and confirm for the record that the agenda has been posted at the location accessible to the public yes I'm in Nashville Tennessee and I'm here everything's been posted and ready to go all right and before we begin please silence all electronic devices and note that these proceedings are being recorded the board met in Clos session from 4:50 p.m. to 5:28 p.m. regarding

conference with legal counsel on existing litigation two cases student Discipline matters conference with labor negotiations act and CCA Public Employee appointment director assessment and instructional technology and director maintenance and operations Public Employee discipline dismissal release and public employee performance evaluation superintendent the board voted to appoint uh Joseph dhy as director of assessment and instructional technology with a vote of three zero

with Bridge Cruz Monroe voting yes and Shaw and na not present would Mr dhy please come to the I guess [Applause] microphone president Shaw uh Vice President Monroe Dr infield distinguished cabinet members um and distinguished board members i' like to thank uh thank you all for this opportunity um I am greatly excited at um working in this position and

servicing our students in this new capacity and um look forward to a great year thank you [Applause] congratulations all right before we go any further can I ask you all to please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance place your hand over your heart ready to begin United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation

under God indivisible with liy and justice for all thank you very much and as we get started um we actually have mayor yoa here um as joining to celebrate some accomplishments of the district so thank you for joining us and if you'd like to take the podium real quick mayor it's truly an honor to be here this evening to acknowledge the school

district for this absolutely phenomenal award and I will read our certificate of congratulations Chino Valley Unified School District the city of Chino congratulates you on being recognized as a model professional learning community at work district one of just two districts in California to receive this honor we thank you for your continued dedication to all students across Chino

Valley and it's signed today by myself it's a phenomenal award that you have gotten and I want to congratulate all of you for your hard work on behalf of your students and also your parents we at the city appreciate your hard work because of course your students are the ones that are in our community as well and

we'll grow up and be our Future Leaders so thank you very much and it's an honor to be here this evening and I have this for you thank you mayor I I do want to point out as well uh Chino Hills councilman Bennett was going to come today and present a certificate as well and and he's taken

ill and couldn't make it but they did deliver the certificate as well so we thank you mayor for being here with us and your kind words we appreciate all the work you do in our city and we'd like to thank the Chino Hills Council as well for that um and now for this evening's recognitions uh we have

Jessica Robert Rogers from the state office executive director of solution tree here to present the national model PLC at work District award good evening thank you so much for having me here today um I'm going to start off by saying I am um a Schoolboard member in my personal life and I am extremely jealous that uh my district couldn't be

the second district in the state of California to get this award but maybe we can be number three and I hope you'll be okay with that um I'm here tonight as the executive director for solution trees uh California State office and I stand before you to commend the outstanding achievement by the Chino Valley Unified School District and being

named a model professional Learning Community one of the only two in California and I might note that the First District in California was awarded this in 2009 so this is an amazing accomplishment that takes a lot of hard work and you all should be very proud of yourselves a professional Learning Community is not merely a program but

but a dynamic process wherein Educators collaborate in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to enhance student outcomes this achievement is a testament to the dedication and effort of the district's staff and teachers the essence of the PLC process revolves around three core principles first is a commitment to high levels of learning for all students second fostering a

collaborative culture among Educators to share best practices and third maintaining a steadfast focus on achieving measurable results in student achievement and Central to this process are the four critical questions which really Drive our work every day first what do we want our students to learn having a clear understanding of that helps give great direction to the teachers in the classroom

second how will we know if they learned it assessing whether or not our instruction is actually being absorbed and the students are learning it third what actions will we take if they haven't learned it which goes to um show the efforts that we're not here to just Spiel out information and move forward we're here to make sure that students

are learning in the classroom and then fourth what actions will we take if students have learned it how will we enrich and enhance their learning and these questions guide the collaborative efforts of Educators ensuring Clarity of purpose and accountability throughout the year so earning the distinction of a model PLC District requires not only consistent Improvement in student achievement over

three years but also a DED a dedicated commitment to the principles of a PLC Chino Valley Unified has exemplified these principles through collaborative initiatives common standards formative assessments and targeted interventions for students this journey towards EXC Excellence predates the challenges of the pandemic reflecting over a decade of unwavering dedication and perseverance notably however coming out of the pandemic Chino

Val unified was the only District in the county and among similar districts um of similar demographics and size to experience increases in English language arts this is a testament to the resilience and dedication of the district's Educators and Leadership so I extend my heartfelt appreciation to every member of the Chino Valley Unified School District Community including the principles which

a lot of you are here today teachers instructional coaches classified employees school board members and District administrators for their Relentless pursuit of Student Success this achievement is a collective effort and each individual should take pride in their contribution so on behalf of solution tree I am honored to officially recognize Chino Valley Unified School District as the second model PLC

