we continue through the year thank you thank you so much next up our comments from our employee Representatives we have stepen Fraser from act hi good evening board members superintendent esteemed colleagues and members of the community I stood here last month expressing the excitement and anticipation that comes with the start of the school year and reiterating the
commitment of associated Chino teachers to working with the district to create an environment where every educator feels valued feels supported and empowered to do their best work this month as we stand here in a brand new district office and boardroom I'm here requesting updates about some of the areas of concerns that the association has brought forth number one what
additional supports have been provided to our educational Specialists I know they're still struggling to accomplish all their duties with limited planning time and now having reduced consistent principles how has this Board address the lack of fundamental supplies like paper in our classrooms what are we doing to ensure Educators all have upto-date and engaging curriculum and what about the academic
freedom to incorporate technology without having to jump through hoops how have we addressed disparities in our district ensuring that our schools are places where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is the norm and then lastly how is the board work to unify our community or have you caused divide I think we need to ask ourselves if truly every decision we make in every policy
we Implement is in service of these goals thank you for your time tonight thank you we now have Danny Hernandez from good evening board president Shaw board members superintendent Dr Enfield and cabinet today I'd like to talk a little bit about PBIS I know we've heard it before but it's great to always remind ourselves about what it is PBIS stands
for positive behavior interventions and supports it's a schoolwide framework that aims to improve school safety student behaviors and overall positive learning environments following the PBIS model students are taught exactly how they are expected to behave while at school when a student chooses to break an expectation staff members take the time to retach the expectation and have students reflect upon their actions PBIS
does include consequences but every effort is made to make the consequence match the behavior for example a student who is running in a hallway may be stopped by a staff member asked what they what they were doing what they should have been doing and then ask to go back and walk properly in the hallway same thing goes on the play playground
very simply students who are playing with playground equipment in an improper way may be asked what they should have been doing and then that equipment might be taken away for a day or two upon return they are to they can reflect upon what they should do or what they're going to continue to do so they're following those
expectations these actions are called tier one actions and they take care of a large large part of our the undesired behaviors at schools the framework also includes tier 2 and then tier three actions that are run by our school counselors with teams of Staff members as you can see the process I very simply um simplified it but it takes a lot of
patience a lot of dedication and a lot of hard work by our staff members which is why I am so very excited and happy and proud at our schools for being continually honored for our PBIS efforts this year all 33 CVS schools have been recognized three schools have earned a gold medal recognition while 33 well 30 schools have earned the highest
recognition of as um receiving the Platinum award so congratulations to everybody that works in CVUSD for hard work in the PBIS system thank you thank you we're now on to comments from the audience on items not on the agenda P how many requests do we have to speak nine requests to speak nine board bylaw 9323 meeting conduct

against the indoctrination of children under the guise of lgbtqia+ we wanted to come to this school board meeting tonight to stand in solidarity with the board members of the Chino Valley Unified School District who are standing in defiance of ab1 1955 otherwise known as the safety act we at gaze against groomers have a message to Governor Gavin Newsome attorney general
Rob Bon superintendent Tony Thurman and the California lgbtq caucus you do not speak for us we stand in solidarity with school boards and parents who clearly see that their rights are being stripped from them and we would like to take the this opportunity to remind legislators and the other 976 school districts in California that when it comes to educating children your
job is to support parents not subvert their authority to the other school districts in our state you are Ground Zero when it comes to the ideological subversion that has taken a foothold in California and in our way of life it shouldn't have to take a gay woman like myself to remind you that ab1 1955 is in direct
contradiction to the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution parents have rights and the majority of gay people are appalled at What's Happening Here in our state when everything is said and done people will remember who told them the truth people will remember who spoke truth to power Chino Valley is not the only School District that can do
this if you're sitting on a school board and this resonates with if you speak up if you're a parent that has questions about the curriculum in your kid's school go to a school board meeting and speak up you can be afraid and be courageous take it from us it's not as scary as it looks this is a critical point in our
history as Californians each stakeholder in public education whether you're a parent whether you're a legislator whether you're a Schoolboard member will have to ask themselves the question do we bend the knee to subversive ideology or do we hold the line to protect children from the physical manifestation of evil ab1 1955 is exactly that and that is the
question that we will leave you with tonight thank you very much thank you the next speaker is Oscar Aila followed by Amanda Swagger followed by Scott Carter please line up at the designated numbers EST good evening board I love his building it's beautiful congratulations you know Chino is moving up you know it's we got the high school
we got this it's beautiful you guys are doing a great job you know so um why is everybody so upset so um I'm going to read a flyer um just before I read it um I want you guys to know that that I appreciate teachers I love teacher my mother was an educator I've always said that before you know she taught
elementary school and when I was born she you know became a full-time mom she had a bunch of kids after so so I want to be we're a flyer um and U this is just something that that I want to pass out I have some here if you want but uh it's called your tax dollars fund the
unions fight against parents did you know years ago it was negotiated that school district would fund a full-time release position for the union president for 2023 2024 school year Brenda Walker the union president earned approximately $181,000 181 100 $181,000 including her salary in 20 additional days the district covered approximately $3,834 all Associated Chino Association act contributed approximately 20% or
$6,000 what the what does the Union uh fund the they what they what do they fight against they fight against removing sexual books the union fights against removing appropriate books from libraries we had that fight last year they also fight parental notification the union is against policies that required schools to inform parents about significant changes affecting their
children the union fights against efforts to keep classrooms free from political agenda often pushing for ideology that that the content that instead of focusing on education the union is against effort to prevent biological boys from using girls locker rooms participating in girl sports teams raising serious concerns about privacy safety and fairness and um you know I have no idea how this was settled you
know but um I'm not sure maybe you guys could educate me give me some information um I'm not sure why it would it would be fair for taxpayers to fund a position right a union president position right but their whole their whole Spiel their whole job is to come against parents I'm a taxpayer right so it seem it's a conflict of interest
to be able to to to fund someone's job that should be probably neutral non-political apolitical they want to call it but for some reason this Union and across California I'm saying we love teachers we love we want you to get paid and all that talk about that later but we we believe in that but I don't think
that we should be funding someone's salary that that their whole existence now is to fight against parents protect children keep classrooms free from porn keep locker rooms away from boys let girls with girls boys with boys uh push back against this anti-parent movement of the States you are a voice please speak to us and if I'm wrong educate me
thank you thank you the next speaker is Amanda Swagger followed by Scott Carter followed by Misty sent disclosure I give to my freshman transition classes on sensitive topics I'm about to speak to something that might be sensitive to many people in 1999 I was a senior in high school and our world was shattered when Callin mind occurred as having a friend there at the
campus I was very aware of the tragedy that occurred in Colorado during that time with the tragic loss of over 20 students since this time we've had many many instances youal the Parkland and many others were tragedies that occurred this past few days another tragedy in Georgia occurred where four four people were lost their lives due to
a person who should never have been on that campus shooting up the school and also injuring countless others the reality of the situation is that many many positive things occurred that prevented the loss of more lives including several students doing something we teach in active shooter training barricading the doors preventing the shooting suspect the murderer now from getting into the
classroom the reality of the situation though is he was still able to kill four innocent souls in the engagement I'm here to ask a question is two times a year active shooter training enough to prepare our students for this threat that could occur is it enough to keep our students safe we're doing a good job now this is much better than it
was when I started teaching almost 18 years ago but the reality is we need more our students today may not know what to do if a shooter came onto our campus and started shooting during lunch passing period or cornered them in a hallway what would they do if they had to fight for their lives there are many
radical extremist ideas including teachers care ing firearms and other methods but the reality is the truth is somewhere in the middle what can we do as a district to get those things in the mind of our students because I want our students to be like those students who are brave enough to lock the SOB out of the room before we could kill them all
think about that this evening as we proceed forward it's a big big problem we're doing a good job at solving it but we can can do much better on a final note I'm proud to say that our Christian Club at Chino had over 120 people visiting our club today whether that was God's work or the heat bringing them in for free pizza I
believe that the reality is that we're doing good things for our students regardless of their religion or race than you the next speaker is Scott Carter followed by Misty s followed by Glory chiarelli uh dear board thank you for your dear board that's sounded odd uh thank you for uh your time I specifically wanted to speak as to uh
