voting yes no further action was taken which requires public disclosure thank you so much M Taylor okay so now we have tonight's pledge allegiance we have some special guests in the front row all the way down and um shant can you please lead us in the pledge uh please put your right hand over your heart and ready I pledge allegiance to

the flag of the United States of America to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you thank you so much Sean we're on to one of our favorites recognition misss um we we have first our honores is the aella high school entrepreneur team Mr borin welcome back can you and your students meet me

at the podium to share with everyone your your students amazing accomplishments good evening I would like to start off by thanking the board for providing us the opportunity to speak here tonight in recognition of our achievement and I also like to thank my teacher Dr Bourne for teach teaching A's AP Capstone business pathway and Paving the way towards my and my teammates

success recently myself and my two friends were given the opportunity through the business Pathway to pitch our business idea in front of a live audience in hopes of gaining funding so my group and I began by pondering the many problems that us teenagers have been struggling with on a daily basis basis this is when the idea struck us we

would create an app that helps people quickly choose an outfit the app would work by scanning your current wardrobe and taking in weather data as well as current fashion trends to carry outfits that one could wear that day we pitched this idea to the judges and they loved us they asked lots of questions and we were able to showcase our strong

understanding of society's needs and our products abilities this all accumulated in our group placing third out of the 10 groups we competed against earning a grand total of $1,000 to put towards our idea this would not have been possible without Dr Bourne's business pathway and the district's continued support for it we put a lot of time and effort into

this competition and we are proud of our results thank you now I would like to pass it on to um the other winners um M and William good evening board thank you for this opportunity to share our experience in the business pitch competition my name is William wing and on behalf of my business partner miir mandapaka we would

like to First first thank our teacher Dr Arthur borne for introducing us to this competition as high schoolers we usually have a hard time tracking our earned volunteer hours as well as finding new opportunities to earn hours this led to the creation of our business idea a new app called Vol andap using our user-friendly app students could track

their hours as well as look for new opportunities to volunteer in their area we are given very limited time to work on our pitch which was made more difficult with our extracurriculars and schoolwork with the help of our expert adviser V nen however we managed to create a successful pitch that earned a second place in a grand total of

$1,500 thanks to your overwhelming generosity to support young entrepreneurs such as me here and myself we are able to create a new way to help our community as well as earn a grant towards developing this app thank you now I'd like to pass off to Dr Boren good evening superintendent Enfield president Shaw uh School Board member senior staff uh colleagues

students community members and friends thank you once again for the opportunity to come before you and to present you know our wonderful students we did something unique in addition to this this year we started a financial literacy engagement activity and all the students there was probably 85 from myala 17 groups uh lasted about four months they had a hypothetical

$100,000 to invest in the stock market they had to research stocks look at charts fundamentals we met at lunch we did a bunch of great stuff that the students were really engaged uh it's my honor and privilege to present Logan Orosco a 10th grader brand new to our pathway and Logan was able to not only um sort of out invest uh the the

students at aala but he also placed uh regionally and has a State ranking as well so without further Ado it's my privilege to present Logan good evening board I just want to say I'm so thankful for the opportunity that has been granted to me by both you the board and Mr Boren to be able to demonstrate my abilities and my

understandings of the market in order to produce a 9% a gain within four months on our stock market game um 27% is what that equal thank you I was able to essentially take a look at various amounts of analytical data and study the maret market and see as well as generally where legislature was going was one of the biggest things I took

advantage of in order to see where where I could invest and where I could take a look in order to make sure that I turned out the most profit that I possibly could very good good [Applause] job impressed proud very grateful for your leadership always wanted to present you pleas okay I don't want to pronounce your name thank

you by the way our superintendent loves Sock so I don't know if you see language grae thank you very [Applause] much William thank you guys so much we appreciate all that you do and we look forward to your future success please let us know any upat dates we would love to hear how things are going and I know

you always keep us posted thank you very much for doing that we love it um you guys we would love a picture with you guys board if that's okay okay one two three and this way please one two three say I'll tell you yeah job good job sir yeah Sean I want to ask you a quick question

sure how you got the concept how did that originate it was like brainstorming or or one of you guys was eating dinner and then it just popped in your mind I mean how did this solve yeah okay so um what gave us the idea was that we were all brainstorming together for the when presented with the business pitch and

one common issue that we felt that we all had was that in the morning we spent way too much time figuring out what to wear getting ready and it was just like a hassle overall so we wanted to find a good solution to manage the time and still look good wow that's awesome so there there was a problem and and you

brought it you you made it you you tried to what find ways to alleviate the time yeah and and to mainly capitalize on the phone yeah that's good good job thank you thank you very much thank you well I have a comment uh behind great students we have a great parents and without their so par parents we wouldn't have a

great students may I have all the parents please stand up let's give them a big hands please stand up should take pict and yeah yeah yeah and and at the same time parents come and take pictures with your kids come on come on come on I think Andy you can get a picture of the parent we don't have to get in the

picture we'll just stay back here and then parents the parents and the [Applause] okay and if you guys need an official excusal because I know you guys have studying to do and a lot of uh stuff to do so you may obviously leave we do not want you to have feel like you have to stay if you want to stay you're more

than welcome thank you very much good thank you Mr Bor thank you Bor thank you Dr ready there are 10th graders 11th grader 10 he reconvene is can Mo chairs of a foot all R back here yeah okay after after this after if the front row wants to move up she'll put them where at that we'll take a

quick was you mean you don't want to sit on each other's laughs are we good now everybody's got room okay we're going to move on to another recognition for two very special um security guards I'm going to give you a little little background on both of them I'll start with Mr Davis um Mr Davis yes you deserve a a many

Applause he's worked at cbsd for 18 years initially a part-time patrol officer he's worked at the adult school and he has been working on his 17th year serving at at d d community and students on campuses as a security officer I have personally seen him doing his job connecting with students and I couldn't be more proud of Mr Davis and I know the

board feels the same way um you're an amazing asset and we appreciate and love you um and we also now have Miss Mrs Davila who also goes by GG hired in 2019 as a sub worked as a noon ground a one-on-one instruct instructional Aid and also a clerk and now is a full-time bus driver with the route that support students attending

the Riverside School of the death no sign language and I can go on and on about both of them but I think more importantly I would like to invite them both up because they both have an amazing story back on December 11th 2023 an underclassman at D was in distress in the bathroom room that's when Miss dula

and Mr Davis sprung into action it was really a testament to the team the team work that they do and the district training so please miss Davila and Mr Davis would you join me at the podium and maybe give us a little bit of insight on what happened that day if that's okay um that day December 11th

um it's funny because that particular day I woke up in the morning I wasn't really feeling well at all so I didn't know whether I was going to make it in or not but I made it in and um I was on my normal Patrol I heard a call distress over the radio to come quickly to the

girls restroom um once I got there I seen Gigi I didn't see I seen her but I didn't see her because Gigi was underneath the stall and only thing was sticking off from her with her legs she was in a process of pulling this young lady out of the stall because she locked herself inside the stall and she ODed so

when Gigi finally got her out of the stall her body laying there Motionless um face was real pale lips turning colors so we try to hey are you awake are you okay what's going on very nonresponsive whatsoever so based upon my uh training and my knowledge of the training that I had um I knew this young lady was in distress now I know the

district equipped us with Naran for incidents overdose and at that time in my mind there was no doubt that this young lady needed n can so I gave her a dose went nostril and the moment I gave her the dose I don't know if anybody ever seen Nan work but this stuff brings you back like that I mean she just automatically

sprung back and at that time Gigi took over and she was more or less comforting her we put her in a recovery position and then we called for the paramedics um and I get I did end up giving her a second dose of noran about 4 minutes later just to make sure she would be all right until the paramedic showed up and

the paramedic showed up and that was that that's awesome yeah that's so [Applause] cool hi it's just it's bring me back at that moment um all I can say I was there God put me there for a Reon and I just thank him for the way that I react cuz I never thought I would react that way I react

to mother I have two childrens um and my first reaction was to safer to run I run I never thought I would run that fast and um and I'm I'm glad she's doing okay and um it didn't went fored um thank you thank you it this means a lot and um and that's it thank [Applause] you problem's listening but from the

bottom of our hearts we know that you guys do daily saving of our children by just being there for them and mentoring them and I know this is nothing in comparison to what's in our hearts for the appreciation and especially from the parents we love you guys you guys go above and beyond you know how much our

district loves our security guards and our bus drivers you guys are amazing you are I mean we love you tremendously and we appreciate everything that you're doing and have done thank you for being there and just thank you for just making sure you put every effort forward to making sure that student was safe I mean that goes a long ways and and I I know

that one day she's going to look back back and see those two guarden angels in her mind and appreciate everything and then know that you know she she was here for a purpose as well and she you guys were there for a purpose that day like you said so thank you so much thank you thank you thank

