Board of Education — March 21, 2024
all you say why wouldn't you say that and they know know end 45 why isn't the rest of people in here I now reconvene the regular meeting of the board of education at 6 PM with Bridge Cruz Monroe Na and Shaw present before we begin please silence all electronic devices and note that these proceedings are being Rec
recorded the board met in closed session from 4:50 p.m. to 5:47 p.m. regarding conference with legal counsel existing litigation two G two cases student discipline matter conference with Labor negotiators Act and CCA Public Employee discipline dismissal release and public employee performance evaluation for a superintendent the board voted to accept the resignation resignation agreement and release between the district and
classified employee number 25604 persuant to the terms of the agreement with the employee voluntary resigned effective March 15 2024 with a vote of 5 to zer with Bridge Cruz and Monroe Na and Shaw voting yes no further action was taken which requires public disclosure tonight's Pledge of Allegiance is led by Mr na Let's Play Hands over our
hearts I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for confusing our first presentation is from um something that's near and dear to my heart I serve on uh our commissioner our commission for the Bal view Roop program
and I would like to welcome Dr Shelley [Applause] Adams good evening board members Dr infield U members of cabinet and all of our guests who are here it is my pleasure to be here on behalf of Bal viw rlp and the partnership that we have had for more than 50 years uh tonight I'm going to introduce for some and uh
remind for others and just share with you uh some of the um opportunities that our partnership has enabled students for not only the last 50 years but in particular this last last year um and I think we'll first start with what is baly view Roop so um in terms of we are the regional occupational program we are
part of a partnership with Chino Valley chaffy joint Union High School District Claremont and Upland since 1972 in Partnership providing Career Technical education we have programs on Chino Valley high school campuses and your Alternative High School as well as programs at the Career Training Center and as part of the joint Powers agreement and partnership that we have
among the four school districts where programs are offered uh on those High School Districts after school your students may also participate and that's been in place now as I said this is the 52nd year that we've had this formal partnership and relationship uh Bal view Roop is privileged to serve more than 1,400 Chino Valley Unified students each year
we have programs that are embedded on your campuses which means we are part of your regular school day as well as offering opportunities after school we are the umbrella for all students to access careers and I think we can all agree that whatever our students paths are we are here to make sure that they are employable and they are ready to
take their place hopefully replacing all of us I would like to retire one day and so we also want to make sure that they are in a position for Meaningful mortgage paying employment for career trajectories for careers of now and careers in the future and uh it is our privilege that when we um decide in partnership with you what those pathways
are going to be those pathways are done through Labor Market looking at employment trends talking to business and industry so I'm going to take you through just a few of these uh areas and uh a short presentation and um talk to you about how we are of benefit to your students and this partnership first one is regarding the
dashboard um as we know for students we want students to leave and graduate from chaino Valley Unified School District prepared and we want them prepared for career as well as college and how Bal vop is able to help with that as students complete Career Technical education pathway we are able to help in three areas and those areas that are circled there
students have a variety of different ways in order to show that they're prepared but for the career Readiness indicator career Readiness is a big part of that and although they can also show academically they really need to also be able to show through their work-based learning opportunities their essential skills and the completion of CTE Pathways that they are ready for careers
and the opportunities that we offer in those career Pathways include offering UC CSU approved coursework so when your students are taking a CTE class through baly viw Roop they are also receiving their UC CSU credits uh they are also able to earn college credits for where we have articulations and they are also uh able to earn certifications a pathway is defined as a
sequence of courses is that students are able to complete with Mastery usually in 2 years if it's embedded or 20 credits or at least 300 hours taking a concentrator and or Capstone all those different mechanisms are extremely are a lot provide a lot of options so if you are student taking an embedded CTE pathway at aino Valley
campus you will take that particular CTE pathway for 2 years in order to be a completer and you must take it within the same pathway so for example if you decide to take cyber security you will take cyber security and you will take cyber security level two in order to be able to be a completer you have to take
a year one and year two if you are taking an after school class after school classes oftentimes have more hours during the daytime you're limited usually to a period and after school many of our classes are offered in two and three hour blocks per day so you may get as many as 10 hours per week or 20
hours per week and therefore you might be able to complete a pathway within a year or in some cases a semester if you're coming to the Career Training Center depending on the program these are a list of the bvop pathways that are at Chino Valley sites embedded and this is an example of the different programs that we have at at
the Career Training Center in Ontario where you have students uh currently we have a group of Buena Vista High School students that are best on a daily basis to take the transport and Supply class at the Career Training Center and other students access the center after school uh and I have a short video to show you some of the students in
action [Music] [Applause] oh so as you see we have a variety of opportunities for students uh to take advantage of and we are it is our privilege to continue to be in service to them um as you saw in terms of as you saw the slides you would have seen a designation for each one of those programs that indicated UC or CSU and
the next to it this is an example of those approved courses so this is the list we have courses that are approved for mathematics for dap science credit as well as for Fine Arts and electives and all of these courses can be used to meet UC CSU um approval as their applying for colleges and so these classes when
taking these classes that this is part of their uh career Tri their academic trajectory as they're looking to make themselves most most attractive for applying for colleges industry certifications is a big part of what we do as well we are work-based learning opportunities and so uh wherever possible in any career pathway that we uh have the opportunity
we look and when looking and working with our business and industry Partners through our occupational advisories we determine what industry certifications are most needed and what industry certifications given the time that we can offer to get students that step that one step that competitive step to make them most employable when they leave our programs and so so many of our programs
do have industry certifications in healthcare often times CPR our basic life support our pharmacy tech program has a pharmacy technician certification board exam we help students all the way through that process including lure as well for them the registered dental assistant has six industry certifications um that makes them very eligible for employment in dental offices um we do sear training with our
public skills pathway students OSHA 10 with our construction technology students I'm happy to say that our Construction techn technology has become a pre-apprenticeship program and so uh we will be then connecting those students who are Pathway completers to paid intern uh paid apprenticeships through the then the community colleges um as we mentioned we have several relationships with the local
community colleges there students who are taking a course that's articulated are able to earn college credits um we are in the classrooms telling them about this for the beginning there is uh testing that they need to do they have to make sure they have Master of the competencies but students who successfully complete the the class usually with a b or better as well as
take the exam do earn college credits that can appear on their college on their transcripts as they're applying for college I just wanted to give you highlights on a couple of events that we have coming up and the next one is going to be our April 15th annual Student Success award ceremony we hope we see uh our board members there as well as Dr
infield if your schedules allow uh at that time we will be honoring about 200 uh students from our for districts who have been nominated by their instructors as our um uh most honory we uh we have honoraries for all of our students but these are the ones that are the uh top of the class whether that means that
they've shown um the best teamwork that they have been of greatest assistance they've shown leadership skills of variety of of things go into that nomination and we're happy to support them and honor them we also will be awarding student scholarships at that time last year we awarded an excess of $20,000 in student scholarships and we're looking forward to doing that
again this year and lastly we just wanted to let you know that at our training Center we also have a Wellness Center that's Prov providing for opportunities for students um that are coming after school um students if they're coming to our Career Training Center they're coming after school from 4:30 to 9:30 often times so there is a meal that's available for
them through a partnership with Ontario Montclair School District so that they are able to eat uh because we know of course when you have a full belly that means that you are going to be able to learn better um and uh we have a corner closet a dress closet where students can come and pick up outfits for dressing
for success and a variety of other uh Wellness activities and opportunities and resources for students and I thank you very much for the opportunity to present thank you Dr Adam any comments or questions from the board go ahead Mr Bridge well Dr Adams thank you very much for that uh presentation and I just wanted to uh comment on the terrific
open house that uh you had the the main what I call called the main campus over in Ontario it's really enjoyable I would I would recommend to anyone who has a student that's interested in the rmp program to the next I know the next open house is probably next next winter but to make sure that they uh attend it was
a lot of displays a lot of information uh I was so impressed with it so I just wanted to thank you for that thank you thank you Mr go ahead Mr no you go first oh go ahead Mr Cruz you know a lot of thought got a lot of thought into the career because we know that AI is taking over