social media uh and its use by P members uh Miss Shaw the use of your Instagram account Sonia Shaw 20126 uh you have mentioned multiple times that it is your personal venue for information distribution uh the fact that it says uh 2026 the year that you are reelect that you are to be uh up for reelection uh
the fact that uh almost every uh bit of information on there uh refers to after soccer mom I will admit that was your first one uh everything after that relates to your position on the school board makes it a de facto account that is associated with this group you have done nothing recently except bash the union re uh remind everybody as to their
Janice rights yes those are their rights uh I think it is uh rather uh coincidental that the uh Liberty Justice uh Foundation was the ones that litigated that in the first place and now they're giving us pro bono work uh whether or not this is PR uh quidd proquo is questionable the all I wanted to say is that being in a position of
power for the school board Bo makes it heinous that you are continuously uh trying to undermine the uh the functioning of the um of the association of Chino teachers thank you for your time thank you the next speaker is Misty s followed by Glory chiarelli followed by Lisa G good evening board um Oscar G gave pretty much the speech that I was
going to give so I'm just going to add a few comments onto that um the district has been under a lot of scrutiny uh regarding funds spent on lawsuits and such so a few of us decided to do some research of our own I don't know how many people were aware of what the union president is being paid but I'll just reiterate it in
case you didn't hear Oscar last year Brenda Walker was paid $181,600 which includes placement on a salary schedule and 20 additional days the district covered $3,834 of that so the union contributed 20% paying 36,000 this year Steven Frasier is benefiting 14,763 the union paying 28,000 of that so my question is why are we as taxpayers paying for the union to sue
the district that is paying their salary make it make sense to me I don't understand they are biting the hand that's feeding them so if someone could help me out with that also looking at California law it does appear that it may be potentially illegal for the district to have to Fork out the money for the salary
um the salary could be going to be paid for teachers that we so desperately need that they get up here and complain about needing teachers that's a pretty good salary we could hire another teacher that we need or minimum of giving other teachers a raise why do they need to get so much money to turn around and Sue the
district thank you thank you the next speaker is Glory chiarelli followed by Lisa G followed by Jackie Cortez um I just want to come up here and say two super important things that I noticed throughout this um past week one of them is I've been accused of quote calling anybody I disagree with racist so I just wanted to
get on here and say I don't actually do that I only call the ones that are actually racist racist just to be clear so we're not under any confusion and they can go ahead and whine and and moan about that but I mean come on secondly and this one's super important we all know and our either parents or
aun or whatever so we know that these kids know when they are safe with us we know that they know that already so the targeting of teachers with the safe space cards is insane because you guys know the kids already know who's a safe space they're not going to sit there and confide in a teacher who is so Maga
heavy that their social media screams that they're not confiding in that teacher they're not confiding in anybody that aligns himself with a board that bludgeons them with policy against queer kids and those that love them they those cards in my opinion are for educators to recognize other Educators that are safe for them to confide in because a lot of times these
educators are being disrespected as we've heard here tonight already and they need to know who they can confide in and who they can trust and those postcards are for them at least as a parent looking in that's what it feels like because if they the kids already know who the safe spaces are they're going to go to that they're not
going to confide in the non-safe space and quite frankly it's disgusting that they even need to be have that differentiation in the first place and with my last minute I just want to say I don't understand how you guys are targeting these teachers in the first place when they've been up for like years so why now thank you the next speaker is Lisa G
followed by Jackie CZ followed by Paul Griffin the final speaker we're surprised to learn that our school district sued the state in July over passage of the safety act that's because the decision to Sue was never placed on the board's closed session agenda and reported out to the public in Open Session as required by the brown act the state's open meeting
law thus parents and taxpayers were deprived of their right to know as well as an opportunity to voice their opinion about this risky litigation Instead at the June 20th meeting the board voted to amend its contract with the right-wing Liberty Justice Center giving it authority to represent the district if the state passed the measure that amendment was buried on page 89 of the
consent calendar in quote agreements for contractors consultant Services unquote and never mentioned initiation of a lawsuit if that is not a clear attempt to hide this litigation from the community then I don't know what is my request that the board fixed this egregious violation was rejected at its last meeting one of the reasons was because I missed the 30-day deadline to
file a complaint by a whopping five days you know why I was late because this board hid its decision to Sue from the community so we didn't even find out about it until the lawsuit was filed July 16th I lodged my complaint just 9 days later but since the clock started ticking when you all hid behind closed
doors to do your business that made my complaint late it's Shady business like this that necessitated the passage of the brown act to begin with while I have no doubt I would win this case if I pursued it in court since most regular citizens like me don't have access to millions of taxpayer dollars to pay lawyers like this board does so
recklessly and so often the board will again get away with its misconduct your obligations to comply with the brown act would have been simple you could have re agendized the decision to initiate the litigation and allowed the community to provide input then the board could have subsequently voted to initiate the litigation anyway unfortunately compliance with even simple legal and
ethical obligations seemed to be beyond the capacity of this board every time you falsely attack teachers for quote deception and quote keeping secrets I would encourage you to look in the mirror but I hope this experience serves a as a warning to our community watch this board closely because its lack of transparency and ethics is costing us
hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars which should be going into classrooms instead of to lawyers my sincere hope is that this November we hold the current board members accountable at The Ballot Box thank you thank you Jackie Cortez followed by Paul Griffin the final [Applause] speaker hope everyone had a a lovely Labor Day I know I did except I hope you
didn't dare celebrate a Miss Shaw because Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers as a teacher that is part of a union I am very proud of everything that our Union does for me it protects my work hours so that I can spend time with my family affords me sick time and countless other
Fair working conditions why now would the president of the school board have so much hate towards the teacher Union I find that so weird and simply so embarrassing for you you are obsessed with defunding us though you do not fund us you're obsessed with spreading lies about us by calling us in doct rators and you're obsessed with demonizing our
profession in general by calling us demons groomers and pedophiles yet look at the people you invite to these meetings and Associate yourself with you literally link arms with criminals you say we spread pornography through books yet you were the one reading pornography in front of the student representative along with your friends Karen England and countless others who seem to really
enjoy reading that literature in front of minors and you did nothing to censor them so disgusting tusting gross weird and embarrassing you seem to hate trigger warnings and social justice I mean who hates social justice social justice is a political and philosophical theory that focuses on fairness and equality in a society why do you not want fairness and equity in our schools
we literally have an office of access and equity in this District although you probably were not aware of that since you are too busy stirring the pot everywhere else but actually working for this community two years in and what do you have to show for it the circus you invite lawsuit after lawsuit viral Tik toks of you showing that you do not know
how to be Demir or Mindful and your countless interviews on very weird and questionable fake news sources Miss Shaw are you okay you unravel at the end of every board meeting you seriously need to calm down because you are being too loud and painting our district in a bad light we are constantly on the news and not for the right reasons we have
students in this District that are sleeping in benches and Tents and cars who go home hungry every night you say it is not our job to take care of students and that it is their parents job to raise them but do we just let them starve if they do not have a strong support system the school fills in you
have no idea the day-to- day of what we have to do because you're not really concerned about protecting kids just giving the illusion that you are Paul Griffin thank you good evening uh need to correct uh something that was said in the last meeting it was at the very end where I believe President Shaw asked superintendent Enfield to explain the
case with the prayer uh lawsuit that was eventually dropped so you claimed that the school district would have recovered all of the money if the lawsuit was allowed to go forward the problem with that is one the initial action of that board was unconstitutional to the people of Chino unified voted that board out because they tried to pursue this
lawsuit and three telling the next board who is mandated by the people that if they pursued that lawsuit further they would recover the money from calv Chapel Chino Hills this to me is not a Christian Endeavor this is a political Endeavor and asking us to endure the money that Chino that Calvary Chapel Chino Hills put forward to push their own personal
religious agenda we had to put a stop to it so if anything Calvary Chapel Chino Hills needs to cut that check right now reimburse the school district for that money that we lost because that Rogue board went forward in something we didn't want and until that happens I don't think we can actually respect that the the offer from that
from that church was done in good faith it seems more like it was coercion and the same thing is true now with the lawsuits pending for the transgender rights this board gets flipped and don't be surprised if it doesn't once again the money that we are losing to lawyers that could have been spent in our classrooms if Calvary Chapel Chino Hills
will at least do the honorable thing of cutting another check for that then there might be some some weight and respect to what you're offering but as it stands right now it is empty thank you we're is that it thank you we're we now on to changes and deletions Pat are there any changes or deletions the following changes on the agenda item 3b3
