yes yes so um to PR awesome we would love it hello everyone I am Lucas Cal and um and because uh I was introduced already with my top uh 1% status um I was actually presently surprised by this result and I want to share my excitement with you my fascination with AI began in elementary school when I read about
Google's work on driverless cars I couldn't understand why these cars weren't a reality yet by the time I reached High School this curiosity led me to focus my research project on the perception systems of autonomous vehicles perception systems serve as the eyes of a AI detecting various objects like pedestrians and other cars my research centered on designing an AI
capable of tracking the movement of these detected objects within a driving scene this skill is crucial as it enables the AI to predict the trajectory of pedestrians and cars allowing the self-driving car to adapt to the changing driving situations I developed my own object tracking system and trained it using a public data set of driving scenes for
autonomous vehicle research this project marks a significant step in my journey to explore the field of autonomous vehicles through research I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mrs barreras for guiding me in identifying research gaps and formatting my paper appropriately my English teachers have also played a critical role in teaching me academic writing and analytical skills needed for
this endeavor my friends and family especially my father who ignited my passion for AI have been unwavering in their support I am deeply honored by this academic by this achievement and eager to continue my research Journey thank you all for your support and I am excited for the future [Applause] ahead good evening esteve education members family and guests my name is Gan
D and I am honored to speak before you all about my experience in AP research my topic focused on the changing physical limitations and mental challenges of patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis throughout the surgery process with my own experience with scoliosis I thought it was a perfect opportunity to to further explore the hidden challenges and pay homage to my scoliosis community
one of the main impediments was organizing my topic in a more condensed yet thorough field of study I narrowed my topic to the physical and mental challenges in adolescence with numeric questionnaires from previous studies did not suffice conducting a mixed mythology of 180 total participants with and without scoliosis and on top of the three different scoliosis groups was a formidable
challenge I did not let these challenges stopped me from pouring my heart into this work I realized that there were no shortcuts each day I put on my headphones and researched tirelessly on my topic while analyzing and interpreting my responses there are three important people who stood by my side the first is no none other than my
AP research teacher Mrs barreras her suggestions and guidance were invaluable her sweet words of encouragement pushed me to work harder and her bubbly personality lifted my spirits the second person is my AP Lan teacher Mrs Jolly the writing conferences with her help me think outside of the box to cover various aspects of my research I applied her advice into formatting my academic
paper finally I'm forever indebted to my mom she is my guardian angel who has stuck with me through thin and thick and thin my when I felt unmotivated with my research my mom cheered me on to keep on pushing my mom worked miracles to help me select my 77 scoliosis participants on various online platforms especially during the last few
weeks of the exam she stayed up late at night with me watching me practice my speech while administering my AC um administering my all defense questions even even though I was sometimes occasionally annoyed by this I realized that I couldn't even be here without her help from the bottom of my heart thank you so much Mumsy and I love
you never would I expect that I would grow tremendously in AP research the Capstone the AP capsom program holds so much potential for high schoolers to explore their topic research it more and show off their true colors this invaluable gem is one to be treasured for future students to come thank you [Applause] um I just want to express that I am so
proud of both of my student I'm actually proud of all of the students but these two kiddos worked extremely hard um I know Keon struggled a lot in the class and she overcame those struggles as well as Lucas um especially with his speech and um just presenting so I'm I'm just beyond thrilled with both of them thank
you so much for recognizing them tonight thank you all for everything that you do and thank you um to both of our students and their parents for being so supportive um this is it's beautiful and thank you both for sharing your passion and your stories and helping other students that is amazing and thank you for empowering them to do that um

very much for putting me second on the the uh agenda after that if anybody doesn't believe that this school district is making investments in our children these Bond issues that are passed aren't just for physical uh facilities they are providing great classrooms but they're giving students the tools to be able to excel in what they do and if this these two uh students don't
uh exemplify that then I don't know what else does but at any rate uh the purpose of measure G citizens Bond oversight committee also called the cboc is charged with informing the public concerning the expenditure of bond proposals under measure G the exact details of the propose of the purpose of an oversight committee and their duties are specified in the California
Constitution ab1 1908 and are summarized in the committee's bylaws the bylaws state that the purpose of the committee as set forth in Proposition 39 is to inform the public at least annually by issuing a written report concerning the expenditure of bond proceedings from measure G which was approved by the voters on November 8th 2016 the committee is required within

business of the district correct you pass policies listen to the public and make sound decisions based on the information provided by the district and the staff of the district correct okay I just had to ask that question based on what i s and witness towards the end of the last school board meeting I also want to bring to your
attention some safety issues first please fix the rodent problem members are telling me their classrooms have visitors that are not on their roster running around their classrooms no joke and this is a safety issue and can the board speak to what has been done to incre increase the number of nurses in the district and can the board speak to what
has been done to increase the number of fund Club teachers and AIDS in the district can the board give an update to the public on how the district is keeping staff and students safe on campuses are there less fights how about special education I remember hearing that there would be a parent group formed would you like to hear how things
are going for educators I would be happy to put together a group of specialed teachers to share how it's going from the educator side of the house now I'm going to shift gears Act and the district have finished our second session of negotiations with the district and we have another date coming up on October 30th we don't know how many sessions it
will take to get to a tentative agreement but we're hopeful that the district will acknowledge their appreciation of our Educators by negotiating in good faith thank you and have a good evening thank CSEA good evening president Shaw board members Dr infield staff and community members um my comments will be brief um on October 2nd was National custodian day for the C work that the

and the Chino Valley Community um i' First lost like to start off by congratulating uh Mr F binder for becoming our access and Equity director I know he's going to do a great job and to congratulate our students that were celebrated today that was just um brought tears to my eyes and we're so excited to to hear that their
achievements um tonight I want to talk a little bit about being bilingual and bilingualism so being bilingual is the ability to speak two languages and being biliterate is the ability to read write and think critically in two or more languages students who graduate with a seal of biliteracy have demonstrated Mastery at being both bilingual and biliterate these skills open up the world to
students giving them a Global Perspective as 21st century Learners Chino Valley Unified School District currently has 416 students who are being acknowledged by the C San Bernardino County for being on track to receive this incredible recognition our students are demonstrating Mastery in speaking reading writing and thinking in seven languages American Sign Language Russian Korean French Japanese Chinese Mandarin
and Spanish it's also very exciting to know that with the addition of two dual language immersion schools in Chino Valley the number of students who graduate with this seal of B biliteracy is only going to continue to grow so tonight I share incredible gratitude for the students who have persevered to meet the high standards required to receive
the Seal of biliteracy and for the Educators who lead teach and encourage our students every single day thank you thank you so much we are now at comments from the audience on items not on the agenda Pat are there any requests to speak 17 17 board bylaws 9323 meeting conduct establishes public comment guidelines instructions for public comment are

teacher for 17 years at Claremont High School I'm retired I've come to thank you for your courageous leadership on your parent consent parent information policy uh I think that you as leaders in the school district are standing between the demen unconstitutional and wicked policies coming out of Sacramento and I wanted to come and encourage you for that you're
standing between families and of this community and a tyrannical state that is seeking to use its power to impose a religion of self- worship on children in your District I taught for 17 years the last five years there were kids that committed suicide every single year because we as the school in Claremont Unified School District adopted the opposite
policy the state claims your policies violate the Constitution the state is claiming overall authority over our children of course that is absurd but even if it was unconstitutional that does not make it right that is what the state says does not make it right because the state says it's constitutional majorities do not determine what is right and wrong
majorities do not redefine good and evil majorities do not Define male and female those terms that definition is reserved to God just is what it is and if I contradict God's law if our society contct God's law it brings problems you did not take that unwise course of action you chose to protect families and to keep them from being defenseless