District in the state of California congratulations and we have um a wonderful flag that I hope you will hang high in front of your district office and we would love some photo opportunities y um if you don't mind for a few minutes yeah hi can you even Andy I'm really small she's getting tall she got a stool yeah thanks for back TR to look as

short I straight don't move I blink Molly right there don't move ready one Dr Grace I want to say something Miss Rogers you know you know real quick you you you said you said some certain things and one word you use resilience you know a lot of times school districts do flavors of instruction and they give up and they go but you know here at the

school district the word resilience persistence refining failing repeating it it's intense and they persisting throughout the years and that's the results M and then when you think about the goals and the result I bet you it was more pleasurable of the process of reaching the result and now we have to find a problem to go ahead and and do the process again

because I think the process that's where we learn about ourselves and how we could perfect education in our children but but what what's really important is our our teachers that their courage and their love of of being resilient and believing in in the program is humbling because without them this would never have have happened so with humility we always have to give

thanks to our teachers so absolutely absolutely and I just I just would like to add if if that's all right um the PLC journey is never over you are always continuing to build and enhance and improve that process because every year new challenges arise that that will challenge the leadership of the schools and the teachers so it is something that

many schools give up because it's hard sometimes but I think that's why it's such an amazing accomplishment here for the district to become a model professional Learning Community because all of your schools have pursued and persevered through those challenges so absolutely agree with you and a big round of applause for your teachers and school leadership as well Mr minro Jessica I I want to as a

superintendent I want to thank you for being here and recognizing our district for the work that they've done for the PLC process um first of all when I look at the the work that has happened in our district um across our district I have to give complete thanks to our teachers who um day in and day out are the ones

responsible for doing this work and uh for people who are not familiar with it this is not easy work this is extremely difficult difficult work to do um and if it was easy everybody would be doing it and so uh with it if it wasn't for their work day in and day out with it we wouldn't be here where we're are where

we are the other part I want to also thank our schools side administrators because they're they're the ones who are providing that support and having to listen to we're saying downtown and hey you got to take this back to the school site um and they're kind of caught in that that middle part but they do a phenomenal job at their school sites

helping in and supporting those School sites through this process and the other group I want to thank is our C group The at the district level looking at the systems work that needs to happen in a district in order to be able to try to accomplish this task and so uh if it wasn't for all three groups working

together in this process and and as you said it's never over it's just that refinement that we got to continue that refinement just let get a little bit better this year get a little bit better than next year and that it's just that refinement that we're we're we're trying to build that culture throughout our our district and why we do that we do that

because this work is the work for our students uh when you talk about Equity this is equity uh because we have those essential standards and those essential standards are we want all kids to learn those and we want all kids to learn them at a high level and it's through this process of the PLC that we're able to guarantee that and

we're not perfect we still have a lot of work to go um but this is that Equity work when people talk about that that this really is that Level Playing Field because it doesn't matter what school you're at you're going to receive the essential standards and we want you to receive those at a high level and if you

move from one school to another I go to this school I'm going to still be doing those essential standards so that learning is equal across our district and and again um not easy work uh very very difficult work but it's work I know all of our administrators and our teachers staff and board should be extremely proud of uh because we're

doing the right work and we're going to continue with that that work around the PLC so thank you for being here uh to recognize the the work that everybody has put in because I've seen it they they've done a lot of work and and and it's good work so thank you it's my pleasure thank you any other

comments Mr Bridge yeah uh I too want to uh add my thanks to solution tree for this uh very prestigious award and it as a 33-year retired teacher and my wife taught in the district 30 years it certainly uh shows I think the the dedication that our teaching staff has our our classified staff has our administrative staff everybody in this

District that pulls together and makes this the type of District that we wanted to live here here we wanted to work here have our children go through here it it it's just a wonderful community and it certainly as I said validates everything that uh that we know about this district and why we're here but thank you very

much abolutely you're welcome thank you m thank you appreciate the opportunity have a I apologize I have to jet to a flight so I I apologize you we don't blame you I have another one tomorrow another Presentation tomorrow so it's a good time here thank you very much for thank you for joining us congratulations and I just want to thank

all the teachers and staff at are in the room so although we got to hold the award and and flags really it's your guys's award it that's your hard work and I I hope you take the heart the kind words that Miss Rogers had to say about all the efforts that you guys made it it it makes a difference and uh we truly

appreciate it and we thank you for being here and if you have places to go and places to be please feel free to to go and enjoy the rest of your evening thank you for joining us and basically celebrating yourselves thank you just give it a sec for people to come sit down or you want to keep going give

and get seated there were some people waiting outside speak Miss Kaylor [Music] right get started yeah we get started all right we'll go ahead and keep moving forward next up is the lcap state priorities 3 and six report from Dr Grace Park president Shaw Vice President Monroe members of the board superintendent Enfield cabinet and Community we have our fourth update on

our local control and accountability plan also known as our lcap Chino Valley has four lcap goals to improve student outcomes to address local School District priorities and the eight required State priorities our update will be on the progress of State priorities three and six which are used in part to gauge the progress of lcap goal 2 using our state adopted

reflection tool there are required elements for measuring the progress of the eight State priorities using both state and local metrics State metrics are used when common data points are available which include graduation rates suspension rates and test scores and are reported on the California school dashboard by way of colored gauges with red representing the lowest performance level and blue representing the highest

level local metrics are also used to gauge progress for State priorities that are only available at the local level with for example with information gathered GED from surveys or state reflection tools with local metrics the district determines the performance toward meeting a state priority as having met not met or not met for two years evidence for meeting a local

priority is made if progress is measured annually and reported to the board of education at a regularly scheduled public meeting in the first part of our presentation we have Dr finkbiner director of access and Equity who will review our evaluation on the district's progress with the three promising practices for parent involvement and family engagement using the state