[Applause] you Mr Davis I could say you're one of my favorites but the other one need to ready one two three GG you want to open yours up yeah okay I would like to thank the board for recognizing in me I also am very thankful that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ put me in a position to make a difference on that

day um I am also thankful for being armed and equipped with the knowledge skills and tools to have carried out this heroic act in a time of peril I am I am also Al happy to know that the young lady I helped has made a full recovery and is taking strides and revamping her life with her family I would like to thank my family

and friends for showing up to support me it means a lot thank you thank you you Davis did you say I have a comment okay yeah thank you um Mr Davis um when you're at Don Lugo High School I spent many many hours with you and you have taken that campus just like your home you have taken all those children

as your own you have watched all those Gates as your own house gates and that day you have been used to save one's life thank you Mr Davis for your your utmost servitude for the multitude but it goes beyond that you are only a portion and one picture one one picture of our so security personnels as a group all of our

security SEC personnels really need to be recognized and appreciated and this is what we talk about all the time of showing true respect and honoring uh you people you are truly part of our family and I would feel whatever that we could do to help and enhance your working situations were there for you and I hope all the people in the district

feels the same way so thank you again for Mr Davis and our security department personnels thank you very much thank you I just want to say one thing Mr Davis every time I see you you assume so much goodness cuz when I see you I feel so much goodness coming from you so I I want to acknowledge that that that

you're such a good man that actually I care a lot about you thank you so thank you very much I truly appreciate that thank you work okay we're now on to item 1D comments from our student representative Chloe good evening board president Shaw members of the board superintendent Enfield and distinguished guests winter sports are starting to wrap up at each

high school but please make sure to support all of the teams in our district who are going to who are going on to play in CIF for more information on specific games please visit each team's respective Instagram account Chino Hills ASB is planning their staff versus seniors basketball game on February 23rd at 6 p.m. so be sure to attend to

support Chino Hills High School leadership applications are open at Chino high school for any interested applicants for for the upcoming school year and the other high schools will have their applications out in the next couple of months um just a reminder that the inaugural teen Advisory Board of Chino Hills has meetings every second Thursday of the month in the city

council chambers at 6:00 so feel free to stop by and attend one of their meetings as negotiations continue I want to express my gratitude for the many impactful Educators that continue to sacrifice time and effort for their students despite the wages that they are being paid every student in this district is grateful for the hard work and consistent dedication that you put

into educating us every day thank you for your hard work and your continued effort thank you thank you next up our comments from employee Representatives we have Brenda Walker from act oh he's no one's in his place okay I don't think so good evening president Shaw superintendent Enfield board members cabinet and District Community we have a good reason to be

here tonight unfortunately it's the same reason year after year after year every group that act represents has a specialized skill A specialized skill set that other districts value and respect more than our district does that's why there are 20 vacancies is that number of vacancies high for a district of our size yes it is is there a particular reason why the

District's number of vacancies is so high yes there is it all boils down to a lack of respect teacher vacancies counselor vacancies nurse vacancies and the two specialized groups that top the list right now special education teachers and speech and language Pathologists the multiple vacancies in special ed are a direct result of the working conditions that specialed

teachers deal with not only do they have to prep their lessons and tailor their lessons to meet the unique needs of their students but they also have to make sure that they file follow compliance rules to keep the district out of trouble has ACT shared ideas about how to attract and retain special ed teachers yes we have act has proposed bargaining

language for special education but we haven't gotten very far nothing has changed and special ed teachers continue to leave our district in droves in 2008 speech and language Pathologists were clamoring to be heard case loads were too high the work workload was more than any speech and language pathologist should have to keep up with so the slps asked for a

competitive wage increase and they asked for better working condition conditions and nothing changed so 12 out of 20 of them walked out the door the district had this Mass Exodus of speech and language pathologist not over time but at the same time the slps took their skills their knowledge and their many years of experience and walked out of

CVUSD because they found districts that Val value them for what they do and let me just tell you slps are at a Breaking Point again and we can't blame them Act is well aware of the fact that the district has Financial Obligations we're not proposing an increase that would put our district in financial distress Act is simply asking that the

district not only recognize our worth but compensate us with the cost of living increase which we know is a reasonable increase act doesn't just pick a number out of the sky when we negotiate we've done our due Dil diligence and looked at The District's numbers but the math is just not mathing districts are required to hold 3% of the overall budget in reserves and

currently CVUSD reserves percentage is in the double digits we have to ask how much is enough to keep in reserves we've heard that deficit spending is a concern but again how much in reserves is enough we've also o heard that the district is saving for a rainy day well it's raining we understand that the job of the school board is to direct District

staff we ask that you direct them to bargain in good faith we have negotiations dates and now starting on Monday and we're anxious to bargain in good faith we hope that the district is to because Applause accolades Kudos and trinkets are nice but those won't help us to pay our bills thank you for your attention good night thank

[Applause] you I didn't see Danny Hernandez from CA is there another Representative no Emily Lao from champ good evening president Shaw School Board board members Dr Enfield cabinet and Chino Valley Community I had a great day at work today and I'd like to share a few highlights I spent the day learning and collaborating with teams of sixth grade teachers who were joined in

support by their principles instructional coaches and District leaders together we were led by mathematical teaching expert Sarah schul our goal being to ensure student learning of mathematics as a child math was always my least favorite subject word problems terrified me and I would learn I would learn the steps to solve problems so that I could pass the

chapter test at the end of the week but by the following week much of it was forgotten I can also vividly remember asking why why do we bring down the next number why does that formula work today with these wonderful teachers and teams we took a deep dive into teaching conceptual understanding application and procedural fluency simply put teaching so that our students

truly understand math it's exciting work and it's great for our students this work has been going on all year and will continue to I know that when things run smoothly it's never by accident I'm certain that our CIS team worked meticulously to make sure that this day along with all the other math days professional development days ran

smoothly lastly I'd like to thank the teams of teachers that I worked with today they are all shining stars thank you we are now on to comments from the audience on items not on the agenda Pat are there any requests to speak 24 on non-agenda items thank you Pat board bylaw 9323 meeting conduct establishes public comment guidelines instructions for

time's almost up thank you Pat Christy Hurst I'm here again to tell you about the harm that the forced outing and book Banning policies written by Karen England of Tennessee and passed here are causing people across this state I I've shared stories before as a liberty Justice Center the law firm funded by the Bradley Foundation objects to me

doing so by claiming I don't have firsthand knowledge of the Karm tonight I'm sharing the story of a trans student who was badly beaten by kids at school whose mother came home to see their kid with the Noose hanging in their closet this child was ready to end their life because of being both targeted by forced outing and bullied

and assaulted in school just a reminder school safety is not mentioned in Project 202's 45-page chapter on improving education the author the authors of this the Heritage Foundation who you were a guest speaker for and take your marching orders from this student who doesn't feel comfortable being identified has moved to Catholic Mexico because they felt safer in Catholic Mexico than in this