so you really have to put a lot of a lot of this is like hands- on far from what AI would be able to do at the moment so I'm really excited to see this and also you know I I know I know maybe in the future you know students a couple students have mentioned Mortuary sence maybe someday in the future to have a
certificate in that thank you thank you Mr Cruz Mr KN yeah bless your heart it's been more than 10 years so go and you look the same so thank you but I'd like to thank uh truly uh your teachers um you guys really helped thousands of our students to grow and become a a head of family uh without
your program um many of them would be lost in the system so thank you for giving them another chance and opening doors for them many of them have gone into a professional fields and also colleges and really appreciate um again all your hard work and and teachers um and I I remember uh uh clearly how the serious the students
were uh learning and and there excitements about becoming a full adults in the field After High School so thank you so much thank you bless your heart thank you anybody else I just want to say thank you and the staff too I enjoy um serving on the commission and I appreciate all that you guys do I'm glad

I'm excited to welcome two of our spectacular teachers who earned an award from the California Association of directors of activities um cada Mrs Selena Collins and Miss Valerie Vera man maner um before I have you join me on at the podium I would like to say a couple of things Miss Collins is a teacher at Briggs K through 8 and she received the
area e service award for her outstanding service and overall contributions to cada Miss Vera maner is a teacher at Canyon Hills junior high school and she received the Warren scha Middle School award for her outstanding contributions and working with the student leaders um please I I'll have you join me at the podium and then I'll have you guys share
a little bit about um the awards and your valuable contributions that you have um distributed to our our students and our and our staffs [Applause] hello I have to tell you that um I want to start by saying that I was reluctant to come tonight to be recognized at this board meeting and for those of you that don't know we're
sisters so our parents are sitting next to us and our family so our parents had to deal with very strong willed children daughters um so um this is for them so this year has been strenuous with the disrespect educators are receiving from our own School Board as a 32-year season teacher in this District district I have witnessed many years of Schoolboard
Antics but this year has reached an all-time low I want it to be noted that I'm here for my sister my parents my husband my son my fellow Briggs Educators my admin team principal Moore and AP nerio they encouraged me to come because I really didn't want to um the Kata Foundation is an organization that provides professional development for
activities directors School climate and culture directors pair of professionals who serve ASB and school and District administrators throughout the US in Canada and their pillars of this organization are as follows to listen to the quiet as well as the outspoken to treat every voice with value to acknowledge others lived experiences as their truth to understand and appreciate
different cultures backgrounds and identities to seek common ground to be open to new ideas so we can grow together and not apart to hear one another for the purpose of understanding not simply responding to agree to disagree without being disagreeable and to engage inour rageous conversations when needed and to make room for everyone at our table it was uh my honor to be
recognized by Kata for my efforts in presenting information at both the state and area conferences for providing positive leadership on my campus and in our Kata community and for continually serving as a mentor to others in the Kata Community as well as most recently to our new ASB leadership adviser at Briggs I will continue to serve my
school and the C organization in a mentor role and I will continue to strive for a positive School Community where all students are educated and supported at this time I would like my family and friends to please step forward for a group picture with me I appreciate all of their support and encouragement throughout the years and thank you for this opportunity to
more oh them is that okay is that thank you thank you okay thanks hi um Canyon Hills has been my home away from home for the past 32 years where I've taught world history and in the past 21 years I've gladly served as the Renaissance adviser professionally I have served on the Kata area e Council and on the Care Council for Renaissance
Educators I love to help others grow and I've spoken at various conferences at the local state and National level um on March on March 9th uh the California activities Directors Association honored me with the Warren SCH award and um just like Miss Shaw had explained you know it was a great opportunity and great um recognition to be the only Middle School
educator to receive this award for outstanding contributions with with student leaders um I've have a passion to build culture and climate and to create a positive um place where kids want to be and as a lifelong learner I've love to read books and so part of my journey has to has been to read again um books on culture climate leadership
and the importance of relationships with students staff and Community I've recently read a book um entitled great 50 great things that leaders do by Dr Frank ruesi and I've actually purchased a copy for all of you on the board um and I hope that you'll enjoy this inspirational book Chloe I'm giving you one of my favorites which is Seven
Habits of Highly Effective teens by Sean cvy I don't know if you've read it yet um I want to be aware that our leadership has power in influencing how employees feel within the district and the current culture and climate influences how we feel when we go to work on a daily basis as Leaders there is responsibility to the people we work
with to foster a positive environment uh where we all feel valued and respected and welcomed as Educators we want our schools to be a place where students in staffulty want to be and it is my hope that the district would want these same values to invest in wanting to be a place where CVUSD employees want to be
so when we know better we can do better thank you one more thing I also share this award with my family and my friends um for all their love and support and I would also like to have U my family and friends please come forward to take a photo of this moment thank you so here thank [Applause]

uh I I too want to add uh I this is what I've been advocating since my time on on the board and and even before when I was uh uh teacher in this District the opportunities that we have for our students is tremendous whether it's whether it's career whether it's College whether r that we heard earlier from Dr
Adams tonight there are so many opportunities that thrilled this and this is what we should continue to be focusing on uh as we go forth not only this year but the future in this District so thank you very much and I I do want to had the music program mention marks later I had a chance to sit in on
one I wish I could started on thank you thank you so much Mr n yes uh I'd like to thank um our curriculum uh program um Department here and I'd like to remind all of us how important is our career pathway program uh the today's trend is changing so fast like myself all these you know the odies are being replaced uh very
quickly to a younger generation of employment and many of large corporations are moving into that direction so you will see that um so many opportunities for our youth who has taken career pathway programs because uh corporations large corporations are ready to hire all those youngsters U because the sector is growing and and changing and so I think it's a perfect
timing that uh what you're doing with our our our students are preparing them for their careers at the same time the college preparedness um and that's that's that's what the top school districts do so thank you for our curriculum mindset uh leadership here because um right now everyone's mind uh even our teachers outside it's the economy so thank you thank you for
supporting our future students thank you thank you this oh I was just cutting out um mint sorry [Music] guys the microphone is like super sensitive in here leave that one there in row what is doing it didn't look appropriate Dr Enfield you're so silly that was loud huh I could mean oh [Music] you guys do me a favor move all the way

students and and for our community thank you all thank Ry good evening president Shaw school board members superintendent Enfield cabinet staff and Community thank you for allowing me to speak um the presentation from Roop all of you um I actually went to went through their program seems like a lifetime ago but I did graduate or get a certificate of
completion from art with graphic reproduction um which is interesting to see some of the slides um last week the district sent a few classified members to the par professional conference um in Ontario at the Ontario Convention Center it was March 12th 13th and 14th classes ran through the 3-day event with classes subject enhancing prompt strategies in autism cyber security conflict and
communication enhancing Pro prompt strategies in autism intervention invisible in invisible injury and staying positive in a negative World hearing from those that attended they are excited to share what they've learned with their co-workers and wanted to extend their appreciation for being able to attend recently quite a bit of Staff members have reached out to me to from
what they hear or from what they see here at the board meetings on social media or rumors about negotiations acct and CCA want to get our contract completed but we want a fair proposal to bring to our membership while being cautiously optimistic I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of School site funding or how the state completely funds
us I started working here in 2001 not knowing how public education funding works the state was looking at a budgetary deficit and my position was scheduled to be laid off in 2003 the uncertainty of that time was difficult but my position was spared fast forward to 2007-9 also known as the Great Recession many people may remember it in 2007 and 8 again my position was
scheduled to be cut both times it was thankfully avoided in 2009 my position was reduced down to 11 months it was a diff again a difficult time to deal with the state again is looking at budgetary shortfalls the economy isn't that great and inflation is rising while I wish none of these things are happening but they are
again having been on the receiving end of those notifications of my position it's a hard pill to swallow something I hope no no one will ever have to go through though I remain C cautiously optimistic lastly some very negative things have been said recently about unions un unions are by no means perfect as a chapter president I can say that I
