tradition forward. It is my pleasure to introduce Miss Heather, principal of boys high school accompanied by the student mayor of boys republic to present the roio. Please join me in welcoming. Good evening members of the valley of education colleagues and honored guests. During the Christmas season we are symbols of tradition, hope and renewal. And one of the most meaningful is the
Delia dates back to the Italian artist whose designs these symbolize abundance of gratitude for hope for what lies ahead. Tonight it is our honor to present you with a reef that carries not only it tradition but also the work of our students. These beautiful reads are handcrafted by the young men at Boy Republic who carefully assemble each one with pride, precision,
and purpose. And through this program, students earn warehouse credit, gaining valuable real world skills such as craftsmanship, responsibility, teamwork, and accountability. This year alone, boys sent 28,000 across the world, sharing a message of hope, tradition, and excellence far beyond our campus. present the evening. I would like to invite Republicary arts. I've also had participate in student government.
I have since resent this program to reenter society as a responsible hardwork. My future goals are to join the military education while preparing while participating in I earned a warehouse tools, resources, and confidence to build a future. >> Thank you, Superintendent, members of the board. It is with great pride and appreciation that we present this wreath to you as a symbol of tradition,
partnership and the spirit of the season. This wreath is more than a decoration represents growth, second chances and the belie that when students are given opportunity and support, they rise to the occasion. So on behalf of Boys Republic and the Chino Valley Adult School, we thank you for your leadership and continued commitment to student success. And we wish you and your
families a joyful Christmas and a hopeful new year. Thank you so much. What a fantastic plan. I like how you got it all laid out and the way you spelled it out and your plan that you have ahead of you right now in your life and wish you good luck. Awesome. Great ideas. I just want to tell you thank you for
coming out. Your story inspires many including myself. It's exactly why we do what we do. I cannot wait to see your construction company. Please reach out to us when it's open. I'm excited to see you pursue your dreams and you're exactly what represents what Bush Boys Republic is and should always remain. So, thank you for being here. Thank you
for the beautiful work and as we get to enjoy these even our own homes, it's a reminder to pray for you and I just I just ask God blesses you in your life. Thank you for being by the I'm sure you don't want to stay in this whole meeting, so feel free. We'll give you a second. But thank you, you can
stay, too. But thank you for being here tonight and thank you for the briefs. They're very, very beautiful and the love that you put in them. So, thank you. We have another favorite student recognition also. as well in this one. Um, in a second I'm gonna invite high school representatives for the girls cross country team. Of course, the girls are on break, but we
will have certificates for them as well. Um, before we do that, I just want to say a few words. Uh, tonight we're honoring this cross girls cross country team from not only for their athletic achievement for but for their perseverance, their integrity, and their resilience. These young women They compete and they earn their results the right way. Yet recently what broke my
heart is that they lost team points and some of our girls were displaced by a boy competing on a girls team another district due to the rules imposed by CIF and the state including Governor Gavin Newsome. It just this stuff gets me really emotional because this should not happen. Title N was written to protect these girls in their sports with
fairness, competition, equal opportunity, and of course their safety. When girls lose place, points or podium spots because of policies that have ignored that ignore biological reality, that promise is broken and it's unnecessary and it should never happen. I just want every young woman to know you did nothing wrong. You earned your spots. You earned your points. You've
earned this recognition and more. Just know this district will continue to fight this fight and we will win this for you eventually regardless of what they say. You should have never had to face this or go through this. And I hope you listen to this because we will continue to fight this fight for you. Tonight, we also want to honor amazing
coaches and their principal and their athletic director who have stood up for these girls. Standing for fairness in girls sports today is not easy. It comes with pressure. It comes with risk and of course criticism. But these coaches, the staff and their principal chose courage over silence. They defended their athletes, especially these coaches who went to defend their
Title N. We want to thank you. We honor you. You have You uphold integrity and competition and model what true leadership is when it matters the most. To our athletes and coaches, we see you. We stand with you and we will continue to fight ensure that girls sports remain fair, safe, protected, and truly equal. Exactly what Title 9 is recommended. And
with that said, I would like to invite you guys to the to the mic with me. and Cabinet. We want to thank you for having us here this evening and we want to also introduce our coaches. Hello, my name is Coach Caroline. I'm the head coach for cross country and field. And we're here tonight because we are advocating for our athletes,
specifically our female athletes who occasion will be racing against biological males who were placed in the wrong Biological categories exist for a reason. It's because males have a huge huge advantage over females. It has nothing to do with identity. >> Hello. My name is Matt, assistant coach for cross country and track. I just want to for the opportunity to be recognized.