against predators who would steal their hearts their minds and their souls that's the kind of predation I'm talking about stealing Hearts minds and souls that's very precise this Cult of selfie worship says I can remake myself in my own image and I saw it happen all the time I am my highest Authority my will is the most important thing this is
what's being taught it's not philosophy it's not sociology it is a Rel religion and that's a good way to think about it this is a fever it's a craze but I believe it's breaking across the city the country the state in the nation vast majorities of people see it as wicked the fever will pass and those who
participated in the evil will face not only the contempt of their fellow citizens but if they don't repent they'll face God's judgment I will too if I don't repent I want to encourage you to stay the course to continue to fight to stand between children and those who seek to steal them you have the support of the people of ch san
berino county and Beyond as I wrap up here uh you will be able to look at your kids and grandkids may you have them Lord willing you have grandkids and you will be able to tell them when the battle raged you stood up for what was right I commend you if you participated in that you will say that
you stood up to save lives and protect kids you kept your oath you did not compromise your cower when many people did and your courage will inspire them it will inspire them Lord willing you have kids you have grandkids and they will see what you did and it will give them courage and courage spreads like fire and courage is what we need today
so I commend you I thank you for your leadership I've taken the time to come here to say that keep it up and do not back down thank you thank you Christy Hurst followed by Jenny Gordon followed by Daniel okay I'm Christy Hurst a former teacher and current parent in this District I co-founded R Schools USA a national
nonprofit seeking to strengthen public education and support all students here are excerpts from the dozens of letters I've received from students parents and teachers and community members outraged by this board Schoolboard meetings should represent the educational setting they hope to established you've done the exact opposite the board is intentionally damaging the school environment for the purpose of
furthering their own political and religious Conservative Christian ideologies public schools are for the community not for the ideology of some mega church this District needs to stop wasting our tax dollars and start doing what's in the best interests and benefits all our children you can't mandate trust between a parent and a child with policies you create that in a
home filled with unconditional love and acceptance I should not be forced to tell my parent who says slurs against lgbtq people that I am what they hate I am afraid that I will be cast away from my family if they find out the district's job is not to protect the feelings of parents it's to ensure the safety of all students if a child
doesn't feel safe enough to share this information with their parents how is that my fault children are always watching and always listening they hear comments their parents make about gay or trans celebrities hear their parents rail against changing names and pronouns they see their parents' involvement in radical right-wing organizations they're aware if their parents still ascribe to
the fallacy that being trans is a mental illness like Sonia Shaw and James naw you serve all children students and families even those you may not agree with your forced outing policy specifically targets and discriminates against transgender and gender non-conforming students while every other student at a school has certain rights these students are denied the same rights treating them differently
than every other student creates an unsafe environment for all students affirming parents do not need or want this policy parents who consider trans children to be mentally ill parents who believe that homosexuality is a sin that being gender fluid is a fad or that non-gendered pronouns are a threat to society they are not likely to be supportive partners with Educators and
their own children should they express a non-traditional identity your frequent appearances in the news have made our district the subject of ridicule and mockery it damages our community its image and it also affects our home values which are closely tied to the reputation of our district it damages our reputation and affects the morale of students parents and teachers the sense
of family that once kept teachers here has been destroyed by the politics brought on by the majority of this board I don't want my children trapped in a district that drowns its funds into lawsuits rather than focusing on education and the needs of our students for this reason my family has started looking into other school districts we
do not need nor want this kind of extreme political agenda affecting our students education it is disheartening to see a focus on politics when our primary concern should be providing a highquality education for our children I've printed out copies for each board member and superintendent Enfield of every letter that I have received many are Anonymous some have names they're
anonymous because people did not feel safe and welcome to come to the board and express their feelings good job Jenny Gorton followed by Daniel MOA followed by Agnes good evening I'm Jenny Gorton and um I want to thank you for your service uh Dr Enfield Sonia uh the rest of the board and all the um staff thank you for your service
I serve at the adult school we uh equip adults parents of these students in English and in citizenship we offer and I teach uh GED credit recovery and it is the best job in the entire District seriously I love my job I love working there I love working in this district there is a problem however we're all limited to part-time now
whatever those reasons are I'm sure they're Financial um or Personnel wise I can't figure it out because uh we earn our own money last year alone our testing services made made over $750,000 for our school because of our testing so we are still uh all limited to 3 hours a day or you know 19 and a half hours a week and I've written
letters I've um I've tried to make contact with the Union but we're not allowed to be in the union because you know we're part-time so our hands are tied our only Advocate is our principal and that's very limited so I'm asking you to be our Advocates and um to help the adult school teachers who are doing a great service to this
community to to get more hours to just be uh permitted to work more hours when I uh started uh 17 years ago I was allowed to work any kind of any number of hours that I wanted and when the um the downturn uh we they were thinking of closing the adult school so the teachers got together and
decided let's cut our hours minimum and we all cut our hours and with the with the promise of the administrators that they would be restored once funding was available well now here we are you know 10 years later and funding is available and we're still even more scrutinized with our hours and limited so I'm just asking for consideration or some kind of
get the ball rolling um some kind of recourse that we could have where the Adult School uh could offer more hours we just lost a 20-year veteran teacher because she was offered a full-time job uh in another District the other school districts around us San Bernardino Riverside um La they are offering full-time Adult School positions now so
the um the value is is obvious the If the parents are equipped the students are going to be better equipped and if we are making better community members than um and citizens this is what we do every day if we're if we're helping people get their GED and their High School diplomas um so to keep the promise that I was that
that we were promised um back in 2008 when we decided to cut our own hours um I would like our hours restored and I would like um to have the consideration for adult school teachers to to um be like all the other school districts catch up so that we don't lose any more teachers it's getting we've lost eight teachers in the
last uh three years to other districts all right thank you for your time thank you Daniel MOA followed by Agnes mazour followed by Priscilla Garcia Daniel couldn't be here I'm reading this on his behalf good evening Schoolboard members superintendent Enfield and the Chino Valley Community my name is Daniel Mora and I grew up in the this District throughout my whole
childhood although I may be across the country as a student at Yale University I will not turn my back on the disaster the school board is causing in our community last Schoolboard meeting a parent complained about Scholastic Books proposing that the district should rid them from schools in addition to this madness Sonia's hate group posted a video from far-right media spreading
lies about Scholastic books and why they should be banned I first want to start off by saying that this idea is one full of hate and ignorance book Banning is something that has always been on the wrong side of history and is something that only a author itarian regimes partake in if the school board decides to ban Scholastic or any kind of book
then we are taking one step further towards fascism is this what we want for our community to be associated with to the school board is fascism something you want to be affiliated with furthermore Scholastic books does not perpetuate any type of agenda and is not doing what your hate group claims I grew up reading Scholastic Books in
elementary school and they were fundamental to my education never once did my parents and I see any inappropriate content in these books and my parents would routinely buy me Scholastics since they they knew it was beneficial for my education at my elementary school we even had Book Fairs that would sell Scholastic Books because it was widely acceptable in addition my
two younger brothers have read and still are reading Scholastic books and yet there is no inappropriate content contained in these books the facts are that Scholastic books are kid-friendly and a great way for kids to explore their interests and retain a plethora of knowledge however your hate group does not want to believe this and the only way to act out your agenda is to lie if
you actually read a book for once then you would know that Scholastic is far from what you are claiming your group fear-mongers and manipulates the emotions of people to make them believe that something bad is happening when in reality there is no issue at hand you all are creating issues just so you can claim credit for fixing them and
everyone can see what you are doing if you do not want your child to read a certain book that's your right however it's not your right to dictate what other parents children can read and you cannot force any parent to abide by your ridiculous hateful beliefs ironically Banning books actually goes against what your group is fighting for because it