fundraising activities page 36 under Briggs October 25th 2024 fundraiser correct to read Fall Festival there are no further changes or deletions thank you Pat we're now on to action before we start action items I'd be remiss if I didn't correct their erroneous inter interpretation of the preferential vote process made by a speaker at the last board meeting the speaker alleged that
the board has historically violated board bylaw 9150 and education code 35012 regarding the student preferential vote this policy states in part preferential voting is cast before the official of the board the vote of the board as a point of edification the official V vote of the board is one the priding officer declares the motion as either passed or failing the student rep
is in fact afforded the opportunity to cast a vote prior to the board's official vote being announced the protocol we follow has always been correct our board secretary does a darn good job at making sure we do things correctly so please if anybody would like to seek understanding before speaking out of turn and I've heard this multiple times please reach out to our
experienced staff before making incorrect claims trying to throw them under the the bus so with that the first item is 2a1 resolution 2024 2025 D9 opposing the role of school districts as landlord developers and landlord board president Sonia Shaw recommends that the Board of Education adopt a resolution 2024 202- 19 opposing the role of school districts as land developers and landlords Pat are
there any speakers there are two speakers the first speaker is Oscar Aila followed by Amanda Swagger thank you all right okay so um as far as 118 uh one I vote Yes um Lucian opposing the role of school district uh as land developers and landlords um um I don't think uh like I said I love teachers that I appreciate and we should pay them
better right I think they deserve very Penny but I don't think that we should be a district subsidizing housing for them remember you know growing up as a kid we call that living at the projects and when the CATE comes and funds someone's housing it's because they ain't got a job or they Ware or something you know but teachers got a
job and we understand that you can't afford to live in California because for 30 years you've been voting as a Democrat so this what happen when you get somebody in power that taxes the taxes you up the nose you know you can't afford a house and I have children you know that they live at home still they
can't afford to live on their own so so um you know I guess somehow um Thurman said that I guess the the state owns District owns a lot of land so if that's the case why don't you just sell the land and pay them better they could buy their own house right um so U you know we we we know that that that the the
state right now is in a deficit of 30 billion dollar a year minimum you know so uh where that going to come from so we want to give away land uh subsidize it somehow you know pay for that and U we're in a deficit so I don't know I don't know how this makes any sense I think it's it's so it's so vague but I
would say for now no I mean for now vote Yes to not allow that I I think uh uh if the district or the state has a lot of land you sell that land shout out to the teachers I guess you know shout out but but I think as far as us U giving them housing or some kind of uh um some kind
of income for that um I think it's a no you know our our kids uh this is a beautiful building I'm glad that we're finally improving Chino and Chino's uh become more beautiful and I think we should continue to do that let's invest in our communities invest in what we have now instead of trying to make projects somewhere that in the end U
it's not going to work we know that whatever the state tries to build it's always slower it's always more expensive and it's never up to par so I would say uh um I support it thank you thank you the next speaker is Amanda Swagger short here I'm Nei for or against the resolution here there are benefits and negatives on both sides yes
you are correct the district being a landlord is logistical nightmare that can cause grief through our districts bringing greater bureaucracy and great threat to everyone here in the district living in a property designated for teachers can have positive and negative benefits the reality is we don't pay our entrylevel teachers enough money to live in our community here to even rent a SLE
apartment a teacher with a beginning salary under 60,000 can't even afford to rent here in Gino in fact after saving for years for down payment I still can't afford a house in the Chino area as much as I look but the reality is that instead of thinking about building housing which is probably not the best idea why don't we as a district put our
foot forward and help teachers other ways maybe a housing allowance maybe a benefit to assist teachers who are moving to the district perhaps a bonus for new signing on teachers we all know that we're having trouble recruiting teachers in our district so what can we do to help with housing and get teachers here I don't think building housing is
the correct answer but sending this resolution simply saying we don't support teachers housing it's the wrong message for us as a district so again while I'm not for or against the motion I do ask us to think about how we're addressing the housing issue with our staff those who desperately need the most our new teachers who can barely
afford to live here in our community thank you thank [Applause] you may I have a motion thank you Mr NW can I have a second thank you Mr Cruz comments questions discussions I know we're all learning the system any comments questions discussions as we're learning Mr brid okay I think your mic is now it's on on thank um I don't think this district is
ever going to get involved in any type of housing for for teachers but I also don't think it's right that we tell other districts or or the state that may want to get involved in this uh through this resolution I said I I I honestly don't see it happening so I think we're kind of putting the cart before the horse
here because it the resolution says that uh formally opposes any initiative or legislation that mandates so we don't even know what that what that is yet so I I think we're just getting ahead of the system and I think we're going to really believe in local control that we want to do what's best for for Chino uh
we need to let other boards of education do what they want to do thank you thank you Mr Bridge Mr Monroe your mic should be on my mic's on hey all right um yeah I'm kind of torn on this I I think we are jumping ahead of the game but sometimes I think uh we need to do that as they're looking at ways to
attract teachers we all know there's a teacher shortage unfortunately I think that the state has put their energy in the wrong place and looking at school districts of of uh offering this incentive to school district I think they're uh in essence stirring a hornet Hornet's Nest when you look at rental laws in California they are heavily in
favor of those who rent or the tenants and not the landlords and you can imagine the nightmare if you are to uh have a non-re elect of a teacher who refuses to vacate the property and the school board uh carrying those properties for a number uh a number of months or years as it goes through Court as they often do um I I wish we could
actually send up information you know I'm for helping teachers there's this the the thought of giving some incentive of housing is a good thought we did it years ago with law enforcement it was called a cop next door and you got to go in and buy a discounted house in a in AOW income area with a thought that a
law law officer would go in and actually put some money into the house and you had to live in it for so many years before you sold it there was a lot of young officers that took advantage of that it those kind of programs that were run by the state were good programs they had nothing to do with us and uh like
Amanda was saying it was it was giving incentives to the teachers the the newer teachers to come in that they had money for a down payment or could afford that housing I think along the L of that of of state grants given to new teachers in the state of California for a teacher next door so to speak program I think
would be a great idea but I think I think they're uh they're misguided on what they're looking at thank you Mr n yes I would uh agree with a teacher that that state should sell State's asset and and properties and uh give a credit for housing credit for our teachers that needs help and also build more housing for our unhoused
students population we have 1,200 or more students that are seeking a permanent homes today so the state really has have to buckle up and and trying to do their job right this is M their uh campaigning I think just asking each School District to become a landlord or or or developer which is a nonsense so let's stop the buck to have
the Sacramento come out with real solution and fix the problem I would oppose the sacramental a plan because it's not real first we need to put the priority on our unhoused student population so that they would have a safe place to to sleep every night and also our staff members that would have a a place called home so that they could
teach in the daytime without worries State needs to do a better job not just trying to P the buck thank you Mr n um I brought this forward because there's a lot more writing on the wall than I think the public actually is um able to see because they're not obviously exposed to a lot things that some of us are exposed
to and speaking with Dr Enfield and other other people in positions as himself I think it's a little crazy to ask them to be landlords and and also part of the development we've seen with this own very um new District building it it was a lot of involvement on their part and that was a temporary thing but
to become landlords um is just insane and I know that my fellow colleagues brought up a lot of good points but here's the thing Sacramento does things in increments you build the housing you take that property away eventually it's not for teachers anymore it's for other things that is the truth we have a majority in Sacramento that aren't doing
good things they will require by law certain things that none of us want to do none of them want to do but they'll make it law and tie their hands to do it so you have all these districts buying in and you talk about local control we're in lawsuits because we don't have local control but local control with the
state telling us what to do with our property when we should be keeping that property if California is going to grow for schools like ourselves can you imagine if a few years ago we sold the property that we built um some stuff on chino or we built our new skull over there in Legacy that's what's happening this property that's reserved for
students in the future and educational facilities are now being sold you have uh they're proposing an estimated of 2.3 million housing units throughout the state what happens if this fails I mean the the really the ones pocketing is the state and you talk about taxpayer dollars that's all of our dollars we pay for this this isn't coming from local it's coming from all
of us locally into a pot that they're now using this money when we don't even have that money talk about a fair Equity um uh a fair Equity uh model for paying our district again I will say this I've said it over we are one of the lowest paying districts a priority of this board is to get us up there that's why
the teachers got a healthy raise the last time because that's a priority of the board to make it competitive and te give our teachers what they deserve but the reality is we don't get the funding like other districts if you pull the information we're like at the bottom is that correct Dr Enfield I think I remember having you pull it before and
