printed agenda conference with legal counsel existing litigation three cases student Discipline matters Public Employee appointment Elementary School assistant principal Junior High School assistant principal High School assistant principal director axis and Equity coordinator access inequity and assessment coordinator expanded learning and support services and coordinator Equity diversity and student Support Services conference with Labor negotiators Act and csca and Public

Employee discipline dismissal release the board appointed Brandi nario as assistant principal at Briggs K-8 effective date to be determined by a vote of 4-0 with Bridge absent Cruz Monroe Na and Shaw voting yes no further action was taken which requires public disclosure thank you Pat tonight's Pledge of Allegiance will be led by one of our principals Dr B

please stand place your right hand over your heart ready begin to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you Dr B . we're now on to my favorite part recognitions tonight's recognitions start with three of our amazing high

schools Ayala High School Chino high school and Chino Hills High School principals and and admin if you would like please join me at the podium [Applause] oh it's fixed now thank you for being here tonight um we asked Mrs yarboy Mr Miller and Dr B and the rest of you amazing crew to join us tonight to recognize the

achievement that their respective School staff teachers admin classified personnel and without a doubt the hard work of students and yes supportive parents schools achieve status on the prestigious U.S news and world report for the best high high schools if they are in the top 40 nationally Ayala High School Chino High School in Chino Hills High School made that marks

by qualifying to be ranked on the U.S news how amazing is that in 2017 we had zero high schools ranked to now having three in the United States Ayala is in the top 10.9 percent Chino very amazing Chino Hills High School is in the top 11.6 percent and Chino high schools in the top 34 percent what an honor you guys are amazing and

you know our community loves you and supports you principals we would love to hear how you achieved your success or any kind of comments we can just pick on Chino Hills High School because he's standing proud laughs in line oh okay well I I think I would just say thank you to the district to the board to our cabinet members to our

community uh most importantly I'd like to thank our staff uh the counselors the teachers the students it's it isn't one person it is a community uh I'm just grateful that we're able to take time at a board meeting to recognize the hard work of our students and the efforts that they've put on or put in for our

school to be able to receive this accomplishment so thank you for acknowledging us so yeah I just I I want to reiterate what Dr B said and uh just say thank you to to our our Board of Education to our cabinet um it's it is actually 100 a team effort all the way across the board from the the district aligned

professional development that we do and and the services I also want to thank our our staff outside um because the students don't feel safe at school we have some of our security officers and our police officers out there if they don't feel safe at school they can't achieve and we know that so you're a big part of this as well and I

want to thank our community um to especially on behalf of Chino High School to to to vote to approve um you know the the funding for our new facilities and to upgrade our facilities not just at Chino high school but across the board just speaks to the tremendous commitment that this community has made to our our schools and to our kids and I

want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Chino high school we really appreciate all the support and to our board and everybody so thank you so much thank you I'd also like to say thank you thank you thank you to all the parents community members and also faculty and staff on

the site and also in the district we could not have done it without collaboration and communication and commitment to serve our students here in Chino Valley Unified School District thank you thank you thank you board members also thank you for believing in us and trusting in us we do thank you from the bottom of our heart for

everything Ayala High School would not be a yellow high school without the parents and the students I'd like Miss Taylor to stand up come forward she does not want to come forward but she's going to have to and she's going to tell you a little bit more about some of the accomplishments that Ruben es Ayala High School students

faculty and staff have accomplished over the last year thank you thank you miss your boy um we have been working hard at Ayala and I think our students and faculty and staff and some of our accomplishments is we Golden Bell last year for our CTE engineering program we have been nominated for this year for our CTE for

the Golden Bell award for our counseling Roadshow program as well we have our PBIS first High School Platinum award so we're very excited about that um all of our Sports programs all of our drama Performing Arts programs so we're very honored and very excited to be part of the U.S news and Chino Valley Unified School District so

thank you and then we have MS Durham on programs Mr probably different on programs thank you Mrs Darboy so um we have a very large special education population and we are working very hard to make sure that we have a hundred percent um just lost my train of thought sorry 100 um in completing everything on time and

we're working in communicating with our parents we have good relationships with them and we just make sure that all of our students are receiving the accommodations and the assistance that they need in the programs that they need and then we also have our ELD programs we're reclassifying we just reclassified about 13 students from last year so we're working hard on making sure that

they are continuing to progress in the English language we are making sure that our Avid programs and any other programs that we have are benefiting our students at all times and we couldn't do it we couldn't do it without the leadership of Dr Enfield and his team thank you thank you so much guys we appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts um on

behalf the Board of Education please accept these certificates for true for the truly amazing passion you have with our students in schools we'll present Reuben go Bulldogs we got Chino high school with our Cowboys and of course even though I'm a bulldog I love my Huskies I got two of them at home thank you guys so much for being here

thank you for all that you do every single day we appreciate we honor you and we're here to support you you may leave I know you have a lot of things so don't feel like you have to sit through the rest of this meeting do you want to take a picture with the Holborn yeah sure [Applause] foreign

it's so true at this time I'd like to invite Marshall Elementary School principal ophel Ophelia Verdugo who we know is amazing she also has some amazing sport uh support and our special guests parents Jennifer via Villa yeah um we have Yvette thank you I didn't want to butcher that Stephanie Rodriguez she wasn't able to come we'll still clap

for her Joseph Muniz he's another room we need to tell him to get over here um and Glenda Martinez these remarkable parents are a testament to what is achieved when parents in schools work together towards a common goal fundraising is just a part of The Marvelous things Marshalls PTO does and it does it very well we all know that