California I know this because the mother contacted me I gave her our hotline number 8866 9758 a70 and their kid was able to get some relief and resources from the pain you knowingly caused the First Amendment says there's not a preferred religion in this country the separation of church and state means there's not a privileged religion in

this country either and for the ideologues harming our kids with their Crusades to ignore the consequence is and God I hope I'm wrong is leaving blood on your hands thank you Lance Preston follow Lance Preston followed by Nick Wilson followed by Katherine Gardner good evening my name is Lance Preston I'm the executive director of the rainbow youth project we are a

national nonprofit organization that provides free mental health care and and Suicide Prevention Services to lgbtq all across the country we partnered with our schools USA to establish a crisis hotline that for impacted kids here in California from for styling policies that hotline was started on August 5th 2023 we have received 1,978 calls from across the state 697 of

them from Chino Valley 74% of these students screen positive for depression 82% for anxiety 92% expressed a desire to leave school altogether one student suicidal ideation warranted Emergency Medical Services one student was kicked out of their home these are real stats protecting children means protecting all children irrespective of whether they align with the board's personal or religious

beliefs this board's policies are targeting specific students and ignoring the inherent worthiness of all students your words your actions harm these kids and we are seeing that at our crisis hotline your political aspirations should never be at the expense of any student's Wellness or life we urge you based on the the calls that we're getting to reconsider and stop harming these kids

we are providing Mental Health Services to 2,764 of these kids across 46 States because of policies like this thank you very much Michelle thank you [Music] Nick Nick Wilson followed by Katherine Gardner followed by Bri R good evening board my name is Nick W Wilson uh something is very wrong in our state and in our country and while I

understand and respect that there are many people in this room with differing opinions uh and differing opinions across this state in this country I think one thing we can all agree on is that we are in trouble as a state and Country and the other thing I think we can agree on is that there's nothing more important than our children nothing

we are at a critical point in history uh and this is about what is doing more what is right what is moral what is just I too am getting phone calls I'm getting phone calls because I run a nonprofit organization which is suicide prevention for law enforcement and I am watching firsthand and being sent things firsthand and seeing things with my own

eyes that don't represent the best of our state and our country and it's not just the educational environment it is the public safety environment it is uh medicine it is uh every institution that in the last three years have been absolutely deteriorated because of politics and while I agree with the gentleman that politics shouldn't ever come in between uh making the right

decision one thing I will say is that politics is too important to allow career politicians to be leading it and that's why you guys in front of me have been duly elected to lead and that is what you are do doing under President Shaw's leadership there are people who are demonizing and this comes from someone that used to work

white supremacy organizations as a detective before I medically retired from law enforcement to see people tie politically Sonia Shaw to hate groups uh is morally repugnant I fought white supremacy organizations I have seen with my with my own eyes evil and we're better than this and we Catherine Gardner followed by Bri R followed by Bridget SS hi I am a mom of two public school

kids in La I'm here to here to tell you how the people in my neck of the woods have ties to your board and are affecting us all on January 13th of this year Sona Shaw posed with an admitted Nazi named narv pan at an anti-choice rally in Fontana she refused to apologized saying she will not bend the

knee I first encountered narc poan in June outside sakoi Elementary he was there with 200 angry men wearing leave our kids alone shirts they screamed at me and my fellow PTA moms that we were groomers and pedophiles for supporting all types of families they wanted to hurt someone and they beat a homeless man to the point of unconsciousness narv

stood out because he was the calmest he laughed at people's pain I researched him and I saw his video celebrating the Holocaust and the extermination of Jews he said he's a Nazi it's fair to say he is a Nazi Nazis are bad because they think certain groups of people shouldn't be allowed to exist based on an unchangeable part of themselves like

Jews or the disabled or trans kids and lgbtq kids narc a Nazi is just one problematic member of leave our kids alone a group that collaborates with Sonia manuk Gregorian of LCA um has done live streams with Sonia and brought them to this very room he is a self-described gang member still active retired and he has called for harm to come to

pediatricians who do gender affirming care he likes the way they kill doctors in Russia on a live stream with Sonia am manuk man thought to be named Tom teranova commented that lgbtq people should be hurt with zip ties and box cutters at sadco I heard this same man urge the crowd to ziptie an elementary school principal and hurt the staff he

was later filmed masing LGBT Bri R followed by Bridget a followed by Ashley [Applause] Peters hi there my name is Bri I am a Glendora resident and I am here to ask why Miss Shaw and Mr Cruz felt it appropriate as Chino Valley board members to come to my school district and attempt to push their policies in my district I would

like to know why Mr Cruz came to our school board meeting gave a fa a false name to the board and proceeded to give a long-winded incomprehensible sermon about how trans people are the demise of society I would like to know why Miss sha was there as well she is the president of Chino Valley why are you in

a completely different County trying to harass trans youth it's not enough for you to go after the most vulnerable members of your constituents you have to export your hate to our district and I'm also here to ask what's your what's your next plan I see online that you're going after Dei you're going after ethnic studies you're going to

come after the brown kids and the black kids in Gondor too is that what's next because I'm here to say we stopped you last time you may have the Heritage Foundation you may have CNP you may have millions of dollars behind you in your little Crusade but all it took was a Grassroots movement of a handful of LGBT

people teachers and parents to stop you from pushing your bigoted agenda in our school district and I'm here to say that if if you try to do that again we will stop you once more because we are the Grassroots we are the people and when we are united in the face of hatred and in the face of billions of dollars we will

still always win so please stay out of Glendora focus on your own District thank you thank you Bridget SS Bridget SS followed by Ashley Peterson followed by Darlene Berg sorry I don't like to do this but good evening board I'm here tonight to share something that's been pressing on my heart for quite some time for the past six years I've been one of your

classified employees I've noticed how much this District highly encourages college and and all their schools in fact one of our elementary schools where my son goes there's an awesome mural that shows the journey a student takes from elementary to Junior High to high school and to college I honestly think that's awesome however I wish our schools can encourage trades just as

much as they encourage College because not all our students are College Bound so I'd like to share some info on this um amazing trade school that my son attends it's called ABC SoCal Associated Builders contractors of Southern California they have about 69 chapters throughout the country and it's a it's about three to four and a half year um

program the best part it's free free tuition in fact their motto is earn as you work I believe that's what it is and um it's awesome I I strongly encourage that you all look into it in fact I have reached out to the school and I've asked them if for permission to speak tonight and they are so ecstatic about it they

also invited us to tour the school and one of our amazing principles John Miller is all on board so we will be um going at the end of this um month if any of you would like to go like I said my son attends this school and um he will be graduating this uh from this program in the

fall but he was also already promoted from apprenticeship to foreman and he has full benefits at the end of this year he will be grossing a six-figure income at a 23y old you know so I'd like to ask you all to look into this please time is up thank you Ashley Peters followed by Darlene Berg followed by Kelly

Stewart if there is a single thing everyone in this room can nominally agree upon it's that education should be this board's highest priority I stand here today as a teacher and a parent to beseech this board to consider the wreckage your political circus has wrought in this district and the students it's supposed to serve while you've been preoccupied

with shoving your religious moral and political mandates down the district's throat in the guise of book bands anti-lgb btq plus policies and on the horizon policing subject matter specifically ethnic studies our students are paying the price as a board you continue to model intolerance and hatred which has incubated an environment of bullying and antagonism in our schools my own child

is navigating this unnecessary chaos and how it's affecting the most vulnerable of his peers while you focus on implementing Your Personal Agenda and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees or or teachers are still trying to negotiate a fair contract and routinely get slandered as pedophiles and groomers by their employer this environment has led to a teacher

black gay transgender queer Jewish Muslim and those of all religions those who have been told they can't be who they are allies students and those who have dedicated your time to working with young people I want you all to know that you make this District great in spite of the negativity that has been brought to this District by the majority of the

school board and the disgust and compassion on people's faces when they hear the words Chino Valley School District the students the teachers and those of you that continue to show up and be true to who you are you make this District great do not be discouraged by what you hear from the people on this school board who do not have the best

interest of the students parents or teachers in mind they may be the majority on the board but they are not the majority in this District nor are they the majority out in the real world keep showing up for each other keep supporting our students keep leading with kindness at the end of the day what matters is that you showed genuine

independent photo journalist um Miss sha a few months ago you did a live stream with manuk Gregorian a Loca organizer Loca travels to cities across California bringing chaos and violence on October 25th manuk Gregorian organized the shutdown of a public library in San Fernando and that is now being investigated by the police for civil rights violation and robbery and I