don't completely agree with my union stance or who it supports nor do I agree with everything that is in our contract which I help negotiate though unions are much like families we disagree we are arue we stop talking to each other at times but much like a family if you mess with one of us you do mess with all of us being part of
a union isn't about me it's about us thank you Emily LA from [Applause] champ good evening president Shaw school board members Dr Enfield cabinet and Chino Valley Community I'd like to celebrate the elementary school choir members who have been showcasing their talents over the past couple of weeks our remarkable choirs have serenad their families and friends with Melodies that paint a vivid
picture of the Four Seasons these students captured our hearts and entertain us and entertained us all we all know success doesn't happen without hard work so I'd like to thank our students for the passion they brought to their performances and I applaud our fabulous music teachers who taught our students very well our students sang songs about having fun building snowmen
in the winter about the beautiful colors of fall and the joys of Springtime speaking of Springtime spring break is just around the corner champ wishes every everybody a happy and Refreshing Spring break thank you thank you so [Applause] much we are now at comments from the audience on items not on the agenda are there any items to speak yes 43

down to one minute per speaker um Dr Enfield will be keeping the time when you have 10 seconds left he'll be raising his hand to let you know you have 10 seconds first is Elia followed by Tony monz followed by Amanda I want to start by asking everyone to recall all the teachers who have helped you how has a teacher gone above and
beyond for you and your education for me that has been every teacher I've had in CV USD all the teachers in this District work tirelessly to do their best and to keep students safe despite their wages I strongly believe that CVUSD needs to come to a fair bargain the unpaid kindness of teachers has supported students in the most
resourceful ways possible however with without this extra help students similar to me have struggled with their classes for example many teachers stay after school or open their classrooms during lunch to help and Aid their students we students need the support of the district and teachers I have witnessed firsthand my mother a teacher in this District volunteer endlessly for her
students while making a positive impact I also strongly believe that the unnecessary subjects brought up during these Schoolboard meetings take away from the focus the students seeing the horrible examples displayed during board meetings and social media by the board such as calling teachers groomers is sickening think of all those teachers who have shaped the person need next Tony mon Amanda swier followed
by Kelsey Robertson I'm reading this on behalf of an mtssb intervention counselor who wishes to remain in atin Anonymous I have worked at Mt as an mtssb intervention counselor for a few years and I'm on a temporary contract without the opportunity to become a tenur employee like many of the teachers and staff members I work with I find it very
rewarding to work with students in order to provide them with the guidance tools and skills needed to help our students reach their fullest potential being a temporary contract employee makes it difficult for many of us to feel secure and and valued in our current position so many of us continue to look for more stable opportunities elsewhere being an
educator and counselor can be challenging in many ways but I enjoy the work that I do for our students families and staff each day at Chino Valley Unified it is my hope and goal to become a tenured employee and continue to work for this district for many years to come without worrying each year about my job and Financial Security I thank you for
your time next Amanda Swagger followed by Robertson followed by Darlene Berg good evening board cabinet a few days ago I was alerted to a photo on social media to my appalled I noticed some individuals calling the teachers presenting chomos child molesters and sexual predators I'm all for freedom of speech but Bradshaw versus Ohio in 1969 put limits on that Free Speech part of
that free speech is derogatory they're not allowed to do that I would encourage the board to stand up and take action against individuals who defame our district our teachers and our community with signs of that nature you have control you can control what happens at the meeting so please do bring respect to our teachers our staff and our
community members as we go here I love being a part of the district but I hate when people talk negative about our district for these actions and finally 17 years 2341 students served plus 280 in another District thank you for your time next Kelsey Robertson followed by Darlene BD followed by Mike cargy hi saw you were chatting with meta
and I wanted to explain some things to you you want to know why your name shows up in searches as a child sexual abuser because for years you've been saying the word groomer you talk about keeping secets from parents you call those same parents pedophiles you talk a lot about kids and you're concerned with which bathrooms they're using you're obsessed
with children's genitals and how they should live their lives based on those genitals when you talk about this over and over it's all the algorithm hears of course searching your name would come up with and I quote we think your search might be associated with SE child sexual abuse so just in case you're confused know that the search history is a
byproduct of your constant messaging and all the things you have said next darling Berg followed by Mark car followed by Edgar good evening my name is Darlene Berg I'm a parent in this District uh what we all want to do here is coexist in peace I can't imagine that you Sonia want to fight with people and go back
and forth on social media can't imagine that you guys up there pride yourself on holding a position of power and using it to hold wages over teachers heads or discriminate against groups of people people I I can't imagine that this is how any of you envision your service to the Chino Valley School District to the teachers students and parents of this
District not your District our district as an inclusive all at the last meeting all of you are allow you all allowed a sign to be held up that said groomers with an arrow being pulled out to point at speakers who were lgbtqia Plus or in support of that's so many things I wanted to address about this but instead
I'm going to leave you with this love is not jealous boastful PR proud or rude and whether you believe in God Jesus Allah Buddha your higher being will make your final judgment nothing I can say will even touch that thank you next Mike cargy followed by Edgar followed by Art Gomez good evening board I am Mike cargy
Congressional candidate for this area I'm here in response to the vicious and disgusting attempt by Mark Zuckerberg and his meta Mafia to publicly assassin the name and character of Sonia Shaw and Nick Wilson and I am equally outraged by the lack of interest in this by the communist Southern California news group and the failing Daily Bulletin You can
disagree with Nick and Sonia that's your right that's fine but what you cannot do is support an effort like this by an alien like Tech oligarch to unilaterally Define what child sexual abuse is and then attempt to stick that tortured label on folks like Nick and Sonia especially when his own company is enabling pedophile predators and has
done so for years I call on every elected official to and every Union Leader to condemn this attempt by a tech billionaire to intimidate and ultimately silence those he disagrees with God bless you all next Edgar followed by AR Gomez followed by Maria hi I'm Edgar Alvarez I'm here representing Luca Latinos United for conservative action and we're here to
stand in support of son sha and all the all of you on the board members that are protecting our children you guys are doing the right thing we know a lot of things are being said to defame a lot of you but we honor you and we support that you guys stand strong and stand firm to defend the children to defend their
innocence to defend their safety here in their schools there's a lot of people that might think that different lifestyles are okay and need to be accepted and that's okay within the confine of their own homes but not in public places where children are being put in danger and jeopardized because of an ideology that we don't condone um and
to response of people that say that yes there are going to be helter Creator and there's only one Creator and that is Jesus Christ and we that he is our judge and every single one of us in this room not just the board members will give an account to that Creator so please live your life that way knowing that you will
be judged by Jesus Christ next art Gomez followed by Maria CIO followed by Oscar ailla um I just want to clarify uh I think there's two cards with name Edgar could you please read the previous card again cuz I think that was mine it says Edgar on the non-agenda item and it doesn't have a last name could you read the um I I think that was
my card um it the subject was actually 2024 School Board elections can I speak is that not his card that is not his card okay so is there another Edgar there is another Edgar there it's later on in the cards and the pre card later okay so your card's not up yet he's number one okay my name is AR Gomez and my wife and
I are lifelong residents of this District we have three kids that have graduated from this district one child is about to graduate I've had nieces nephews and that are in the district and have graduated from this district and I we want to thank you guys for standing up for the protection of our children for standing up for parental rights if
being a Christian Nationalist and extremist means is a definition of me standing for the protection of parental rights and for my kids then I guess that's what I'll be called but again we want to thank you guys we support you guys know that you're in our prayers each and every single day and again thank you all next Maria CIO followed by Oscar
ailla followed by Misty hello I'm here to thank the board for the bravery and thick skin to stand every meeting and listen to all these non student issues that the ACT is attacking you for even when your transparency has been extremely open to them and to the public last board meeting I determined that the ACT are the clowns that this that they bring up
from the circus they always bring up that their shows and protests are wasting taxpayers time and their money for the last communication from the state mediator y'all could have met on the 14 and the ACT rejected that coming back that they want to meet on the 16th I asked a lot of teachers out there and they said they
got this email but obviously they're not reading it so I'll tell you because I'm not I'm you know in my opinion no amount of learning matters to fulfill their duties as a teacher and investing in the Next Generation so they can become better members of the next Oscar Aila followed by Misty s followed by Lisa wit good evening board um I wanted to
bring something up I know there's a lot of uh there a lot of uh uh liberal te talking about people call groomers and stuff and um let me read what groomers is to make someone ready for specific objective to build a trust relationship with a minor in order to exploit them especially for not sex or something else