And yeah, it does come with a risk to kind of play your hands and do what's right. Stand by these females on the field and off the field and biological Thank you again for coming. One more round of applause. >> Okay, we're now at comments from our wonderful amazing student representative. >> Good evening board president Shaw, members of the board, Superintendent
Enfield, and distinguished guests. To start off my comments, IA High School held its ASV and executive board installation where they recognized the service of leadership while welcoming the newly elected ASV and executive board. The school also hosted a F1 themed rally where they invited students from Diamond Bars USB to attend and focus on showing inspirational school spirit and leadership development. And
in addition to hosting, I USB students also attended the Diamond Bars rally as well. Chino High School supported fall athletics through participation in games and fall sports competitions highlighting strong student involvement in athletics and are currently attending winter sports as well. The school hosted an academic rally to recognize student achievement and academic success. Additionally, their ASV ran an
introductory introductory leadership class providing students with foundational leadership skills and an understanding of ASB responsibilities. Currently, their ASV is in the process of planning a winter sports rally and organizing a food drive to support local community. Luga High School organized a spirit week in preparation for their winter sports rally using a Fast and Furious theme to increase student engagement and school
spirit. The school also held a toy drive during the holiday season, supporting families in need by donating to shelters. In addition, Don Lugle participated in a Christmas parade involving school sports teams to promote their community involvement in school pride. Finally, at Chino Hills, we saw a lot of activities specifically within our performing arts group. Our band took
second place at a national competition. Our theater showcased their performance of Legally Blonde and our choir held a winter concert. Additionally, we held a Harry Potter themed winter rally to recognize winter sports, academic achievements, and league champions from the fall season of sports. We also organized a canned food drive to support local communities as well as a philanth
philanthropic event called Depop Day where we donated clothing. I hope everyone has a great winter break with lots of celebration with family and friends. Safe travels to wherever. A merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thank you. >> Awesome. Thank you. >> We're now on to comments from employee representatives. Do we have anybody from ACT? Hi, good evening. Thank you very much.
Good evening, President Shaw, Superintendent Enfield, board members, cabinet, colleagues, and community members. On behalf of CHAMP, we would like to acknowledge all of the hard work and dedication our teachers and staff have given to the district to make this first semester a success. We have seen growth in test scores, decreases in chronic absenteeism, and increases in positive school culture. There are Some
specific highlights we would like to acknowledge. Health services and child development held their second of five enrichment day camps today as part of the expanded learning programs. Elementary students from across the district met today at Annaborba. We went on a field trip to crayonology and then followed up with a fun day of enrichment activities. At Calero, an eighth grade student
entered an art contest for the Inland Empire Utilities Agency. The theme was using water wisely and she was honored uh by being featured in a calendar. Woodrest had a site visit on December 4th from the schools to watch team and they earned the award. They are now a California school to watch. Kenyon Hills had a lot of uh good things to report.
Uh they are proud and act to actively support and uplift the local community through meaningful service and generosity. This season, their students and family came together to support the Food for Life Ministry Thanksgiving food drive, filling an entire pallet with non-p perishable items to pro help provide meals for families in need during the holiday season. In addition,
their hygiene hygiene drive supplied essential items for the community care closet, a safe and welcoming space where families experiencing need or crisis can shop for basic supplies at no cost. Their commitment to service extends beyond the basic needs. Their studentrun find kind. Collected toys. That's a hard one to say if you say it too fast. Uh collected
toys, clothing, blankets, and comfort items for hospitalized children and el elderly residents and local nursing homes. Bringing warmth, joy, and connection to some of the most vulnerable community members. Also, thanks to the incredible success of the donation drive, the Brighton a Day Club was able to deliver over 35 boxes and bags of Christmas gifts to patients in a local hospital.
These efforts reflect the heart of Canyon Hills Junior High School. They show that the students are compassionate leaders, the families are generous partners, and the school community values empathy, service, and kindness. Together, they are not only meeting immediate needs, but also modeling the character, responsibility, and care that define who they are and the positive impact they strive to make every day.
On behalf of Champ, we hope that all of you enjoy this winter break and come back renewed and refreshed and ready to tackle semester 2. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. >> Thank you. And to you all as well, thank you for everything. Beautiful things happening. We're now on to public comments. Patricia, how many you request
to speak? >> 11. >> Thank you. Board bylaw 9323 meeting conduct establishes the guidelines and the following process applies. Speakers will be called in the order you registered on the electronic request to speak device. Names are displayed on the monitors. Please watch for your name to appear and line up at the designated numbers behind the mic. Once the
recording secretary announces the first request to speak will no longer be accepted. Additionally, government code 54957.9 authorizes removal of an individual or group when a meeting is willfully interrupted and order cannot be restored. Further, Penal Code 403 states in part, "Every person who without authority of law willfully disturbs or breaks up any lawful assembly or meeting that is not unlawful in its character is
guilty of a misdemeanor. Mr. Cruz, please explain the public comment guidelines. >> You have up to three minutes to address the board. You cannot donate your time. One person at the mic at a time have on absent persons considered your time. The clock will start after your name is called please refer to board policy 1312.1 for the procedure regarding complaints
against them. And lastly, speakers may not approach dasis any time. The board is in session. Please give any materials you wish distributed to the board to the reporting secretary. >> Adriana Cardinus Eley on a non-aggenda item. Dr. the board, the city, everybody. Good evening. I have been well I was a teacher for 42 years at Chino High
School, 37 years adult school. I just retired in May. However, however, since four years ago, freshman year, when we started the BSG Academy, I know you're so busy, you don't have time to look at what I have been concerned about. I love that California is bringing up the standard by having all these wonderfulies going on in the state
level. However, not at the cost of other students. Please look over, take a little time, look at amendment, look at Civil Rights Act of 1964. I'm 83 years old. I grew up in Texas during the time that these laws were noted. through this personally. I know it now students are must take more AP classes than the regular kids are giving them a higher
GPA points. Now Mr. Cruz and Mr. have been awesome to me. Uh before regular kids that wanted to take extra classes had to pay $400. Mr. M to help these kids but Mr. Joseph and Mr. took it away for free $400 class. These children they don't have to take PE they're in sports they get better computers program
they have uh their own budget going they have workshop they can go to Ilain to you I can't get a lawyer to explain the civil rights act of 1964 that I went through I graduated There is a movie going on when I was in high school from Texas of what we went through. Don't do this to our children.