was the robbery victim um in the live stream you did with manuk you said this is you're a quoting I'm quoting you you said to manuk I think it's beautiful that you guys go to all these places cuz I wish all of us would be everywhere all at once but the most beautiful part is you're over here man's over here and I'm

over here but we all share the same Mission what is that mission you don't seem to care that you are harming your community and communities across California I I have experienced being threatened here in these meetings by proud boys there's a man named Adam kefir who told me he knows my grandson's name he said I know his name and he said

the name and then he said oh that sucks right so I have been threatened there's another man who was at these meetings who told me he followed me for two days you have called Tony Thurman and Rob Bon puppets of demons but I'm not sure if you understand and I hope you understand I hope you will learn about

s just this week according to the FBI hate crimes in the US have nearly doubled between 2018 and 2022 with Black's children being the most frequent victims I'm here to talk about President Shaw's recent public comment about the California requirements for high schoolers to take an ethnic studies class in high school as a mother to three black children it saddens me to

see a member of this board publicly state that children um public public LLY state that teaching children quote through the prism of oppressor versus oppressed FS a dangerous climate and that diversity equity and inclusion are gateways to terrible things in reality black children are being called the nword monkey and other slurs daily black children are mocked when learning about

slavery black children as young as kindergarten are being spit at and told they can't sit there because they're black black children are getting pictures of them taken at taken at school eating a banana and Tik toks being made about them calling them their pet monkeys teachers are disproportionately La labeling black boys as emotionally disturbed 14-year-old black boys are being getting

the police called on them for looking like they don't belong when really they're jogging through their neighborhood with their Nike app because how do I know these things are happening because my own children have experienced every single one of them now how is it that a threat of ethnic studies feels more harmful than this how is it that my

kids have to walk out the door every single day and fight to not internalize the daily racism they experience in our own School District but you're worried about your non-black kids being confused about systemic racism I have been trying to engage with Dr Enfield and Miss Shaw about how we can improve this district and train teachers about things like

implicit bias and how to respond appropriately when kids experience it so is it that you don't believe that black kids are suffering in this District or is it that you just don't care thank you thank you Ed Edgar Edgar Edgar followed by Sarah Palmer followed by Bobby Omari good evening prior to the first outing policy and the book band policy

passed by this board majority Chino Valley Unified School District rarely if ever made national news and this was a good thing school board meetings are supposed to be boring School Board elections are meant to be nonpartisan unfortunately because of Sonia Shaw on her backers that is no longer the case in many California boards in the years ahead the Chino

Valley Unified School Board and the consequences of your decisions on public education will be studied as an extreme example of what happens when the school board goes extremist Sonia Shaw's backers have allowed her to poison Chino Valley Unified and are using her to poison District Statewide districts such as glendel Marietta tula and orange to name a few in Just 4 weeks

we intend to show that Sonia and her backer's influence has no hold on our school district Sonia those you endorse will lose you will lose in glandale you will lose in tomacula you will lose in Orange and rest assured that we will support our allies in Chino and help them flip this board come November imagine that thank

you responding to my email and in that email you said that I should do a little bit more questions about the school districts that I was looking at and getting information about to compare cbd2 so I have put together a little brochure for each of you with information that I was able to find I did speak with act and I saw that

schools that we do compare to are Ed Wanda Walnut Ontario Montclair and Corona Norco and as you can see in the first bar graph that I have on here for you is the in pay for all of our teachers from teachers beginning with just a bachelor's teachers beginning with a masters and then our teachers at the end

of their careers and the fact that we are $30,000 behind other districts if you look at the next bar graph I also am showing class sizes and where we Max compared to other districts I also shared that at Walnut and Eda Wanda they offer instructional aids to elementary teachers when they reach certain class sizes for example 24

kindergarteners in a class would mean that they would be able to get an instructional Aid I would also like for you to look at our member benefits we only give $10,000 to all of our teachers whereas other districts is up thank you I hope everything I Bobby Omari followed by S Omari followed by m Bobby Omari followed by S Omari

followed by Misty s good evening Dr Enfield Schoolboard members cabinet and residents it's hard to believe where we are already in February first I would like to recognize that today marks the first day of Black History Month let's celebrate the contributions of black Americans who have better shaped the fabric of our democracy industry culture and Society for example George Washington Carver a

scientist researcher and inventor completely changed agriculture in the US and empowered formerly enslaved Farm Workers to better their lives as he had Isabella bomphrey also known as sjor her truth toward the country after she bought her own bought her freedom to empower women speak out against slavery and in my opinion would be known today as the Modern Day quote fact Checker

where we where she challenged many people's false beliefs about race and gender these are just a couple examples of thousands who made major contributions to this country and paved the way for the Civil Rights Movement women's suffrage movement the disability rights movement and other movements that are happening today that being said let's continue educating and sharing these historic contributions to help

drive us forward to a more per perfect union speaking of Union I support our teachers and encourage the district to engage in good faith negotiations this month our teachers work hard each and every day to support students inside and outside of the classroom School site Council student council school safety committees was committees spring programs and student Sports programs

just to name a few are often unpaid jobs for teachers that extend beyond the classroom but have direct and immediate impact on students and parents this is not even mentioning the effort teachers put in maintaining their classroom paying for their own materials taking work home and adjusting their schedules to make sure students have what they need to succeed once you look at this

holistically it becomes self-evident that teachers are the backbone to a more educated well-rounded safe and informed community that we all benefit from the reality is we rely heavily on teachers to do this work often Follow by Miss s followed by Elder cashley all right good evening last Thursday my husband and I attended the lcap update meeting at chinah Hills High

School we were two of five participants in attendance I was disappointed to learn that of a school with approximately 2700 students I could count the number of parents and community members at the elcat meeting on one hand for a strategy that's rooted in engagement this attendance points to a fail my disappointment didn't stop there understanding the lcap sets out goals at

a district level I was curious as to why a School site administrator was presenting on data they didn't own the disappointment only grew as I asked more clarification on specific data points like why nth graders have a 64% feeling of connectedness to school while it drops to 33% for 11th graders of which the administrator could not answer

having only received one meager virtual training the week before is this the brand that the district personnel and board want to communicate for CVUSD that the district leader leadership fails to provide adequate training to site level Educators a concern that was brought forward by a parent at the meeting expressed concern about limited advanced notice of the meeting and also shared

that the limited Communications parents have received about key education topics I understand that resources are finite but what active steps is this District taking to improve communication about actual topics of concern for educational outcomes considering the limited resources I Look to this board to actually act as fiscal admission stewards for this District you all are busy and I understand that you all are

not technologically savvy and I recognize that but for those of you that choose to act as a board member and keyboard Warrior I ask why you choose not to use your public platform in good faith to carry out your fiscal ad Mission fiduciary duty instead of choosing to share about an opportunity to engage parents at a school site of

which you yourself are a parent at you choose to use your platform to make nasty remarks about multiple community members share a video of you shooting a gun and promote political candidates that have no direct tie to this District you choose to talk about parents rights instead of act on parent engagement going back to branding why is Miss