we're one of the very lowest on funding from California yes that's correct that's correct so there you go so how are we supposed to be Equitable to our teachers with paying them if we don't even get the Equitable amount of funding from the state the Brokenness is from the state why would I trust the state to make us now land developers and
then in hopes for what I mean I'm going to tell you Community Schools is a big push they're putting millions and billions billions of dollars into that now they have housing units that they no longer take for the the the teachers who does it become available to I don't know you do the math I'm sorry I I highly
highly oppose this and I get that there's concerns but I do my research I have these conversations I've been with um what's his name Javier Basera who's telling you know board members of California let me in let's put this on the campuses let's put clinics on the campuses these are not people that I'm making up I can't make this stuff up I
sit in those meetings with California Schoolboard members and I see the writing on the wall I'm doing my homework and my homework is to warn the public of what is coming and what's forth front there's a train coming and I'm saying hey guys might want to put some breaks on this and oppose this because maybe the board does flip in
November like some of you wish well at least there's a resolution trying to warn everybody if it does you parents better be aware of what could happen if you have a different board that might change their mind and SE sell some land for that particular reason and then put the burden on our great staff to be landlords and then take the community
school money right now when there isn't very much money so they're taking that into grant you do the math sorry I'm here to sound the alarm and tell the parents and the and the community members there's a problem this is your taxpayer dollars Sacramento is being Reckless they're making laws if you don't like what you do locally they'll
make a law to tie your hands and that is the truth and if you read the resolution I mean I I put it out all on there it's on I mean I could read it for you but it's all there for you it gives you the points that I've um come you know to conclusion on I'm very transparent in
why I do what I do I think it's a waste of money it's a waste of time and I think it's a waste of effort when they have already had been burdened with a lot why make them landlords and developers this is only pocketing other people's pockets and of course the developers are going to jump on it why
wouldn't they that's more work for them so um I guess with that we'll conclude and seeing that there's no I was the last one there's no more discussion uh board members I'll go and press the button and register your vote preferential yes thank you the motion passes with a vote of for to [Applause] one and now I can close it right we're
learning the new system guys um okay so now we have item 282 resolution 2024 202-20 opposing the Community Schools initiative and declaring non-participation board president Sonia Shaw recommends that the Board of Education adopt resolution 2024 202-20 opposing the Community Schools initiative and declaring non-participation Pat are there any speakers there are no speakers thank you Pat may I have a
motion thank you Mr Na and seconded by Mr minro any comments questions discussions board Mr Bridge your mic should be on okay thank you same thing going with this resolution there are already I know we are adamantly opposed to Community Schools I I get that but it's now already happening in in La unified it's happening in all the big Ur urbans
whether it's San Francisco Unified Long Beach and I don't think it is again our right to tell other school boards you can't do this through this resolution because that's what it seems like to me and I don't want other school boards telling us what to do then I don't think we should be uh returning earning that favor so I just wanted to point that out
that it's already happening I don't see it happening here we had a problem with wellness centers as you all know so I just think that uh it you know we don't need to be you know doing it I would rather see us focus on as I've heard many times all the academics and then we heard tonight some
of the uh the active shooter training because of what happened yesterday in Georgia we've got to start making sure that we keep our students safe because that's one of our mantras and I'll give you a quick example that I heard col Bine mentioned in June of 1998 we were driving through on a family vacation through Littleton to my wife's cousin 10 months
before I remarked to my wife I said you know this area really looks a lot like Chino Hills and it does it did not knowing that 10 months later many of you know this the daughter of my wife's cousin was a second student hit still alive today still paralyzed from the waist down still living in the Denver
area but the fact is if it looks like you know an area that looks like Chino Hills it can happen anywhere and I where I'd like to see us put our Focus so with that I'll conclude my remarks thank you Mr Bridge Mr Cruz your mic should be off push it again and do it it one more
time how come it's not letting you on it's not letting you huh okay there you go I just I just want to say something you know real quick and that is you know there was a senate report from ice or DHS about maybe 3 weeks ago stating that you know they they they lost 325,000 kids you know
average age 111 12 it missing you know and um a lot of people say that many of them may be dead human trafficking and all that and and and you know I've been thinking and thinking about this so much because they know they're children and um and when I think about Community Schools it's government and you know
when I see what government's doing I ask myself about Community Schools that that um government has no part they should never be part of of our community schools if they ever happen I I I totally oppose this because because their fruit is is is just not right and I I hope in the future that that they they do they find they find a
way to find these children that are missing so I oppose this I oppose any interference from government government supporting anything when it comes to children and and I hope in the future that parents really pay attention that you know when it comes to government you can't trust government in these times anymore and you cannot trust them to
watch over your children it's just the way it is now so I pose this President and I'm sure happy that we have this thank you thank you Mr Cruz Mr n yes um I think it is important that that we talk about this type of because their agenda is to make us an LA unified or San Francisco Unified we need
to stand up that okay letting them know we are serious about our education and the safety of our children so I think it is very crucial that we get involved beforehand that they would make decision to to push this type of uh initiative to our school district we have a responsibility to protect our students in Chino valy Unified School District
yes I would support our resolution tonight thank you Mr n and Mr Mr Monroe you should be come on you're hot mic's hot so uh yeah I just want to speak real quick to this and and and and really I appreciate um Don's viewpoint on um his concern about for forcing other school districts to go along with this and I I
would just caution like right now they're not forcing anybody to go along with it it's a la UniFi is doing it willfully and I sat in the room with President sha as uh secretary berera was saying I have money let me in he's dying to spend money and in essence that's what La unified is capitalizing on you're going to give us so many funds
fine we're going to let you come into our schools and and develop these Community Schools on the contrary to that that the problem is is that our government doesn't leave it there is they're going to do studies in the next coming years about how wonderful everything is in LA ified and you're going to have some group putting
together an assembly bill in Sacramento saying that every School Board needs to have these in their district and that's exactly what I don't want I don't we're not forcing anybody to not do it if La unified wants to do it have at it don't mandate any other districts to do it if you're truly about local control leave it to local control and you won't
have to deal with anything like this but unfortunately right now that's that's not really the ideology in Sacramento is they're going to justify what they want and then they're going to make an assembly bill that requires it so the only recourse we have at this time is to send resolutions like this saying that we oppose it and don't go
for any further with this have at it if you want a volunteer program have at it there's plenty of districts that will take advantage of that take your money and put it to use however they want don't mandate the rest of us that don't want to turn our schools into these and mandate us to take part in that
program thank you Monroe and you said a lot of what I wanted to say with assembly bills because I said it in the prior one that's what they do they start off an increments they get you to buy it on they package it with the pretty bow and then bam now you're required to do it and I do want to mention this like a
district like ours if we were to take that Grant I'll be totally honest I know our staff does an amazing job at focusing on education they would take that Grant and use it in a way where it wouldn't be twisted and it wouldn't be harmful to parents students and values in our community but com in with a new
board majority then you're going to have a different direction with that money and that is the reality and that's the truth and that's why when I did bring this forward again I am here to bring awareness of what is here what is coming and what could be that's what I wanted as a parent in a board member and that's
what I'm doing as a board member I'm bringing awareness and I'm letting you guys know what is coming what is in front of you what is available to us and what it can be used for and why why should we or should shouldn't we in my own opinion I was elected to do that and represent and that's what I'm doing um
I've been very proactive in trying to give you as much as I can although sacr meno does a lot of crazy things that it's hard to keep up with at times but I do have to say this resolution is very specific just like the other one to our very own District it's saying that we will not take this grant so we won't
participate and don't worry Community we're going to stand strong and focus on education they're dangling the money but we're not going to take it because we're going to do it with we can and continue to educate your kids free from all the noise that Sacramento requires um so I mean I did write a note to the community
in and it was in your board agenda but I'm going to read it because it it does clarify a lot of things um it's from Sonia Shaw the voice for parents and families as the Pres president of Chino Valley Unified School Board of Education my primary responsibilities to represent the voice of parents and families in our community I have always been committed
to ensuring that our schools remain safe for our children a place where they can learn grow and Thrive without being subjected to external political agendas or ideologies that compromise their education and wellbeing sounding the alarm protecting our students from Sacramento's overreach in recent years we've seen a disturbing Trend emerging from Sacramento one where our schools are being targeted by initiatives that
aim to reshape the educational landscape according to political and IDE ideological goals these initiatives including the community school model are being aggressively promoted and funded by the California Department of Education don't say this isn't close to us and it's just La unified we know that just like California is to the rest of the nation La is the rest of us in