reflection tool followed by Dr Gomez our director of Health Services who will highlight student perceptions of school safety and connectedness gathered from The District's annual K12 Insight School quality survey State priority three involvement in family engagement is evaluated using multiple data sources including the school quality survey school plans for student achievement and feedback from educational Partners through the lcap

advisory committee English language advisory committees and School site councils results from our internal evaluations are used to guide the district through a cycle of continual improve Improvement for each of the three promising practices we will report on the district's progress of implementation ranging on a scale from one exploration and research to five full implementation and sustainability for section one building relationships

between staff and family we have two Focus areas in full implementation and two Focus areas in full implementation and sustainability section two focuses on building Partnerships for student outcomes in section two we have two Focus areas in full implementation and two Focus areas in full implementation and sustainability section three focuses on seeking input for decisionmaking in section three we have

two Focus areas in full implementation and two Focus areas in implementation and sustainability we are pleased to share that with the value we place on family engagement 85% of participants in the K12 school quality survey agreed or strongly agreed that our schools create a welcoming environment for all families for the 2023 2024 school year the district has met the local indicator for

parent and family engagement the K12 Insight survey is administered districtwide every year to students in grades 6 through 12th the purpose of this survey is to gather information on the factors that affect the overall district and school climate in this part of the presentation we will look at student responses that allow us to gather better Insight on students

perception of safety and connectedness with school these percentages represent student responses agreeing or strongly agreeing to questions centered on school safety both physically and emotionally and connected to to an adult on campus to whom our students can seek help from regarding both school and personal concerns these results provide a comparison of student responses across the 2223 and 2324 school years

highlighting our District's continuous efforts to improve School climate as evidenced by an increase in student responses over time these high percentages of District of student responses exemplifies our District's commitment to providing a positive learning environment for all students in addition these outcomes are attributed to our dedicated Educators and their effective implementation of positive behavioral interventions and supports also referred to as PBIS for

which all School sites have received numerous accolades through Statewide recognition for consecutive school years for the 2023 2024 school year the district has met the local indicator for school climate this concludes our update to the board on our progress with State priorities three and comments yeah Dr Grace you know the award that we received you know since it's been since

2009 our school district received award that we received today now obviously this discuss about families and things like that and so what what's your opinion on on the plc's and the families I always assume that the families were integrated part of the plc's was that is that kind of true families are not directly involved in the professional learning community at

work process however with our work with essential stand ards we're very transparent with what the 10 to 12 are in each grade and course and they are available to our families for Access and posted on our district website um thank you no further questions or comments thank you all right we are now at comments from our student representative Chloe

good evening board president Shaw Vice President Monroe members of the board superintendent Enfield and distinguished guests congratulations to aala High School's color guard for their incredible performance and for earning the title of 2024 Scholastic openclass world champions good luck to both aala and Chino Hill's drum line as they compete in the WGI World tournament this week in Dayton Ohio to defend their

world champion and runnerup titles respectively chuno High School recently receive recently had their Silver Spur ceremony in which they recognized many of the outstanding students on their Campus chuno Hills High School is looking forward to their spring Sports rally tomorrow and Don Lugo High School was recently honored with the outstanding leadership program award by Castle the California Association of

student leaders making it their 28th consecutive year winning the award thank you aome thank you Chloe next up we have comments from our employee Representatives Miss Walker good evening president Shaw board members superintendent Enfield cabinet and Community thank you to Solutions tree and the district for recognizing the work that members do to ensure Student Success every educator Works tirelessly

by collaborating to meet student needs we appreciate the acknowledgement next I would like to publicly thank the school Community for the outpouring of support for our members during negotiations we did come to an agreement with the district and our members are in the process of voting whether to ratify the agreement or not if the agreement is ratified we hope that the school board

votes favorably to approve it one area that the association will continue to need support for is special education there are many areas that we still we feel still need attention just to name a few there's class sizes prep time to prepare for classes collaboration time to fulfill all the duties that go along with being a special at teacher progress

monitoring scheduling IEP meetings completing IEPs and holding IEP meetings the list goes on and on we are hoping that the district will come back to the table next year and negotiating good faith to show respect for the work that special education teachers do our students success depends on it thank you good night thank you Miss Walker um I don't see Mr Hernandez here

CSEA Representative no all right well Emily Lao from champ good evening um vice president ow Schoolboard members Dr anfield cabinet and the Chino Valley Community well I am still beyond happy about being named a model PLC School District the professional Learning Community model stems from a belief that education is not to ensure teachers are students are taught but rather to ensure that

students learn what's being taught traditionally this is what it was like when I was growing up teachers would plan lessons teach the lessons give a test give a grade and then move on to the next chapter with the PLC model giving assessments is just the beginning during plc's teachers then collaborate to determine who's learned the material who

hasn't learned the material and then to plan next steps to ensure student learning this is where all the magic takes place this is where our teachers are phenomenal at working towards making sure that all students are learning this shift from a focus on teaching to a focus on student learning has a profound impact it's why we receive this award

following the PLC model is a commitment from every school employee collectively our superintendents directors administrators teachers and support staff all must work together towards one goal of more students learning more it's a strong courageous ongoing Endeavor that we are so so proud to be a part of so once again congratulations to Chino Valley model PLC School District thank

light means your time is over please refrain from making comments while speakers are at the podium board policy 131 12.1 outlines the procedure for complaints against an employee once the according secretary announces the first name Speaker cards will no longer be accepted and lastly speakers may not approach the dasis any time the board is in session please give any materials you