Shaw's use of the Chino valy name allowed the biggest disappointment I have is the tarnishing time followed by Elder crashley followed by Claudia [Applause] Cruz good evening there's a lot of theatrics going on here tonight a game of how many trigger words can we throw out there seriously give me a break um I think Brenda Walker of Act is a secret gamer

can you pause the time everyone has given each one of the speakers respect and if you want to burst out loud you may escort yourself out and go go yell outside or make your comments it's disrespectful and rude if you don't like it you're more than welcome to leave at that moment thank you I think she's a secret

gamer because she sure likes to play Union games she needs to start telling the teachers the truth the teachers should really be upset with their Union rather than the school board the union is lying to you teachers you're paying your dues and where is it getting you they are manipulating you into playing these ridiculous games of theirs to fit

their narrative in an election year are we forgetting that in 2022 23 the teachers were given an 8.75% raise as a nurse I have never been given more than a one to 2% raise yet here you are a year later asking for more how much are you asking for now how about stop stalling stop cancelling and start negotiating instead

you're going to end up shooting yourself in the foot for not negotiating sooner and screwing all the teachers and students in the meantime our state is in such a deficit that we're not going to be getting any money from the state and if we're not getting any money from the state then how is the district going to

give raises to teachers you need to negotiate and figure this out before you get nothing and before they have to start making Cuts elsewhere teachers you deserve every penny you making more and I know this board agrees why isn't your union fighting for you why are they canceling sessions and waiting to reschedule for so long why aren't they being honest

about the process why do they want you to be so mad at the district I hope you ask the union these questions I support teachers and I support this board Elder crley followed by Claudia Cruz followed by Javier Guzman good evening I'd like to talk about something that's rather mundane but it's this health and safety issue in 2014 a

drinking water at 12 school sits in this District tested above the EPA limit for lead and to its credit the leadership at that time took immediate action and after repairs all 12 schools tested safe my concern is this I've not seen a public update on water quality in a very long time board members Please be aware that Le can be found in newer Taps not

just old ones this is why lead was found in unacceptable levels at Calo in 2013 despite the school being only four years old lead even to small amounts in new pipes as a way of leeching and since lead accumulates in the bones of children and is well known to cause impairment of the central nervous system and brain you must be

vigilant please consider to ab49 ab2 249 which became law in September requires that all School sites meet meet stringent standards for lead five parts per billion I mentioned this because a district contractor in the past used 20 parts per billion of lead as its Benchmark for school safety four times the new limit and over 100 TAPS at our

schools tested positive above that so I have three questions is the district testing all School sites regularly because I don't know could the district provide a detailed public update on water quality what are the district's plans to meet the standards for ab49 I urge you the district to be transparent to make quality reports easily available online and to keep this

with my colleagues to talk about the unrealistic demands of our role as special education teachers in inequitable prep time and large class sizes that are negatively impacting our students at the secondary level special ed teachers are expected to do three different jobs and are only given one 49 to 55 minute prep period these jobs are special ed clerk sa teacher and case

manager the expectations our principles and special ed Department have placed on us are unreasonable when we signed up to be special ed teachers we signed up to educate and support our students to find their strengths and close learning gaps for them to be successful and positive contributors in society we didn't sign up to deal with red tape be paper

pushers and data collectors why are we wasting valuable resources on mundane tasks and not treated as the professionals we are asking us to do clerical work is like asking a doctor to do his own office check-ins take his patients Vital Signs and process their patients information our time at special Educators would be better service served focusing our on students special

education students and case management duties our first job is special ed clerks we schedule reschedule and send reminders of meetings for case loads of up to 2018 students we send and retrieve IEP meeting notices from students we request S Sub coverage for Jena teachers to attend IEP meetings we coordinate Staffing and IEP meetings for cases within specific timelines that involve

12 to 13 participants we scan copy and upload IEP documents to distribute to District parents teachers and Keem files we make referral packets of redundant information that is already in sa our special ed platform we're specialized academic instruction teachers we complete multiple forms and surveys for service providers with over 150 questions jeez I need more time we have seven positions open of

special ed teachers other districts have contract language thank you position [Applause] filled Javier Guzman followed by Byron Gonzalez followed by Lauren and drusa hian hello my name is Xavier Guzman I here today on behalf of my mother Alma Heredia she is a special education teacher at Magnolia Junior High School my mom asked me to speak on behalf of

her because she needs help advocating for herself despite being an advocate for students with disabilities for over 20 years this is what my mother would like to share with you I am a veteran teacher unfortunately I continue to see my colleagues and I sacrif sacrifice our mental health time and time again to meet the demands placed on us without

adequate time to perform these duties I want to tell you about the mental and physical effects that we are currently experiencing as teachers because of the excessive workload we feel overwhelmed hopelessness exhaustion tremendous guilt and panic we work in constant survival mode we continue to sacrifice our personal lives to meet all the needs imposed on us I am on medical leave now

because I am burnt out I have PTSD pan disorder depression difficulty sleeping I survived a heart attack I have IBS caused by the amount of stress I suffer and this list is much longer this district is starting to address our students mental health but you have failed teachers like me a lot of therapy has helped me remember my

worth not long ago I seriously contemplated suicide because of the amount of work stress I continue to experience fortunately I survived that dark day and fortunately for my family and myself she did as well my healing Journey reminded me that I am not replaceable to my family my family needs a healthy mother ultimately I'm asking for a conference period to conduct our

case management duties and a prep period to conduct our teaching duties without change our most vulnerable students and their families will not receive the quality of service they are entitled to receive I hope you hear my mother's words through me thank you Byron Gonzalez followed by Lauren Andrea Follow by Brook TIY hello there president sha Andrew Cruz James naw Jonathan Monroe and

Donald Bridge I'd like to um share thanks to you guys because you guys are protecting our um now when it comes to the students the students rights to being able to um be protected from the government Gavin Nome you know you were the ones that protected them that from the vaccine mandates I also like to uh thank you for actually getting rid of

pornography within our schools when people say that you're getting rid of you you know you're Banning books you're not because when it was actually when parents here brought those books that were banned people were complaining because they're too they were too pornographic to be said here in the school board but they were completely fine with it in the in our school

libraries so I uh support you completely and for the people who complain La about the fact that it's they're having unlivable wages who did they vote for they voted Democrat they're the ones that keep pushing the taxes that increase the housing prices that keep increasing the cost of living so if instead of complaining about the fact that we're not getting paid enough cuz I

work in the district and I live alone and I have no no family helping me out my mom died I never met a father and I don't have any family here I'm living on my own and and if you guys complain about the fact that that the cost of living is too high it's because of the people who you voted for in office like

Jessa hyen and I work as a speech language pathologist in Chino Valley Unified this is my third year in the district and I currently serve as the union representative for the slps which currently includes 31 District slps I am also an Alum of Dono high school and it's always been my dream to work in this district and to raise a family

within this community I am here to talk talk to you about the role of a speech language pathologist and explain why we need Equitable case loads our job as a school-based SLP is to comply with federal and state mandates related to individualized education plan development by providing direct Therapy Services case managing speech only students conducting initial assessments

Plan reviews and eligibility evaluations we write legally defensible reports write progress reports and attend IEP meetings before during and after contract hours we also complete medical billing for every speech therapy session in I we attend so now that you have an overview of our day-to-day duties what if I told you that our CVUSD slps do not have a limit on the number of students

on their case load according to California Ed code the average case load for language speech and hearing specialists in special education local plan areas shall not exceed 55 cases according to the current bargaining agreement there is no contract language to ensure that slps are provided Equitable case loads what this means is that we can have one SL p with 50 I'm

sorry a couple slps with 55 students on their case loads an SLP with 67 students another SLP with 85 students and another with 97 students and that's just what's happening right now in our district these slps are finding themselves asking what duties do I prioritize and what duties do I sacrifice therefore we are urging you today to recognize that we

cannot adequately nor effectively help our special education students if we are expected to do the job of more than one person here is our chance during the current bargaining season we have the opportunity to do something please support your slps by providing a Max on case load size thank you thank you Brook tyranny followed by Kathy Lopez followed by

[Applause] Crystal hi my name is Brook tney and I'm a speech language pathologist with the district um so I'm here to talk about the same topic as Lauren as she brought up that the average case load with an Aela according to Ed code must not exceed 50 5 um many districts within oura have adopted contract language regarding case load Maxes um in 2019