Take time to read these laws and see that it's not equal. It's inequality in both cases. Um we have four classrooms going into the academy. We have started a year ago elementary school from >> Good evening board, cabinet, Dr. Enfield, friends, everyone here in the audience and listening across YouTube and the media. A teacher stood in front of their class
thinking about a final Many rough drafts go through. The problem with doing tests nowadays is that it's nearly impossible to prevent something that we all fear as educators, academic dishonesty. Cheating occurs everywhere. Whether it's using AI, photos, or other tools inappropriately. But when making a test, I've cracked the code initially. It takes so much work, but it's
something worth it. the responsibility and the knowledge of our students. My last test, my final this year had 25 variations, plus some secret variations that students didn't know. At this point, the students have learned, don't copy your neighbor. The chances of doing it and be successful is just as bad as winning the lottery. But another nemesis has come up. Artificial intelligence.
A few weeks ago, I started getting weird answers on homework assignments. Stuff that graduate student in a chemistry degree would know. Rare exceptions to the rule started popping up on students papers and then I pulled the trigger. The test that I gave, I laid a trap for the kids and approximately 15% of the students fell in. They're using AI on
the tests now and they got caught. About 30 students cheated on my final. The reality is that the reason for this is the use of phones. At the last meeting, I had spoken about that and how we're not taking appropriate action. If we want to stop academic dishonesty, we need to stop it at the source. Take the
phones away. On a positive note though, I want to go over a couple of things. First, I want to thank our teacher parent student group chaps for putting on an amazing breakfast for everyone last Friday. Your generosity is amazing. I want to thank Judy Ellsworth, our health tech, who became a close friend of mine over the years, but also brought
so much warmth and care to our students who are not feeling better. But finally, I don't often talk about my faith here at the mic, but throughout the holiday season, we get caught up in the consumerism of getting presents, giving presents, but we quickly forget the reason for the season. About 2,000 years ago, a baby was born. God brought down
Jesus and he sat here on on earth for over 33 years and brought his joy to us. A savior that brought us today our Christian reality. The reality is that we all believe in our way. And I want to thank everyone and have a happy >> Andrea Lopez on a non-aggenda item. >> One one moment. I just asked Dr.
Anfield. He's gonna send a reminder to the principles. We do have word polic. with no phones in classrooms. We just need to work together on enforcing it and getting it done. So, I thank you for bringing that up. Hi, good evening. [clears throat] My name is Andrea Lopez. I'm the mother of five boys, four whom currently attend
CVUSD schools. I am a CBUSD employee who works part-time 5 days a week as an instructional aid for the fun club after school program at Oakidge Elementary. I have myself into this school as a parent, an employee, and a volunteer on the executive PTA board. I'm here tonight because my two youngest sons, Hen, who is a fifth grader, and Jameson,
who is a first grader, are being forced to have to leave their school, they have been rooted in for nearly four years. After the Oakidge Elementary School principal, Miss Chanel, has denied their inner district transfer to remain at their school. And I need you to understand the gravity of what that means for us. Our family has been
experiencing hardships and difficult situations for the past few months and had to unexpectedly move from our rental property this past summer. We struggled to find housing near the boys's school. We finally landed in Chino, 8 miles away from Oakidge Elementary School. I was completely honest with the principal and shared our housing situation, which I trust. I listened and I followed her
instructions regarding submitting an interd district transfer to request to stay at Oakidge. On November 4th, my youngest son, Jameson, had a seizure during class. I watched him be escorted by ambulance to the children's hospital. We are still seeking answers and a formal diagnosis from a neurologist. In the meantime, he has an active IEP and received services from the same team
that he's been supported by since preschool prep at Oakidge. These are the people he knows, trust, and feels safe with. The doctor has also ordered a temporary accommodation for Jameson so that he would be accompanied to utilize a restroom and not walk alone on campus. To remove him now mid year in the middle of a medical crisis and not just
disruptive, it's dangerous and it is traumatizing and unnecessary. My fifth grader, Walkin, has half a year left of fifth grade and one more year before he promotes to junior high. After almost a year filled with housing and emotional hardship and um instability. I'm sorry. I know I'm running out of time, but I sent you guys all an email.
If you can please just take a time to look at that email and read it thoroughly, ask me any questions, I can give you documentation, proof of everything. We've even visited the hope center, our program, and they have us documented. I ask you to please just look at our situation and please help me keep my kids in their school that
they've been in. I also work there and I am dedicated. I'm a volunteer. I'm a mom. I know you, especially Michelle, understand this. Please just look at my email. Please read it. It's long. I'm sorry, but it has a timeline and everything documented. Please. Thank you and merry Christmas. God bless you guys. >> Lopez on a non-aggenda item.