wish to distribute to the board to the recording secretary first Speaker first we have Claudia Cruz followed by Lisa G followed by Sarah Omari right let me see make sure it's close enough oops can I disconnect something time oh yes yes hello they're right over there they're over there hello all right we're ready okay good evening board cabinet and attending community

members my name is Claudia Cruz I am a special ed teacher at Magnolia Junior High instead of working conditions becoming Equitable and improving for secondary special education teachers they are being set up to get worse on April 6th Canyon Hills junior high Administration informed their special ed teachers that our special ed director shy MC renold sent a message that Junior

highs cannot have a conference period and prep period April 8th I reached out to the school board about Miss MC Reynold's directive with no followup or response April 10th Town Junior High adaman informs their sped teachers that Joe Durkin from Human Resources is removing all Junior High and high school conference periods to make things Equitable April 15th Miss MC reyolds

meets with our Union president Brenda Walker and denies giving the directive to take away conference periods from secondary schools our Union president clarifies that the decision to keep the conference period is determined by each site administrator do you hear the dysfunction in the time line we are shown and told time and time again the district doesn't care about special ed

teachers and that this is what we signed up for and everyone is just pointing fingers and passing the buck at the expense of our specialed students and staff meanwhile we are still left with having to do more work with less time for instance this graph here it's a CDE audit paperwork that requires us to document student service minutes for two

months in this paperwork we must document when students are absent when special ed and collab Jena teachers are absent and when our par professionals are absent as case managers we don't have access to that information this should be the district directors giving the information to to California Department of Education a conference period would help with a growing amount

of paperwork we are asked to do in addition to IEP meetings case load management documentation and reports a special that task force force is not going to alleviate any of this right now give all secondary schools the additional conference period we've always always had and deserve my understanding is the school board has the authority to direct the district to

make changes I implore you to direct our superintendent the director of special ed secondary administrators HR personnel and whoever else needs a directive to reinstate the conference period across all second secondary schools immediately if nothing changes students will receive their services will not receive their services with Fidelity and IEP paperwork will continue to be at risk of being out

compliance which leads to more lawsuits and loss of money that could be better utilized for students and services in the classroom for our special needs students we cannot continue to lose highly qualified sped teachers and always have vacant special ed positions sped teachers will continue to go on stress leave and our sped students will continue to get instruction from

uncredentialed Taken thank you thank you followed by Sarah Mari followed by Marjorie L Melvin good evening it's no secret this board majority is intent on limiting dissenting voices as much as possible since they've reduced the time each member of this community has to speak on issues from 3 minutes to one or two minutes depending on how many speakers

submit cards this is the board's choice because you don't want to hear our criticism you could allow us our full full three minutes but board president Shaw has deemed it more important to end the meetings early than to listen to her constituents do you know how long it takes for speakers to prepare speeches of one two and three minutes because

they have no idea how much time that they will be allowed at the podium and how difficult it is to make your point in 60 seconds at the last meeting I noted that there were 43 speaker cards submitted the one minute speeches took up a grand total of 50 minutes however when it was the board's turn to speak at

the end of the meeting the five of you managed to eat up 30 minutes which was primarily to angrily lecture and schold community members teachers and students who had spoken passionately about such issues as teacher pay and the lack of outrage over the stop groomer sign that was pointed at speakers at the previous meeting Mr Cruz babbled incoherently for

a solid five minutes about the end of times for 8 minutes Mr n scolded speakers and insisted the people who said on this board don't deserve criticism Mr Monroe spoke for five minutes about how much he knows about the teaching profession from having been an SRO and M sha screamed for a full eight minutes about how only she had the

right to scream at the board before she ran for school board because only she cares about kids of course this is just a breakdown of the last meeting when I think of all the time wasted over the years by Mr Cruz in particular spreading dangerous disinformation about vaccines defending Adolf Hitler reading Bible passages calling community members grotesque birds and putting on his

ridiculous Mr Rogers routine to distribute books he can barely read well it would be almost comical if it wasn't so infuriating so I come to you with an idea to make things more Equitable why doesn't this board impose a time limit on its own Communications at the end of the meeting maybe 3 minutes each and ask board members to stick to matters of

business instead of wasting our time by congratulating yourself for attending events talking about how you are appointed by God and attacking the community you were elected to serve that way perhaps the community members you were elected to listen to can have more than 60 seconds to share their ideas and concerns this just might help you earn some of the

respect from the community that you so desperately seek thank you next Sarah Omari followed by Marjorie L Melvin followed by Judith [Applause] eart all right good evening uh first I want to begin by acknowledging that April is Autism Awareness Month with one in 36 children being impacted by autism it is important to bring awareness to the importance of accepting

neurodiversity by embracing differences and creating safe inclusive environments for all children speaking of safe spaces I was able to tour the wellness center at epland high school campus last week my heart was warmed as I heard from current students about the positive impact their Wellness Center and its support staff had both had on both their academic and mental well-being my heart

then dropped to my stomach when I remembered that these centers are the very spaces that this board majority wants taken away from students in my own backyard the director of student Support Services shared about how both the uping community and District leadership supported the wellness centers and what they stood for supporting the whole student realizing that experiences at