Upland Unified School District um chaffy joint Union High School District altaloma they all adopted contract language for maximum number of um students allowed on a speech language pathologist case load in 2020 kukam monka School District followed suit and these are all just examples within our Salpa and there are countless in other salpas and other districts the number

one question we hear in our um SLP interviews is what do you guys have a Max on your case load in your district and the answer is always no these candidates will accept positions elsewhere where they can have that opportunity ultimately having a Max on case loads will help us recruit and retain slps 72% of our district slps

reported that their essential duties cannot be met during the work day to due to high case load our SLP p s are completing essential portions of their job at home such as writing lengthy reports preparing IEPs and documenting Services the more students on the case load the more duties they are completing at home our students deserve individualized Services the greater the

number on the case load the less we can support them in an individualized way let's put our students first by properly equipping their slps with the time they need to support their students please support your speech language pathologist by implementing a maximum number of students on Cas Lo thank you thank you thank you Kathy Lopez followed by Crystal

followed by the final speaker we Yay good evening School Board cabinet and community members I've been a special ed teacher in over 25 years in the Chino Valley School District currently there is a huge inequity districtwide among SEC secondary specialed teachers that needs to be addressed at Junior High and high schools there are six teaching periods every classroom teacher that includes

special ed teachers have one prep period a non-teaching period during this time teachers plan lessons grade papers update their grade book and other tasks at some secondary sites special ed teachers have a second non-teaching period known as a conference period during this conference period special ed teachers work on IEP paperwork and hold IEP meetings an IEP is an individualized

education program it's about 13 to 30 pages long it's a legal binding document it generated for every special ed student this report details the student services accommodations goals present Les levels of performance each student's I IEP must be updated annually it takes about 3 hours to complete an annual and my colleague um um Claudia went through a lot of the steps there's also another

IEP special ed teachers must do and that is the eligibility re review formerly known as a trianal every three years a student is evaluated to determine if a student continues to qualify this takes even more time about four to 5 hours why longer in addition to all the tasks to update annual IEPs special ed teachers must administer an academic assessment

to the student and it takes about one to two hours the huge inequity is many sites took away the conference period and now special teachers must do all those IEP duties during their prep period it is incredibly stressful and we are losing good special ed teachers who are going to neighboring school districts who not only pay higher wages but have policy

policies and procedures in place to support special ed teachers we need to do better every SEC every secondary special ed teacher districtwide should have two non-teaching periods a prep period and a conference Peri up thank you Crystal Crystal followed by the final speaker we yay all right well first of all I think it's interesting that people come up

here and Bash you guys for going to other districts and speaking when we have a lot of people that come here from other districts and speak all the time so kudos to you guys for speaking up okay but anyways I want to quickly address the negotiations that are being done are supposed to be happening I personally have heard conflicting

information from both sides I've also seen some flyers that been passed out at some of our local schools with information that seems to be false that I would like to have cleared up information that seems to be um lying to parents trying to divide us more as a community um information that the union is trying to get parents to do their

dirty work for them and email you guys um now let me be clear do I think teachers Des deserve a raise absolutely all the stuff they're staying up here I mean it they're heroes in my eyes Okay so yes they deserve a raise but I think there needs to be some trans hery on both sides instead of taking all this

time to email union members make flyers spread false information maybe the union to take that time and actually meet and negotiate some numbers as far as I've heard it's been the union specifically Branda Walker who has cancelled installed meeting with you guys why is that to make you guys look bad to fire up their teachers I thought this could

have and should have already been done so can you guys please be transparent clear the air tell us what's really going on and I hope that everyone that has been up here speaking stays listens and is open-minded to what you guys have to say and start asking questions thank you thank you [Applause] we good evening in September I warned

you about the impact of all the occupancies in our district of unqualified temps filling in as AIDS of too many long-term substitutes filling in for teachers and of all kinds of Staff positions both certificated and classified at school sites through to the district level unfilled or unqualified well surprise surprise it's gotten worse many of those positions remain unfilled or were filled with

unqualified candidates while people continue to leave the district left and right and what have you done since instead of addressing these issues you continue to Tarn the reputation of our district racking up lawsuits and allowing the name of our district to show up in news Publications next to the faces of neo-nazis and you continue to insult your Educators by refusing to pay

us what we deserve since my words don't seem to work let's talk data rubena high school has a greatl looking dashboard wouldn't you say we put up consistently High numbers on all the metrics you and parents care most about AP test scores Casp test scores graduation rate I can go on and on our numbers are the highest

in the area it will be really difficult to maintain numbers like this while we Hemorrhage good teachers and embarrassing for you as a board on campus daily we have been affected by these vacancies as more and more good teachers leave to districts who offer better pay the remaining teachers work desperately in plc's to help fill the holes and twice now we have tried to

hire someone for The English Department only to be turned down because our pay is too low we are getting turned down and let's be honest we aren't exactly picking from the elite at midyear right members of the board do you even know this is happening our esteemed principal has done everything she can do to fearlessly lead us through your

inadequacy it is literally within your power and your job to fix this why don't you tap into some of that money you saved by using your free lawyers to pay your staff both certificated and classified so that CV USD has a salary schedule that is both lucrative and competitive enough to attract [Music] [Applause] we are now on to item 1G changes and

and affordable legal council was stricken with the policy I also noticed that many of the procedures we use to provide affordable and effective Council was struck out during the process while I support the board and many of the changes in regards to being able to collaborate with other districts and organizations I have to ask if we're trying to save money as a district if

we're trying to keep our money either in reserves or for our future contract why are we striking language that makes it cheaper and more affordable for our district irregardless of how you feel about our legal issues that require counsel at this time time also I did notice in the in the document that we strike out yearly Audits and we

put we put gradual or as needed what does that mean does that mean once a month once a year once a generation but after I retire what does that actually mean ambiguity in policy is not a good thing when it comes to spending money with our district last but not least and I apologize for something brightly off

topic I do want to congratulate our CIF wrestling team Mr Hinkle and the rest of the staff for a good um performance winning CIF this week they did an amazing job and I apologize for doing off topic here but I didn't want to take time during public comment to make that statement thank you for your time I hope

the different uh policies uh within the district and then at that time the the board uh recommendation was that we use csba we've been using csba language for probably about the last 25 years uh with some modifications to it so the board's recommendation then was that they wanted to continue to use csba language and then we modify it uh based on our

collective bargaining Agreements are process and procedures that may be contrary to what is in the recommended csba language uh if you go through our board policy you will see 90 High 90% of it is cba's language which uh with some modifications uh if it relates to our collective bargaining agreement or our processes and procedures um so the changes that you

see in front of you that are brought for when it's when you see my name on that coming from uh norfield then it is basically coming from csba um if the board has concerns with the language from csba um in my years here I have not always agreed with the language from csba um that there would be other

Alternatives if the board would want to consider that into the future we could always look at having attorneys uh along with our staff look at uh board policy in the creation of it what happens is about every I think about every four months we get updates from csba regarding uh changes that they have made and then our staff looks at that and

then based on those changes we bring those forward to the board uh to look at to review and to approve or not or to make changes to those um if you look at the amount of money that we spend for csba I believe as a as a superintendent and of working with board policies uh over the last 17 years in this District

that I could probably working with legal counsel provide I believe policies that would align um with this district and be more specific to what we need as a district and probably do that at a at a cheaper rate than what we pay through csba thank you Dr Enfield Mr Cruz yeah you know Dr Enfield last board meeting

it was real odd kind of kind of strange where where I think two two two of these csb issues were were coming in and one was supported and the other one wasn't and um that that was just kind of strange to me but you know Dr Enfield I I agree with I and I also agree with Mr bridge that I'm going

to vote no for this but also not to renew not to renew with the contract with csba because that created a lot of confusion last board meeting and based on the audience a lot of people were it was just really strange so I agree with that not to renew ccsba in November thank you Dr enfeld I also agree age it seems

like csba is causing a lot of division in this community we have some that are our own board members are abom missing us or whatever they want to call it and because we didn't attend an event for various reasons we have people questioning policy I took quite a beating last meeting because they questioned this policy that it was my

intentions and I had nothing to do with it um it just seems like csba language does not align with our district so I would like you to look into when the contract ends I kind of have an idea um but it would be great if you can maybe start working on those Solutions and that way we can present them to the

board I would appreciate that very very much and it looks like a few of us are on the same board is that okay Dr envil yeah awesome thank you Mr now yeah I I also like to have uh Dr Enfield work on our own policy to to save our Calla as our our a teacher from Chino High School said

thank you Mr Bridge go ahead I just like to request a roll call vote on this item absolutely I'm going to just say one comment Dr Enfield you brought this forward I trust you as the superintendent I told you you have my support I know that you wouldn't put the district in anything intentionally harmful so I appreciate you bringing

forward a policy that we're paying a lot of money for revisions on and I know in the Public's eye obviously people disagree but I do not question you on this policy so thank you we'll go ahead and take a roll call vote Mr Bridge no Mr Monroe I'm a no Mr n no Mr Cruz no and I am a yes the

chance to uh stop by last night and catch a couple of the matches what uh impressed me besides the team winning was the size of the crowd uh really well attended and uh and very very noisy and very supportive it was nice to see uh I also attended uh Chino Hills High basketball game versus Eda Wanda and

while they put up a a good uh good fight against Eda Wanda it's easy to see why Eda Wanda is one of the better uh teams in the entire sanino Riverside County and even Southern California area um but it was uh nice to see uh the crowd there as well I also had a chance last week to attend the sanino County