California of what could be and a lot of us parents here don't hold the same values of what they're doing over there Riverside just right next door to US 58 new Community Schools this year they are taking the money they are incenting it and people are taking it because look look at how much money we're getting funded from from the funding of our best
friend up in Sacramento Nome it's horrible so when you have money and grants available schools are going to try to take them and use them for the best interest of their Community if Riverside wants that great but a lot of parents don't know that on their own sheet Planned Parenthood is one of the partners that comes in with these
Community Schools that's not made up you can go look it up on Riverside's announcement it's right there plain sights I know our community majority will not be okay with Planned Parenthood coming in as a partner here in Chino Valley and if they are then you know what find a majority that would support Planned Parenthood cuz right now our
majority I can know in my heart wouldn't do that um with that said I I have consistently sounded the alarm on these issues letting parents know so that when they when they see that pretty little package with the pretty little bow they will be aware of what's in that package and avoid it with all cost if they could
as parents and Educators we have a duty to stand up against these initiatives and protect our children from being used as ponds in a broader social experiment that's what Community Schools is and Sacramento when they get a hold of it you will no longer have a board for local control we already see what they do to us they don't like something Chino
does and they make a law and they override what we do that is the truth I can't make that up go look at the headlines search Chino Valley and you'll see how the state continues to put laws in place to stop us what we're doing here locally so we talk about local control and I laugh in the face in sa of
the Sacramento political cartel they don't believe in local control unless you're on board with their agenda including Community Schools they will start off with something pretty and they will turn it into something really gross tesque and it it it's not something our community I know would support the Community Schools initiative is just the latest example of how external agendas
are being pushed into our schools under the guise of supporting students however the reality is far from concerning by allowing clinics on campuses and forming Partnerships with organizations that promote controversial ideologies again breaking up families and the values that we hold here in the Chino Valley I was born and raised here I'm very aware of the majority of our values here and
that's what I'm trying to protect we will risk turning our schools into Battlegrounds for political and social issues that have no place in a child's education I believe that the role of our schools should be a singular singular and clear to provide high quality education that focuses on academic Excellence critical thinking and personal development we must reject any
attempts to co-opt our educational system for other purposes no matter how well-intentioned they may appear to you I'll let you guys read this the rest of it is in the agenda clear just like everything else that I do I'm very clear on what I do I always am very transparent you guys follow my social media apparently so it's all there I I
talk about this all the time um stay vigilant pay attention that's your duty as parents and community members I will do what I can to sound the alarm but the rest is up on you to be able to say yes we oppose or no like bring it in right I mean but right now I don't think our
community majority would ever support what the bigger plan of Community Schools is we've been to many meetings that are for every California Schoolboard member and it's very scary the plan that they want to bring into your very own communities that have a lot of values that those people in Sacramento do not have themselves a lot of them are not even parents and Nome T
sends his school to uh private schools by the way so this wouldn't even affect his kids so just keep that in mind when he makes all these decisions about your kids and forces your kids into these situ sitations his kids are safe in a private school that these laws and these um grants don't even affect uh but with
that said we already no more further discussion Dr enfeld you don't have anything preferential we'll go ahead and take a vote preferential yes thank you board you can start your vote now or that gets rid of that okay so the motion passes with a vote of 4 to one that concludes action items what I do three to
one oh okay sorry oh I'm on I missed one sorry guys 2b1 2023 20 24 on audited actuals financial report recommend that the Board of Education approve the 2023 2024 on added actuals financials report and authorize the superintendent or the designity to sign the 2023 2024 District certification of oned on audited actuals financial report Pat are there any
speakers there are no speakers thank you Pat may I have a motion thank you Mr crew seconded by Mr naw any comments questions discussions from the board seeing that there is nothing further board members I will ask you to register your oh what do you want me to wait did he have something oh you want to say okay he
wants to say something to do you want me to let him talk go ahead Mr Chris M CH I just want to let you know that you know under your leadership we've had 23 positive Financial audits since 2013 so thank you thank you we're going to go ahead and wait for Mr Bridge okay okay board members you could take
your vote preferential yes thank you and the motion passes with the vote of five to zero that concludes action items we are now on to consent Pat are there any speakers on consent items one request to speak Debbie Woolery thank which Miss Willer I didn't want to speak on this one I hit the wrong button so sorry what is it oh you don't want to no
no on on your new system I hit the wrong button oh okay it's okay no worries don't worry we're all learning this new system okay so we have no speakers um board members do you have any polls would they just register here if you have any polls just register in the system okay seeing no polls may I have a
motion thank you Mr Cruz and seconded by Mr Monroe board members please register your vote preferential yes thank you and the motion passes with a vote of five to zero I did it I didn't close it do you want me to go back up okay can you guys just revote really quick again we're missing one more chuz did
you Mr n Mr n can you just register one more time please okay the motion passes with a vote of five to zero that was weird and see if does it yeah okay okay we're now on to item four information we're are Pat are there any speakers from the public to speak on information items um hold on one
second doesn't look like it no no I don't see any okay I don't see it I don't see it was okay but where's the where's the tab for information there's sever requests to speak on information items thank you Pat are they now there we go the first speaker is Scott Carter followed by Debbie willery followed by Glory chiarelli
the registration system really should say which information item want to speak about correct okay yeah can you just identify which item number you're going to be speaking on uh yes this would be the uh no deception okay whichever number that is uh I wanted to bring up the fact that the uh no deception resolution uh while in its uh intent is
probably uh uh uh rather honorable the general uh the wording of it has no reflection as to um what standard it would be held to uh what repercussions would occur to a teacher for uh violating this who would choose who would be the person to decide if something pertinent was omitted um falsehoods of course are uh uh not
appropriate in any uh parental interaction but but um the concept of uh uh omitting items due to poor memory or the interpretation that it's not pertinent to the discussion uh is too open-ended right the uh now that is at the uh positive end of the spectrum at the negative end of the spectrum it can be seen as a workaround for the no Ting
policy where we are expected to as a point of Mental Health mention if their child is uh switching pronouns for that matter it does not uh it is so open-ended that it could simply be uh did you know Johnny was gay it is very um imprecise in the way that it's uh described uh to me it comes
across as uh somewhat similar to the um uh the community U uh schools in that it is an empty statement that has no real purpose okay uh that's my two cents thank you the next speaker is Debbie Woolery followed by Gloria chiarelli followed by Jackie Cortez a no deception policy how interesting it seems vague and open to
interpretation does this only apply to teachers or all of CV CVUSD members employees including the board members it would be nice if they listed only truth on their social media and not lies the next speaker is Glory Chelli followed by Jackie Cortez followed by Paul Griffin I'm going to be speaking on the no deception policy the thing that makes the events
in Georgia so tragic besides a terrible loss of life is the fact that those kids would still be alive and those and those um kids that would not have gone through that trauma of living through a school shooting again as described by them on social media if the district that knew about the danger that the killer posed
took the appropriate appropriate action it was so unbelievable that the district knew I had to Google the validity of that for close to an hour before I finally realized it was true I was in I was he was interviewed for threats against his school a whole year prior and the District did nothing they all knew everyone who could have done
something knew but you know who didn't the parents and the Educators task with raising and educating these kids you claim to want to protect why am I bringing this up cuz I am genuinely worried that you guys will continue to ignore threats like this because they do not align with your war on queer kids and those that support them you already
have teachers in this District that say the nword and get to keep their job you already allow school counselors and vice principles not to be required to take written reports when complaints against Bullies Are Made to them thus opening the door to denial that a complaint was made in the first place I am scared as a mother I already
have to deal with pervasive and seemingly endless antiblackness that leaves long lasting scars to kids like mine why do now have to be afraid that you will ignore threats because they do not fit your anti-c career agenda so please stop using policies like this one as a budgeon against queer kids and those who support them but instead use
them for how they are intended to protect all kids whether they look and act like you or not and one last thing being obsessed with parents rights to be notified of a kid's gender identity and sexual expression but not when there is problematic staff and faculty or legitimate threats to protected classes is darn near psychotic I get that most
of what you speak about what I speak about doesn't affect you but as we have seen this week if we are not careful about who we allow to make decisions for our kids eventually it absolutely will thank you Jackie CZ followed by Paul Griffin I'm speaking on the no deception the name of this board resolution alone is wrong for so many reasons why are you
implying that deception is happening now this resolution is so vague and poorly written and opens up to basically a free-for-all Witch Hunt first of all who is the staff mentioned in the resolution it doesn't specify this district has sent IEPs with personal information to the wrong homes but yet you're pointing the finger at us deception is exactly