raising funds takes a certain set of skills talents and abilities well right now I'm going to let Mrs Verdugo share a little bit about these amazing parents that came together but I also want to say personally the couple times I've been to your guys's site I know as a parent and a volunteer our principals truly appreciate it and to see you guys

constantly working and then just doing everything behind the scenes it does not go unnoticed the students and the community they really benefit from that so thank you for doing that and I would let Mrs Verdugo please say thank you so I want to thank president Shaw board members Dr Enfield and cabinet for recognizing our amazing PTO as Mrs Shaw

shared they have worked diligently to provide new and exciting opportunities for our students and also to engage our community and being a part of our school we all know that when students feel connected and engaged with the school they do better the support that our PTO provides for our staff is amazing anything they need anything they require

they're like don't use your money will help you let us know what we can do so we are very proud of our PTO and all the great work that they do and we are very grateful and yes Mrs Shaw we always have our swag our Marshall swag because it is a true representation of who we are as

as martial Superstar so thank you um well thank you for inviting us here today it is nice to get the recognition everything that we do is Straight From the Heart you know as volunteers and we do it for our children we do it for the staff and for our community so thank you for acknowledging us and recognizing us

parents on behalf of the Board of Education a huge thank you for all that you do and I would like to present you with these certificates [Laughter] thank you and then Jennifer thank you for everything thank you guys for everything and thank you also for your leadership oh beautiful picture okay one two three I'll send it to you

okay sorry and again I know you guys have a lot of work to do you may leave if you want to sure this can go right now yeah thank you thank you next up are comments from the employee Representatives we have Brenda Walker from act no comments thank you Danny Hernandez from CSEA dude we have an alternate that may be here

no and then Emily Lau from champ good evening president Shaw school board members Dr Enfield cabinet and Chino Valley Community as evident from all the celebration tonight there are great things occurring in all of our Chino Valley Schools every day tonight I'm just going to highlight an additional four schools both E.J Marshall and Wickman Elementary Schools were recognized by the sheriff's

employees benefit Association this group thanked Wickman and Marshall for the important work that they do each and every day they were awarded they are awarded a total of twenty five hundred dollars to each school to enhance classroom instruction I know that this is greatly appreciated and well deserved the staff at Dixon Elementary School knows the importance of community

involvement in efforts to celebrate families they hosted a Grandparents Day where students and grandparents gathered before school to enjoy pandulse and hot chocolate while administrators Mr renderos and Miss King discussed the benefits of school involvement at Hidden Trails Elementary School the administrative team along with the Dual language immersion staff noticed a lack of Mandarin resources at last year's

kabe and National dual language conferences in true Chino Valley Spirit they decided to take action and to further their own development and to become resources to other schools they designed a proposal for the National Association of bilingual Educators and out of 650 applications their proposal was selected Mrs Surah and the Dual language immersion teachers will be presenting a session at the

National Conference in New Orleans this March their presentation is titled enhancing beginning literacy practices in a Chinese immersion program integrating science curriculum hats off to all of our Chino Valley Schools as we continue to work endlessly for the good of all of our students thank you thank you so much we are now on to comments from the

audience on items not on the agenda Pat are there any requests to speak thank you Pat speakers will be called in the order the request was received instruction for public comment are available by the speaker cards please listen for your name and be prepared to approach the podium any comments on agenda items will be accepted during consideration of that item

if you use the time to comment on an agenda item instead of a non-agenda item you will be directed to correct the time on the agenda and your speaker card will be placed at the end once the board has commence deliberations on an issue speaker cards will not be accepted Mr Cruz can you please explain the public

comment guidelines speakers you have three minutes to address the board you cannot donate your time if you read on behalf of an absent person that will be considered your time begin comments at the green light the yellow light means you have 30 seconds left the red light means your time is over please refrain from making comments while speakers are

at the podium and board policy 1312.1 outlines the procedure regarding complaints against an employee the first speaker is Eric long followed by Andy vivanco followed by Juan Villa Alba hi good evening my name is Eric long I'm a teacher at Ayala High School I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our school board members you have implemented policies that

protect our parents rights and even more importantly protect our children thank you for doing this and I stand with you 100 percent I want to start my speech by clearing up some misconceptions many of my colleagues on the other side of this issue say that this policy put in place and the people who support it have hatred in their hearts towards gay

and trans people I want to make it very clear that that is not true that is a lie but they are very effective lies many of my colleagues don't want to speak out publicly because they are afraid of being labeled homophobic and transphobic well we are going to end those lies today we love and respect every student

who walks into our classroom whether a student is gay straight or trans it doesn't matter because they will all be treated the same as teachers it is our job to notify parents about anything that happens in our students lives I will not allow the state to push the idea that teachers and children keeping secrets from their parents is somehow a good idea

also as a parent if my daughter who just went to kindergarten is not doing her work or especially if she's being bullied or if she is bullying any other children I believe we all as parents want and deserve the right to know these things if a child wants to have a name that is of the opposite sex and probably wants

to transition I would qualify that as a big deal and that the parents deserve to know it makes no logical sense that teachers are supposed to call home when there is any type of issue but now when a child is deciding to change their gender we should all of a sudden keep that a secret keeping something like keeping something

like that from the parents would be wrong the same as keeping other important information from parents that may affect their well-being would also be wrong finally again to you all on the school board stay the course keep fighting we are with you thank you thank you [Applause] followed by Juan gulaba followed by John Cervantes my name is Andy vivanco and I'm a

concerned citizen small business owner and a former executive in higher education today I would like to share about parents rights which lies at the heart of our society and how this intersects the principles enshrined in the United States Constitution first and foremost I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated Educators and also commend the Chino