home don't dissolve when a student enters the classroom and acknowledging that a student cannot learn if they are not physically or mentally well he also sh shared that the wellness centers require resources some that can be obtained from the community and some that require District leadership to Al at VI it lcap funds public grants or other Public Funding and that's the

problem in Chino Valley we have a community ready to support the whole student but we lack District leadership willing to acknowledge what it takes to actually educate a child instead we have leadership that does not know how to be good stewards of public funds instead we have leadership that would rather increase legal fees by 69% over $200,000

from a year prior on pushing policies that have had no positive impact on educational outcomes instead we have a leadership who would rather render $5,000 to Ontario Police Department to police a school board meeting at woodrest Junior High instead of considering how to promote a positive school and board meeting culture instead we have leadership that prefers to wake

public resources on defending her personal campaigned social media account at the Das rather than discuss how to decrease expulsion rates and find a solution to improving the feelings of connectedness among High School Upper upper classmen which stands at a dismal 33% if you disaggregated those averages that were shared earlier it would show that instead we have leadership that

chooses to be in Nashville today allegedly promoting her extreme political agenda instead of prioritizing her responsibilities as board president in this community in essence we have a leadership issue in Chino Valley and a set of board members that are completely lost about how to be good stewards of public funds and because of this we have a student body that is stripped of

opportunities to maximize their physical academic and mental well-being unlike the wellness center at Upland High School China Val is an example of what not to do next margerie L Melvin followed by Judith eer followed by Amanda Swagger good evening my name is marjerie Melvin I'd like to make it clear that I'm speaking in my individual capacity and not as my in my position as an an

administ ative judge uh to the board members to the audience to parents um I'd like to say thank you for getting me out of my bed and getting me activated um what I plan to speak on I am going to shift I'd like to speak on this in February of this year I formed What's called the African-American parents of

Chino Hills and Leah fellows yes write that down we are here because I have observed as a parent um the the um I reviewed your report the Chino Hills uh self-study report March 2024 and I reviewed the county report that was filed and the overall summary that I got from the report is that there are outcomes for black children that are

disproportionate to that of others in the areas of of of AP class uh enrollment uh dual enrollment experiences um the uh suspension and explosion rate are higher than that of others um I attended a meeting at 700 a.m. uh uh noticed on a Friday uh that was scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at Chino Hills High School and attempted to offer my thoughts on

that report um I asked the person I believe her name was uh Vivian a vivine Gentry to hold off on making any final report until my organization and other parents can chime in and offer our uh thoughts on that report specifically I am a part of a group of parents who are very uh esteemed and able to provide

services and training and cultural experiences to Chino Hills High School and other districts and um excuse me this District in particular as a former Chino UniFi School District teacher walnet Valley Unified School District teacher professor and judge we are here we are able and ready to offer services so those outcomes are changed um I'll be back at Future meetings because I think

my participation is important my visibility is important to ensure that requests for proposals and I know I'm going in a different area are are transparent and that people and and and companies are offered an opportunity to provide services and we not just choose one company that we are familiar with and I will end on that thank you for

giving me the opportunity to speak and I will be be I will be back next jth eer followed by Amanda Swagger followed by Len Beckman good evening I'm Judith eert and I am a teacher and I have also come here as a grandparent um but my purpose and my message today is in regards to research that I have been

doing I have a master's degree in special education and I have a regular Ed credential um I am certified both in California and Alaska and I come to you from Homer Alaska the reason why I'm here is to present some information that you may not have and the research that I have uncovered there's two things that you

all need to remember the first thing is Brain Balance Therapy the second thing is the issue with what the pixels are doing to our children and their brains uh I had um started teaching in 2000 and I I went to Alaska and I've taught in the bush I've taught inner city I've taught in boy toown I've been

all over this nation and I've seen the same issues in every school district and that brings me to the solution the problem is with the pixels is that what it does if they just if you read the book glow kids all the research has been done we're talking Harvard CDC NIH and also um the Pentagon have done the

research and what happens is when the children are in front of a screen they end up having the left side of their brain strengthen the right side of their brain because if they're young the placidity of their brain the right side of their brain does not developed correctly so any teacher any parent we all have seen it what is going on about

2008 the Kinders seemed like they all had ad ADHD well guess what they do and the reason why this is happening is because the right side of the brain and the hippocampus is not developing correctly the right side of the brain has an issue and that is if it's not developing correctly then the children are losing their ability have critical

thinking planning imagination I could go on anything to do with Hands-On learning needs to happen Okay the solution is that I would like to come back and give you more information I'm actually doing a study thank you that's your time thank you thank you next Amanda swager followed by Len Beckman followed by George L Almos interesting good evening Dr infield

cabinet board and those in the audience a few days ago I was brought to my attention by one of our custodial staff that they were were voting on The CSAA tenative agreement that evening just about 24 hours later that same Calli came with a smile on his face saying they ratified the tentative agreement today I wanted to spread some

positivity about some of our amazing classified staff that work in our district classified staff often get put under the rug because they don't necessarily directly work with our students but that's not always true our classified staff do jobs that we could not do as teachers but that make our campus and our district run our custodial staff keeps our campus clean

and safe for all that are going to be there but also our security staff do an amazing job keeping us safe and also helping the schools run at their best our custodial our secretaries and our front office staff are the front lines for parents and provide a positive influence on those individuals who come in for various reasons whether it be a