so the reason why we would say that is if any parent wants to keep secrets from uh I mean any want to keep from parents that consider a groomer it's a violation uh there's no reason why anybody any District any any state Any teacher would to keep secrets from parents I mean I I don't see any kind of a positive role
model there so I would say I mean you're probably nefarious you know so um so if you think you're a groomer and the S was never put for teachers it was put for those that we know are advocating for Parental against parental uh rights so there's another person on the back a teacher and it says recall Shaw shut her
jaw are they advocating for violence are they being violent toward sha shut her jaw what does that mean time is up next Misty s followed by Lisa Whit followed by Crystal good evening I would just like to say that after the last board meeting I am really grateful that my kids have had and currently have kind intelligent
hardworking respectful teachers their teachers would never get up at a board meeting and speak like they did at the previous meeting I don't care how much you dislike or hate a person the vile evil things that were spoken by a handful of teachers was shocking and disappointing I was appalled and you think that's going to help anyone take you seriously this is
absolutely the wrong way to go about trying to get a raise no one is saying that they are not grateful for all that the teachers do and that they don't deserve more but tonight I'm here to say that the behavior needs to change you don't deserve this Sonia and I hope that we can do better thank you next Lisa wit followed by Crystal
followed by Christy vuna good evening I I'm a teacher for CVUSD last time we heard that we get funded differently than other districts that might be true but that does not mean the money isn't there for me it's about broken trust you sat on the reserves the cola is shrouded in mystery we already know about better compensation elsewhere the job has to be
attractive and competitive but people who seem to be in control of the purse strings seem to be okay with vacancies substitutes and non-compliance is the district's negotiating team truly invested in your children our students our families the Community Education I am invested some of them go home at 5: some of them clock out at 5: in the words of Jacob Marley
former business partner of Ebenezer Scrooge mankind was my business these people are mankind these people people are your business why such miserliness thank you next Crystal followed by christe bakuna followed by Sha s u recently I had a conversation where a teacher expressed frustration to me over a negotiation outcome saying that Sonia was the reason behind this
seemingly unfair offer however after researching into the matter I discovered that negotiations follow a simple pattern of give and take until both parties um come to a common ground interestingly enough Sonia Shaw isn't even directly involved in these negotiations like the teacher insinuated it's a team with Leah fellows Joe Durkin Jamie Ortega Whitney Fields Melissa Martinez Jane Sosa and Barbara Bearden
and also a recent negotiation offer of 7.37 and ,000 for health benefits was rejected by Kelly the union VP after Consulting with the Ia reps this rais questions about who really holds a wayway in this negotiation process and were other High School reps consulted as well looking ahead with California facing Financial challenges and District layoffs looming there's a possibility
that a mediator may suggest a lower offer in such a scenario who's going to be blamed will it be the union the Ia reps or you Sonia time is up next christe bakuna followed by Shan s followed by Richard hello board um so teachers are actually PID $10,000 or $30,000 less than surrounding districts and um as a person
with a close family member who is a teacher they work extremely extremely hard this family member she she works at least 5 to 6 hours longer than the school day requires her to just so her students have a great education and not paying them the wages of the surrounding districts because you don't need to and you don't want to or negotiating for it
actually is because you guys don't I know you guys don't decide the pay but you guys can absolutely advocate for teacher pay it is not that hard you can say we have great teachers in this district and we would love them to get paid more and you don't instead you call them groomers and pedophiles when they aren't as a former cvsd student I have
never been groomed nor met a pedophile in the district unfortunately so good yeah next Sean s followed by Richard W followed by mariso Deo good evening president Shaw board members superintendent Enfield cabinet distinguished guest um I was looking at the negotiations happening here and as a taxpayer when I'm seeing um 6.25 and increased pay pretty reasonable from my
perspective um then I hear the other things about the other districts things like that it seems like the negotiation tactics could be broken up because when I was looking at the minutes it seemed like there was it's almost like a porkbelly bill with a bunch of other stuff bundled into it it seems like the teachers are upset about one particular
line item if we could break that up into separate line items and negotiate on that that seems like it would might be a a better tactic going forward forward um that way it's easier to comprehend it would also be nice to have uh more transparency on these negotiations um that way we could all see maybe record them and offer them to
the public so that we can we as the taxpayers can see that but thank you for your time next Richard W followed by marel D followed by Daniel I've had a lot of teachers contact me the last couple weeks Union made a last ditch attempt before mediation kicks in and we saw the announcement from the district how that played out so the
union dropped down 1% District offered 7% .3 plus incidentals so regardless of where you work it's about as good as it gets so teachers are talking one thing they told me was that when the 7.3% or whatever was offered that Kelly lonard contacted six teachers at aala the six teachers at aala said tank it he contacted the
district and according to them he tanked it so I'd like to know why are six teachers at aala so powerful that they can contain the negotiations they tanked it now these teachers that I talk to and I'm sure there's more time is up okay next maroo followed by Daniel MOA followed by Ashley Peters good evening Chino Community I
would first like to start off by thanking the district for the amazing restorative practice training our mtssb councilors received we focused on resolving conflict repairing harm healing relationships in order to develop a deeper sense of community in our classrooms and in our schools as I sat there I couldn't help but reflect on my 29 years of working for this District
I remember all the years of having to protest in front of my schools wearing red attending board meetings with my children in their strollers all a raise that would help provide a liable wage for my family every time the district puts us through this process a damage is being done to our relationship there is an underlying feeling that we are not
being valued or respected how are we expected to have to do have Buy in when our own district is not adhering to these principles two weeks ago we stood before you describing the DraStic pay gap between Chino and surrounding districts asking for a li r next Daniel MOA followed by Ashley Peters followed by Monique Baka gear good evening Schoolboard members
teachers and community members my name is Daniel MOA and I'm here to speak in support of our amazing teachers teachers are the reason why this district is functioning teachers are the reason why this district has been successful in the past teachers are the district and they deserve to be compensated for all the hard work they do because they certainly
contribute far more to the district compared to the school board if the school board wants to keep running they need teachers and right now many are ready to leave because of the low pay instead of actually advocating for teachers the school board has done the opposite and is now attacking teachers the school board has no idea the hard work that teachers put in every
day for their students because the majority of the board have never been teachers some of them do not even have the qualifications to be teachers these board meetings are now becoming a clown show where members of the boards go on Range Rants and some are now even crying to paint themselves as a victim your kids are watching these schoolb meetings
and if I were them I would be ashamed and embarrassed about what my parent is doing you guys are all adults and it is time to act like some grow up and Pay Teachers a fair share of wages thank you next Ashley Peters followed by Moni B followed by Edgar I'm reading this on behalf of a CVUSD teacher Miss Shaw I want to
correct the false narrative that you are spreading at these meetings and through your social media accounts not one speaker has ever said that not having a college degree is a bad thing what was pointed out in a previous speech was the fact that you don't even have the qualifications to be a substitute teacher we have tried to reiterate the
fact that any job should be held by someone with the appropriate qualifications for example I would not give someone a medical diagnosis without having a medical degree would not practice Law Without a law degree and I would not teach a room full of students without a teaching credential Miss Shaw you do not have the qualifications to be
president of the Board of Education you have no experience in education and in fact have no professional experience of any kind Mr Monroe I should be addressing President Monroe however Miss Shaw chose to change board policy on the night he was to take over allowing her to hold on to the presidency indefinitely regardless Mr Monroe you stated at the last board meeting that
when you were a police officer you worked extra hours and did not misbehave as our teachers were accused of doing at the last meeting did you not get paid for that overtime next Monique bakar followed by Edgar followed by Katherine Gardner um hello um I've come to these meetings and watched oftentimes in disbelief at the behavior and the
actions of this board um I've had to really work on not being reactionary because I think that's the reaction that you want and the desired response at the last meeting Sonia sat at the microphone and berated the crowd for applauding teachers of the district laughed at the superintendent and Mr Cruz at the groomer sign and arrow that was being
displayed in the front row and then cried at the end of the meeting for just wanting to be a mother Sonia Shaw yelled at the crowd to behave and stated if your students acted like this in your classroom you'd want to pull them out um for cheering for their teachers um our students would never act like this
because we have mutual respect we create an environment in which we see each other and we treat each other for who we are um um I'm hopeful that as voters that are out in the community they'll see who you are and understand that you are essentially a mouthpiece for your church and they will want you out but until