takes away parents' Choice when deciding what books they want their children to read it would just add to the stupidity of your group and the hypocrisy that grows every time you open your mouth if you ban Scholastic or any other books you will be impeding the education of every kid in the district your job as Schoolboard members is to ensure the
educational success of every student in this district and to provide them a well-rounded education if you claim you are for the kiddos then you would allow every book to be accessed by every student and parent we are in 2023 not 1933 so let's get back to providing every student with books and not Banning them thank you Agnes Missour followed by
Priscilla Garcia followed by Glory [Applause] chiarelli good evening board cabinet and Community as a mother of two students in the district and an instructor at a university I'm appalled that this book that this board wants to restrict students access to books this week is National band Book Week an event for the last 40 years that has celebrated the
freedom freedom to read learn and think in public education sadly these rights are increasingly under attack by anti-government extremists mom for moms for Liberty and related ironically named parents rights groups these groups are responsible for an escalation of book bands in school districts since 2021 most of the books they target are written by and about the experiences of
lgbtq plus black and Indigenous people this is a national political effort to silence diverse voices following this Playbook Miss Shaw appeared on right-wing media to Proclaim that she is preparing to break California law and take books away from our students once again she is exploiting our school district to get media attenion for her political war with Sacramento and tragically it is our
children who are the victims Miss Shaw is claiming without evidence that schools are providing children as young as five access to sexually explicit material when parents asked her for examples she could not provide any in her District the only title she mentioned was Earl and the dying girl a book for grades nine and above not small children I read the book and her attack
is grossly misinformed she is going after a story about a teenage boy and the girl he friends after finding out she is dying from leukemia the book is actually about friendship and dealing with terminal illness the only part Miss Shaw seems to have read are two pages of runchy jokes that a character a high school boy is
making to gross the protagonist out as the author himself said that profane language reflects the way real life teenagers actually talk while I don't think this book would be appropriate for my elementary AED kids I have no problem with a high schooler reading it and this should be my choice as a parent not this boards Miss shot took an explicit
passage completely out of context and then used it to justify calling an entire book porn by the standard many great works of literature and even the Bible would be banned finally if this was really about protecting kids miss sha the board majority would address the real problem that 73% of teens have seen actual pornography online and the average age
of exposure is 12 the district could offer workshops informing parents and helping them monitor their kids devices and online usage but that wouldn't get Miss sha and Fox News so here we are Banning books instead thank you Priscilla Garcia Priscilla Garcia followed by Glory chiarelli followed by Baron Gonzalez I don't no when did I ban a book good evening board I'm giving my
time to Daniel serante my partner hi uh good evening and thank you for your time my name is Daniel sento I am a father of a sophomore at aala High School uh who thrives and lives a great life because of his love for water polo and what the community has done for him I come on behalf of frustrated parents
uh coaching staff and student athletes for our from our community uh the current status is that uh the CH the kids were able to get into the pool for the first time three months into the school year after hopping and B borrowing pools from around the community to get ready for their upcoming season uh they've we've uh we
as a community have suffered multiple delivery delays and ignore con uh and ignore concerns which were uh very well documented and if uh if I may I'd like to present a couple packets I put together uh for to the the recording secretary for um you know our water water polar water polo board uh president is uh excellent at documenting
and communicating the concerns you know to the planning and uh constructions committees and my goal here today is to establish and uh walk towards a better partnership with the decision makers uh uh in your Administration so that we can avoid future uh frustration uh frustration that stems from uh concerns that are not acknowledged a lack of communication and uh botched delivery
surprises When we arrive to the pool deck uh finding out including today that um you know the pool was closed for uh due to ongoing issues my request is uh relatively uh you know relatively benign I'm hoping that we can establish an uh a committee of sorts maybe an oversight committee to include uh the primary stakeholders you
know that are using our pool you know looking at our coaching staff and our booster parents who volunteer their time to uh to ensure that our student athletes have the best support possible for their High School sporting experience and the goal of this community would be to really establish an uh a schedule for communicating with each other on so that we're on the same
page and avoid future frustrations relating to uh concerns not being heard and and this is uh what I've come to you for today uh thank you so much for your time thank you glory Chelli followed by Byron Gonzalez followed by Chantel I want to talk about a couple civic-minded entities the fir the first group is comprised primarily of middle class
white women after years of conflict and unrest that largely featured their white Brethren they realized that they had a PR nightmare to handle they didn't want the generations that came after them to think of them as anything but good people who loved the Lord and had strong patriotic American values they knew the only way to influence future Generations
was to be the ones that wrote the history the current Generations studied so they got to work and they didn't just get to work altering factual events that turned into outright lies they actually banned an eliminated books and lessons they thought painted them in anything but the best light and what were their partners and families doing while this
group was gaining traction oh they had a group of their own only this group made up primarily primarily of middle class white men decided that changing curriculums and giving inaccurate lessons was not enough they made it their mission to terrorize everyone who didn't believe what they did and didn't look the way they looked by now you're asking yourself why
would a president allow his Nation to get torn right down the center in a way that would echo through time well that's because he's the one that got the ball rolling after taking office he made his stance on every a non-white and upper class very clear Paving the way for the groups I mentioned before oh did you guys think I was
talking about Misha and her Prager youu and Mom's for Liberty besties or did you think I was talking about the proud boys she invites to terrorized marginalized kids just trying to make their voices heard or did you think I was talking about their actual Lord and Savior Donald Trump no no I was talking about the daughters of the Confederacy who
pushed the narrative that the Civil War was about state writes the KKK that burn crosses and star res Resurgence in their numbers as a result of woodro Wilson the president that screened the most racist film in cinema Birth of a Nation in the White House to those who seem discouraged by a board who has done nothing for our marginalized kids
remember a saying many black Elders say when they speak of the fight for civil rights it's the same fight different decade racism is not going away those who benefit from it are not going to want it to go away so to the parents of bipo and otherwise marginalized kids it's up to us to point out racism when
we see it and do everything we can to protect our kids from it and one more thing if your kids to the board if your kids don't keep their secret then what what will you do next cuz every book you're Banning and calling pornography would have helped you help any kids that don't keep their secrets navigate their
new identity so again I ask if they do share who they are with you what are you gonna do that's it thank you Byron Fox David W grith was a filmmaker who was a supporter for the Democrats created a film named The Clansman his film was later replayed in the White House by hang high ranking member of the
KKK and Democrat president will Jo Wilson but it was renamed a more attractive name which was Birth of a Nation with this in mind we can see Democrats disguising things that are repugnant as good loving and kind current examples of current examples are murdering of babies in the womb as reproductive Health Care the mutilation of children as gender affirming care as
well as a legislation that was passed by Democrat Lyndon Baines Johnson named The Economic Opportunity Act or what I like to call encouraging the subsidizing broken families act when the so-called Economic Opportunity Act was implemented the way it was done was by sending government agents to door to-door A lot of them were African-American homes and asking if a mother and had children then they
would proceed by asking if a father was in the home if the father was not at home the agents would offer money to the single mother or in other words subsidize a broken family as a result of Decades of subsidizing single motherhood RS black communities went from 25% to 74% of fatherless homes as a um as a
result when we look at the um now at black communities they make about 133% of the population and committing 47 to 51% of the murder consistent crime in any Community leads to economic despair because when boys don't have a good male role model boys have a tendency to group up and be mischievous when the problem was is goes unfixed it leads to gangs
gangs lead to violence theft and looting unchecked um unchecked and uncorrected looting leads to businesses that are um LED that are going that go bankrupt businesses that go bankrupt leads to J no jobs and therefore economic despair currently our school board is being sued by Democrat controlled California because we simply wanted our schools to be transparent with the
transparent with the parents it is the same party disguising itself as Arbiters of good trying to hide themselves in order to destroy the nuclear family by having schools keeping secrets from the parents because if they control if they control our children they control our future and the F and the future they want for us is to take God away from us