the intention of the board president in bringing forward this resolution she continues to paint the public school system as deceiving yet she's the one approving lawsuits through closed doors and gambling with your children's money no deception but yet miss sha can't even keep the spelling of her first name consistent someone who has more skeletons in her closet than the
Cemetary should not be talking about deception Miss Shaw has no problem deceiving the public by posting a video of herself speaking Spanish yet she does not actually speak Spanish she used AI but never clarified so some very gullible people did believe her as one of the comments said hey Sonia I did not know you could speak Spanish she can't
also at the last meeting she shared a story about a girl being dress coded for having a Bible burst on her keychain a story so unbelievable because it most likely did not happen but yet she shared it in an effort to continue to attempt to demonize school staff Mr naw you have continuously supported Miss Shaw in her
ridiculous board resolutions it is an election year your vote will let the public know if you continue to be a part of the circus or if you will actually stand for common sense because this resolution does not make sense Mr Monroe you have been middle of the road in the past when it comes to miss Cha's resolutions read through this and pay
attention to the vagueness of it and you should be asking yourself all of the questions we are I hope you vote no I'm not even wasting my breath on Mr Cruz you're a lost cause Mr Bridge thank you for being the sole voice of reason a majority of the time despite Miss shot's harassment a you and if we are
discussing transparency then why are there less Schoolboard meetings this year so you give yourselves a race and you work less makes no sense less board meetings means less opportunities to approve fundraising and field trips why continue to distract from real issues with this Ridiculousness enough of the distractions let's flip this board so that every single one of Miss Shaw's
resolutions go away Miss Cortez do you want to speak on another one as well are you speaking on another information I don't care so Paul Griffin followed by Jackie Cortez followed by Daniel Spelman so I'm speaking on the no deception policy so the wording on here as others have said is poor so let's look at the ramifications of if we pass this what
this could do so this could do anything from absolutely nothing to Absolute chaos so let's look at the chaos version First so if I have to as a teacher information comes to me like a student comes up to me and says my father is abusing me you can fill in the blanks of the type of abuse first thing
I'm going to do is call CPS because that is what I'm mandated to do the next thing I'm going to do is call the police and then I look at this board resolution and now I have to call the father because I have to notify him because this has to De with his health and safety now obviously this would be
catastrophic so if we're not going to take it seriously then it does absolutely nothing this is empty Cal political speech to let those who support this anti-queer anti- Jesus because Jesus loves people doesn't hate them this kind of anti policy is what is trying to be pushed forward but it doesn't do anything it doesn't mean anything but it
makes all the supporters feel like oh you're doing something but you're not doing anything it's just empty unless you are intent on allowing this type of chaos to come into our schools so I urge you all just vote no on this come up with something that makes more sense more precise more legally levelheaded but definitely say no to this thank you
Jackie Cortez followed by Daniel [Applause] 4d1 uh this information item States Gifts of travel and related lodging and subsistence shall be subject to the current gift limitation except when government code 89506 the travel is in connection with a speech given by a board member or designated employee providing the lodging and subsistance expenses are limited to the day immediately preceding
the day of and the day immediately following the speech and the travel is within the United States this screams of you Miss Shaw you are the one board member constantly going on trips that say where you say you are connected to the school board you go from Sacramento to Tennessee to Washington since you could not nickel and dime the district
for your travel expenses now you're trying to get someone else to cover your trips on their dime you have been quoted as saying on a podcast that you're broke from a board member because of the trips you have gone on well in case you weren't aware Miss Shaw you're a local politician you seem to give yourself this air of grander as if you're waging
a war with Sacramento and DC and if you want to do that go ahead resign as school board president and your time is yours to do as you please but while you are School Board president you should be remaining in the area of which you are serving and that is Chino Chino Hills and Ontario the speeches you have given
are not of any benefit to our community you are the Mistress of of deception making up issues that are not what we should be focusing on you say we need to go back to math reading and writing well as a math teacher I'm telling you that has always been the focus in my class imagine that math being the focus in a
math class yesterday we were reminded of the horrors that we potentially face in a school setting and you're obsessed with this platform of protecting our kids but I need to remind you that zero kids have died from library books history lessons or Pride Flags you you have waged a war against rainbows when you should be concerned about the safety
of our students and no the board policies you have passed do not concern themselves with the actual safety of our students flags have not impacted the learning of our students a book review policy already existed teachers are not keeping secrets from parents if parents want they can access textbooks and curriculum already my curriculum has not changed to indoctrinate Children you are
a Flatout liar how do you keep up with all your lies Miss Shaw are you aware that in this district there are many students who are homeless and hungry students who get bullied and suffer from mental health issues how could you when you're too busy taking orders from your handlers and line dancing and recording podcasts deal with the real issues in
this community and do your job and live within your means Miss sha and maybe you wouldn't be so broke the final speaker is Daniel Spelman I'm speaking on behalf of the no deception policy thank you um every year as employees we're trained on the proper codes of conduct between staff and between students it's not simply just treat students and treat staff
respectfully we're trained in what are proper codes of conduct what are improper codes of contuct we're shown examples we are shown videos of what is done each year and then we are tested each and every single year this current policy doesn't have any examples whatsoever of what it means by decep and as staff members as employees I'm
only with your students for about maybe 40 or 50 minutes per period so what is deception like say for example if a student decides to change their fashion or try a new outfit is that deception does that go against the values of their parents on how a student should dress if we have things such as you know for my
classroom if a student does a piece on any type of religion whether it be Christianity uh Hinduism or any other aspect is that a secret from parents does that not align with their religious religious belce if a student comes from a big family of artists and they really want to pursue a career in sports is that against parents is that against what
their Viewpoint of their student should be and it's very very weird to figure out which direction we should go with these policies and when we introduce a policy things can't be misconstrued there has to be given points of how we're supposed to pursue right now uh at AA High School we're doing some great things with myself and the rest of the VAP team with
Diana yarb boy with Candace Roman and with uh Kaye couch we are developing so many different things at our school and it's been a super super busy year we're trying to create a new uh uh computer lab we're trying to develop more art programs during school and after school and it takes a lot of time and a lot of
personal time and the big concern that I have is if I'm supposed to report every single Small Change within a student's life that feels like it's a waste of time and it feels like invades a student's privacy and it feels like we're invading on issues of identity and keep in mind since we have a non-discrimination policy it feels weird that we're not
reporting on things that are dealing with inside the classroom whether that be within lessons or actual activities or the students progress or behaviors within the class but now we're reporting on what the student believes what the student feels what the student's interests are and it feels like it's a breach of government going to other people's lives and I don't feel
comfortable with that so if it can be clarified of what this means uh feel free to clarify that and that's all I have thank you so much [Applause] okay any comments questions I see Mr naw um just so you know this is an information item we cannot discuss specifics do you still want to talk okay we're good any other questions comments
Bridge okay is it working now yeah it's working now thank you uh first of all uh I'd like to welcome all of you to our new uh boardroom I I think it's terrific it's been interesting watching this building going up uh the only thing I I've noticed and maybe it's because of uh it's it's age related uh it seems
like our microphones up here we hear very well but I notic tonight when the speakers are at the microphone I don't know if it's because of the high ceiling or whatever uh it seemed to it seemed to Echo and did not seem to be as as loud and so I I'm wondering Dr Enfield if there's maybe some way we can we can
tweak that or maybe we're we're getting a different microphone this is temporary I don't know but I know we're we're still breaking in the the room and there's going to be some some things that we need to to check on but that's just the one thing I noticed to me personally um couple things that I did since the last board meeting uh as the L
onto the Chino Hills Parks and Recreation Commission meeting um I uh attended their meeting uh last month they're back on their Wednesday night schedule during the summer because of the concerts in the park they had their um June and July meetings uh on the same night as our board meetings and I was not able to attend one thing I wanted to
point out what they what they did that evening is they recognized all of the students volunteers for the summer many of them are our students in in Chino Valley Unified School District and the thing that caught my ear that evening is that they said that these students served a total of 2,736 hours of volunteer this summer and
I think that that's terrific and it shows the involvement of uh of the young people in in our community and I was pleased to hear that um the other meeting that I I had a chance to attend uh with Dr Park was the uh uh District in the uh in the city of Chino District joint meeting uh we met with mayor yoa
uh council member Curtis Burton uh and it was very very interesting a lot of topics were covered uh uh you probably saw out here the Ramona sinkhole that uh that caused some uh detours for for quite a while we talked about that development of The Preserve the opening of legacy and just some other programs that were um
involved with them student resource officers d uh sad student Against Drunk Driving um we even talked about active shooter training which I we mentioned earlier um and also board meeting and and football game uh support and that's the uh that's just a a kind of a part of it and I was very pleased to be involved with it uh the one thing I I think all