then we will come we will post your behaviors online and we'll support the children and adults that you are so fiercely disrespecting and putting into Harm's Way thank you next Edgar followed by Katherine Gardner followed by Lana [Applause] roas good evening board Miss Shaw I wanted to First clarify that we are not demons we are not cockroaches and we are
not birds with that said I wanted to clarify and point out that Miss Shaw being the president president of Chino Valley Unified is actually involved in numerous other school districts across Southern California including Glendora Unified Orange Unified and glendell unified in glendell unified um Miss Shaw endorsed Jordan Henry a far-right Schoolboard candidate although there's a lot of
exciting news with regards to the Orange Unified election we have actually had our own election in glendell a few weeks ago and the candidate that you endorsed for school board has lost thank you next Catherine Gardner followed by Lana rof followed by Kristen McConnell hello on March 7th this board adopted agenda item 510 a revised parental rights notification known as
for outing after meeting with legal council in a closed session the board introduced and voted for the measure without aable comment while they did not explain their thinking events transpired that should be noted leave our kids alone the anti-lgbtq group brought a sign that said groomers with an arrow when lgbtq folks and Ally spoke they held it up video footage taken by an
audience member shows the groomer sign coming up while two different Chino parents and a trans man with a pride flag spoke during 510 footage also shows Sonia Shaw noticing the sign smiling and nudging Andrew Cruz who also smiled someone sitting in or near Shaw's spot on the de took a picture of the sign which was then posted on the Instagram
account lucky vat 213 Shaw then thanked lucky vat 23 for having her back on her account a reasonable person would assume that Sonia Shaw took a pick of the groomer sign left nudged Andrew Cruz and rather than kicking out the hate group permitted it and even enjoyed it the behavior of this board during the discussion of 510 should be entered into
the record for courts to consider behavior is information and commentary just as the board's verbal comments next Lana Roos followed by Christen McConnell followed by Jim shouts of leave our kids alone repeatedly was what we heard as we walked up to the last board meeting whatever could that mean we work with students all day long during the board
meeting the board forgot to enforce the rule that speakers only share concerns with the board and not antagonize the audience calling us groomers and pedophiles this must change the antagonistic and divisive Behavior must end we are a diverse community and we love that you cannot claim to speak for God and demonize any political opposition some of us disagree with the
new policies because they don't uphold our values some of us disagree because they marginalize our students for example one of the books on the cut list simply had a gay character that's not one that was read we are teachers we care about all students we do not our impose our religion on others we have children they are growing up in
the community to we're not going away next Christ McConnell followed by Jim C followed by Valentina HZ all right um I'm out of my comfort zone and I don't like coming up here but I'm going to do it anyway I'm a 20 year 24e veteran of the school district otherwise known as a groomer and a pedophile thank you very much because uh
as a victim of being molested at the age of three that really hurts okay this contract fight that we're going is a little bit more than just our pay and our compensation but it's also how you view us as people because how could you expect us to be friendly toward you if you're calling us such foul names right how do you expect us when
you kick us out of the room if we make noise or it tell us during Communications that you're happy when people insult you because you can take it people say you're a nice person prove it next JY followed by Valentina harez followed by Avery both my kids went to uh went through the cvsd schools uh because of
the teachers and the staff at these schools uh I was really happy with their education you know I hear how you love our school I hear how you lot you lwed us for the accomplishments that we have been able to uh for our accomplishments uh you need to show us what that means and you know that that
we shouldn't be getting paid so much less than the schools around us that I mean actions speak louder than words and uh too many great teachers have already left for other districts and uh I hope you act now before more leave so uh uh thank you for your time next Valentina horz followed by Avery followed by Kelly
lochman hi my name is Valentina hes and I'm a student at Canyon Hills junior high my mom is a teacher and I get to see firsthand how hard she works at her job not only does my mom work hard but so do all the other teachers who have taught me not only have they taught me how to sh but not only have they taught
me but they have shown me kindness and have pushed me to do the best in everything I do the teachers do not only teach but are role models for each and every student teachers put in their own money to buy supplies for activities and lessons and put in their own time and effort at home these teachers are not
are making an impact on kids' lives yet not getting paid what they deserve the least the district can do is pay the teachers what the amount they deserve ask yourselves where do would you be without the impact of teachers thank you next a followed by Kelly lochman followed by Meg Garrison board members for the previous two board
meetings I've had to hold my tongue in the name of journalistic Integrity for my school newspaper but I'm almost out of here so let's get this over with out of respect for Journal ISM and certainly not for you all I have had to cover your superficial attempts at covering and acknowledging students in our district that Excel and you always
fail to see that it is because of the staff and Educators in our district it is baffling that you have one of the most accomplished students in our district sitting among you and you still always fail to recognize that fact you say that you do the best for the students but we see right through it and we despise
you so if you want to seem like you care even a little bit about our students prioritize the teachers that have always shown that they care about us time is up next Kelly lochman followed by Meg Garrison followed by jacine Cortez I'm here in support report of a fair salary increase this is not just about being able to keep current
teachers in the district but also being able to attract experienced professionals to fill the many vacancies that the district has been dealing with for the last few years woodrest the smallest Junior High in the district has seen this problem in hiring firsthand we've lost a handful of teachers in the last few years for example an excellent science teacher left this year for
better paying benefits in another District to replace these experienced professionals we've had to hire interns or brand new teachers with little to no experience in the classroom new teachers can bring a fresh perspective to the classroom however inexperienced teachers can also bring academic challenges to an already small staff like woodrest out of 19 full-time staff me Members 42% are
interns or new teachers and for a school as small as ours this makes a big difference if the district continues to not pay a competitive salary to attract and keep experienced professionals wood crust is an example of what will happen will continue to happen until the district decides to offer salaries that will attract The Experience Educators or
students deserve next Meg Garrison followed by jacine Cortez followed by Cynthia Cerna Biddle I am a bad mom let me back up a bit I've been a teacher in this district for 32 years I absolutely love teaching and it's my passion I tell myself I work for the Lord not for man I do not feel the teachers of this District are valued
or respected by this Bo board or cabinet my daughters followed my footsteps and became teachers my oldest is adamant she would never work for Chino Valley my youngest is teaching and thriving as a teacher but unfortunately for this District I did not discourage her from coming here as I should have I'm a bad mom don't we all want what's best for
our kids my God wants her to prosper and give her a future how can she do that working here I'm close to retirement I'm not fighting for myself but I'm fighting for my daughter and all the young teachers do the right thing and make this District desirable to present and future teachers I know that I'm one of
the best teachers but because of this board and cabinet I'm not sure I am the best mom next Jaclyn pz followed by Cynthia CNA B followed by Sandra noon and Dr anfield how dare you you are a coward you need a gross and you will pay for it and one day you will not be sitting up there you are gone Dr Enfield
it's a matter of time Dr Enfield what did Miss Shaw want you to grow I always wondered Mr naw is this the woman you said would make a great teacher not only does she not have the professional qualifications but she also does not have the right temperament Mr Monroe don't ever compare the work you did as a
police officer with what we do as teachers you got paid for overtime and we are expected to work extra for free Miss Shaw remember when you bullied the previous School Board president Christina you ran a campaign on parental rights and mocked Christina for not having children only a villain does that Christina has proven that you don't need
to be a parent to be compassionate and care for all students just like you are proof being a parent does not automatically make you caring fertility issues exist so there's no need to weaponize Parenthood stop using your children as an excuse to be a bully just that make you're a bully next Cynthia a bidle followed by Sandra noon followed by Sarah
[Applause] Omari so miss bidle left and I'm next so is it okay if I go the person who was speaking laugh so she's not here so I'm Sandra noon okay don't who who is next up who's next up next was Cynthia cab bidle uh she's saying that she left she left so I'm speaking on both both of our behalfs I'm
next Sandra noon minut yeah you just I have a minut i Consolidated all right so throughout this negotiation uh many have come up already and explained how ously we work for our students and for the school district I want to talk about how our low pay is affecting me directly as a SP teacher with a master's degree with
dual credentials who has worked for other school districts this is the first time in my career that I cannot afford health care for my family and I'm constantly worrying about mortgage bills Hefty student loans living paycheck to paycheck even with with an additional salary sleepless nights wondering how I'm going to make ends meet and survive the summer without work or having a fine
additional work our family is not being able to spend quality time together because we have to work other jobs to make against meet most of you in here understand and live the same struggle I'm standing here as a mother and as a teacher for CVUSD today and to ask for a reasonable and just negotiation please consider the high cost of living in