then destroy the family and finally take away the guns from the people so that we can be we can be defenseless so I'm here to encourage our school board to not give in and to stay strong and to send Gavin Usman his cronies a message we will we are awake and we will not comply thank you Chantel Fox that takes us to the 30
minute Mark okay um I recently submitted a Bible study for your review but I'd like to make sure the community is aware of the way Jesus would say you are perverting his message the ex aesus I sent was primarily about Matthew 23 where Jesus is admonishing the politically religious by calling down seven angry and pity filled woses the thing is Jesus himself
claims to have come to rid Believers of the chains of legalism and only to practice love Jesus scolds the politically religious for being so legalistic that they are actively turning his beloved creation against him I'm literally one of them because of you when Sonia or Andrew say publicly that this board seat is a place to fight their spiritual battle they're
effectively spitting in the face of their Christ's Wishes the Bible calls Christians to work out their salvation in private not on a smalltime political grandstand hopefully their kids never become the target of bigotry hate discrimination and violence under the guise of their parents God they don't have to worry about how this manufactured culture war will affect their students when I say manufactured I
mean entirely made up Miss Shaw references the harmful policy Sacramento is pushing and porn in our libraries but has yet to be specific or give context about either a friend of hers tried to tell me that School nurses were going rogue and handing out hormones in public school health offices this is objectively false similar to The Narrative that students were identifying
as cat and requesting litter boxes in bathrooms all of these things have been disproven so the people spreading this misinformation are either willfully ignorant or purposely meaning to do harm to a very small population of people they don't like their holy book does not have authority in public schools their fight should be done behind closed doors and on their knees not in my kids
school thank board can I get a consensus to finish the speakers we have 19 we're at we finished nine already do I have consensus how many do we have left 10 10 10 10 yeah okay okay go people keep submitting 10 more Eric shamp she asking just Eric shamp followed by Amanda Swagger followed by Lisa G good evening my name is Eric champ and
I have four children in our district school and I appreciate the opportunity to speak in front of you tonight with the district's children and young people relying on us to provide them the opportunity to learn and prepare for Life After High School we must do better as a board you must do better tomorrow there will be 16
classrooms without a full-time credential teacher in them we have students and parents coming to these meetings themselves urging you to fix the problem of classrooms full of students but without a teacher and this can't be blamed on a national teacher shortage or we that we just don't have qualified candidates Corona Norco Unified School District is twice our
size over 50,000 students and they have filled every teaching position save for three how do we ensure equal access to a highquality education is provided for every student in our district there is more to consider than just the lack of progress we have made to fill these stubbornly empty positions it also has to do with seeing and understanding the
unique experiences of our diverse Community it is a community that has a broad spectrum of cultures religions and ethnic cities has students with different learning styles students who are non-binary transgender or part of the lgbtq community all are young people who are constitutionally afforded the right to a highquality public education that provides them with the skills necessary to fully participate in the
economy our democracy and our society I believe you when you say you are working hard and spending many hours a week at the district office or visiting classrooms unfortunately despite your best best efforts we continue to struggle with the most basic tenants of a public school system further a meeting of the group speak SP AAC stands for supporters parents and
educators of African-American children just met this week their mission is to support the academic and social emotional success for African-American students by empowering parents and Educators to network and build connections for Equitable systems programs and practices they exist in part as a response to the overwhelming over representation of black students in our district suspension and expulsion rates our own data are evidencing a
racial disparity in our district this group and groups with similar missions should be applauded uplifted and supported for their work to identify the problems and come together for thoughtful and strategic discussions in search of solutions do not isolate yourself from groups like speak but engage and lean into them for greater understanding of what's going on in our
district it's there that we will find Insight voices with lived experience and a path forward thank you amantha Swagger followed by Lisa G followed by Len you can just take it off it's okay I'm so T good evening president Shaw Dr enfeld all the board cabinet and District leadership first let me introduce myself you all know who I am I've been in this
District since 2007 a proud member of the chain of Unified School District and chaino high staff today I want to first uh think uh Miss Shaw and Dr Enfield for visiting our campus I was disappointed that they didn't get to visit any of our science classrooms but it was nice to know that you care to see our beautiful
campus what I want to talk to you guys tonight is about my experiences this summer and to illustrate what the effects of our district policies have been on the students and staff of our many schools prior to this year I have experienced zero hate from community members about myself I cannot blame God for how he made me
just because I was bored with a rare genetic disorder that caused me to be who I am doesn't mean I deserve the right to be ridiculed by members of the student body and or the parents in this district there have been many many times when I've had to avoid Problems by be called derogatory terms by many of our
students and parents over who I am let me tell you a little story about this summer and I'll keep my comments short because if you've ever been in my classroom you know I love to give very passionate discussions with my students this summer I had the privilege of working for a German bugle Corp like a professional marching band from
Seattle I got to see many parts of our country from the liberal side in Seattle in Oregon to the ultra conservative side in Texas I saw Pride Flex all all over our country when I saw the school board meeting when we passed the resolution this summer all I can't say what people told me about my district I had to
support and defend the quality of our people in our district against the hateful words they said about our school board I trust every single one of you will make the right decision here but let me tell you what happened after this event I had a member come to me and say I'm afraid of my father I'm gender
diverse they know it but they're not willing to call me by my chosen name but by a dead name this father beat the I can't say the word out of the kid right in front of me during that program my father was the same way these rules suffer the safety of our students here at the district just because you don't
understand that doesn't make it true support our students have a positive safe climate for everyone here at the district thank you for letting me speak tonight you all have a great evening thank you Lisa G followed by Len Beckman followed by Stephanie [Applause] saabo it's bad enough that this board majority aity has made Chino Valley Unified School District the model for
lgbtq plus hostility and intolerance it's bad enough that you are endangering the welfare of students who don't feel safe coming out to their families it's bad enough that you are putting teachers in the middle of your manufactured hysteria and culture wars forcing them to be the pronoun police it's bad enough that you've gotten our district into a lawsuit that's going to
drain resources and distract from real issues facing the district for years to come it's bad enough that you are now on a book Banning Rampage in our school libraries generating moral outrage about children being able to read about ideas that make you uncomfortable yes all of that is bad enough but there's more Miss Shaw you chose to put yourself front and center
for every right-wing media outlet from Fox News to oan as you attended multiple rallies over the last two months in SA AC ramento and a Christian nationalist Summit in Washington DC our district did not benefit one iota by ug galavanting in front of the cameras spreading misinformation and propaganda and promoting intolerance toward teachers and our most marginalized students but
apparently you think taxpayers should be paying for your self-promotion a Freedom of Information Act request turned up multiple receipts you submitted for reimbursement including trans Transportation hotel stays and meals all the way down to your beverages at 7-Eleven so getting reimbursed for school board meeting that you didn't attend wasn't enough now we're also supposed to fund PR trips to
boost your budding political career thankfully the district had the sense to reject your reimbursement requests but shame on you for even trying oh and it also seems that you had board secretary Pat Kaylor making all of your travel Arrangements in fact it appears that Miss Kaylor joined you for at least one of your appearances as your videographer
to the best of my knowledge Miss Kaylor is the board secretary and not your personal secretary in case you haven't bothered to read up on this yet Misha when you make personal appearances outside of the scope of your duties as board president the taxpayers of Chino Valley should not be asked to pick up the tab maybe you can ask your pal Jack
Hibbs to take care of it since you're doing his bidding anyway I hope you will take time at the end of this meeting to explain yourself or set the record straight thank you thank you Len Beckman followed by Stephanie Beckman the2 bills anybody can pick up to tell me how many people signed a declaration of independence board members I just want
to say thank you um uh the hat is back I apologize but not to chastise but to encourage and and applaud um I came to report that Sonia did a great job last Sunday at a town hall I don't think you put that in for reimbursement but um I think it's time to be real with ourselves guys I just
want to ask a favor want us all to look around look next behind us whatever and and what you're going to notice there is one human race not a black race or white or green no married race or woman race honestly I've got 11 kids have been teaching for 40 years 22 of those grandkids that came along but some of