meeting with our administrative staff meeting with our counseling staff or even just to check their student out for the day but finally I wanted to mention my instructional AIDs that help me with my freshman transition classes each day I don't know what I would do with a large amount of special education students that we serve every day in my classes

without the aid of our amazing amazing instructional AIDS not only do they assist the students and help with classroom structure but they also make it influence to everyone they work with throughout the day I don't know what we would do as a district without the support of our csca members and I think the board and everyone in the District

administration for helping them actually get their tenative agreement and a raise they surely deserve thank you for your time have a great evening next Len Beckman followed by George lus followed by Glory chiarelli there we go board School Board again Dr Enfield as well as Chloe I just want to say thank you uh I want to dove

with a Mana real brief she's got on her shirt that says educators are very important but I'll tell you this much we're all needed in in this opportunity of bringing our young people into the later into their lives in good ways but um we do need to start to do more walk you know there's a a picture of somebody

who said it's time to make Schoolboard meetings what boring again well that could happen but not not near turn but let's walk them on each other's steps let's take a make exceptions to each other part of our day you know and I think sometimes and I hope um none of you this may sound weird but none of you

have had sex organs removed I don't think you have you need to be educators not sex change experts we need to treat our kids with kindness and acceptance no matter their appearances and talent levels but I truly am a transparent may not seem that way but in high school in excruciating pain I found out what it means I lost a testicle disease a

testicle the surgery but it did not lose the essentiality of being a man just like you don't want to lose the sensuality of being a woman you cut off Parts you stuff a teen with Frankenstein drugs changes nothing she or he are still the God created you know her or him and my friend Tony Mendes he was

born with no arms or hands plays a mean guitar with his toes and has known the world over he's still essentially a good man so is Nick vujisic no arms or legs some of you may have seen that but public education will favors too often this gender disys fo you I'm not knocking that I'm just saying but not

the male and female kids who need to be nursed not remanufactured my biggest question is for all of us to start and dwell on this why do you all want to spay our daughters like they are three-legged junkyard dogs and I'll repeat that why do you all want to spay our daughters like they are three-legged Junkyard Dogs you're adults you know how

to speak up when you know something is real and right these precious teens once they realize their mutilated units trapped in ravaged bodies become suicidal don't you adults realize that someday our child and your mutilated student will yearn to find find the right guy get married have kids while the sex surgeons grow all dying buried you know spending their money she'll

realize her ripped out womb a ravaged vagina will not support pregnancy and her flat severed breast will never nurse the kid she never had despair leads to depression than death by Suicide we don't need this we need to speak truth to our kids the big winner of the demon doctors who prayed on her Parts at gender Annihilation care clinics they

already cash I know what sex organ pain is for the record with one testicle I had 11 kids now they have 12 degrees three Masters one's a Headmaster 22 grandkids including four adopted Fosters 40 Years of homeschooling while working for three decades with public educated public education kids thank you that's your time thank you next George L Almos

followed by gloryia Chelli followed by Jaclyn Cortez hello my name is georgeos I'm the father of Julius 7th grade and Jules in third grade they both attend calero Julius has attended there since first grade and my daughter's in has in 10 there since kindergarten I'm here to voice my concern over the new school lines that have been drawn for my children that and

that would force them to attend Legacy Academy my son Julius has attended Calo since 2018 since we moved here toino from Fort Brag North Carolina currently still on active duty in the middle of deployment my son Julius came here with the the DOA IEP he is diagnosed with autism and has a 101 Aid with him daily Julius is going

to enter his e8th grade year in the next few weeks under these new school lines Julius would be forced to change schools for 8th grade and once again for high school I'm concerned for my child with special needs as would start to regress with two major School changes in such a short period of time I spoke with Johnson director of

student support services and the conversation was met with negative results at The Stance her decision was only driven by what side of the line I live on and where my children live not taking to my account that my child has special needs with one with an i I understand that the uh school has capacity issues sorry still understand why my sonone

special needs is being forced to move schools and it comes to my son he gets super emotional my concern is that they would start to regress ESP with autism that's all the progress he's made when I was at Fort Brag in the Army W Lampa I got my son back talks 108 he's happy he's in a regular

classroom my concern is that with the new school allines they're going to force him to go to new school Under 8th grade and once again to high school and I don't want I don't want him to see regression in him thank you next story took aell followed by Jackson [Applause] Cortez I want to start by first addressing the many comments I've

received from various members on social media and in person saying that people are sick of hearing me constantly talking about race because it accomplishes nothing first not only will I continue to talk about race racism and how it affects the black community in this District but I'm also going to ask my husband and others next time to do

the same another comment that I get quite a bit is that I'm causing division in the district with my Pro black anti-racism advocacy to that I say good the people that tell me that the people that tell me that support candidates like Nick Wilson who said diversity is little more than race pimping and pastors like hibs who think certain

people should be more grateful literally certain people should be more grateful to others for the freedoms that were fought for on the Civil War battlefield if people like that feel uncomfortable and divided with what I have to say good divide yourself right on out of this District expeditiously lastly as someone with a history degree and as an anti-racism

activist I am sick and tired of the misinformation and incorrect rhetoric surrounding the comparison of the teachings of calll marks to CRT Dei and unwhitewashed African-American history so to that to that end please refer to the following truths for for your reference Carl Marx was living in a time when extreme capitalism and classism was literally costing lives every day as a