Um, good evening. My name is Walk Lopez. I am 10 years old and I am a fifth grader at Oakidge Elementary School. I have been going to Oakidge since first grade and it is the only school I've ever really known. This school feels like home to me. The teachers, my friends, the staff, they're all like my second family and I am scared I won't be
>> be allowed to come back after winter break. We had to move out of our house recently and I was very sad. I didn't want to leave because my that was my home. But my parents did everything they could and they found us a new place to live. My mom and dad always tried their and I love him so much for that. Every
morning, my mom takes my me and my little brother Jameson to Oakidge. Then she drops my brothers off at Ayala and Towns. After school, my brother and I go to fun club and my mom works there so we can so we get to stay with her until my dad or grandma picks us up. It makes me feel safe knowing she's there. I don't
want to leave Oakidge. I want to finish fifth grade there and then promote next year with my best friends and my classmates. I want my teachers, the ones who have helped me since I was little, to see me finish and be proud of everything I've done. My little brother and I are good students. You try your best to do not get in trouble. We love
our school. I know my brother is scared, too, even though he tries to be brave. [clears throat] So, I'm asking you, please help us stay at Oakidge. I don't want to leave the school. That feels like my home, and I want to finish elementary years here with the people I care about. Thank you for listening, and I hope you all have a
very merry Christmas. >> Thank you, >> Jame Lopez. on a non-aggenda item. This is Jame Lopez. He is a first grader at Oakidge Elementary School and Jameson and he also has an heunately But the good thing that came out of it is that all the time letters to get out and they were all very concerned about him. He
made a video for them and it all came to a big community. Thank you. >> Thank you for coming, Jameson. Merry Christmas. >> Merry Christmas. >> Merry Christmas. PewDiePie. >> Linda Frasier on a non-aggenda item. Dr. Enfel, uh, board and colleagues, I am speaking on behalf of Anukica Lane, who could not be here today. I want to
address misinformation that was shared in the last board meeting about a man who was shot and detained by ICE at an Ontario school for what was what was claimed no wrongdoing of his own. I want to highlight the truth that he was trying to hit ICE authorities with his cars. The intentional twisting of a story seeks to divide and increase hate
among our community. Our law enforcement officers are trained to handle situations with as little conflict as possible. Typically, a response of nonfatal gun gunfire would only be used to neutralize the threat that is aimed at harming someone. I also want to note an observation that I made at the last board meeting. It is a disappointment that that disrespectful language is
coming from some people who claim that they want equality and inclusivity in our schools. If these individuals were truly seeking peace, they would stay after their remarks and hear what the board has to say. What I saw at the last board meeting was multiple people coming up to the mic and leaving right after to avoid hearing what the board members had
to say back. This is not giving an opportunity for reconciliation and discussion that the board members work diligently to provide. This is not an action that promotes the inqu the equity and inclusivity that is claimed to be so important to these people. If you were here after leaving your remark last month, you would have heard how the
board is not previously spending on lawsuits, but they are instead using responsible pro bono lawyers as often as possible to fight in defense. These issues are second to the most these issues are second to the most important issues. The education of our children. I am proud to be in the area with the district who is leading the rankings in
California for academic performance. Merry Christmas and be safe. >> Manuel Zavala on a non-aggenda item. >> Hi everyone. It's great to see you all. My name is Manuel Zavala. I'm the founder of afterchool.org. Uh I come today with the recognition of after school programs and an announcement that I now res supporting this community for the past two years. And we've had the honor of
serving your school district as a vendor across all of your school sites, but a number of elementary schools we're currently working with. For us, as a former high school computer science teacher, I mean, definitely have a passion for for technology- based education, but there are immense needs all over the place. Many of the parents that I've met over the past two years in
this community have said the same things time and time again. We need greater access to after school programs. There's limited becomes a fun club and at the end of the day everyone does need an after school program. So I just come today saying I want to help. I'm here and I will continue to be here for as
long as necessary and I know sometimes it's an awareness game when it comes to school sites reaching out to the school sites and things of that nature. So if you guys have events that you need support at, definitely let our organization know. we're excited to support. And if you'd ever like to come out and check out one of our existing
after school programs, we have an ongoing physical education program at Howard Cattle. So that would be an opportunity and some other ones going on as well. But it's a pleasure to meet you guys officially and if you need anything from me, please let me know. It's safe to assume that minutes from now, this board will elect Sonia Shaw to
be its president for the fourth consecutive year. In year two, it came as a surprise since nearly every previous board rotated the presidency. It was a fair thing to do as the presidency has certain influence that other board positions do not. Now, Mr. Cruz and Mr. Na are all too happy to sit back and coast as they have for nearly
two decades and let others do the work while they collect a paycheck and make incoherent comments from the deis. Still, they managed to win re-election over and over based on incumbents perks of name recognition. But I want to remind this board why our schoolboard elections moved from at large voting to trustee area voting in 2022. The idea
was that dividing Chino Valley into five smaller areas and asking voters within each area to vote for a candidate who lives in their neighborhood would ensure that underrepresented voters have a say in governing their schools. Each of you were elected to not only represent your constituents but also lead. The understanding was that in a four-year term, each of you would get your shot to
lead this board. But after a year of Miss Shaw in the presidency, when former Vice President John Monroe was slated to take over, the board majority pulled the rug out from under him and allowed Miss Shaw to continue in the role. The following year, the cowardice of this board continued, and she was reelected a third time. Maybe it's because you're
all scared of her. Maybe it's because you're lazy. Or maybe it's because you believe that the negative headlines this sport gets for its discriminatory, harmful policies is better than not being in the spotlight at all. I'm asking one of you, perhaps you, Mr. Cervantes, to have the courage to step up and show your constituents that you are qualified to lead this board because
any of you who can't do that don't deserve to be on the board. Oh, and there's another reason. Mich is so focused on her ill- fated campaign for state superintendent of public instruction that she is now only using her role as schoolboard president as a political prop for higher office and to get on Fox News. So, I'm wondering if
one of you has the guts to put yourself out there and try to reverse the absolute embarrassment this board has become to our community and actually put the focus back on in education instead of political drama. as Miss Shaw so crudely yelled at Superintendent Edfield at a board meeting prior to her running. You all need to grow a pair. Thank you.