you are Christians who believe God knows how to make humans some are not some want to Red resign I mean redesign kids but we really need to in a sense stop the steal of our local kids so much of this is happening I've seen it and I can just tell you about it but not tonight I'd just like to ask stop let Sacramento
and doctrinate you and your family what is amounting to when you look at the sex chain sop stuff it's really Spain and neutering like our kids are like Junkyard Dogs it really is there's nothing different it starts with The Grooming it starts with puberty sex drugs these are irreversible the ends with you know again there's a whole lot
of difference of opinion that's what makes us great as a country but I want to mention this uh destroying adolescence turning kids into Unix and despair you know they're still girls you know they don't you know their breasts are gone boys who can't squirt in the toilet anymore Angelie Julie is still a woman she's beautiful isn't this true
but she's without her breasts but with our kids what we're ending up doing to them is we're setting up for a life irreversi I'll leave you with this guys big Med and big Ked they don't care about you this is why local students what you guys are doing local school boards are critical you're talking together you're battling you're fighting
that's a good thing in America believe it or not you saw that the Arrogant Thurman try to take over that was put down but but he controls $19 million billion dollars mark Mark these words the only way your school board and your schools among a thousand in California will be remain relevant is when you prior tax dollars from the fingers of
Kell Ed's new some Therman and B Okay the reason I said that school choice in which every one of your students actually every one of your students families decide where to apply $155,000 per student is a real solution it really is it can I'll tell you why later but I've donated $4 million to public Ed by homeschooling 11 kids for 40 years on my
dime but I do the numbers board and parents do you realize with dollars following each of your students your 26,000 students would put $397 million into your local parents' hands and all of you still would have a job trust me on that this leaves a baseline of 2655 million that's the balance of the prop 98 money you guys should take this down
as an as an item to look into because the vouchers work when a state's Monopoly school system is beyond repair and we've come to that thank you very much I'll leave it at that and God bless you guys all Stephanie stabio followed by relle hanar followed by Laya EPS there you go uh hi I'm Stephanie stabio my
comments are super brief um I just wanted to talk a little bit ear more on what Daniel uh swiming aala aala swimming water polo parent um was up here earlier but um Mrs mulqueen she's also a swim in water polo parent um sent a straightforward email asking specific questions with Incredible citations the packet was provided earlier please take
a look at it um a lot of work went into that to help share what we know with you um she did deserve more than the short responses to her questions that she got you know construction projects uh like the one at our pool that's happening is not an easy thing to to manage it's also not easy to choose a career in public
service and yet here we are deep into a renovation with staff that sees us parents as hindrances instead of allies it's part of the job to build Bridges and find common ground to work through our differences and get the job done my twin daughters have three short years left in high school and I want the best for them um I'll be around for another
four years after that with my youngest he also swims um I've been aala pool since it first opened uh I am that old uh but I so I do really have a deeply vested uh interest and one day God willing my grandchildren will attend aala so the issues and questions that we've brought forth have not been answered water polo and swim parents
have requested an in-person meeting the same meeting that are football parents were afforded and received and it's unfortunate that football parents had to pass along the information to to swim and water polo parents um that they heard at in person at their meeting um it would have been good for us to hear that firsthand so let's get
all the necessary District Personnel together and who are equipped to answer our long-standing questions let's set a meeting date let's get the committee that Daniel mentioned earlier together um we're on the same team we want a functioning great pool and we're here to help make that happened we're very active booster across water polo and swim um just please don't dismiss uh our
concerns listen to what we have to say and we're here to work together to get our poll up and running thank you thank you Michelle hanar called by Laya EPS I was just going to add you guys every one of you did receive that email from Mrs mil Mrs mqueen thank you reference we can't be adding in just
please credit card and we'd be happy to hear the comments followed by Laya EPS followed by Misty good evening my name is relle hanari put yourself in a scenario and sitting in a classroom full of your peers staring at you because of a topic of a history in your history class of slavery not only are your peers staring
at you but so is your teacher as they are off about the horrible things that were done to African-Americans during those times this is not new we are all aware of slavery so why is it that I am being looked at this is just a small piece of what it's like to be to be NAA student let me take you all deeper of
what I have to deal with on a daily basis students who are not black will say the nword and giggle away while looking at me as if to taunt me Whispering at each other oh look she looked back in the four years that I have been here nothing has changed from the way I get looked at in class during
history or English at school or because of my hair how I am taunted with the nword to see how I react if you think nothing is wrong with the way African-American students are being treated or that everyone is being treated equally on campus that means you aren't looking hard enough and it's partially because no one is doing
anything this is become the norm the amount of times I've changed my hairstyle for my own purposes yet to have people feel invited to come and touch my hair as if it were as if I were a unicorn never seen before the amount of thoughts I have had about not being comfortable in my own brown skin because
of the things that I have to hear see and experience this if this is something that I have to go through on a daily basis what do you think other students have to go through that they have that you guys have overlooked I am no unicorn I am an african- AM American student and my name is relle hanari thank you thank
you Laya EPS Laya EPS followed by Misty followed by Mary thesis hi my name is Laya EPs and I go to rubena high school you are expected to be the expert on the black experience be it during black history month or when you get to the slavery chapter in US history class everyone will look at you to articulate the black
perspective and to be the expert on the black narrative or of black experience there will be times where people will even turn around to look at you when a teacher asks a question as if to say well share with the class in some really bad instances teachers may even single you out and call upon you to educate the
class for me though my teachers were great but there was one year freshman year excuse me if your desire is to fade into the background as the black kid in a white school you will be very sad because you will stand out you will answer questions about the aspects of your exper of your appearance skin can black people get a tan hair
does it curl like that naturally or do you have a perm and nothing ISS off limits people may even try to touch your hair you become admt at code switching I grew up in a predominantly black and Mexican neighborhood so I had a way of talking and relating at home that was very different from how I spoke and
related when I step foot on school campus people make stereotypical ass assumptions being black at a PR predominantly white school people tend to assume they understand your family background and usually their assumption is based on false information you'll dread decisions on racism because you're tired of being that girl who always has something to say and you are defin Ely tired of
hearing people get annoyed about your experience and tell you to get over it even though I can recall many occasions when I was targeted for racism or simply as an ignorant ignorant comment all of the above made it a challenging environment but there are many people that are amazing and fantastic at my school I believe this experience
prepared me well for the life yet to come Made Me Stronger and more confident and far less clear to the negative Tendencies my generation is known for because at the end of the day we are all equal and we bleed the same blood thank you thank you Misty followed by Mary thesis followed by Christa Irwin did you sayy
Misty good evening um I just want to say that the vicious attacks the personal accusations that are coming your way are unacceptable and they are pure evil I don't understand people's intent in accusing you of certain things and I just want to apologize because it's wrong and out of line despite this you all the entire board have had the courage to not give
up and I want to thank you for that you are doing what is right for the majority of the students and their families in this District there's no way to please 100% of the people 100% of the time it is impossible anything that is sexually explicit has no purpose on a school campus of any age group what is the actual educational
purpose of having books like that on a campus if a parent is okay with their child reading such books I encourage them to take their child to the city library and check it out with them maybe they can even read it together as a family as a family bonding experience book Banning is not happening no one is standing in your way to read
them on your own time and in your own home they don't belong on a campus thank you for understanding that parents are the most important people in their child's life why the state of California is telling our kids otherwise is baffling and why the state is trying to make this an lgbtq issue I don't understand it is not it is far from it
no one is against your choice of sexual orientation this battle is about the state and the government trying to weasel their way into our homes by trying to be the parent and our board is standing in the way because it understands our given God given rights and our desire to care for our own kids so thank you and I know how hard
you are all working I am happy to pay for your Beverages and your snacks and to help give you the energy to keep going in this fight I am amazed at all you are doing you are TR truly an Energizer Bunny and I see it and you are giving others the courage to stand up as well it starts