of us are concerned we saw how hot it was today and it's supposed to be hotter tomorrow and those of us are kind of planning on possibly taking in a football game tomorrow night to make sure you hydrate make sure that uh it um we'll see what the what the temperature is I know it'll be in the evening I
don't know what it's like outside right now because it's dark hopefully it's a little u a little cooler but just uh just to take precautions and uh I know some people are concerned about school starting in August but you know we're in September and I remember many years ago September 14th being 114 one day going to school so uh it's just something we
uh we live with and have to have to deal with but also have to be uh very cautious about it so with that uh that concludes my comments thank you Mr sh thank you Mr Bridge Mr n you have to press your button and I have to key you in there you go okay yes um I uh like to
thank our hardworking principes um schools had started and yes uh especially our High School principles uh they're they've been working so hard um that I would often see them uh missing their lunchtime because whether they're working with students or doing interviews for uh new teachers so thank you for our site uh leadership in our high schools um our job is to provide best
education in a safe learning environment and as our speaker had mentioned about the shooting in Georgia uh I'd like to ask uh Dr anfield see if we could uh have some type of uh uh meeting with our security department personnels to just go through and and maybe enhance and um brainstorm to make sure that our campuses are secured and and U be safe
for our students and our teachers yeah we have several meetings but we'll follow up we meet with them several times during the year uh to go over safety issues but we'll continue that yeah thank you Dr mfield yeah and um again the the student safety uh is our major concern for our parents and our district needs to be uh always
be prepared because this things are real when we're growing up the worst thing Could Happen was our fist fight but things have changed so we need to be prepared and thank you again for our staff members working so hard in a hot weather over 100° today I think it hit 108 degrees uh thank you I appreciate you and and uh
serving our students that will be my comment for tonight thank you thank you Mr n Mr Cruz press button Amanda on thank you for what you stated yeah we should we should cons you know like what you said Mr now so about the active shooter and and just addressing it again and again and um I just want to also re
reiterate what Miss La stated you know during the 2023 2024 school year cvsd was a identified as the number one Unified School District among the 345 California for having all the schools earn PB recognition the district also captured first place in san berino county for having the most schools recognized as either platinum and or Golds schools so that's excellent thank
you thank you Mr Cruz and Mr minro I guess yeah okay I think you're on again I feel like that that's a a sign of a new building a new start we had uh some good conversations today uh I want to thank everybody for their comments uh although we had some disagreements and everybody said their point of view was nice that
everybody just got to the microphone and and spoke what their point of view was so I I hope that in the new meeting that uh we could continue that atmosphere and we can uh hear each other and and talk out our different points of view um I do want to second on Don's comment about I I don't I don't want to say that
I'm that old but I can't hear either so if I I can hear our I can hear our microphones really well when the when the audience comes to speak I'm I'm straining to hear so if we can look at that I would yeah that would help me so I don't know what that is but um other than that we what last meeting we we met
with uh the city of Chino and we spoke about many programs with them also about the Ramona s Co I guess as it's lovingly come to come to be known and and uh the street will be redone by the city shortly from schaer to Chino so that will be nice but uh there is more work coming uh we went over programs as much
as uh additional sro's having a a a sergeant specifically assigned to the sro's when we've there's been a safety a lot of topic of tonight um we continue to increase and I think bolster our relationship with our law enforcement officers and um work in partnership with our security officers to make sure that we're receiving up-to-date training and
regular training and um so I want to thank them for their commitment and their service in doing that and uh I know we've had them before but uh maybe we can even see if reach out and see if they'll give another update as to training on on the Alice program that they have going throughout the the school district for
the community I know we've done that kind of I think we did it last year might be a good time to reach out to them and see if they'll do that again so that's all I got thank you Mr minroe uh superintendent Dr anfield all right well first of all I want to thank everyone for joining us tonight in our our new
boardroom um I would be am missed if I didn't uh thank Andrew black our chief technology officer and the crew that's behind the uh tinted window there is uh Logan Sherry and um uh um turn I we have a um Brandon is it Brandon yeah thank you Brandon um that are in our uh tech room behind the the board
making everything work tonight I know there were maybe some issues with the microphones uh there's a lot that goes into this technology to get it up and running and so we'll continue to fine-tune those um issues that we had tonight I know there's a few we've been writing list and been texting each other back and forth during the meeting and so
there's a few things we noticed but we'll continue to improve the the quality of the sound and everything that goes into this um the other part I wanted to uh address tonight was the uh school shooting and um when those happen across the United States I know it's it's one that um we as a district take very seriously we do a tremendous amount
of training we work very closely with all of our police departments um they are phenomenal of the work that they do uh we we put a lot of effort into protecting our schools we put a lot of resources into making sure that we have have a single point entry across the campuses we've added uh tripled the amount of cameras on our school sites
we've had our SRO walk those campuses and with our security to Pro provide more Security on our campuses to look at areas where we needed to add more security and so we continue to look at those things over and over and our staff does a a phenomenal job we've had outside Consultants who have come in and looked at the process and the procedures
and the safety plan that we have in place and have gone out and have met with staff and had small meetings with the staff members that's the teachers the classified staff at all the different campuses to verify are we actually doing that work and in those meetings they can verify uh the work that we have done and they've been very
impressed with the work that we do as a school district they said we're Leaps and Bounds above everybody else can we always get better absolutely we can always get better at at the things that we do to protect our kids um but I want to assure this community we do a tremendous amount it's our number one issue is to keep our kids safe in the
district and I'll will continue to to look at those uh issues across our district and continue to look at the training and provide uh training as we needed uh and and look at the the safety issues of how we enter the school and are there areas that we need to improve upon we will continue to do that work so
thank you thank you and thank you for being transparent with the community I do want to um pick piggy back just off of some of the things that you said cuz I know our district does do a tremendous uh job alongside our law enforcement on the Chino um Chino area the Flatlands and the hills and I appreciate all of
their hard work including our security guards you know I'm the biggest fan of you all um but yes I our Police Department I know personally they've been amazing my family feels 100% safe in our per safe in our community because of them um and and I do appreciate everything they're doing I can say wholeheartedly our district does
everything they can and I know when me and Monroe came in another major focus of both of ours was to make sure that our schools whatever we can offer were safer and one was offering another um another look at our security guards and the numbers we had on campus so I know that the district you know they they
took that into um you know heart and our board supported the vision and we got more security guards on the campuses you saw fights start to go down and you saw them um do a tremendous job that way I do want to mention you know with the police department uh we have an extra SRO on both the hills and the you know
the Flatland side which is a big commitment from our communities to support that as well but it's such a tremendous help on the campuses to have them I see some of their faces back there and thank you for all that you guys do for our students cuz I know you're not just there to make sure shooting stopped you give a lot of
support to our students and that means a lot because their mental health is a lot of um you know our it's obviously our focus and our priority and by you guys being there and I see what our security guards do as well along with our great teachers and our staff I I appreciate everything you're doing to make sure that our
students are safe um with that said I do want to mention about some things I know that you know there's a lot of stuff going on with me being against the unions well I will say this I've never attacked CSEA because they do what I think a union should do support their employees they haven't fought parents like our teachers unions and the states
teachers unions and the nation's teachers unions um we've had to spend money in court I don't know if you guys know but there's a thing called perb we're still I we just recently went to court that's wasted taxpayer dollars if you ask me I can't even imagine most of the majority of our teachers being okay with knowing that their Union is
fighting us on removing sexually explicit books so what we have a stronger policy you know how many districts across California wish they had the policies that we do that shouldn't be fought it's very crazy to me that you have our very own teachers at the microphone fighting us on wanting to lie to students and we have to Define
what lying is I mean that's shocking to me it's sad and sexually exclusive books the unions fighting us on that I mean talk about parental notification they're fighting us on that that's mindboggling to me that shouldn't happen that's wasted taxpayer dollars and that severs the trust so yeah when I see it at a local level trickled into a state level
trickled into a national level and I see our teachers you know the majority of the ones I talk to don't want anything to do with that and and I respect and I honor and I love them and I'll support them and educating um the the students but I will stand firm on that I mean when we're paying
last year $153,000 of taxpayer dollars to have someone on full-time release and it felt like all they did was fight us fight us parents I think that's a waste of money but that's just me and parents brought it to your attention they did their research I'm proud of them and I'm going to stand by them because those are
concerns of my own too I mean you have the union that was online fighting with me because of boys and biological boys in the girls locker room I mean what the heck are we doing here it it's mind-blowing focus on employees and their benefits and their work conditions and people will respect the unions because there's a lot of unions that do