Valley board for their unwavering commitment to both our children's education and the preservation of parents rights this commitment reflects the Deep respect of society has traditionally held for the role of parents in raising their children parents rights are more than just a legal concept they are a fundamental Cornerstone of our nation's Foundation embedded within the Constitution is the

recognition that parents possess an inherit right to raise and nurture their children in accordance with their own values beliefs and principles all free from unnecessary government interference this vital vital principle safeguards the freedom of families to make choices regarding their children's education health care and upbringing all while ensuring the best interests of the child's remain Paramount in my own

experience I've seen the importance of these rights firsthand there have been instances where some Educators have prioritized indoctrination over education which led my family to choose homeschooling for our children this decision underscores a critical need to protect and uphold parents rights it ensures that the autonomy of families remains intact with the values of freedom and individual liberty preserved

for all it's essential to note that in the Ninth Amendment explicitly states that the enumeration of certain rights in the Constitution shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people sadly in the state of California we have witnessed a consistent overreach by the government pushing for draconian measures under the guise of child protection these measures

often ignore the diverse needs and beliefs of the people forcing teachers to present a specific narrative or falsehoods is disheartening and undermines the trust that should exist between both parents and Educators moreover it robs parents of the opportunity to provide their children with love and care that is their fund mental human right the state is not the

parent in no degree legislation or law can replace the unconditional love that we as parents have to offer such attempts are not only immoral but quite frankly they can be seen as an affront to the values upon which our nation was founded I'm a Christ follower and part of a faith community however it's crucial to recognize that this issue

extends Beyond a single Faith people of diverse beliefs including Protestants Muslims Jews Catholics and others often have deeply held doctrines that conflict with these mandates it is not the role of the state to impose its beliefs on individuals and families who hold differing convictions our constitution upholds the freedom of religion and the right to live according to her deeply

held beliefs in conclusion I extend my gratitude to the school board once again for their unwavering support of the will of the people please continue to fight for parents rights it is my hope that our society will continue to cherish and defend their rights of parents to raise their children as they see fit thank you all right thank you thank you

[Applause] guys let's refrain from outpersons in the room and I me and Cruz can handle the time so please audience respect that we got this Juan villaloba followed by John Cervantes followed by Lance asby asbra good evening board Community I came here today to present a formal complaint um we are almost in October and we're still missing a biology teacher

and honor classes in the logo there's about 2000 students honor students but do not have a teacher still till today no teacher as far as I know and I talk to other parents as well it's a district-wide problem we have no teachers they don't want to stay they're going to other districts better offers better conditions but we still have students without

teachers all the work that is being put by the entire staff and what I've seen that's been accomplished till now might go away because we still don't know have qualified teachers yeah my son and his classmates still have a uncredited unconditional teachers sobbing during all this time and not teachers I do not understand why the board is concerned about our islands and

not to address this issues that affects students directly is for the good of our students and their education I understand that then we might have differences of opinion of faith of anything but the education the formal educational children is Paramount to all of us is for the good of our society as well we need that our students demand it we

had we had a student not long ago asking questions and why and still no teacher um I get it there are concerns we are going to be wasting time more money and more time into going into another lawsuit we already went through these before we are the district already wasted over three hundred thousand dollars into a lawsuit

to no avail are we gonna waste a lot more money into it it doesn't matter if you're a lawyer says oh I'm not gonna charge I'm going to go pro bono you still if you lose you're still in the hook for the old lawyer I am for the court fees I I find it as a waste of time in a waste of resources

that could be better utilized for the good of our students here's my complaint I'm gonna approach you right here the next speaker is John Cervantes followed by Lance asbra followed by Ashley Peters good evening board my name is John Cervantes and I'm a parent grandparent and retired police officer just up here to just say I want to thank you guys

very much for all the hard work you guys have been doing lately especially regarding parents rights and standing for our kids I just want you know it doesn't go unnoticed there's so many people here not only in my family that are not here but people in this community were conservative and we appreciate you we thank you for putting up for this

fight and standing in the gaps it doesn't go unnoticed remember if God is for us who can be against us we're standing with you thank you thank you Lance asbro followed by Ashley Peters followed by Byron Gonzalez so I can help time myself oh hopefully okay so my name is Lance sasbran I am a teacher at Hidden Trails Elementary and

I wasn't here to speak on it but I'm another teacher that understands what you're saying in appearance as well and I appreciate but I appreciate the ability to speak in front of you and like I did last time I I came here to to pray because I just I wanted to bring God's blessing over this District that's

what I want to do but before I do that I wanted to share something as I was kind of praying about what to speak I felt like the Lord put a couple of scriptures in my heart that are referenced for kids and how the father sees our students and sees the the kids in the district and really any District so I just want to

share a couple of scriptures because I felt like his love is tremendous for kids and what he wants to do so the first one I have so if you're listening or guts enough to listen to a board meeting the first one I have is this is is Jeremiah 31 3 and it says the Lord has a period of old to

me saying yes I have loved you with an Everlasting Love Therefore with loving kindness I am drawing you Jeremiah 29 11-13 says for I know the plans I have for you says the Lord they are plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope and these days if you pray I will listen and

if you look for me wholeheartedly I will you will find me Isaiah 44 3-5 and I will pour out my spirit on your descendants my blessing on your children they will Thrive like watered grass or like willow trees on a riverbank some will proudly claim I belong to the Lord somewhat even write the lord's name on their hands so I just want to encourage

our youth that I believe the father wants to touch I believe he wants to pour out his love and and make a difference in our kids lives and I want to encourage them with that and I believe he's going to be doing that so I wanted to encourage them to just have their hearts open and um I wanted to go and pray now just pray