with just one person some people are just still sore losers thank you thank you Mary thesis followed by Chris Christy good evening uh superintendent and board members I'm Mary TI I have been a school nurse for 19 years uh first of all we want to thank you for all the important work you do for the district we the
credential School nurses of Chino Valley Unified School District wrote a letter to the board members superintendents Act and the director of Health Services stating our concerns regarding the medical safety of all student students within our district we account for only 0.6% of Chino Valley Unified School District staff management 100% of the enrolled student health needs to be needs to help bridge
the gap between health care and education though we are small in numbers we come from a specialized and skilled practice of that nursing that nursing protects and promotes student health facilities optimal development and AD advaned academics our responsibilities include ensuring that medically related needs of all our students are met in an ethical and appropriate manner additionally we
assist the district risk reduction training of staff to meet medical related needs participate as members of the IEP team and management of the medical complication that occurs during the school days per our contract Act and the District School nurses are to be staffed at a ratio of one credential school nurse for every 2,000 students to meet this requirement nurses are given two to
four School sites each requiring the need to travel between sites daily appropriate staff is necessary in order to provide Safe Care and ensure quality outcome Los Angeles Unified and all districts within the Orange County staff one nurse per School site with larger schools often Staffing two nurses at each site to be clear these numbers do not include Health office assistants
like health technicians who require no medical treatment who require sorry who require no medical training upon hiring AIDS or licensed vocational nurse hired for the care of specific students through the IEP process thus the Staffing of Chino Valley UniFi School District nurse fall short of the surrounding areas additionally there is no mechanism to replace or sub a nurse who is out on medical sick
personal development days or vacation leave this results in nursing being required to absorb the absent nurses assignments increasing our ratio of of nurse to student in upwards to three to four St 3 to 4,000 students each with no compensation this is similar to to a classroom educator being told that they must manage and teach two classes of
students when their coworker is absent the difference being that they would get compensated for this added responsibility thank you Christa [Applause] Irwin good evening I'm going to continue with our nursing concern letter um for the school year of 2022 2023 nurses were forced to work over 80% % of our our contracted days um over our ratio I'm sorry additionally nurses are
only provided with two prep days prior to the start of the school year one of these prep days is reserved for mandatory nurse training with over 7,000 students with known medical conditions throughout the district this prevents us from properly training and educating site staff contacting parents for medical updates reviewing physician orders training bus aides and transportation staff creating
individualized care plans and immunization review prior to the start of the school year these essential responsibilities that are written into Ed code are unable to be completed leaving students in potential danger and the district out of compliance between the time that the school year begins and when training and followup can occur with nearly all district nurses holding
a master's degree are higher we understand the value of education but it it's not sustainable the way that the current system is running we are burnt out and overwhelmed CVUSD School nurses are making an average of 28% less less money yearly than other interdisiplinary District professionals that require specialization in their field this needs to change we proposed a few um options
to you but I'm going to go through um some other stuff so I can finish in time the bottom line is that your District nurses and your students deserve better Our concern and growing unease is that the nurses are simply spread too thin to safely provide the medical care needed placing the health and safety of students at risk please
help us to address this concern before any unfortunate and possibly life-changing event happens to one of our students we are willing to meet with anyone explain our licensing and performance requirements walk you through one of our days uh bring you along for a day whatever is needed to educate you about what we do and what is needed to improve student safety thank
you again for opening up more time to listen to our concerns have a good night thank you thank you to all of our speakers and especially our students that came and took their time to speak to us we really truly appreciate that um we're now on to changes and deletions change Pat are there any changes the following changes on the

imperative that community members launch visible Substance Abuse Prevention to education efforts to reduce the demand for drugs we are supporting the national theme for 2023 red whing week be kind to your mind live drug free we'll help amplify the campaign's mission to encourage children's families and communities to live healthy happy and drug-free lives and serve as a reminder
that we are all empowered with shaping the communities around us through positive bravery and strength Ras the Red Ribbon campaign will be celebrated in every community in America during Reed Reon week whereas business government law enforcement schools religious institutes service organizations youth senior citizen military sport teams and individuals can demonstrate their commitment to drug free alcohol abusef free health
Lifestyles by wearing and displaying Red Ribbon during this campaign now therefore be resolve the Board of Education of Chino Valley Unified schooler does hereby support October 23rd to 31st 2023 as red ban week and encourage the students and staff to participate in drug prevention education activities making a visible statement that we are firmly committed to a drug-free alcohol abusef free community
lifestyle that's it did you just want to read it out in the public yeah it's good okay so is there any other comments or questions in regards to this item no okay so we'll go ahead and take a vote all in favor I I any opposed preferential yes the motion passes with a vote of 5 to zero preferential voting
yes and then we'll go to Mr Bridges item for the agreements of contractors and con consult Services can I have a motion I'll go Motion it second or you had it can I second yes I'll second thank you okay we'll go ahead and open it up to discussion Mr Bridge yeah uh specifically this deals with uh with the
um the master contract mc23 2455 litera Incorporated and my question's basically been answered by the yellow sheet because I think like many uh that looked at the agenda when it first came out was kind of surprised to see it say all want all sites in in the district and I had a concern uh with that uh basically somewhat uh with what
we heard the topics brought up earlier during uh during public comment uh so that uh this the yellow sheet says for those of you that have not been able to see it it's just specifically referring to one School site that's it not the uh not the other sites so I'm I I'm okay with that because I did not want to see Scholastic
IC be replaced as as one who has um a spouse who taught uh many years in Elementary in this District before moving on to the junior high she purchased a lot of Scholastic Books her students purchased a lot of Scholastic Books she her room library was was filled with Scholastic Books because of the purchases and I uh would hate to see
that company uh go away because of uh some concerns with uh that might be out there because as we all know in this district and I'm is saying this uh because of what it seems to be not what it actually is it seems like anything it's perception is 9/10 of the law and that's not always correct so
that's why I wanted to clarify this tonight since it is on a yellow sheet so everybody would know right up front that we're dealing with just one site and not what the original agenda says if you looked at it on online so with that uh that concludes my comments and I'm prepared to vote on it thank you Mr
Bridge do we have any other comments NOP I think my only comment is I don't think I've ever heard a board member say they wanted to ban Scholastics so I'm glad we got to put that to rest right now thank you Mr Bridge um so seeing that there is no other comments we will go ahead and take a vote all in favor I any opposed
preferential thank you the motion passes with a vote of 5 to zero with preferential voting yes we're now on to information items Pat are there any requests to speak board members are there any questions seeing that there's none we'll go on to Communications um we're going to go with Mr Bridge okay just a couple of uh quick uh
quick comments uh I was able to attend the uh Don Lugo homecoming game last Friday and and see their halftime performance and was pleased to see the uh the crowd and attendance and support that the school got for that um a week from uh Saturday uh uh I know there are several events going on in the community
but on uh the Saturday night or actually all day Saturday the 14th a yala high school is hosting its 16th annual music and motion band field show tournament with an afternoon and an evening session I know we have uh Don Lugo uh Chino Hills High and aala participating in that so if you're not going to another event that's uh already been planned uh
in the area I would encourage attendance at that it's quite uh it's quite a show and uh performances and a lot of great music and just a very nice evening and then uh lastly and Dr Enfield I I did mention this to you yesterday uh want if you give a brief explanation I've had some concerns addressed to me about the
uh button on the district website that leads to uh fundraising and uh I just wondered if you could give a brief uh explanation of why that's there and and what uh is possibly going to happen with it yeah there was the district was receiving a uh a number of phone calls that uh staff came to me and asked um uh
people out of state in state wanting to donate money to the school district regarding the lawsuit with the state of California and so staff asked if we could have a button on there to send them to that so they could just reference it rather than having a a long conversation and so it was uh decided by me to place it on there uh as an
announcement and uh when the when I get uh confirmation that we're not having as many phone calls we'll look at removing that okay thank you that uh that concludes my comments because I guess you have something planned for the 19th so I won't mention it tonight thank you Mr Bridge we'll go with Mr naw okay uh yeah