result he researched how to achieve economic and class equity for all his folly was in thinking that economic equality and um class equality can and should come from the government as it relates to African-American studies CRT and Dei I feel the need to point out that those schools of thought seek to do none of what Carl Marx originally um

taught they a are meant to teach about what happens when there is a complete lack of equity of any kind not just economic or social and B that equity and Justice cannot and will not be handed to you by the government until you get in their face and demand it I would go into more detail but I only have three

minutes and really just wanted to make clear that if you are still perpetuating the rhetoric that Marxism and anything seemingly Pro black are the same you are doing so from a place of misinformation deficient education and bigotry oh and to miss shw I noticed that you translated some of your propaganda videos into Spanish can we get those translations for these

meetings as well or is that just for you and your social media rhetoric thank you next jacine Cortez final [Applause] speaker leave our kids are alone protect our kids how fitting that it says our and not all because it's death definitely not about all kids if it was you wouldn't be targeting trans kids speaking of targeting trans kids Miss

Shaw why are you in Tennessee with moms for Liberty instead of in Chino serving the community you are unfort unfortunately representing you better not try to nickel and dime the district for this trip you scream bully and cry your fake tears over supposed harm brought on by kids being outside in the rain during covid imagine if you put

that energy into real issues like school shootings drugs fights bully clean mental health and more support for sped staff Your Puppet Masters don't care about those things so neither do you teachers have run out of supplies like paper at various times during this school year so they are forced to dig into their Deep Pockets and pay for

supplies or have chaos we only get reimbursed for 250 Mr Monroe classrooms function because of us and while Mr Monroe offered to come see what I do unless you come home with me and watch me ride an IEP while also taking care of my family you will never truly understand instead you said We complain and we're not good teachers if

we don't work extra you'll blame us for not liking where we work although we love where we work we are just asking for better working conditions especially special education staff you all hold us to a higher morality but not a higher salary you allowed for a group of men to hold a groomer sign and point it at us

which Mr Monroe did take accountability for because he admitted he should have said something so I appreciate that but Miss Shaw tried to throw Mr Bridge under the bus when she said that he oh but when she was probably the one who took the picture of them bad you even post with them after and so did Mr not you

can't claim you don't know who they are enough of you bringing this circus of dangerous people to our meetings speaking of the circus Mr Cruz it's time to vote you out you have called the audience big disgusting grotesque birds and nonhuman demonics and for a while you were acting like the Dollar Tree version of Mr Rogers you talked about

fire crotches you did a strip teas to YMCA you said Hitler was not bad and I need a whole speech on just you and speaking of Nazis Miss Sha one of the men that you said you are a team with on video said he is worse than Nazis so what does that say about you you can't say you don't know them when

we have receipts proof timeline screenshots you know them and you've teamed up with them vote these people out November is just around the corner let's make Schoolboard meetings boring again and run the circus out of thank you that's your time [Applause] we are now at changes and deletions there are none we are now at consent are there any

speakers on consent items yes we do on item 2 A1 Sarah Omari good evening again um as I've expressed that past board meetings I'm concerned about this board passing the minutes without conditional approval as once again the March 21st board meeting minutes appear to have been haphazardly thrown together without regard for consistency or accuracy first I do want

to give kudos where credit is due and acknowledge that the recording secretary has improved upon how they capture public comments since I SPO first spoke out about the minutes a few months back by using neutral propositions to describe the topic topics of discussion thank you for heeding to a community member's feedback however past that I find myself disappointed by how the

minutes reflect poorly on the CVUSD first these most me recent minutes lack a recording of the preferential or student vote on past meetings there's been an inconsistency about recording the preferential vote but to have it completely absent that's a major oversight who is reviewing these minutes before they make it to the board packet was this sloppily left out or does the

pattern point to a complete disregard for lifting up the student voice secondly there appears to be no consistency in nomenclature or structure a comparison of the March 2 21st minutes to past ones I found that sometimes the recording secretary organizes the non-agenda comments in chronological order other times by topics and in these specific minutes a combination of both

in Mr Cruz's comments in the communication section the recording secretary is inconsistent with how they refer to miss sha bouncing between first name last name and the title does this board not care about standardizing processes or do they just go with how they're feeling in the moment speaking of feelings there were a handful of disappointing and hot mic moments at the

last board meeting not captured in the minutes Mr na you were captured saying quote that kid so disrespectful after a recent Alum spoke up who did not speak out of line or with inappropriate language Mr n do you always mix up someone disagreeing with your Viewpoint as disrespect another hot mic moment was you sighing about these people of which