Jackie Cortez on a non-aggenda item. I am here to condemn Sonia Shaw's disgusting support of ICE agents aka kidnappers. She said teachers shouldn't de demonize ICE agents. We don't have to demonize them. They demonize themselves with their actions just like she does. They're terrorizing our communities and separating families. And they're vile human beings. And Sonia said, "They are
our mothers, fathers, grandmas, and grandpas. Whose grandma's out there snatching people?" To these kidnappers, I hope they get the day they deserve in hell. Why aren't you crying over them wearing face masks, Sonia? And they aren't taking criminals. They're taking hardworking people. The lecter from my church, the fruit vendor down the street, and my student's father are not
criminals. Just say you're racist and that you don't care about the people in this community unless they look and think like you. And oh, and by the way, did you break up with Jack Hips or did Jack Hips break up with you? It's so funny to me how you try to present yourself as such a Christian woman when
you have broken so many of the Ten Commandments and have so many ex-friend who say otherwise. I heard about what happened when you worked at Stater Brothers and you are disgusting. At the last meeting, you said that God made us all perfect as we are. That God does not make mistakes. So then, why did you revise God's work? Why did you get
gender affirming surgery? You have no problem getting yourself cut up. You're a hypocrite who surrounds herself with people who physically and sexually abuse children. Yet, you claim you want to protect children. And you thought you were so funny posting your taco meals, but all you did was provide more evidence of your racism. Why do you make it so easy for me? You have no problem
dressing up as a Latina with your racist friends, and I'm glad you were finally introduced to seasoned chicken. I'm sure your taste buds exploded from joy because they finally experienced flavor for the first time, but your personality will always remain unseasoned. You continue to ignore anything having to do with immigration or translation. We all saw how I was actually not
allowed to speak in both English and Spanish because you are too ignorant to explain how it works and you interpret translation however it appeases you. I can speak both languages unlike a lot of you but I am doing it for the public not for myself since you refuse to provide this service to our community. The people who need the information cannot
receive it. Dr. Enfield continues to ignore the community by not putting out any statements of solidarity with the immigrant community and part of it is due to racist Sonia not letting him. Are you going to send Gavin Newsome a thank you Sonia for your race tonight? You should reject the money otherwise you have become a part of the political
cartel you criticize so much. You are just another sellout politician. But maybe now you'll be able to afford your own Amazon and Costco accounts so you don't have to mooch off your friends. This one will be quick as I have only a couple things to say, then I'm done. First, I want to apologize to the Yala High School community based on the
objectively disgusting and unacceptable way my son's football coach was treated and the very active role grown adults played in destroying the 2025 football season. I had to withdraw from schoolside council. I couldn't in good conscience continue to sit on a committee I realized the hard way is just there to rubber stamp what's put before them this past year demanded
accountability there was none so I had to step away second to the person up there that walked past us on senior night and stood on the other side of the fence taking pics with your kid and literally laughing in our faces while the rest of us weren't allowed to go on the field with our boys one last time
shame on you I've never seen a more let them eat cake moment in my life and given how disgusting it was, I hope to never see it again. Several people said it felt like a one last FU to the parents after a season of misery and destruction, and I couldn't agree more because that was objectively repugnant and made me realize as I recall the
smile on your face as you looked right at us that you folks on the sides up here are not hostages to Shaw's tyranny. You're willing participants in it. Third, to Coach Smith, I'm so sorry the school site and community you loved and supported so much didn't return the sentiment the way they should have. I hope that wherever you end up next
values what you can bring to them, so many here because so many here were unwilling to do so. Lastly, Shaw, you and your friend Oscar loved to call the friends I respect and admire all kinds of pedophile and groomer, but had nothing to say about the actual SRO pedophile and groomer in this district. Making it clear that this was never
about saving girls sports or protecting kids, but always about seizing power and maintaining control. >> No further speakers. >> Thank you, Patty. We're now on to changes and deletions. Patty, are there any changes or deletions? >> The following deletion is on the agenda. Item 3C1, page 39, student readmissions delete case 2425-41. There are no further changes or
deletions. >> Thank you. And now we're on to action items. The first item is 21 2026 2027 board meeting calendar. Recommends the board of education approve the 2026 2027 board meeting calendar. May I have a motion? Thank you, Mr. N. May I have a second? Thank you, Mr. Cervantes. Comments, questions, discussions. If you would like to speak, you can use the
mic. See that there's nothing further board members, please register your vote. Thank you. Okay. And the motion passes with a vote of five to zero. And the next item is 2 A2 nominations for California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly. Recommends that the board of education nominate up to six candidates to the California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly. If you
have any nominations, may I have a mo motion, please? Seeing that no one's motioning, the item dies. Next item 2 A3, board member compensation adjustment pursuant to AB1390 recommends that the board of education adopt board member compensation adjustment pursuant to AB 1390. May I have a motion, please? Thank you, Mr. Cruz. May I have a second? Any comments, questions, or discussions?