and bless the Lord and bless the district so father just thank you for this opportunity this freedom to to be able to share our hearts and to pray and Lord I bless the board I bless the president and superintendent Enfield God I pray your blessing your peace your strength your joy over them Lord and all the other that others that are serving

here Lord The District employees that that work in in all the offices around here Lord the bus drivers I pray for Lord the schools out we're at the uh Administration the teachers Lord I just pray your blessing over this District it says that we're righteousness is here Lord this city is blessed so I ask bless this city Lord bless this District Lord

and I pray your blessing over our students as well Lord should we thank you and I Just Praise You In Jesus name amen amen thank you thank you very much thank you Ashley Peters followed by Byron Gonzalez followed by Misty startup good evening as a resident of Chino the parent of a current CVUSD student and a public school educator I continue to be

alarmed by the decisions of the school board you seem to have forgotten the purpose for which you were elected the primary concern of public Educators administrators counselors District employees and school board members should be to ensure the safety of students in the district something you have not only abandoned but are intentionally endangering for all students that do not align with your

particular religious beliefs I'm concerned about the motives and the focus of this board and other parents are too as you know public education should strive to create a culture of learning that establishes high expectations for students and academic achievement while also identifying and addressing the social emotional needs of the students it serves this work requires highly qualified compassionate

teachers in every classroom and dedicated School staff unfortunately many students in Chino Valley are being denied access to an environment like this because we cannot hire and retain teachers and staff you've acknowledged there's a teacher shortage Nationwide that means potential teachers can pick and choose which district they want to work in and it's not here CVUSD has more vacancies than any of the

surrounding districts here are the numbers as of a week ago CVUSD total vacancies 86 32 of which are teacher vacancies in comparison Ontario Montclair has 34 total vacancies Claremont Unified has 13. Pomona 54 Corona Norco 26 Roland unified 26 Walnut 25 and Brea 10. the only nearby districts with numbers resembling are Temecula and Yorba Linda both of which are led by school boards

with the same misguided and inaccurate ideas about public education as this one I urge you to get back to the business of educating students attracting new teachers and creating a safe compassionate and accepting District where all of our students can thrive thank you Byron Gonzalez followed by Misty startup followed by Glory toccarelli I'd first like to call into attention

the people who blame everything on white supremacy let's look at the history of white supremacy it was first led by Democrat Nathan Bedford Forest then it was continued by Democrat President Woodrow Wilson by hosting the first ever movie played in The White House named the klansmen Wilson mentored future Democrat President Franklin D Roosevelt who nominated and had elected Hugo Black

who was also a high wizard of the KKK furthermore Democrat Senator Robert Byrd was a high-ranking member of the KKK who mentored Hillary Clinton and current President Joe Biden so if there if there are people who complain about white supremacy and you continue to vote Democrat you're a kind of in a weird situation a tough situation so instead of whining

and complaining about these Democrats out of power uh now I'd like to talk about our current situation where we are currently being sued by the state of California or more specifically Democrat attorney general Rob Banta see a consistency here who was elected by Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom it's really funny how just recently about a year ago there was a lot of news

about school boards being grilled and Gavin Newsom was virtue signaling sitting don't attack school boards attack me instead and now the Attorney General of the who he elected is suing School boards and not and not a peep out of his mouth what's wrong you know why because his minions are no longer in power uh last I like to say um

let's say I'd like to give a shout out to my boy Officer Jason Wiley what's up homie we got this homeboy like got you for sure for sure I love you homie bye thank you Misty startup followed by Gloria chicarelli followed by Eric shamp good evening board um I too I'm grateful for these teachers that have stood up and taken a stand

I know there's more and I'm just grateful that they spoke up tonight I am grateful that there are five of you on the board so that each of you can handle different things all the responsibility is not on you Sonia is the president it's not all on Andrew it's not on Mr nah it's everybody has a part and you're working

as a team and I'm grateful for that so everybody that thinks that we're just focusing on one thing is wrong because I know that you guys are doing a lot of things out there and and I just appreciate you working as a team um I am concerned about the numerous fights on campus at Chino Hills High School

um I feel like there's one at least weekly I'm hoping that that is being addressed it's more than I've ever had with my six kids at the high school I also wanted to bring up a program that was it was going at Butterfield Ranch Elementary and Wickman Elementary and it was called project self-esteem I don't know what happened to it I don't

know if it still exists it was started by a parent here in Chino Hills Wendy column and it was an amazing program I went and volunteered in the classroom of my kids monthly and it would teach things such as individuality cooperation compassion self-discipline uniqueness kindness gratitude honesty forgiveness respect determination Joy friendship humility and courage just to name a few

I think this is a program that needs to be brought back to the elementary schools it was I believe first through sixth grade and the kids loved this program so if it's possible to look more into that I know um the books are available and it would be it would be a good thing for our kids to learn this again so thank you thank

you Glory chicorelli followed by Eric shamp followed by Len Beckman before I start my usual remarks I want to say happy Hispanic Heritage Month to my Latino and Hispanic brethren in the mid 20th century while my community's parents were fighting for a school integration in the South Hispanic parents were fighting for school integration in the southwest they

achieved this goal seven years before Brown versus Board of Education in the landmark case of Mendes V Westminster as a result of that case San Francisco Unified School District was forced to integrate and allow Mexican families to enroll their kids in schools so when we have these board meetings it's that much more important to simulcast them in