Mr Cruz you alluded to taking care of it what does that even mean who are these people is it just community members that disagree with you along the lines of omission missing from the minutes was an individual from the de taking responsibility for the photo of the groomer sign that made its way out to the public it was clearly taken from the

vantage point of someone at the de anyone going to actually put the concept of transparency into action if there's nothing to hide Pony up and own it say who took it to conclude I urge you to approve the minutes with conditions to add back the preferential vote and clean up the inconsistencies I also urge this board to practice what you preach and

act transparently and respectfully instead of just talking about it and preaching at others thank [Applause] you all right board members do you have any polls Mr Bridge no polls Mr Cruz no polls Miss sha no polls and I have no polls uh that being can I get a motion for consent items so moved Mr Bridge can I

being present uh we are now on to information items are there any requests to speak from the public there are none board members any comments questions all right seeing none we are on to Communications Mr Bridge thank you um very quickly uh couple uh things that I attended as leison from uh from this board I attended the Bal Bal viw Ro all day

special meeting of the commission to review uh the RP vision and mission statement core values strategic goals very productive day uh led by ROP superintendent Dr Shelley Adams also along with that this past Monday uh I attended Ed the baly viw Roop Student Success award ceremony held at Upland High School uh was very pleased to see we had 77

students from our district high schools that were recognized with uh uh with Awards and additional seven uh who received scholarship and service award honor uh honors at this ceremony was a very nice event uh last night I attended the uh Chino Hills Parks and Recreation Commission meeting as the ex IO U member uh from this board and uh was pleased to

get a report on the uh teen Advisory Board which the uh uh City and the Parks and Recreation Commission has started last year Khloe has been a a part of that uh I look forward we received just an outstanding report of what they've done the last uh this last year and I look forward to hopefully having a

presentation uh by the board uh members the leaders of that and their adviser at a future meeting and uh lastly uh two quick things I attended the cattle DARE graduation I know there were other graduations going on as well for D and I'm glad to see that program back in the dist the district and lastly uh this

week was public school volunteer week and I certainly want to add my congratulations and thank all our wonderful volunteers for what you do in this District uh besides uh our employees so thank thank you all and that concludes my comments thank you Mr Bridge Mr Cruz yes um George lope almost we we have to follow follow up with georgeos with his

son I'm very proud immediately you remind me of my dad that's what my dad would have done so it was really impressive to see that George amazing good job good job um yesterday I I I attended to reach for the stars art show 209 kids show showed up and and there was one student named Benny and Benny I think he was a

sixth grader and he was such an announcer it was amazing but um this is the fourth annual and it's getting bigger and bigger it was at chaffy um Auditorium so it was it was fantastic it was wonderful I really enjoyed it thank you Dr enfeld and then last year um we were um um somebody commented the person that's in charge he

mentioned that we contributed to the number of people that attended this event and um um I believe they're going to provide us a free Booth to attend and um I just want to show my gratitude because I really love this because this is like a father for me you know fatherson relationship going fishy fishing and all that so I'm I'm going to

address the part this is my dad's um fishing jacket po so fishing pool people so this is the family fish Wildlife Saturday junor 8 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. parking 10 bucks I mean this is such a great deal because last year you know we we we sponsored this and it is great so we you know it's nice to

look at the fishing it it's nice to you know contribute to something that is part of the family and so forth so live entertainment food vendor workshops nature presentation nature walk fund for the whole family it's much more so this is on Saturday June 8th 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. yeah thank you that's it thank you Mr Cruz Mrs

Shaw yes I would like to um extend my deep appreciation for the opportunity to engage in site visits attend award ceremonies and participate in performances alongside our superintendent each week Dr anfield thank you for your dedication um we had our Student Success awards for Bal viw which I'm a commissioner at and it was beautiful to see the students received

the awards in which they have worked so hard for all year long also Cruz Dr Enfield and Dr Adams and I attended the Reach for the Stars music and art ceremony for our special education program and it was absolutely beautiful and I want to thank our staff and teachers for their continued hard work that they put in my gratitude also

extends to our dedicated staff and teachers who consistently prioritize our students education despite the distractions from Sacramento thank you guys tonight's honor for our PLC program is truly remarkable reflecting the ongoing dedication of everyone involved I want to thank you for having the vision Dr Enfield and your staff for continuing it and our teachers for just making sure it's implemented in it and

our Student Success is the reward and I'm so grateful for all of that let's also continue to persevere in our efforts linked arms to provide our children with a quality education together we'll continue to push back and ensure that our families and communities thrive keep up the good fight guys we're making significant progress in our Community is

winning thank you thank you Mr sha Dr anfield I have no comments tonight all right um just uh a couple of things so over the over my break I got to uh had the opportunity to visit a few School sites and it was specifically geared towards what goes on in our sped department and first of all I want to

thank those that actually uh allowed me to tag along in their workday and and shared what they did and their concerns with me and uh how they managed their workload it is it is uh actually overwhelming so tonight I'm going to add my voice to theirs and uh challenge this board and our our staff to come up with some

solutions um it's great that we have in our uh proposed contract the the uh sped committee but it means nothing if we are actually not going into it with real intent to make change um we've shown what we can do when we put forth the effort with the PLC and we're got noted uh we got awarded today for being a model

PLC I would love to see us be a model sped and if we can give that kind of effort into the sped program I think there's some changes that were within our grasp um and you know Dr Enfield I I'd like you to look into um what was said today by by Mrs Cruz with the mixed messages and what we're doing with that

um as far as a a conference period and how we can aid aid in the case load and and actually I mean secondary schools is just I think is just a start but when you get into the primary schools and the SDC teachers I don't know how they teach a regular class and case manage on top of that um Without Really prep period

daily um there has to be some solutions there we have a brilliant group here and um and let's let's lead the charge and and make this a model sped District so I'm I'm going to leave that challenge and I and and I would like maybe personally to meet with you later Dr Enfield and and go over some of that if

you would please yep not a problem thank you and uh with that being said I now adjourn the regular meeting of the school board