Dr. Enfield. >> Yeah, thank you, Miss J. I brought this um item forward, AB1390. Um actually early November I received a phone call from one of my superintendent friends who let me know that he was bringing it and I didn't know about this um that there was a an assembly bill 1390 about increasing the stipen for board members. Um he shared with me that
their board was moving this forward. I've looked into it. Almost every board superintendent I talked to has moved it forward or is in the process of moving it forward. When I look at this my recommendation as the super and that's why I brought it forward is that I believe that the board needs to adopt this item. The legislator looked at it.
It's a position that's very underfunded and they realize that and that's why it was brought forward through the legislation. I know some of the board members may not feel comfortable with approving it. But again, I recommend that it be approved because if it's not for you, it's for the next board members that come on board. That you guys do a
tremendous amount of work in this district that people don't see. um nor should they see, but you do a tremendous amount of work and I think you should be fairly or at least somewhat compensated for the work that you do. So hopefully you take my recommendation. Thank you. >> Thank you, Dr. Enfeld. And just to clarify, board members can deny if they
like, right? >> Yes, absolutely. >> Awesome. Thank you very much. Okay, thank you for your comments and explaining that. I appreciate that. And Hearing nothing further. I'm seeing no other comments. We'll go ahead and register your vote. Board members. Okay. And the motion passes with a vote of four to one. Next item is uh Mr. Next item is 2B1 2025 2026 first interim
financial report. Recommend the board of education approve the 2025 2026 first interim financial report and author authorize the president of the board of education and the superintendent to sign the positive certification of financial condition for the current and to subsequent fiscal years. May I have a motion please? Thank you Mr. Cvantes. May I have a second? Thank you, Mr. Smith. Any
comments, questions, discussions? Seeing none, board members, please register your vote. Preferential. Thank you. The motion passes with a vote of five to zero with preferential voting. Yes. And the next item is 2C1. Public notice and hearing regarding the district's initial bargaining proposal to the Associated Chino teachers for a reopener to the collective bargaining agreement effective July 1st, 2026 recommends the
board of education give public notice and conduct a public hearing regarding the district's initial bargaining proposal to the associated Chino teachers for a reopener to the collective bargaining agreement effective July 1st, 2026. I now get public notice and open the hearing at 6:54 p.m. Trisha, are there any speakers? Thank you. I now close the hearing at 6:54 p.m.
Next item is 2C2. Minimum wage and compensation increase to the classified service non-bargaining unit. Recommends that the board of education approve the minimum wage and compensation increase to the classified service non-bargaining unit effective January 1st, 2026. May I have a motion, please? Thank you, Mr. N. Thank you, Mr. Cervantes for your second. Any comments, questions, discussions. Seeing nothing, board members, please
register your vote. Preferential. Thank you. And the motion passes with a vote of five to zero with preferential voting yes. That concludes the action items. Moving on to consent. Board members, you have items to pull. Please indicate so on your monitor. Okay. No polls for the consent items. May I have a motion, please? Mr. N. Thank you. And seconded by Mr.
Cervantes. Thank you so much. Board members, please register your vote now. Preferential. Thank you. Waiting for one more vote. And the motion passes with a vote of five to zero with preferential voting. Yes. We're now on to information items. Are there any comments or questions? Okay. We're now on to the election of officers for 2026. Board bylaw 9100
states that the board will elect a president, vice president, and clerk from its members and appoint the superintendent as secretary to the board and Nominations for or volunteers are now open for president. Okay, go ahead, Mr. Scott. >> Yeah, I uh would like to nominate Sonia Sh for president and hoping she would like to continue and doing an awesome
job. And actually at the same time I don't know if it's possible I'd like to motion that uh we keep the current positions and even the assignments the same okay with that Mr. Mic is on. Good. Okay. Okay. So, there's a nomination on the floor and then there's also a mo well an emotion. Which one do you want me to
handle first? I believe he was wanting the slate to remain the 2025 slate to remain the same as along with the um organization representatives. >> Okay. So, he asked for it to be moved. Can he have a second? >> It's by consensus. If there are no objections, >> no objections. Nothing on the board. >> That's it. >> Okay.
That's bypassing bunch of stuff. Okay. So, caring nothing further. These are declared closed and everything remains the same. Okay. Yeah, I got that. I just had to bypass all your other beautiful paperwork. Okay. Now, may I have a motion to appoint the superintendent as secretary of the board? I'll move it. Second. Mr. Cervantes. Thank you. No, it's not failing. Motion. Okay.
Sorry. Board members, please register your vote. Wonder if one more. Okay, there we go. And the motion passes with a vote of five to Z. Congratulations, Dr. you you remain the secretary of the board. Thank you board members for your willingness and time to represent the district at all of our local agencies. And thank you Sean for joining the team
and we're excited to again officially have you on this year and thank you for taking everything that you did the last time. I'm glad you get to remain in those positions. Okay, now on to communications. We'll start with our Sean Smith. >> Okay. Um, something that we didn't even make an announcement about and Dr. I think you had some data for us on
this, but we like to bring up the where we are in the top 30 best school districts in California rankings. So, where we came in and then I believe you did some numbers on uh where we came in per capita income. We have some data on that if you'd like to share that mind. We're excited to share that Chino Valley
Unified School District is one of the top school districts that has ranked number 21 in California. And when we take a look at when we take a look at the percentage of unduplicated student populations which include the percentage of English learners, lowincome and foster youth only. we would rank number one in California of the best performing school
district which was uh evaluated based on test scores, graduation rates and student results on advanced placement exams. >> Awesome. Thank you. So there there there was a comment earlier about focus on education and I believe that we're doing quite well there. Right. Um, also with regard to the Lopez family, uh, okay, we're looking at Okay. And we're
going to do what we can for sure. Last week, there were a couple of parades. I don't know. We'll make sure that, of course. So, last week there were a couple of parades. I don't know if anyone got to attend, but there was the the boat parade on Friday. Uh that was a lot of fun. I was working as a COP that night.