Spanish and Mandarin as we've seen as well as English the rest of my speech is dedicated to the same group of people you can see over my shoulder meeting after meeting laughing and giggling every time I bring up anti-blackness and the black trauma that results from it since they as a result of Erasure have come to find

anti-blackness and the black trauma that results funny they should find this especially hilarious J Marion Sims is widely known as the father of modern Gynecology his advancements and Innovations led to groundbreaking leaps in the area of women's health but how did he make such Leaps and Bounds in his field if he was a doc in the mid and 1800s the answer is

as many of you already guessed he experimented on unmedicated black female slaves and continued to do so till the day he left the field as a result to this day medical textbooks teach that black people don't feel pain the same and often exaggerate their pain when they express it to this day black women are three times more likely to die in

childbirth as a result of medical neglect then their white counterparts and their babies are more likely to likely to be born premature with complications to use the words of Dr King that Mr Nile likes to frequently misquote if I am supposed to judge people by the contents of their character and not the color of their skin what conclusion am I to draw what

about someone's character when they find anti-blackness funny for that matter what does it say about your character that you're doing nothing about it as a board because let's be clear racism and Erasure is passed down from one generation to the next and to the gentleman who called racism a democratic ideal that changed significantly during World War II with

many Republicans campaigning against a perceived socialist programs such as social security for the elderly and free daycare programs this increased liberalism continued through the Democratic to through the of the democratic party continued through the Civil Rights Movement oh and the movie that was the most racist movie that was screened in the White House was called Birth of a Nation

Eric sham followed by Lynn Beckman called by Carla vandersteek good evening everyone I am just coming from the Chino Hills High freshman football game against Foothill I think they got the win and what a great season that team is having the function of a school board is a good governance of a public school district the purpose of our public school system

is twofold increase what students know and increase what students are able to do when they leave hopefully having achieved graduation and are prepared for post-secondary Success if they so choose unfortunately until the detriment of our students this board has and continues to shift your eyes and focus away from our school district and our own students we are now scrambling to create

administrative protocols for a policy we had no business in drafting or passing the set being considered tonight are full of holes and in all likelihood opens us up to further legal action it's irresponsible to continue this lawsuit and the policy should be rescinded it never should have been put in place to begin with as a parent in

our district I'm telling you we should drop this lawsuit no one is arguing parental involvement is not important of course it is the problem is your Pursuit is against Sacramento DC and it seems like the basic tenets of a two-party system we are not Sacramento we are not DC and we are not the Democratic or Republican party we are Chino Valley Unified School

District we are a district that is short 32 teaching positions this is twice as many openings and in some cases three times as many openings as our comparable school districts in the area three times as many as Corona Norco three times as many as Ontario Montclair they are not struggling to provide a teacher in their classrooms we are Chino

Valley Unified School District your focus is misplaced your actions never should have been taken and its impact is clearly seen in the data our district is great it also has real problems challenging our ability to increase what students know and increase what they're able to do when they enter adulthood rescind this policy and commit yourselves to the service and good

governance of our school district our teachers administrators parents and students need you to come back and focus on the most pressing issues teacher shortages special education services support for non-english speaking households school safety and bullying the harassment of vulnerable student populations cultivating the love of reading and critical thinking any and all of these would be a great

starting point I look forward to seeing which ones you choose thank you learn back man Len Beckman followed by the final speaker Carla vandersteek I'd like to agree with the last speaker you guys are a great great district and I think you need to know but Mrs Shaw and Chino Valley board members my name is len Beckman whoever that is thank you for

challenging new Sims Goliath funeral of government tied to what I call teacher Union thugs the the king and queen of King tuts if you want to call it something they believe that they own the children God is loaned us in our families everybody here so keep that in mind but do you guys remember the riddling crazy some of you it was

dispensed like Aspen when teachers were unable to handle Restless high-energy you know boys for like six hours over 180 days why is that important well not now many of these boys have serious liver issues proof today's Public School model needs some adjustment unless we're really happy we know 30 School absences a quarter not graduating and the 75

percent who get cap and gown in La unified for example leaving with a 35 Proficiency in court subjects all from here 119 billion tax dollars I have a form of ADHD myself I call it adad I'm a real estate dad of 11 kids 40 years homeschooling 22 grandkids plus 35 years teaching public ed kids at three parishes but for the last five years

I've taught in Channel classes like business theater drugs to local homeschooling kids but I have a confession decades ago I failed keeping planned parenthoodles out of Santa Ana Unified and now early adolescence the Inland Empire including Chino Valley are top felching techniques in hyper 6101 you don't know what felching is look it up or actually ask some of your kids but

for the record every parent homeschools from birth until they decide going public or private that's a good thing but with sex change psyops now being pushed by the axis of Evil the new sim Thurman montefodder if you want to call no child is safe I don't know if you knew this your Chief Ed officer and wife Jen have trafficked and killed 815

babies from 32 states sending the Teen Mom's home childish with no medical follow-up they call it the abortion tourism industry they killed it kills not teaches the students but thus leader with you know our sidekick Thurman and lap dogs still with his junk Rob bunter our suing parents over their kids you guys need to keep up the courage to

battle unless you really want to see your kids go a different route but honestly um if he impeaks them before they impair your kids further that's a good move but the best solution for both public and private is to help to break the Sacramento Monopoly which would really affect you guys in her ability to have more teachers more schools basically I

call it school choice 2024. fifteen thousand dollars going person going to your schools the public or private school of their choice not with Sacramento dictates most will opt for public but at least they have a chance at Choice did you know that you know sex change influencers tell Mom and Dad do you want a dead son or a live trans

keep something from parents when it is very important for us to keep our parents in the loop for all kinds of reasons and I also want to thank you for securing the pro bono which is free for anybody who doesn't understand representation for that lawsuit so that money isn't coming out of our District's pocket I appreciate that

all of students straight from her heart whichever side you are on I saw it was coming from straight from your heart and this is such a great thing because it means it's coming from genuineness nothing else it's not polluted it's polluted when it comes from the politicians from a corrupted heart but it's coming from the the parents's