a darn get job at what they do and I respect those unions for protecting the employees not fighting against parents um so yeah I Won't Back Down with that but I do want to bring something to your attention Dr Enfield I it was emailed to a bunch of us there was an act questionnaire um promoting three candidates and doing stuff that I
thought you you guys already sent a notice on what shouldn't shouldn't happen when it comes to elections on campuses but yet this notice was left in a staff room can we please look into that and make sure that stops immediately the district is already looking into it and we'll be sending some communication out thank you because I don't think that's the teachers doing
that that's the union and let me remind you the union the teachers at the podium have reminded me over and over and over the teachers are the union Shaw the teachers are the union all while they fight me on getting sexually explicit books out of their fight parents so I mean where who else am I supposed to
blame it's not the teachers it's the union that's making that stance so yeah I I until I see the union do what they're supposed to do I will fight against them because it's at a bigger level than what we are even here locally but um today I sit before you not just as a concerned parent or a dedicated
board member I know someone mentioned our pay guys I take home probably 8 something dollars a month that doesn't even cover my gas for local events that I go here that doesn't cover the costs for any of them that's nothing we don't get we don't do this for a paycheck and you're talking about going back to fighting me when I didn't want to charge
a $9 bottle of water in the hotel I walked in unsafe conditions in Sacramento to go get a bottle of water well I'm just going to say $153,000 to a full-time release employee to fight us parents that's 150,000 Waters bottles of water I mean come on if you want to go Apples to Apples there you go we're wasting money
that could have bought me 150,000 bottles of water apparently when I go traveling all across on your guys' dime which that doesn't happen by the way I've testified in Sacramento and fought the good fight with parental notification so yeah maybe one or two trips was the district and I'm transparent you guys got the receipts where are they go blast them on the
Internet and tell the parents that we wasted that money I mean that's embarrassing that you guys are up there doing that but okay um but as a fellow Citizen and what we have known to be a great state like many of you I joined this fight against the political cartel about four years ago I never imagined my life would be what it
is today I know way too much to give up I know way too much I've seen way too many dangers to let your children and my children in the arms and the hands of these monsters I'm sorry I have witnessed firsthand the Relentless assault of our children and on our and our values the battle we face is not
just about educational policies I alongside my colleagues I know for a fact I could speak for myself I spend hours upon hours upon hours upon day that have nothing to do with the parental notification I am there supporting sites I am taking uh phone calls from parents we have things on the site that they need Sports whatever art
whatever it is you can ask Dr Enfield I work hours and hours trying to get what our district needs and support you guys do I not I mean in all fairness I'm here not just for a parental notification that's just one part of it you don't see the bigger part of what we do and and I and I apologize if my social media
doesn't show everything that I do I mean I don't have time I have a family um but you know I will say this those figures up in Sacramento which I call the political cartel I it truly is their agendas over the well-being of our citizens they're systematically undermining our rights they're taking away our rights you see it in 195 55
these ideologies cloaked in the guise of prog progressivism and nothing more than are nothing more than a veiled attempt to push Marx Marxist and um communist beliefs into our schools I mean when you have housing medical feeding all these things which a lot of these things are great things and we have them here in our campuses but when you put all that
in one campus and you're saying what that's like the government taking control of what you are to do as a parent as well we need assistance great we have resources we have the Hope Center we have a clinic over there in Chino we have so many great things that we work in Partnerships with our cities but it doesn't need to be all under the
umbrella of a school that's wild when our kids are failing at Reading Writing and math and we have teachers fighting us on things that shouldn't they should never be fighting us that's a scary thought but I will still fight for the good teachers that want to teach our kids but they're making it hard when they're requiring them in Sacramento
laws to teach them this that the other that have nothing to do with Reading Writing and math look at the numbers but I will say this our district is doing something right in in the trend of over 20 years hopefully we'll see the final numbers but our are we're finally inclining in enrollment in a time where people are pulling their kids what does
that say to the community we're obviously working great as a team and we're educating our kids and we built the trust in our community they will continue to seek to erode the family values and replace them in with indoctrination designed to mold our children into the Pawns of their radical vision and I will still continue to stand in the way as long as I'm in this
seat it's not a mere ideological disagreement it's an assault on our core values Chino Valley I'm sorry I was born and raised here I chose to raise my family I know this community is unique and it's beautiful and I will still continue to fight for it regardless of the noise the threats and the crap that's go thrown me in my family's way
it's hard I'm going to tell you it is really hard and I don't share everything because I want to protect you guys when it comes to all the negativity that comes my way but it's bad somebody asked me why is your life being threatened I want to know the same thing what did I do try to take out sexually explicit
books want parents to be involved in their life take out politically political charge things in the classroom regardless of what aisle you stand on making sure that there is a connection between a teacher and a a parent making sure we're not lying oh my God I'm so radical guys I'm like this big nationalist that they call me and I'm
like out there to destroy your families that's crazy this is insane tell me what I'm doing so radical if anything it's radical that I'm being blamed for doing something that is really just common sense I shouldn't have to be here I never wanted to be here I wanted to be that parent on the soccer field the parent in the classroom and the mother
who is providing everything for my children free from this I trusted the system my mistake don't trust the system be part of it so you can make the changes that your community wants we're duy Ed I didn't get here because you know some mistake people came they voted for me so if you don't like it vote me
out recall me I I welcome the recall tell me where your booths are going to be I will be transparent on why you know I'm so radical I will show them what I've done it's just crazy anyways their tactics I think are diabolical they use our schools as Battlegrounds it's proof you want to have a policy that says parents are
involved well guess what previously we had a policy that said in regards to that specific thing don't forget that csba California Schoolboard Association recommended that school boards adopt that and it's still on the majority of the school districts across California that is the truth we didn't just make up a parental notification it was a reaction to What was already
existed it's just mindboggling that you know people are just going to continue to push an agenda and the nontruth I don't believe our school should be a Battleground I'm not doing anything radical I just want these people who we who dedicated their life to educating kids to be able to educate leave the rest at home I'm not trying to teach
your kids about God you made it very clear I'm this Christian white nationalist first of all I'm not whatever you want to call me my dad's from Jerusalem remember that I am my dad is an immigrant he came here legally he joined the military so let's be careful what we call people anyways we must wake up to the
reality of this crisis I I really believe we do some people get comfortable our own Community has gotten comfortable because you have the majority supporting the beliefs but you need to pay attention that's when enemy comes in when people are comfortable the time for complacency complacency is over we cannot allow our children to be used as Pawns in this dangerous game because
they are using our kids in a game we must unite and Rise Against this pers pervasive threat our fight is not just local I'm sorry it's not it's coming from State everything we do this State comes back and says no you can't do that everything we want to teach no we're going to make sure the classroom teaches
XYZ that have nothing to do with teaching again I mean it's the truth go pay attention to what's being passed in Sacramento the stakes are high our children's future depend on what we do now we cannot afford to sit idle while these radical agendas shape their lives we need to come together this is our fight this is our moment we need to come
Stand Together defend our children and and our future with unwavering resolve not just one of us not just two of us we need a community to stand up and say no Sacramento we're going to do what we want to do here locally to educate our kids and keep our family values Chino Valley has family family values they're
not trying to ask the state to take over our children I believe that with my heart it may have taken just a few of us to expose these issues but it's going to take many of us to continue to protect they are vicious I sat in court last Friday with tears rolling down my eyes because I was reminded firsthand again
even sometimes our system in the courts are broken instead of the judge focusing on a law he focused on his hate for one person or maybe even four go listen to it it was pretty wild it's heartbreaking we're not even focusing on what's in front of us I mean I sat there and I heard how much this that the other about me and
and three other board members that had nothing to do with the policy I mean if I was on the stand because I'm being charged with the crime talk crap about me all day but this is about a leg legality of a policy and that wasn't even really spoke about in in in a court hearing that's insane guys
I don't expect you to know that but I expect you to try to pay attention and realize you need to stand strong you need to pay attention we're sounding the alarm what's happening this is a machine I'm not I'm not making this upu go look what they're doing and they have all these other districts that they tried to stand
up against it look what happens and then people give up because they just pick and pick and pick at you Chino we're better than that we can stand against the giant we're going to continue to do that but we're a team and we need to stand as a team our kids our families are worth it I said that four years ago
at my very first board meeting our kids our families our values are worth it Chino you're worth it I don't want to hear one more family have to move out of California it's disheartening fight the good fight it's worth it but we're a team and with that said I adjourn this regular Board of Education meeting at 7:58