California and how this affects us monetarily mentally healthwise and most important ly how it affects our families Miss Shaw you have mentioned how important mental health and family is to you so I I urge you to advocate for a group that is often overlooked our educator next Sarah Omari followed by Bobby Omari followed by Becky do you want to call the next three
again Bobby Omari followed by Becky compos followed by Lisa great thank you for actually reading my full name tonight um as a product of CVUSD resident and advocate for public education I was appalled at the behavior and how our school board enabled people to show stop groomer signs directed at teachers or anyone opposed to their hateful rhetoric or agenda Michelle eyes
up here please um just when I think the bar cannot get any lower they defy All Odds and expectations which are already set pretty low or non-existent what's even more concerning is that this cabinet superintendent and secretary seem to be complicit in this Behavior there should be decorum and respect between all parties involved but the butt stops with the Schoolboard
president and CB USD leadership or lack thereof to set the tone for the community currently the tone you're setting is one of hate anger resentment fear bullying and hostility to intimidate our community our students teachers parents and residents deserve better so actually do better and next Bobby Omari followed by Becky compost followed by Lisa great house good evening Dr Enfield and
Schoolboard trustees I think we can all be in agreement that our last school board meeting was disastrous under this board's leadership we've enabled some of the worst instincts from many in and out of our community and a clear sign that chaos is the Guiding Light for this school board it is also clear this board has no interest in governance oversight
leadership or bringing anything valuable to the table frankly Chino Valley is tired of the antics of the school board and their inability to articulate a Clear Vision for CVUSD instead of a Schoolboard members are using government resources to air their grievances let's prioritize a cvsd where all students feel safe welcomed and supported and where teachers are secure
respected and have the resources they need to do their job effectively the Silver Lining from that last meeting is that our community is dedicated or decided to prioritize community over chaos and will decide the future of our school board in November 2024 as the saying goes we are greater than the sum of our parts thank you next Becky compos followed by Lisa
great house followed by Debbie wool good evening first I'd like to thank our CA unit members and our families and Community for their support as they take a look behind you I see that our district logo says student achievement safe schools and positive School climate let's visit a couple of those ideas first student achievement our districtwide state scores have gone
up significantly both in ela and math thanks to your teachers so check great job chaino Valley teachers now let's talk about the last part of the logo positive School climate when we teach our kids we show them we care teachers create a positive environment for students to thrive tell me how you create a positive environment for all of your CVS USD employees to
thrive how do you create a positive environment for your CVUSD teachers how do your actions and treatments of your teachers impact the positive School climate ask yourself am I helping to create a positive School environment for the schools by not showing respect to their teachers keep in mind teachers are the reason you're able to Pat yourself on your back you're
welcome next great house followed by De Wy followed by Christy Hurst at the last school board meeting mha who was known for disrupting school board meetings before she ran for office was in full dictator mode we saw teachers fed up with this District's refusal to bargain fairly during contract negotiations pleading for better pay and benefits of course they are frustrated and it showed
but instead of displaying professionalism and Leadership expected of a board president missar repeatedly insulted teachers students and community members kicking people out right and left but you know who she didn't have an issue with her supporters who were sitting in the front row with a huge sign that said stop gomers and an arrow point to get any speaker who didn't
agree with the board majority Miss Shaw you were seen chuckling at the sign and even posed for a photo with the group that brought it so you think it's okay for a bunch of agitators to call our Educators and community members pedophiles but you throw hardworking teachers out of a public meeting you should be ashamed of yourself thank
you next Debbie rley followed by Christy Hurst followed by Cara people I am a mother and a grandmother my oldest granddaughter graduated from CVUSD High School last may I have nothing but praise and gratitude for all the Educators and administrators that worked with and supported her she is now attending college I am also a college graduate with a master's degree in
Speech Pathology and Audiology and I have worked in this district for 32 years Miss Shaw you have posted on social media advising our Educators to defund the union union are the reason this country is great they brought us 40-hour work weeks health benefits workplace safety higher competitive wages collective bargaining vacations retirement agreements process predictable scheduling child labor laws
and have offset economic instability the list is not just for Teacher Union but for all unions union members fund the union no one else they are the reason we have a strong robust middle class unions are a good thing and have improved the lives of Americans as to your comment about controlling students we are not trying to control time is
up next Christy Hurst followed by CL damato followed by Dave o brand next is Cara damato followed by Dave o'rand followed by Eric champ Sonia Sonia Sonia look at me when I'm talking to you please according to your post we the community and teachers displayed vulgar Behavior a middle finger which was not a teacher by the way screaming yelling whistles blowing
and constant disruptions it sounds like you were actually describing yourself this is one of my favorite moments of you blah blah blah blah blah you said blah blah blah 15 times this is from the audience you weren't at the podium speaking you're doing this from the audience and you expect us to follow the rules this is you also screaming from
the audience while they're trying to conduct a meeting questions or discussion poor Miss G now if we were to pass pull our kids out you walked up to the podium from the audience and you weren't a speaker and Dr anfield how dare you our favorite one you areed you need to grow some next D brand followed by Eric champ
followed by Jeremiah [Applause] Park members of the board the first amendment requires that any government speech restrictions be neutral and applied evenly but while you kicked out multiple members who disagreed with you and even yelled at some for coughing a group of your supporters sat the entire meeting with a sign that said stop groomers and would point an arrow at any
speaker who disagreed with their and indeed your Viewpoint this included students for God's sake not only were you silent you seemed entertained by the defamatory Behavior to be sure defamatory statements are not protected by the First Amendment additionally it is a clear violation of the First Amendment to apply speech restrictions unfairly and in in in favor of any
Viewpoint over another that is what you repeatedly did at the last meeting and that's what you routinely do at these meetings your continuation of this type of behavior May create liability for the district and a further need to spend District funds on clearly unnecessary litigation the behaviors of your supporters to intimidate and stifle speech and your endorsement of such
Behavior may also violate the First Amendment the hypocrisy next Eric champ followed by Jeremiah Park followed by Amy Faria my name is Eric champ and I'm sharing an email my wife and I sent to you all and receive no response it's important you hear this so you can be more aware of the current state of our district hello
CVUSD board and Dr infield a few of my children this school year have felt the consequences of a chaotic School climate my daughter at Townsend is on her third Ela teacher this year and has had several Subs in between my current freshman at Chino Hills High School had a teacher last semester that was a notion many days my son also hasn't had
an English teacher for months and has had different daily subs how does this class meet a through G requirements if they are told to just be quiet and play games on their phone most days the subs are giving zero work I have not been notified anytime my student doesn't have a teacher in support of full transparency I politely request that you
add to your parental notification policy that parents be notified within 3 days if a teacher resigns is on leave or is a no-show I can't understand why we are spending countless hours and dollars on issues that just frankly don't exist and ignoring issues that are directly directly related to students education pay the teachers better for our students
next Jeremiah Park followed by Amy Faria uh as a student while I cannot claim to be perfectly knowledgeable about the intricacies of the Dig uh District budget I can say that I am reasonably observant I've observed how as I work on my year-long AP research project teachers that I don't even know have offered their help and guidance
I've observed how when I served as class president last year my adviser sacrificed several hours per school week uh after school to help my officers and I prepare for rallies and I've observed how many teachers even offer their students extra credit to support fellow students at performing arts and sports events I observe that teachers care for us however I also observe that their
dedication and sacrific is not being justly rewarded or compensated I'm proud to be an IA student and grateful for my teachers if you also take pride in our District's s strong test scores and academic performance I hope that that Pride will be reflected in my teacher salaries thank you next Amy Faria and this is the final [Applause]

questions seeing that there's none we're now on to Communications Mr Bridge thank you couple of um couple of points first before I get to um my U my comments uh this afternoon I attended the U on behalf of the school district the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce salute to Public Safety uh uh program honoring officers firefighter and staff
members of the Year also uh attended uh combined Elementary School course uh at Don Lugo which featured students from anab borba EJ Marshall Briggs Newman uh plus a guest performance from the yala theater company performing songs from Mama Mia was a just a tremendous program and congratulations to those students and uh I wish my schedule would have
allowed me to catch a few of the others but uh they're programs that are really well done um also had the chance to attend uh the Chino Hills High School uh Sunday opening reception for the was visiting committee for their accreditation and also the follow-up meeting on on Tuesday with District administrators uh I can say based on the