um Dr anfield uh we had a parents uh who had concern over I swimming facility and they have uh some documents um compiled and I think our secretary has it uh could you please have our staffs review that yes not a problem okay thank you and um is our awesome teacher Jenny Gordon from Adult School still here yeah
thank you so much Jenny uh I have actually uh went into your classroom more than several times uh you've been a great teacher a wonderful teacher for that school and I I fully Now understand what was happening uh the situation with Adult School uh I I support uh your thoughts and I think you're on the right stand
that's my personal perspective um Dr anfield can you look into that matter uh if we had promised our our staffs there that once we're able that we could replenish their last time to Adult School uh staffs were are looking into that so uh Dr mfield just said yes so we'll see uh what we could do about that uh Mr
Gorton so thank you again for your great service to the school and all the staffs we we hate losing good staffs and teachers and without teachers um we can't have a great schools as we saw tonight two students from Ayala where they got perfect scores and they all mentioned about teachers um K engin uh she wants to become a
pa um and Lucas he wants to be a uh one day computer scientist and this all coming from teachers collaborating with students in the classroom setting so again uh without teachers we can't grow thank you and lastly our our uh awesome nurses uh they were here voicing their thoughts uh I think uh Act is representing are are wonderful nurses I'm sure uh
you're in good hands and and I I give my personal support too and whatever we could do to to uh fix your frustrations uh you can count on all of us thank you um now let's go back to the basics there's a common ground to to all the speakers here who are all of our parents and all of our
stakeholders and all of our teachers number one all students in this school district deserves and will have the best education experience at Chino Valley UniFi School District that is the reason why we're here that is the reason why we're here so we need to remember that number two parental involvement is not only welcomed but appreciated at Chino Valley

ask Could you um could we get a safety report we we've had a lot of changes over the last year can we have a report on what those changes were that we've implemented there's a lot of questions on school safety yeah not a problem um and I do want to congratulate Keon and Lucas for their amazing feat um they
knocked me out of my socks up here so they they uh incredible talking to us the fact that they got a perfect score I can't even fathom because I didn't even take one AP test so I will leave that to them uh I too was at Don Lugo homecoming I do want to say one thing it's nice to see the
support that is being uh given to that program this year the Don lugos over the last several years the support of the football games has really been lacking uh they've got some new blood and the boosters they're doing a great job and and the the stands have been full at the home home games it's nice to see some support come back to that
school and I just I hope that this community keeps it going because that school definitely needs it um we had a couple young ladies from Mya St tonight I see one that's here um if you hang around I would love to talk to you after this meeting and um and connect with you uh if you if you would please um and and
thank you for being here tonight that that's all I have thanks thank you Mr Monroe Mr Cruz as for adult as for adult I support you that was very thoughtful and you're you're welcome you could use me Mr no or anybody so yes I I would love to represent you thank you so thank you you do you do a good job and as for
the water polo um the committee yeah I think that's a good idea there there there's so much going on with with the water polo at aala that maybe we should like you know start all over and and come together you know how committee like they were suggesting I will have staff yeah good and as for the nurses yeah I I
agree you know one to 2,000 students that's quite a bit of people that's a lot of students but um you know um like last time I got a per violation so I don't know what to say so um I support them so let's let's make it happen okay guys let's begin um the 16th annual motion Music in
Motion at at um October 14 2023 Don Antonio Lugo High School they will have their band at 3:30 p.m. and Chino Hills will have theirs at 8:10 p.m. and aala high school will have it at 8:25 p.m. this is really amazing stuff I I just love it I I look forward to this I look forward to this and then District
college fair is at aala October 9th at 6:30 p.m. Thursday morning Thursday morning okay oh yes let's I'd like to share some music Cho High School um some beautiful music I mean it it's so awesome to report music from our students and um this is my favorite I'm doing what I love to do so let's let's hear it some
[Music] here oh that's so that's so awesome I really enjoy I really enjoy that stuff I really enjoy sharing of of the feelings that I get you know being in education for it's going to be 25 years that I am so fortunate to have a job a real job and a job to to just be myself and um
I'm grateful I'm really grateful for that and um I'd like to share a picture now this one here from time to time like I said I I you know I asked students they want to buy you know if they're able you know sell it to me and so forth so this one here now this one here made
me think about one thing and that was marshmallows and it brought me back when I was a kid you know um with with my friends I I grew up in Anaheim and I had a lot of surfers friends but I never surfed because I was I was afraid of the water and so this this brought me back memories of of
of those times when we got together and had those bonfires and so usually that's how it happens and that is I see these pictures that students make and it just I remember things I remember memories memories of of of my friends which I really don't see them anymore but but this one I really enjoy and so in doing
this while thinking about this I actually was thinking about you Nicole and that is these bonfires I can remember my last year I was so happy of graduating from high school and then after two months I I felt sad because I would never see my friends again and it was a very sad experience and I was thinking about Nicole I was I was
thinking about what you're going to be going through with all your friends and all that excitement so I got you something I got you a marshmallow so you could go in your backyard or or at the beach and then this one too I I got two of them because you know when you have a lot of friends when you have a lot of
friends and you're you're grateful those are the times that you're grateful so here's two of [Music] them you you cannot imagine how much I feel when I do things like this this means so much to me of what I'm doing means so much you cannot imagine you cannot imagine how it makes me feel because I'm being who I am and I
really care less what you think you know since 2012 I really care less okay people so um I'll take off my shirt because I love doing this people I just love it sorry the comments in the audience we have to please keep them now this one is going to go to I Spy now when I was a
child I can remember this in elementary I went to schwitzer elementary school and um obviously we know what this is this is so cool this is so awesome you know I Spy you got to look for things and so forth so this will go to anabor oh I tell you these are memories and I have to tell you something guys a
lot of you I've known since 2012 I'm going to remember you until I die or maybe afterwards so I'm so grateful to know a lot of you because I see your faces and I've created collages in my room there I'm telling you it it's it's so beautiful but I got some good news I got some good news
people Miller versus California uh Miller versus California determined what was appropriate of of Library novels so I'm going to we're going to try to plan an action item of inappropriate materials that U people are trying to push our public school and this is called the Miller test and it is a it is a supreme court US Supreme Court
Miller versus California I suggest that we create something like this for for our district because at this moment at this time there is a revolution occur and something big is going to happen it's going to be this side which is like non-human demonic or this side where it's cuman and this is the direction we're going and so um we we have to protect
our children because they're really can the audience please keep your comments to yourself no I'm sorry I'm running a board meeting and I don't allow that in the board meeting he was quiet while you spoke so please pay attention or you may leave you do not speak during this time this is not your time to speak it's
embarrassing that you behave this way you're adults go ahead Mr Cruz well thank you you're welcome and um yeah I think it's true some of you should be knowing the fact that I've been here since 2012 and some of you guys may me what I am now you know what I mean and um like I said a lot of you I'll never forget
your faces I will always remember you and that's how it goes so I'm very proud I'm very proud to be myself I'm very proud to protect the kids I'll do anything that I can and I'm proud that you're here too in your I I have to tell you something what I think I don't know why I think like this but every time I look
at some of you you remind me of big birds big grotesque Birds it's just weird I'm just telling you it just it's just abhor it I I don't know what to think it just I just want to share that with you because that's what I think about birds thank you thank you Mr Chris okay and I'm sorry you have to endure
that I will pay attention a little bit more when people start to get out of line in the audience um please you're more than welcome to leave because it's inappropriate you're inappropriate yeah we'll wait until she thank you Miss Swagger I do apologize if we didn't hit your classroom I know there were some teachers that were on
prep it was never the intention to miss your so if you can get with me I would love to schedule a time to come to your classroom personally and any other science classes we actually asked to um reach all the classrooms but unfortunately sometimes some are you know in this or that or the other but I would love to come and visit your
classroom and offer any kind of support or just encouragement or just to be able to be there with you um and see how awesome of a teacher I've heard great things about you so we appreciate you coming to the campus you absolutely anytime I would love to come it is one of my favorite things to do um when Dr