heart for your children I see little child sitting in the back I see a dad sitting in the front and and the mother and you guys are here because this is coming from straight from your heart because you care this is time of ages where we can no longer just sit home and wait so thank you for coming in and voice

your opinions to protect our youth are the future of our alive we're here our four fathers our grandparents came to this country for us and our children and we are doing the same thing I principles are district office staffs they all have children they all have grandkids and we're here Mr Gallagher has children and we're all here for the

same thing the best betterment of our children and protection of our children so thank you all being here to protect our kids thank you that's my comment thank you Mr Nam Mr Cruz let's um the project self-esteem that sounds very interesting let's let's um Dr Enfield let's let's um do some research on that and yeah that's not a

problem I'm familiar with the program okay perfect perfect and to restate again the national Spotlight throughout news and rope report so all you and Dr anfel and everybody the parents we have schools in the top Nation and you know something we have to that's awesome so good job it is so amazing i i attended a football game at Chino

High School the home of the Cowboys Mr Mueller fantastic he behaves like a coach as well he's amazing and the VPS were there too Nick bergatis the president of Chino Cowboy huddle the booster club set up event before the start of the game called salute to service and Chino PD China Valley fire and city of Chino the community

cowboys and cowgirls they were all recognized and it was it was wonderful it was a good Community get together and they also had the Marine Color Guard at its finest and you know the football game the youth played and the parents were celebrating and it's always that way togetherness is Harmony and then Mr Bowden the band director is an asset to our children and

I want to do an example one of his band music because it's so good you know Mr Bowden he is an amazing person I think some of you know Mr Bowden right I see your views here let's hear something let's hear okay here it's awesome you know like a family there you got everything and it just this is what it is

I love it I just love this stuff this is what high school's about family together and having beautiful experiences beautiful experiences I attended uh Magnolia Junior High School the Caps results and Mr durati then counselor as a VP they did uh you know excellent job 250 students approximately past the castle how do you say that again yeah Casp and

the cast is is is given at the end of the year and it determines how well the school's doing and I got to tell you um Magnolia did fantastic but I have to tell you something parents you know they haven't you know we know the scores but you guys are not you guys don't have the scores yet because they're going to give

them out in December but you know we should tell Sacramento to give the scores and why are they waiting this long why are they waiting because I mean parents have the right to see the cap results so they'll be coming out in December but they should have been came out a long time ago like in August fighting is happening at different

schools but we are glad president Shaw Mr Noah Mr Monroe uh we're looking into speakers to find ways to inspire children together so I think that's really good that we're doing that and on top of that of our grateful security and everyone that has been participating in the safety of our children I dedicate this song to you guys

I mean when I was thinking about this it was this is the song that's what I was thinking about a village together just like all you hear we're a village [Music] I'm going to the YMCA part bro here's a picture of one of our students I think when it comes to Art when it comes to all this this is what really

school is about and uh it's a picture of a UFO and you notice something interesting it's the rainbow so it's kind of amazing the creativity of how a person goes through itself I want to do this from time to time I want to bring teams of of what our children have been doing and like I said Dr Enfield we should we should do an

auction because some of this work of art that our kids do with sculptures and all that we we should start having fun we should start having fun okay okay I like the auction oh yeah yeah you know something I forgot I forgot to tell you something no apparently here's a library book and I'm going to donate this to Magnolia and

it's called Mexican white boy and Danny's Brown half Mexican Brown and growing up in San Diego that close to the boulder means everyone thinks they know exactly who he is before and he even opens his mouth before they found out he can't speak Spanish and before they realize his mom has blonde hair and blue eyes but he works the other way too and

Danny's convinced it's his witness that sent his father back to Mexico so this is a good read well one of the kids recommended it so I'll give this to Magnolia there's one real quick because I just want to say this because this is really important and um the Casp I was really impressed at Magnolia and the reason why I was really

impressed with the children was that I could relate with them and that is that with with my experience with mother speaking mainly Spanish my father a military veteran a blue collar worker his specialization was being a glacier and he worked for Anaheim Unified School District there's one thing that I didn't have and when I was looking at all the

kids at Magnolia a lot of them were just like me and that is I was so proud of them is because we never learned academic language at home we learned it from our teachers and from our neighbors so when we saw those 250 kids that was impressive because they learn academic language at the school site a lot of them did

and and you know they they take a lot of guts to do what they had to do so I was so proud of them so so proud so just keep up the good work and um you know it's not really about grades it's really about will you determine you believe in yourself and doing what needs to be done

to have a purposeful life and with your parents standing by everything will go well thank you thank you Mr Cruz Mr Monroe I gotta put in a request to speak in a different order I get the impossible task of following Mr Cruz again I do just want to say a couple of things I want to congratulate Ayala Chino Hills

and Chino for being ranked in the top 40. that's a fantastic uh amazing accomplishment of staff and and their administrators over there so congratulations to them and and really everybody here that aided them to accomplish that um it's nice that uh some positive light be shined on our schools I do want to thank E.J Marshall Wickman obviously for their for their work and

being recognized by siba uh it's it's wonderful to have uh the sheriff's employee benefit Association recognize the outstanding work of our teachers and to give those much needed donations to the classrooms and then uh hidden Trails on their accomplishment and being able to present a proposal at a national event really speaks to the uh the talent that

we have employed here so I I want to commend them on their great work um and I want to commend our our cabinet here on on trying to staff our shortages and the work that they're putting in I know it's a it's a difficult task now trust me everybody is hurting and although even some of the speakers

are saying we're more than most it's not an easy task for any District at this point everybody is begging borrowing and stealing teachers and we're working on on ways to recruit Talent here and we just don't want to go higher run-of-the-mill teachers we want talented teachers that are going to help help our schools Excel as you've seen tonight