Uh and I got put off into a side street, so I didn't get to watch too much of it. Um but I did get to hear it and see quite a bit of it um off in a distance. That was a lot of fun. And then the next day, we did the the Chino Youth Christmas Parade and Fair on Saturday
the 13th. We had a fantastic horserawn carriage that was a lot of fun. Um, you saw so many friendly faces. A couple not so friendly, but mostly friendly. Um, not so friendly or less than a percent of a percent, let me put it that way. Um, and while the majority was overwhelming and clear support, even calling out support from the crowd,
there were a lot of supporters of this board and the work this board does. Um, there there was one particular detractor that was making some interesting comments even like following following us camera and everything like that. And it was this comment that was uh stop attacking queer children and over and over camera stop attacking queer children. Stop just these
something to that effect. And this is one of those of course just this insane hyperbolic comments that come from particular group of people. You know, similar to the the book banning and the forced outings, all of these statements that are so far from the truth if you really look at it, no one is attacking any children. Why would
anybody even say that no one's attacking children in this district? But what I got to think thinking about is where you would have to be to even to make these comics, right? What what kind of awesome You would have to have this sense of entitlement and privilege that you would have to have to think that you when you're not granted exclusive
privileges, exclusive privileges infringed on the rights of others. Let's put it that way. You consider that as an attack, right? Where in your life must you be to where if you're not granted these privileges, you think you're being attacked? It's kind of an interesting thing, you know. I ex I expect these exclusive privileges that you grant me that infringe on your
rights and if you don't grant them, I'm going to clutch my pearls. How dare you not grant me these privileges. You know, you're you're now attacking me, right? I I want my my children to read or I want kids to read pornographic material. And you say, "Yeah, that's that's not right. We're not going to let that happen." By
the way, it's also damaging to the kids' brains to let that happen. And then I say, "Oh, how dare you? You're attacking me." This this kind of mentality, you know, really, what kind of awesome world that you would have to live live in where all your boxes are checked, all your needs are met, all your materialistic desires are covered for
you to think that you need these exclusive. Again, it's not inclusivity that's being asked here. It's exclusive. It's exclusive privileges that are being asked, not inclusive. Everyone's included in this district. No one's attacked. No one's being attacked. It's a silly silly comment to make. So, I don't know. My advice would be to maybe there's this term this steelman
argument. When you you take the other person's perspective and you try to make it the best the best debating points that you can against your own arguments, you steel man, not a straw man. the opposite of the straw man. So, I don't know. I would just suggest that maybe if you're going to be making these comments, you're just going to look
silly. You're going to look silly these comments because they're so far from the truth, so far from reality that reasonable people aren't going to buy it. They're just going to they're just going to think you're being silly, right? So, maybe look at some Charlie Kurt videos, maybe rest in peace, and look at his debate his debate mannerisms, the logic and reason. He
doesn't spit out, you know, [snorts] hyperbolic sentences. He doesn't he doesn't do ad hominant attacks. He doesn't do any of these silly straw man arguments. He sticks to the logic and reason. Try it. It works really well. So, on to the the better stuff, I think. Unfortunately, Chandler Hills High School lost to Pacifica, ending uh 4224, ending the season 103. Great season.
The uh man, the the games that I saw were suspenseful. They were fantastic. Nailbiters. Uh I invite everyone to go catch a game next season. Um as Phoenix pointed out, we and these were things that I got to attend, which was great. The WBA California Grand Championships, Chino Hills High took second place. Just a fantastic performance. This is in
the entire state. It was uh the everyone came from all around. Great performance. So congratulations to Jonathan Proes, Romero Sanchez, Chad Hartman, Carla Hernandez, and the rest of their teams. That was fantastic. Oh, not to mention that Ayella took fourth place. So congratulations to Tims, Cal Martinez, Gabe Escobido, and Jessica Rico, and their respective teams as well. Don Lugo
finished 16th in their category. And we have high hopes for Don Lugo. They're gonna they're gonna be making a comeback. I remember years ago when my eldest daughter was in Color Guard, I watched a fantastic Don Lugo performance. And one of the things I love about these performances is when you could tell the story behind it, when
you could see what's happening. Don Lugo at that time, it was five years ago at this point, had a great story be behind their whole performance. So we got you're going to make a comeback. Um, Townsen. I made it to a Townsen concert. We welcome uh, Ms. Madson, a new music teacher at Towns in. She did a fantastic job. Great concert as well.
