their character and I'll conclude with that [Applause] Mr Bridge thank you I I too want to uh second uh some of those comments by by Mr Schaefer this has we're here for all students

my wife and I wouldn't have taught over 30 years in this District if we weren't here for all students and why I'm sitting here now because I'm so with that and I do want to thank those that did speak out tonight I appreciate your comments a couple of things that uh want to just highlight uh I know some of us are are

thinking right now we're kind of looking at the clock and and saying well there's no way we can get to Newport Harbor High School at seven o'clock because Ayala High School and and Chino High start the CIA football playoffs uh tonight and tomorrow uh yala high school right now is probably warming up getting ready to kick off at seven o'clock

against Corona del Mar High School down at Newport Harbor High and tomorrow Chino high place Capistrano Valley Christian at Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita and I just want to say congratulations to them for making the playoffs and good luck to both of them last week I also attended the Chino Hills Oaks Christian CIF quarterfinal girls volleyball game match

at Chino Hills High School it was a great and very intense match with Chino Hills losing three close games to the number one seed in that division but it was an exciting and and I do want to congratulate the team on the season that they had and for making it that far I also want to add congratulations to the Don Lugo girls

volleyball team for winning their league championship and if there have been others other teams that that were successful that I wasn't able to find out about I apologize for that in in the future if you have any uh things like that please let me know and I'll be happy to to bring it up you can tell sports are kind of my my thing

um but it's always been that way even when I was teaching in this District I was you know either coaching or doing the uh the yard yard markers at uh at the football Games Etc because I just enjoy it and I think it's it's great when students see their teachers participate in other things outside of the classroom

whether it be uh at plays whether it be at school dances whether it be the the prom which is always enjoyable for us to to do just things like that I think it really pays off when you get back into the classroom on Monday and and they recognize that fact and I know they appreciate it um also one other thing I was at the uh

the Chino uh Covino football game last last week in the in the game for the league title and it was great to see the crowd and everything there that that evening then um a little more academic stuff uh last week I attended the uh 2022 fall joint meeting at the Riverside County Office of Education for sponsored by the Riverside County

school board members and also the San Bernardino County school board members it was a very good meeting it was the first one they've done in person since I've been elected because of covet and so it was great to hear some of the speakers from both the county superintendents also speaker from AXA speaker from csba and also to see some

board colleagues that I I've known and connect with them and couple them did did ask about uh what was coming up on our agenda so it you know words words getting around people people notice and so just to let you know that uh also I know that Mr Hernandez mentioned that next Friday is uh is Veterans Day and and I certainly agree

with his comments and also wanted to say that while you're enjoying uh taking a day off that uh uh take the time to to thank a veteran either in your family or or somebody that you just see in this in the store or restaurant thank them for their service I know I do that for my brother for his uh 34 years in the in

the Navy and with that uh that concludes my comments thank you thank you Mr Bridge Dr Enfield uh Dr Enfield has no comments um I was going to give a very brief comment about chamber events this weekend I will get there but I feel that I'm going to make a little more involved comments this evening I think it is so important to treat

everybody with dignity and respect I think that's a fundamental thing I grew up here I love living here and I think the majority of people that's how they treat each other I think this is a very Community focused Community not to be redundant but I have seen nothing until the last couple years in my experience here are people being anything but

helpful and supportive they want to see the area Thrive and I've that's been my experience here since 1981. um it really saddens me that we have students coming into meetings who don't feel like they belong in this community because when I grew up here I never ever felt that way I felt this was a great place to grow up it's why I've stayed

here even going to school and coming back I love living here I love Chino Hills I love Chino I love south Ontario I just I love the whole area it's great and so it really just heartens me that students 20 something years later are not having the same experience and I really don't care about regardless of what your background is every student in

this District should feel safe and welcome in this community and more importantly safe and welcome in our schools so it's frightening to me that we have students coming into meetings saying they don't feel safe or welcome at our Public Schools so regardless of what your beliefs are on certain things our job as a board is to make sure that

at a minimum our students feel safe and welcome in our schools this board has become so politicized and I'm sure there are people watching right now that have their views on why that is but we're not here to be political we're here to follow the law we're here to run the district and make sure that our teachers can teach our students can

learn and our parents are hurt that is our job on this board to leave a meeting because the majority of the audience doesn't agree with you or is saying things that you don't agree with that that is just it it just smacks of disrespect for the people that are in the room we've all sat up here and

listened for over two years to comments disparaging all of us on this Dice and have not gotten up and left a meeting because we didn't like what we were hearing that is part of the job we are elected officials and if you don't like the job then don't do it anymore but that is our job is to listen to people

even when they don't agree with you I'm more concerned though that we are having an election around this this is my only comment I will ever make about the election because I'm totally opposed to electioneering on the diocese this is ridiculous how this election has gotten so nasty it is a school board election for a group of people that runs

Public Schools it is one of the nastiest things I've ever seen in this entire area there are people running for congress there are people running for the senate in California those races are less contentious even the gentleman Tony Thurman running for State superintendent again is not facing as contentious of a race as a suburban school district in a

city that I wish more people knew about because a lot of people tell me you live in Chico and I have to correct them no I live in Chino um this is this is the bounds are ridiculous regardless of your political views this has just become ridiculous and I really hope that a couple days from now we can close however the

results come out we can close this nasty chapter because it's not the Chino Valley and frankly you know sitting here this evening I think this comes back to what has happened in this boardroom has trickled down to our school sites we've heard several students this evening say that and if we're going to not listen to those students and realize that what

happens here impacts those students then we're not doing our job on a more positive note with students this weekend we do have a kids entrepreneur fair as well as a pitch competition the Chamber of Commerce is hosting at the shops at Chino Hills we have over 10 teams from 7th through 12th grade who'll be competing for Grant Awards to support

their businesses if you do happen to be at the shops or can make a special trip please go support these students it is so they've worked very hard to pitch their business ideas and they really do need the community support and people out there cheering them on as they go ahead and do this and finally I would

like to thank all of our members of the armed services and our veterans for all the work that they do I really do believe that oftentimes they are overlooked in the community for what they have done but the reason that we're able to be here and have a public discussion the reason we're able to have free and fair elections is because those

men and women stepped up and represented our our country and so I want to wholeheartedly thank our veterans in our community and and our active members on duty and with that I will adjourn the meeting at 6 44 pm [Applause]