committee's response on Tuesday that they were very impressed with the student parent and Community involvement at that school and that part of the uh Community they they noticed it right off now I'm going to get to uh what I really want to say tonight I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on what went on two weeks ago
because when I got home I was ticked probably worse than that but that's what I can say some of you were were shocked some of you were appalled I thought it was asinine that's ASI n i NE e so there's no clarifica Mis clarification on that that sign being held up in the front row you want to look at something what I
think of when I when I I saw it thought of a dog grooming service you're going to talk about groomers people have business to that or how about good grooming such as a shower bath haircut beard trim clean clothes I unbelievable that that people would point an arrow and Target an entire group because you're not just targeting one or two you're targeting
you're you're painting the brush with a broad brush every single teacher and staff person in this District not just the ones you were pointing at I don't need to mention a song by Singer Neil Diamond and I'm paraphrasing it brother loves traveling Road show coming in here to prove their point waving a giant flag to prove their
patriotic because those of us who live here raised our families and some of us who go to church every Sunday including my wife and I every Sunday not just when it's convenient support our local businesses are just as patriotic as anybody else in this community in fact this entire Chino Valley Community is just as patriotic so think about it the next
time you go around accusing people so let's get down to the business as I said two weeks ago of what we're here for student achievement I pointed that out safe schools and school climate that's who we're here for that's what makes this community great in closing I'd like to wish everyone a very nice spring break which is next week also remind you time is
flying by graduation is just two months away that concludes my comments thank you Mr Bridge Mr na well I think Mr Bridge read my mind too I was talking to Khloe just about couple minutes ago about tonight's meeting and I could say about last meeting too because I had a a long conversation with one of the teachers too as
well um I have been saying about our school district and and our mission here it is to provide an excellent education opportunity for our students that would be number one number two to invite and appreciate parental involvement in our students education that's number two number three to teach students to respect our teachers and our staff members that was my mission number three
and number four to provide safe learning environment for everyone but there's a problem here uh last couple meetings our meetings is becoming more personal and out of line the signs people held over the last meeting and even even two nights in the back becomes became just personal it's tell you the truth embarrassing embarrassing for especially for our our young students to watch and
bear and listen what are we teaching our students for example Chloe has lots of work to do she's in her senior year comes here and spends her time and being a good student board member and we don't need to show this drama that's that's worthless that's nothing to do with education and let me tell you if you're
over 18 years old and let's say you have been dealing with people whether as an educator or state staff members or or or parents or anybody you could read people our board members Mr Bridge or John or Miss cha or our superintendent or Mr Cruz including Chloe you could read people these are decent human being I do not know about what's on
social media I'm completely black about that but as a people they're decent people and and we are proud to serve our students in our school district if that is not true I would have said so in the public and also in the private but I didn't because they're good parents they're good grandparents and they really care for
our education in our school district and I don't know what's in the air or whether what's in the water or what's in the SNS we need to knock it off no more signs disrespecting our teachers our uh staff members and our students our parents our our cabinet members our our board members we don't need that if you want to be
disrespectful write a letter do something house this is a meeting time where we're proud to represent our students and and the parents and our Educators going to the mission and and one of my mission is to teach our youth our students the respect for our teachers and our staff members but if we don't show that in action what are going to what are we
going to teach them and how and when 5 years from now it'll be already too late time is now to teach them in action and again let me tell you our board members especially including Miss Sona sha she's a great mom for her two daughters in high school in our school district and hard worker as a board
member Mr Bridge is a cruise and all our people that serves on cabinet are good people they work hard and our teachers I remember when I visit on campus they give out the lunch time to open doors so that let the students come in and and help them with math homeworks these are our true uh teachers that we have in our school
district so I don't know in the last meeting if they were from our school district I don't know I I didn't believe they were so but let's let's start something fresh and something meaningful now on and let's be an adult over 18 years old and at this time I'd like to have any students who came here spoke
tonight in the audience to be uh stand up and let's give them a great Applause please get up if you are a student here and spoke for the teachers please stand up thank you yeah yes yeah you yeah you represent the rest of the population I would love to see students support their teachers and I I hope you would carry
that throughout your life and never forget the teachers had given you the hope and opportunity and and and made you a whole person and Misha thank you so much and and and don't worry about those discrepancies on the wall and the weird signs uh it's it's like flies and mosquitoes they're there for reasons that are that not important so so it's
okay we just continue to serve our students because that is the only reason why we're here thank you thank you Mr n Mr me um I do want to first of all um I do want to congratulate the the teachers that were recognized tonight for their hard work and and it's nice to see them get recognized I also want to thank them
they gave us a book of leadership um which I appreciate I've got a good little library on that on leadership books um and I enjoy reading them so thank you very much for that and congratulations on being recognized I also want to thank Danny Hernandez for his words and although he's also involved in negotiations I felt he did a good job of both being
respectful and um portraying his frustration with the process so that's what I would like to see going forward Ward um in in that manner so uh thank you Mr Hernandez for that uh I also uh I want to speak out against the signs that uh I don't know why we have the need to bring these signs when I first got on this board and
people were bringing all different signs I actually inquired if we could ban signs from The Boardroom I just don't think signs have a purpose inside here but to create disruption I don't mind them outside you want to do whatever you want outside um but I was told that uh that we couldn't do that um because of uh legal
reasons um but when we have signs like we did last time that all that sign did is just completely antagonistic it doesn't accomplish anything and uh if you're going to bring a sign that has a contrary opinion I would hope it was just a at least somewhat educated opinion and uh at least spoke to your reason of why you
think contrary to somebody else and that sign did not do that um also um there were a couple comments towards me and I would love to address those comments but it appears that nobody cares because everybody left so I'll just say that if you want to know the answers I I do find it funny and as I am involved in education and
around uh schools for many years it's funny the similarities between police work and education because you think people tell you what to do in your police in your in your classroom and how to educate people but everybody knows the law and knows how to tell police to do their job so when we talk about qualification I do
find it ironic when we bring that up I don't want to spend time on all the hours that I spent in my career of free time if those of you that have questions on that I will gladly sit down with you and talk about that I have met with many people I am meeting with people in the
coming weeks uh for various reasons and I want to continually thank those that reach out that we can have face-to-face conversations because those are the most productive conversations unlike this um I want to thank those that are willing to host me as I go around and try to gain further education on what we do and insight onto what individuals do
and their unique uh jobs in the education industry there is a ton of them and um not holding a lot of those specific jobs I know very superficial things about them so having somebody willing to have somebody come look over their shoulder for a little bit and gain some knowledge of what they do and what they go through every day is worth its weight
in gold and there are people in this District that are willing to do that and I want to thank them for doing that um finally I do want to say today as we sit here again and we see the antagonistic uh atmosphere uh somewhere along the lines a chain has to break and you are responsible for you it
is not they did it so I get to do it if anybody's to set the example you're the only one that can and if we would all kind of adhere to that we would be able to go along a little bit better maybe have some better more productive conversations in doing that so I again leave that challenge I I
look I wish everybody a a Happy Spring Break um to recharge for the rest of the year it uh it I know it's much needed coming down to the end of the school year and and I hope everybody enjoys that and uh thank you thank you thank you Mr Monroe Mr Cruz you know I I really feel that we're really close of
finishing negotiations and um you know Danny Danny did a fantastic job like when when R stated you know there's a saying that says last in and first out you know the last thing I want are layoffs so if we ever do come into that position a year from now that we do furlows rather than layoffs so um I hope that's the
case and um oh yes this is the 2024 Festival of the Arts uh Mr Ingram creates these every year for the Arts and it's really beautiful it it has all the pictures of the students artwork it's amazing artwork I tell you it's it's perfect it's really beautiful stuff here um I se Sonia and I we we attended the Wickman times times Council
that was kind of I I really enjoyed that that was very festivity with music and things like that um I attended the Chino Neighborhood police officers were supporting the Chino Neighborhood and and the prophets went to children activities things like that and woodrest um woodrest made it to the distinguished award so they're going to be celebrating sometime in May I