infeld and I are able to do that and thank you and I will make sure I reach out to you to do that um the water po Polo meeting um Dr Enfield just mentioned that was one of my questions too that he would have staff meet with the parents because we um obviously do not want this disconnect and we don't
want them thinking that you know the district is the enemy in any way um I'm also looking into some things with Dr Enfield about choir that were concerns that were raised um this week with talking to certain parents um cenne and Lucas you know we're extremely proud of both of you and thank you and your families and all your teachers and staff
for supporting you I do want to take uh tell our custodians a special thank you I know our custodians at roads I used to love um just the little bit of chats that I used to get when my kids were in elementary I know you guys always work hard and one thing is really clearly evident when we're walking campuses the
the school grounds despite you know having hundreds of kids on there and even thousands in some cases they look pretty darn good um so I am really grateful for all the hard work that they do um Pat I know that people are inappropriate and rude and I appreciate everything you do for this board you do a tremendous amount of work to support
us and I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart I am blessed enough to call you a friend and I appreciate our personal time together and I also appreciate our business relationship you are amazing and don't let any of that noise ever get in your head um I also appreciate when I'm invited to clubs or fun things like that I got to be able to
go to a couple of them the last in within the last two weeks I got to sit with some parents and um hear some concerns about Internet safety and I've already been looking with Dr Enfield to see if there's anything else our district can do um but I will tell you this we are pretty buckled down I would
ask parents to please just be visual in any kind of proxies that your kids may be able to get into we can't see and hear everything but once our district sees those they shut them down immediately so if teachers or parents or even students see or know a proxies that anybody else is getting into that has inappropriate material please report it
as soon as possible we want to shut those things down unfortunately the internet is a crazy um thing that you know our kids can get their hands and eyes into a lot of things and we want to make sure we're doing everything we can to prevent them from seeing anything obscene um I appreciate all my site visits in the
last two weeks we got to spend some time at Chino High I appreciate the band doing a special performance for Dr Enfield and I it was pretty awesome to walk in there and and see that um Ramona I appreciate their time yes yesterday and um also Marshall for today I just I can't tell you enough how much of a
blessing it is to see how unique each teacher is in their classroom but how great and how engaged our students are and and it really truly is something that I value it gives me a better Insight of things that are going on in the classroom and and it helps us Bridge a gap between you know if there is any
to make sure that we give the support or even just to you know share ideas or just anything like that I mean it's exciting when you hear a principal say oh we got to go make sure we go into so and so's classroom because they want to make sure that you go into there that is an exciting fun thing and I appreciate
it always the only thing I asked Dr Enfield is can we have some lunch at one of the sites one time because sometimes we're there during lunchtime and I smell the food and it takes me back to being in elementary and that was a fun time um also um let's see special ed Dr Enfield can you please tell everyone when the
next meeting is for that committee that I had asked for or maybe maybe we can I I didn't mean to throw you under the bus I think it's November 5th if I remember us I just want to make sure parents are aware of that so they can attend um we'll get the date for you guys I didn't
mean to do that on the us but when it came up in my head when parents were talking about Special Ed I want to make sure that they know that there is a parent um committee that we had asked uh to be formed to have more involvement because these committees are very important to have parents voices that
are experiencing these things um we'll find out that date and then also I think that is it other than I just want to tell our community thank you for your support um despite the death threats and the nasty things that I do get I get a tremendous amount of SP uh support I see things all over the internet that are
creating hostile environments and that are incorrect and untrue and I'm kind of embarrassed that adults put those things out there um but I do want to say on social media I don't really answer Mo most of those because there's tons but when I've asked for when I've been asked for specific sites or books in our specific schools I've been very
transparent with that you're more than welcome to send my district email and ask me for those things I only focus thing on things when I bring them to our site that are in our district and I'm sorry but when I am asked for specific books that are in our own libraries and I hear comments like oh it's only one or
two scenes or one or two pages I'm sorry but if a kid is seeing one or two pages of really wildly inappropriate material me as a Schoolboard member I have a duty and I'm going to continue to do that Duty regardless of the lies that are spal over the internet and my um I guess Fox uh appearance uh news shows whatever
you want to call them I love that you guys watch everything I do because you get out to the public more than I can I don't have the time to put stuff on social media so I appreciate you guys all posting that for me um but I do want to read a little part out of a book um
yeah this is out of a book that was in one of our libraries and I am working on something to make sure that these things the public has the ability to bring these to our attention to remove them not Schoolboard members so Banning books please stop your agenda and your rhetoric it is false it's embarrassing that you're saying that we're uh
removing Harry Potter books and all these other books when I looked up the Harry Potter story that I saw recently that that was stating that you know we're we're removing books like that when I actually looked that up that happened in Texas and I I I know some of you aware of this story it was a parent
who was upset because an elementary school decided that they weren't going to have that particular book which has nothing to do with CV USD by the way and nothing to do with any of these Schoolboard members that I've heard come out of their mouths and it was the fact that the author said it was appropriate for certain ages so the school district
decided to move it into that appropriate ages schools I don't see anything wrong with that didn't happen here at CVUSD but the fact that people are going around saying that book was banned I think it's funny all they did was um put an age appropriate book in the age appropriate Library that's what school boards do that's what they determine so
this whole book Banning thing is embarrassing that people are in our own Community are trying to raise noise when it's not even happening here but I I know I will address the questions that were asked to me I'm a very transparent person and I will get to um Mrs great House's concerns in a second as well because I believe in transparency but
here's one thing about a book that's particularly in our district and when I was asked about it I shared the pages and I shared what schools they were in because it's your job as parents if you don't like it to bring it to our awareness one was yeah Earl I'm going to eat her mm- yeah H do you even know how to eat
mm oh not really papa gains never sat you down said Son one day you're going to have to eat the no but he didn't teach me how to eat a and I'm saying because they're inappropriate words that kids should not be listening to when Earl in full gross out mode you have you have to play along and feel stupid God bless that man yep I
would reach out and with some itting techniques and but it's linked complicated I won't continue but I'm sorry if that's in a library and you guys are disturbed by hearing me saying when you know what words there I don't care if it's a page or two pages or a paragraph that to me as a parent if I
was a parent I would bring it to our school board's attention and say this is inappropriate this is nasty and it has no business this is not about enrichment this is not about letting our kids being exposed to things if you want this exposed to your child I'm embarrassed for you and I think it's V and I think
that that you as a parent should question yourself but as far as a school district sorry I will work hard to make sure that parents have access to tools to make sure that we have the ability to vote these things in and out of our schools that's not a book baning it's determining what is appropriate in a
school district thank you and as far as the receipts I go to a lot of things on my own personal time I told you I can add you to my 360 send me a a message and I'll put you on there you can you know you already post wherever I go and you all know who I'm talking about but
here's the thing when I went to Sacramento I was fighting a bill AB 1078 that has to do with what I do as a Schoolboard member one trip was paid by the district and yes I wasn't going to put a $15 bottle of water on the district's dime so I walked in the middle of the night at 11
something to the 7-Eleven now anybody knows when they go on trips you see people go to expensive dinners I did not do that I bought the most cheapest of cheapest meals because that is what is included in the school board's duty if I'm going to do something in the school board's Duty every other trip was not was not paid by this District it was
just in regards to AB 10 1078 and as a matter of fact I've went to Sacramento a couple times on my own dime that had nothing to do with the district paying for it but it's something that I feel is necessary as a Schoolboard member so yes you may Place those receipts all over line and and say whatever you want I
mean you've already said I've been cheating on my husband you've already been saying this about my children um it's okay like Mr Cruz says that says more about you than it does about me I'm here to do a job job no matter what you say it will not beat me up it's not going to make me stop every little thing
that you put on there it's embarr I'm actually embarrassed for you so keep exposing yourself because when you run a candidate to try to get up here the community already knows who you are and with that said I am now going to adjourn the regular Board of meeting at the meeting okay the meeting for special education is November 9th that's
all November 9th and uh if you go to your school site you'll be able to get more information on that but I wanted to make sure that you know that I now adjourn the regular Board of Education meeting at 806