I do want to Echo Miss yarboy's words when she spoke she mentioned three C's she mentioned commitment communication and collaboration that's how we've got to where we are and that's how we will move forward so although we have differences we cannot forget those three very important things as we work together to make our district great thank you

thank you Mr Monroe and Dr anfield I want to thank you Mr Monroe for touching on the the teacher's shortage and checking with staff uh just so the board knows we do have 19 open position teaching open positions there is a shortage but again that's not a an excuse people want to hear our district is the working extremely hard to fill

those vacancies you're absolutely correct we don't want to just hire anyone we've had a number of rounds of interviews for the biology over at Don Lugo but the site did not want to settle on that position I know Mrs Leo fellows is working with outside companies and we're looking at recruiting agencies to fill our vacancies but it is difficult but we

will continue to do the work and to fill all those vacancies so something I'm not I'm not happy with but but it's our reality that we're we're facing as a district thank you Dr Enfield and I guess that leads me I had been handed two letters from two teachers apparently we have some teachers that may be afraid to say something this will

be the first time I read it but I was asked to read it on their behalf um to the school board members I'm writing in favor of both policies I'm a mother and a high school teacher at Ayala High School I would like to stay anonymous because I do not share my political or personal use with my students in the

classroom I simply teach them the curriculum and leave the rest up to them speaking from a mother's point of view I'm an involved parent in every aspect of my child's life I help them grow mentally physically and spiritually I'm not in favor of the parental or I am in favor of the parental notification policy because parents not the government not the

school official not any Outsider has a right to children's education and emotion emotional well-being I believe that it is within the best interest of the child to always have parental involvement if you look at the high percentage of behavior issues and look at the child's home life you will most often see either a parent or both parents are missing it is important that

all parents be notified if the changes happen if change happens to the child at school as far as the flag is concerned thank you as far as the flag is concerned the only flag that should be in the classroom is the American flag the Gay Pride flag symbolizes one's sexuality which is inappropriate for the classroom setting the American flag

although some may disagree with me symbolizes Freedom equality and hope nothing about the American flag Associates itself with one sexual orientation the Gay Pride flag should not be shown in the classroom if we cannot have a Jesus Christ flag or a religious flag flown in the classroom the Gay Pride flag should not be there either the state or country flag is the

only thing that should be there speaking from a teacher's point of view I always have a clear communication and expectations for both parent and child I believe that a child is in our care only to educate and teach not to indoctrinate I would never want to take away parental control from a child's parents as a teacher I work with the child's parents

to develop the best approach and the plan for the child it is truly unfortunate that we are here at this point in time we where the parents must fight for the rights of their own children with a school how did we come to this point where how did how did we come to this point where we are no

longer communicating and giving access to the parent the government does not have any rights over my child I brought them into this world not the government therefore they have zero rights on how I raise my children less government and more citizen Freedom a concerned parent and teacher of CVUSD to the members of the CVUSD school board and superintendent Dr Enfield I'm a

teacher at a school in Chino Valley Unified School District and I would like to express my opinion regarding the new District policy and parent notification I first I want to First say that I am asking that this letter be anonymous not because I want to remain unnamed amongst my colleagues though I would rather stay on good terms despite any difference of

opinions but because I do not want my students to know my personal stance on the issue while vocally taking sides may help some students to identify and feel more comfortable around me as a teacher and may also lead some students to respond negatively to my opinion or to me as a teacher what comes first for me are my students all of my students

whether they are transgender or not whether they are Christians Muslims atheists or from any culture or identity as to the politics of the situation I really find a lot of what has happened in this District over the last several years several years unfortunate the response to covid with The District's closing schools enforcing masking was government mandated many supported the

government's policy and the school boards enforced it despite some students parents and Staffing opposing it these are groups that are considered the main stakeholders in the district and we are told that that should be involved in what happens in the schools so opposition to what the government mandated led by parents and other groups to organize as a way to have their

voices heard now the pendulum of control on the school board has gone in the other direction and with this new mandated policy some oppose it as to the policy when it comes down to it opposing parent notification means that people are against parents being informed about a major life decision made by a parent's own child this goes

against everything I have been taught about involving parents and the child's progress or struggles no parent in is perfect they will make mistakes and it seems to be the nature of teenagers to think that their parents don't care this is not a new idea but with whatever the issue is grades Behavior possible drug use or thoughts of suicide most

stakeholders would agree that parents should be contacted parents should be involved and some teachers even layment that parents aren't more involved with this in mind students expressing a transgender identity should be no different as to the concern about the parents not supporting their child or even being abusive my understanding of the policy is that the notification will

not take place in that circumstance and really students students needs should be accessed by on a case-to-case based situation that to say that this policy will harm all students expressing their identity is to cast blame on all parents as school staff we should be encouraging students to find healthy ways to express themselves but we are not the parents

the legal guardians or the ones that are responsible for the student outside the classroom or off campus it is part of a parent's role to shape who their child will become even if the child doesn't follow those ideas once they are an adult it is the school's responsibility to teach math science physical education Etc not to encourage secrecy or to

express expressly go against a parent's wish furthermore just because a parent disagrees with their child's choices does not automatically mean that the parent will disown or abuse their child yes there have been instances where families was not supportive but this assumption cannot be made for all parents and instead of us thinking the worst of those with different opinions

than us I can only hope that we can find a way to talk to each other and understand each other's positions maybe at least then we the way we approach this is in a way that we help all stakeholders and better help our students I just want to thank those two teachers of ours for expressing that I'm glad that