Schools uh Governor's perspective budget uh advisory in rench Cucamonga last week that was very interesting for uh the two hours that I was there as to what's uh what's anticipated coming up over the next year uh I also attended the alternative Education Center graduation celebration uh for 2024 I want to congratulate again the graduates for that evening and also thank thank you to

Dr Preston Carr and the staff for a wonderful program and uh on Monday evening I attended the uh sanino County School boards association meeting out in San Bernardino uh where they honored the six Golden Bell winners from sanino County including our district for the aala high school award um and what they gave to us and I wanted

to present to uh Dr Enfield and the and the board president sha a certificate of recognition that says uh Chino Valley Unified School District csba 2023 Golden Bell award winning program for High School Road Show for outstanding achievement as California school boards Association 2023 Golden Bell Award winner and for your commitment to public education in sanino County was signed by

Mary sanal the Fontana Unified School Board president and also sanino County Schoolboard president so with that congratulations um also had a chance to recognize Dr Enfield and Dr Grace Park for their work on that uh as as well there there is a program and each of the Golden Bell winners were described in there and and mentioned so I wanted to hand that as

well so thank you and um have everyone else have a good evening and uh that concludes that concl cludes my comments before I turn off the mic thank you Mr Bridge Mr n yeah I'd like to thank uh tonight's audience um as you can see that we do our best to provide best education that's possible for our

children in our Chino valy Unified School District and we also pay special attention and appreciate parental involvements in our children's education in at Chino Val Unified and another important thing that that we all can agree is that we have to teach our children to respect our teachers and our staff members and that respect goes long way it starts at home goes to school and

come back home so that not only we would grow excellent students but excellent human being and I think we're doing a great job in that after speaking with many parents and students and another subject matter that people have touched tonight it has to be a safe learning environment as our security personnels our District employees we do our best to make sure

that we have a safe environment for students to learn now when we look at Mr boring and giving it's been already over I think 15 years uh he's a business program at ay high school and he had touched so many youngsters that has grown into to a a private and and public figure uh in business particularly are being very

successful uh really says many things about our school district and I'm getting calls from the students who had already graduate from our school district are attending many universities and their report cards and and I know we're not involved with college students anymore but they would also like to let us know how they're doing because they loved the feelings when they were

attending our school district and it's all due to our District employees especially our teachers who care for them who care for their well-being so thank you I attended uh District science fair uh it was well received and it was a special night too because we have dedicated the competition to uh Buzz family that that she moved on to heaven

but we named that company competition to uh Buzz's family and that was wonderful and I'd like to thank uh Greg stra for helping to remove uh obstacle on when V High School the kids are now safely walking on sidewalks instead of being on Street attending the school and and uh returning to their home so thank you for our

District Personnel is working with the city uh to achieve that again um we going to see many many accomplishments coming year too and especially thanks to our curriculum Department uh under leadership of Dr Park so thank you and thank you for everybody attending tonight uh it's been a great meeting thank you thank you Mr na Mr Cruz Mr Monroe

um first I I think it was Miss Bridget that brought up the apprenticeship thank you for that um I agree with you I I love the trades um I had the opportunity to visit the construction program at Don Lugo that is up specifically addressing one of that that issue um and I can't tell you what a great program that is um all of you that

are interested if you get a chance they're doing a great job over there not only are they learning a a skill but they're putting it to use right on campus so the the girls softball team asked for a school uh um I'm sorry a snack bar and they went and met with the construction teacher and he said that's

great we need a project to work on and we have the materials if if we can get permission we'll build it for them so if you go on Roswell you'll see a new snack bar being built by our own students to serve our district I I can't think of a better way uh to put that that skill and

uh training to work and and at the same time these kids are learning valuable skills that can as you were saying um can really support them down the road for those that that aren't uh College Bound so I do I do support the trades um you know one of the things that's always in these in these meetings is we

get a lot of people pointing fingers at each other and it's always so disappointing up here um sometimes it's difficult to sit to and and U kind of uh reflecting myself and reading um came across a quote that said yesterday I was clever and I wanted to change the world today I'm wise so I'll change myself you know we can't always

uh deal with those around us and how they act but we can control ourselves and how we act and if we all commit to that and controlling ourselves I think we would have a lot nicer meetings and and be able to talk to one another and I think that's important in going forward with these issues so um the other thing I want to

mention as we heard a lot from the teachers um don't think it falls on deaf ears for me I'm always interested in what your working conditions are I find it very interesting um I do hear a lot of information and I purposely don't comment from this uh Das because uh the negotiations have to deal with the teachers uh livelihood and I don't want

to really impact on that but what I do want to say is I know we have some negotiation dates coming up and I would like both sides to just commit to stay in there and grind out this deal I think our teachers and our our students and our parents deserve that I know we're committed to it uh um and you know where

we can provide some stability uh let's do it and I think I think we can hammer out a deal in in these next meetings so um please uh don't get so frustrated it's coming um and uh we'll move on from here so um other than that I do want to thank Dr anfield for providing that information I I I kind of I Echo Sonia's

words and that you do a great job and I know the direction was csba and that was provided by csba and I appreciate you looking outside the box and is there another organization that we can go to and I'm actually looking forward to what the alternatives are for that so thank you for that that's all I've got thank

you Mr minro Dr No Mr Cruz I almost skipped you well that's okay sorry you know uh for the past 12 years I've always supported teachers I I've never undermined them I mean I mean I'm just they're my colleagues I'm an educator just like them so um a lot of times a lot of things are backwards I'm telling

you and um there's apprenticeship that um Bridget mentioned I think this is a great idea I got real excited CU you know when I was younger I could have been a plumber but I never had those opportunities but I know I would have been a good plumber um Miss Miss Lala is that I'm sorry what's what's I apologize your name I

you yeah now you know the plc's are amazing I have you know having the backing of the teachers everyone it is so amazing I I've seen the work visiting the classrooms it is perfect perfect job thank you um you know I I attended um there's AJ 10th grader wrestler at Chino he won CIF at youo and um I attended the graduation as

well I visited country Country Springs Dr anfield I observed and by the way Mr Centura thank you for uh renovating the fun club they're very grateful so that entry gate in also the secondary gate leading to the Country Springs campus was left wide open and I I I saw it was left wide open and I know they have video footage

showing people ENT students entering you know from high school kids playing basketball they have approximately 90 students in there so the safety issue is the risk of children when when unattended you know they they could leave campus you never know of course they're not supposed to be unattended but there's always those moments that you're not paying attention and the

potential for unauthorized individuals to enter the campus including people that shouldn't shouldn't be there and maybe even custodian issues you know to ensure the safety and security of our children we should install a buzzer system on the gate where parents could have access to it and and you know something if if it's under 2,000 I'll put the bill and and so maybe Cent maybe

let's let's find out the quote let's see how much it would cost because I don't think it would cost a lot to put a a system and and I I wouldn't mind putting a bill to to feel to make these parents feel safe for their children in there because it is an open gate to the campus so Dr anfield I don't mind paying for

this so maybe maybe we should check and see get a call and see how much it would cost to place a buzzard on that that on that thing I can look into that yeah because yeah I don't mind doing that I don't mind at all and um and also you know I I do approve CRT and ethic

studies but frankly not this type not this type that is undermining a country you know I want one that is like 1776 that brings our country forward that is what I want and is just the contrary so that is that's what I feel oh also run for us Saturday February 3rd 2024 at a.m start date I just want I do these three four 5Ks