believe and um well you know a lot of people are afraid to say what's on your mind but I'm not that's why I only have three friends but um but you know you know I was so happy I was so happy when when when Shaw was a soccer mom I saw her coming up during those times seeing the changes that were
going to happen I know the state of America where it's leading towards Amica is gone and we're going into something and so I was so happy when she became elected that I know that she's making a difference in millions of people paying attention to what's going on in our environment I know Sonia is not lukewarm she has made up her mind to save lives
to save children's lives and people all over this country and that is why I'm here as well obviously I can make a big impact like president Shaw but these are differences that are being made for for what's coming and it's not years it's I believe it's maybe weeks or months the big changes are going to be happening
and so and so I'm so proud of Sonia that the main objective is waking people up and see who are the real enemy of this country and that is is not ourselves because they polarize us it's the system it's it's it's hard to describe but but um we're making choices and hopefully that that good prevails and um you know you know meta
they did something very awful to um Sonia it it tells you that she's over the target she's over the Target because they wouldn't be wasting their time with this but I just want to share this with you says here says meta stated this is recently members of the public who searched for Shaw's name on The Meta owned platform
Instagram in Facebook received a warning message and that message M made us stated we think that your search might be associated with a child's sexual abuse and warned that searching for such materials can lead to imprisonment and other severe punishment somebody in those in that big benoth did this to her she's so effective that she's making a difference
and you know who is really destroying the lives of our children completely destroying them sterilizing them mentally so they won't have kids in the future completely just it's it's it's shocking what they're doing but people like her is stopping this kind of stuff so we're we're ding we're ding this kind of stuff that's occurring so I'm very proud of
you Sonia you just keep it up because you're here and and you're in the right place and you're perfect for the job you are a mother and that's how it was supposed to be so I'm I'm very proud of you thank you superintendent Dr an no comments tonight thank you Dr anfi and you know I hesitated on saying a few things but I'm
just one for transparency and one to try to stop what is happening before we hit a wall that we can't turn around on um unfortunately when you are part of change change is hard change hurts um and and change is needed here it was needed here comparing me as a mother who was upset because kids were denied and
education and put outside in the rain where I witness these kids suffering as young as 5-year-olds I'm sorry I understand our district didn't now as a parent didn't have much to do but I understood these people right here had everything to do with it and luckily we have a majority that is speaking up Mr Bridge you talk about a sign why didn't
you say something during the meeting when I saw it I was like did anybody see that I never saw the arrow I saw the sign I've asked prior can we remove all signs did I not Dr anfield that's correct and that was before I saw that sign signs to me inside a boardroom again they're distracting they're hateful I've never seen anything
beautiful on any of these signs except right now I see Miss Linda we love you Sonia Shaw thank you Linda I love you that was the first not even that it's about me I just love that it had positive it could say we love you know I don't know somebody else but I will say this me as a parent I did get upset at
board meetings I will never deny my behavior at board meetings when a child's denied an education and put in unsafe things I am disappointed in our community that more didn't stand up and scream for these kids these kids were not mine but it was my community that I stood up for so when I stood up and yelled I was sounding the alarm that
kids were being harmed that is the truth and we talk about unions being great I wish to God the the teachers union is great but unfortunately is not and guess who with standing with those teachers when their Union denied them and wouldn't support them I sat here as a board member for the last year and I watched all of these people being
tortured including our amazing teachers and guess who's taking the biggest brunt of it our children and I was told can't say anything you'll get a perb you can't say anything we can't say anything all while we watched the exact agenda that happening all over California in places where board members are standing up for the community and the children to save
them this whole agenda is the same exact thing all over the place you see it you see that they claim that we don't want to give Fair wages well guess what guys we wanted to give a fair wage we're almost there do you see what we gave the last one it's almost what with the benefits past 7% okay what does that tell you we
always wanted to give that we weren't even able to give that get me in trouble for saying it but I'm not going to sit here and watch these people suffer while people over there are doing the wrong thing and lying to our good teachers our good teachers need the money now our good staff members our Amazing Security
they need the money now not later and I'm watching this happen and I'm over here told to shut up don't say anything not that you said shut up but you know what I'm saying like no I'm sorry I didn't come here to make friends I came here to make change I may came here because Chino Valley is amazing I will
say that every meeting it is amazing and I want to make sure it doesn't turn into any other District out here in California that we are all deathly afraid of that people are fighting because people are sexualizing kids that is the truth our district does an amazing job me as a parent Dr Enfield I've already apologize to what I said to
him because I thought it was him that made the decision not the majority of the board but I'm sorry somebody needed to say something when kids were being hurt so if you want to go after me and then you want to go after me and make Snippets and try to destroy me in this community of me responding to profanity
you talk about flipping people off you talk about teachers standing up screaming at the top of their lungs don't compare that to me sounding the alarm because kids were put outside when it was raining and denied in education that is disgusting that is absolutely horrific and disgusting especially when those same teachers know exactly what their Union is doing get me in trouble
for telling the truth but I didn't come here to lie and I did not come here to play around and I did not come here to pretend like there's not a problem that's coming down from Sacramento and the political cartel and these unions anybody can look up the CTA website it's not focused on education it's focused on
sexualizing your children go ahead take me to court for it because that is the truth I have screenshots of everything that they push our department of Ed same thing same exact thing so you know what we also have people in the community that says Chino stop doing business with anybody who supports Calvary Chapel Chino Hill Shaw or hibs Chino residents
don't support Colts are are you kidding me that's not hate that's not hate trying to take someone's well-being away and feeding their children because they assoc associate them with somebody like me who's trying to protect kids did you guys know that every policy that I have broughten forward and gratefully our board has supported as a majority we
have either a per violation or we've gotten Heck from The our Union here why what did I do so crazy and extreme ask for stronger policies to not have sexually obscene material on the hands of kids oh God forbid that's horrible I'm extreme call me extreme all day long then bringing parents back in the picture when a teacher knows something
how dare we even allow the good teachers to hold that secret knowing their parents aren't even dangerous and their parents love them call me extreme okay go ahead do it telling the uh or bringing a policy to make sure our classrooms are not politically charged and we don't have teachers fighting each other for things that are not supposed
to be in a classroom go ahead call me extreme I wear all those things proudly I will never deny who I am I will never deny sounding the alarm when I saw kids hurt and what I will say this I wrote I was starting to read Because guess what guys you encouraged me to read when you told me I was uneducated but just saying
um standing up to Goliath it's about a teacher who stood up to the union and these words literally brought me to tears because I stood alongside and I still stand alongside some of the most greatest staff members and teachers in this very District that were bullied and they were told to be quiet by the union they denounced and berated her
from the stage for having committed the most unart sin her independent thinking cannot be tolerated this is somebody who wrote a book a few years ago when she stood up to the the California teachers union I watched as union leaders have drowned out debate at Schoolboard meetings pushed for sexually explicit sex education l lessons groomed students and
teachers to become social justice Warriors and used indefensible in intimidation tactics to bring down anyone who refused to cower to the control of state and National Unions that's now who I call my dear friend Rebecca she stood up to her Union she was scared to death but because of her bravery and her courage many teachers were able to do the same and
guess what I get it it hurts I tell everybody in this room they want to come after you for doing the right thing I will stand in front of you I will take every punch my family's life two days ago again was people were wishing violence on my family's life they were calling me a child molester forget even
Meta Meta did what they did we're talking about people who sit in our front row that don't belong in our community making videos of me out of context trying to hurt me bring me down because I'm protecting students that is disgusting that's vile and I won't give up to those things and neither were this community this community is beautiful I
know I stand with this community majority I know this community majority believes in what we're fighting for our district does an amazing job they are so beautiful at what they do our teachers our principes our staff I can tell you right now I am so proud of them but I'm not going to sit here and let their
hands be tied from doing what they are supposed to do without fighting for it so you can go ahead use your tactics I will say this right now to every single person trying to take me down I am protected by God and you will not take me down because he stands before me and that rock you through that was meant for
him it hit me and I'll gladly take it for the protection of our students and with that said I now adjourn the regular Board of Education meeting at 8:19 p.m.