you touched on the vacancies we also did add some new positions in the beginning of the school year which you have seen and in comparison to other districts it's hard to compare us to other districts we have over 26 000 kids in a lot of these neighboring districts don't even compare to that the point is in reality

if we keep continuing in this Direction people are not going to sign up to be teachers they're going to be activists and we don't want them in the classroom and they don't we don't want them around our students anyway so if we don't fix the root of the problem and I will say that I don't want an activist teaching

my child sorry it is what it is um so if we don't fix the problem that happens in Sacramento I am talking would you like to put a speaker card next time or the federal government then we will not continue to be the great District that we are because we do have amazing staff we do have an amazing

cabinet we have an awesome superintendent that I have seen other superintendents all around California and honestly nothing has compared to the group that we have the parents I'm sorry Chino Valley you guys are special whether we all agree on stuff or not you're very special and that's why we are and what we're doing what we're doing and people are looking to us to

not give up and I'm not going to give up and I'm darn proud that this board isn't giving up on our kids as well and our parents rights I will say people like to keep tabs on me which is fine if you want to join my children on the i360 you're more than welcome to but I know

I put my life into being a school board member I am at every event that I can be at and I don't need to tell anybody that I don't want to post those things unless someone tags me on social media half of the things that I do you will not see because I'm not trying to get credit for

it that's not me that's not my heart my heart is to be there when I'm invited my heart is to be there when when class rooms need support or teachers or they invite us to um things in fact my family has taken a lot of has been taken from my family they've sacrificed and and I love my

family for doing that because they see the bigger goal we love California we're going to fight we're going to continue to stand strong I am proud that Liberty Justice is part of our team to take the burden of the financial responsibility I'm embarrassed for our state I'm embarrassed that we have the political cartel literally taking kids monies away

that is embarrassing suing because we want to involve parents and they want to pick and choose I'm sorry our district was the wrong one to pick the fight with because we're going to take this all the way um I would stay stay away from the gupshup if you don't know what that means that's gossip I hear and see things that people

say we're going to bring this program and we're going to get rid of Scholastics we're going to do this ask me questions I am willing to answer them if you don't call me the b word and you don't call me the c word that I get often in a day I love transparency send me an email without those things you

will get the answer and if I do something other than that answer hold me responsible that is my job to be held responsible as a public elective official I will say this I am proud of you Chino Valley I'm proud of our district I I encourage you to know I have stacks this big I can't even get through of

handwritten cards let alone emails and phone calls to our board secretary that they're from not only our community but from all over the nation in even parts of the other world and they're saying Chino we're looking to you please do what's right and that's not me that is us when I say I'll say it again when I

see recall Shaw where's the paperwork come hand it to me because if you recall me you recall the parent's voice and we know that um so I mean I open it welcome arms because I'm here to do a job and I am not afraid of losing this seat this is not my seat this is the parent seat I

have never been afraid and I'm not that politician you will never have me like that I hate the word politician because it puts me with the rest of them and their embarrassment our majority of politicians are embarrassing um I'll go back to some fun stuff that we got to do I love my site visits with Dr anfield we get to have some time to

discuss things but we also get to see what's in the classrooms we get to see the amazing differences that each teacher provides for our students it's it's absolutely the funnest thing so far to see the differences with between this math class and this math class and then see the beauty of how that child comes out learning but totally given two

different things but with the same curriculum to me that is what makes teaching unique from what I can tell I have many teacher friends and I find that so beautiful so walking the classrooms is a gift I I love walking the classrooms I love our time with our superintendent I love when you guys invite us to things it means that you

want us our support you want us you're proud you want us to see what is going on so please don't stop inviting us I can tell you I probably hardly ever miss anything if I'm running from one to the other I did get to see what siba you know did alongside our schools to to give teachers at EJ

Marshall and Wickman some gift cards although you know our teachers pour so much money and heart into there just for them to be honored and given that opportunity was really beautiful and I'm glad I got to be there for that I am appreciative of Nick inviting us to the Chino High School football uh game I often see Chino Hills games

because I do have two huskies and I try to make it over to Ayala but it was really cool to be invited to that and just an honor to see how they salute to our members in the service I think it was beautiful to do that to those people because they they sacrifice every day their family's sacrifice yesterday Cruz

and I were able to get over to uh Magnolia's Casp recognition and which was really cool then is we got to see the kids smile because they got to go outside and get an ice cream of their choice from the ice cream truck and the ice cream truck was the same truck that used to come down my street in Los

Serranos so it was so cool to see her and her husband still doing their thing and us being able as a district to support a local family business that was really beautiful and I think it just shows how how special our community is other than that I know I spoke too long because I was going over those letters

but I did want to read something in regards to a recent decision from the United States district court in Southern California District of California um that some Brave teachers they went and they sued back the state for forcing them to keep secrets and forcing them to compelled speech and the judge ruled in their favor and I think

that provides hope because when we went to our court case the judge said he didn't read our documents and yet he made a decision he also said one thing I want to set the record clear for he said the state is trying to make him legislate From the Bench yet he made a decision so remember sometimes the

system is crooked but we hold them accountable we had rock store lawyers our own district attorney lawyers that they went to bat they showed improved and even when the state tried to deny that approval and they went back behind that we were granted because we showed the proof because we fought we didn't lay down and say okay we're going to

take this on Fair just judgment we're going to fight against it and it went in our our our favor which I think that's huge guys find these small victories as a huge Victory because again they messed with the wrong District we're going to support parental right because we're going to see people get it all the time moving into Chino so I'd get ready and

get some more uh people in line to support that because Chino is about to explode because we're sending the met the message and we're sending the right message we work with our community and I'm so proud of all you teachers who support that with that said I now adjourn the regular Board of educate