every year so I'll show you my shirt so it's a beautiful shirt so my shirt here so how many of you are going to be doing this oh yeah I do it I do it at least there's three or four of them every year so I just do it I just love it you guys just you should do it you're

so cool okay um I I do want to share something with you which which um it's good to provide information if I could find it on YouTube there was a for there was Deborah Burks she was a former White House Corona virus response coordinator and she was talking about the long covid is similar to HIV like AIDS okay and and and

um and and so and obviously if that's the case then the vaccine probably also gives you long Co too but I just want to read you a co- Spring Harbor laboratory bio rxiv uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019 covid Spike protein to HIV Co a cold it is an exotic cold I'm just telling you this was a bioweapon

people so um that's that's about it thank you thank you Mr Cruz Dr enil yes I want to remind um everybody about the district office I know uh Mr stur group removed that the fence over there and you can see the the uh the new district office that's being built on on Ramona uh just a reminder that the

district office we we bought the district bought property it's probably over 30 years ago over on Yorba right behind that and it was purchased with the intentions of building a district office and the district never had funds to to build that district office and so it sat there for about 30 years we worked on a a deal to lease that land

out in an exchange they would build us a district office and at the time when we entered into that agreement the district office cost more than what we could sell the land for so um it was a really I believe a a good deal for the district because if we sold the land that wouldn't cover the cost of the building

but the lease to that um property they they built the district office and so they're finishing up that project and it should be finished hopefully within a couple of months here but it's just a reminder that the district did not uh put money out but we used a piece of property to leverage that to get the distri office built uh and that land

will eventually come back to the district and so um because I somebody had asked me how much did we we spend on that district office and I just want to remind people um that there was not money put out on that for for the building of that piece of property um also a reminder in February we have the Festival of the Arts coming

up at Magnolia uh junior high it is on Tuesday February 27th from from 6:00 p.m. to 8: uh that night aala dance will perform from 6:30 to 7:00 and Briggs band will perform from 7 to 7:30 and then on Wednesday February 28th the art fair continues and that will be from 5: to 7: and the Magnolia band will perform

from 5:30 to 6 and I would recommend people if they would go out to see that our kids do wonderful work and you'll be really impressed with the the quality of the Arts uh at the at our Festival of the Arts and then last I just want to remind everybody the Julie Goa Memorial hit the greens for Scholarship Golf

Tournament is on Monday March 18th at Los Serranos golf course and if you're interested if you go on our website you'll see it on there and you can sign up to to play that day to support our students with scholarships and again to uh remember Julie Goin who who passed away but who had set up the the golf

tournament from from the day one so thank you for the support in that thank you Dr Feld um Bridget I appreciate this I I've know of I said this before but I sit on the commission um for our district for Roop and to me this is something that's near and dear to my heart because not all students are College Bound and they

don't have you know aspirations to go to a university or um a local uh Community College but I do think it's really important that we start well actually we do a really great job in our Career Centers I've visited them myself so I think it's really important when we get tools like this we can um bring them to

the attention of our um our our students so that way they have more opportuni so I'm looking forward to I know you guys had scheduled a time to go out unfortunately that's a time where Dr enfeld and I are visiting another School site but I would love to get more feedback and then maybe possibly in the future um we can go out there and see it

as well and just learn more so that way we can you know hopefully maybe work something out and get it into our Career Centers and let our students know that there's a great opportunity um I too also attended the alternative Ed graduation it's one of my favorites although they're all my favorite but it's just it's really beautiful because

it's like a really small group and our staff over there does an amazing job of just pouring into the students um so I'm always appreciative when that's my second time being able to join that um I got to go to something really fun if you all know U Miss Beren over at Eagle Glenn she's an amazing principal and she

has amazing APS and staff they had a first Annual Spelling be and it was really exciting to see the students up there the way that they organized it although it was the first time I was really impressed and the students had fun and just seeing the whole school in there they all went into the multi-purpose room which was recently

remodeled so it was really nice to see the lights and the speaker sound um you know working all so great and just to see the kids excitement to see them you know encouraged to see them um just just having a blast to do the spelling be and seeing the that their their fellow um classmates also just cheer them on was

really cool I'm excited that it was their first one but I'm also more excited that there's going to be more and I have a feeling once other school sites because we all know we have great competitive staff they hear about this it's probably going to go to more school sites which is a really cool thing to do

um because you know Arts spelling Sports we like to offer it all and I just think these are fun things that our our staff is doing and I appreciate it um let's see I do have legal fees I know everybody's worried about legal fees but I want to mention something we did pass a parental notification policy and it was only

initiated if a student took an action to want to come and say something out in the public and we we as a board decided we believe that the parents should be notified and we don't get to pick and choose especially when we had a previous policy that kept secrets from parents and when I got in it was very important

to reverse those things because that's not what our community majority is about especially when I went knocking so I find it very interesting that people are saying while we had an injunction really close to the beginning of implementing this policy that all these students were hurt because of the policy that doesn't even exist in the school sit so I really

just think people should be really careful on what information you hear um I will say as far as legal fees I'm embarrassed our state sued us because we want to inform parents you should be pushing back on B and asking why our tax dollars are going towards that we defended ourselves if anybody sues you you get a lawyer and you protect

yourselves that's how the world works unfortunately and we had to protect ourselves but I am very proud of our board for quickly turning into finding another solution so we didn't have to waste our children's school money unlike bont and the political cartel in Sacramento but that's another story um so either way I'm very proud of our our

district for standing firm in making sure that parents are involved because we see how beautiful it is when parents are involved and I also find it interesting they said the parent contacted them so obviously the parent was involved so it's all so confusing on a policy that didn't even exist in in notification because of the injunction from the court so it's really confusing

on the narrative that's being spilled into here but I will say that they actually under estimated the power of parents because the love that a parent has cannot be bought political operatives eh they don't even match against a parent because I mean I'm proof of it you come after me which is fine I'm a big girl I can take the

beating cuz you know what's really important if our children are protected I'll take take it all day long I see it on the media they talk about a Playbook and I find this very interesting because the Playbook that they say we have is exactly what they're doing they talk about how you know um you have these people that are controlled by political

operatives and you're you you go on to all these big think tanks and you're passing these policies but yet here we are just trying to bring the parents back if there was no plan or agenda to take and break up families we wouldn't be here I wouldn't be here I would had no desire didn't even know what a school

board was so I I do think that that is very funny but in a recent video that was shared with me one of the leaders of a local group that continues to post nasty hateful comments about me said something very interesting they attack the person that's affected effective so I just have to question is it because you're so concerned that it we've been

effective and bringing back parents pushing back on the state I don't know I asked myself that and it looks like your playbook is something we're beating you at but the love of our children will continue to unite families I find it actually interesting too that a lot of people come from other districts but they're so concerned about

Cruz and I going as people to another board meeting because their Community is crying out for help because they want parents involved but hey fair is fair we welcome you here but anyways their tactics have only brought thousands and thousands together and we're going to be brought more and more throughout the nation until the political cartel backs down I just say

buckle up we're just going to get stronger with that said I think it's funny because I sit here and I respect each one of you while you talk and clearly you're triggered by me because I just want to inform parents but the that's okay keep coming keep doing what you're going to do because the more that you expose your agenda and your

narrative to break up families and hurt our kids and take them away from their parents the more and more people are going to be aware by the actions so Bor I am proud of each and every one of you no matter how much they try to divide us we have worked amazingly together on the bigger picture Dr anfield as a parent I

would say this over and over again I had no clue what happens behind the scenes but I appreciate everything you do you know I have your full support and I and I trust you completely and I completely trust your staff and it's an amazing feeling to be a parent to see that where my family decided to raise a family

because I was born and raised in Chino it's somewhere where I'm willing to stay here and fight so thank you for everything you're doing thank you Mr Monroe thank you Mr Bridge thank you Mr Cruz thank you Mr naw Pat I know you get beat up but you're a darn good secretary and I am praying to God you give us a

couple more years before you retire because our district will suffer without you um but with that said I am grateful we're being brought together I'm grateful people are being exposed because I always said they're going to be revealed exposed and removed with that said I now adjourn the regular Board of meeting at 8:05