And of course, the uh, the choir led by Mrs. Rutherford, one of my favorite, hardest working people in the entire district. I watch her all the time. It's amazing how this woman runs back and forth between two schools and just puts in an amazing amount of work and really shows in the performances. It's great. Um, one of the things I did notice and I
wanted to bring up Dr. Anfield was the calendar situation, right? Our district calendar doesn't show all these great performances that are going on. Is there any way that we can kind of create some sort of consolidated >> Yeah, we'll go ahead and take a look at that. >> Yep. >> Okay, that'd be fantastic because the staff and our students are amazing.
I mean, the amount of work that these kids and the staff put into these programs, it is I mean, I'm I'm in awe, frankly. A lot of times when I'm walk watching the staff and these kids work late into the night, 9 9 to 900 pm on a Saturday, right? To make these performances so that you know we
can enjoy it, right? So anyway, um just wanted to share that with everybody. Try to catch a a school performance if you can and I wish everybody a merry Christmas and a happy new year. >> Thank you, Mr. Smith. Mr. Knock, >> it's on. Okay. I also like to thank uh tonight our uh great teachers and staff members again this year. We
have been chosen as a top school district in our region and it can't happen without our great teachers and great staff members. Someone mentioned about Pastor Jack tonight, one of our speaker, but just a few weeks ago he said something like this. The church cannot exist without people in it. It's the people who are the church. It's not the
building. It's the same thing with our school district. Without our students, we cannot have schools. And without our teachers and staff members, we cannot have a district buildings. It is you. Each one of you represent our school district. It's not the building. So thank you for teachers. We have a younger teacher and also we have a senior teacher who have given all your
life fight for the well-being of their children. Uh you guys are just great great beautiful people. And I'd like to ask Dr. Enfield to uh have our staff talk to our parent there with children um at Oakidge that who had concern. >> Yeah, they already are aware they will be contacting. >> Let's let's do our best to to make kids
happy. Uh it's not about us, but it's about them so that they feel good. of being in school and being in with our school district and when they grow up that memory will go long way and that's what we want to do and second I also like to um thank those people that who work so hard for that youth
Christmas parade in Chino Uh it was pretty cold morning in the start but people worked very very hard and I had invited uh uh Donnie Shenko as a special guest. I know he's retiring coming year but um he also had given his life for our children. Um in this life Our great heroes are not in movies and not
in those books that we have read and surround us. Maybe is at your home. Maybe in your next classroom. Those are your true heroes and those are true blessings to our lives. So let's remind ourselves of those blessings. that that we have received in this Christmas season and and let's continue to share those loves to our children in
coming year. Thank you so much and merry Christmas to everyone. Thank you. >> Thank you Mr. No one >> and Mr. Puce. So, where is Jameson? Jameson. Hey. High five. Hey, I want to go to Oakidge, too. I want to be a bus driver taking the kids over there. So, that's an awesome school. You're definitely going to be going there.
Good job. Good job. And then, um, President Shaw, um, what Pennis is bringing up, she has brought this up many times. Maybe we should figure out what's going on. So maybe maybe sometime in the future maybe we can help for the GSW machina and then also um Dr. Park what you mentioned about the ranking of our school what makes our school district so
unique is that we are the most diverse soio economic compared to all those school districts. It just gives you a punch that that the LCFF has has been doing a great job when it comes to helping your students. So, it is pretty amazing what we have accomplished and reading reading the financial reports. School finances is a big part of our
school and under your leadership reading this know financially we're very solid. the first interim report, positive certification, a balanced budget in 27 and 28. So, so through the achievement of being a top performing school has a lot to do with our finances and also at the same time our home value as well. So, thank you for your department, the
success that you have been doing. So, thank you. And and two weeks ago, I I did my 5K and uh I was ranked six in my group and um I I enjoy those runs and they have three of them within the year. So the next one will be Rust run on February 7th to February 8th. So So when
it comes to running, I really enjoy running. So that's good. So lastly, give thanks for another opportunity to serve the awesome students and families of Chino Valley. Thank you. Merry Christmas. [clears throat] >> Awesome. Thank you, Mr. Cruz. and Mr. Cervantes. >> Hello everybody. Uh, thank you again for being here tonight. Okay, there we go. Thank you everybody
for being here and you could be a lot of different places, but you're here tonight and we appreciate that. All you speakers appreciate everything you have to say. Lopez family, thank you for coming. Your wonderful children well spoken and uh we hear you. Receive that email as we're here at the meeting. look at that. We'll do everything we can. We
appreciate your comments and and your information you provided. And couple of things real quick. Uh just looking at education, this first part, and matter of fact, going back for years now, just knowing that we're a top performing school in our region. If you take that and you look at the per capita data that was researched, we'd be number one, right?
And that says a lot. It's like you look at sports, you know, we're a small area competing in a D1. I mean, that's that's where we're at. So, when you look at that, we're we're doing fantastic firing all cylinders. And then looking at our interim financial report, that positive report, that takes a lot of work, a lot
of uh wisdom, having that fiscal responsibility to look at how things are going to budget out, where money can and cannot be spent. We can't just have anybody doing that. And so, we have a lot to be thankful for and proud of. I uh I'm so uh extremely proud to be sitting here and uh be part of this
team. So I want to thank everybody, our uh superintendent, our associate superintendent, our cabinet, our directors, our principles, our coordinators, our teachers, all of our departments, our security support staff, our students, our parents. We're one unit, one team. We have to be cohesive. We're doing everything we can. firing on all cylinders and uh just want to wish
you guys all a merry Christmas. We have so much to be thankful for. Uh got to see so many uh lot of people, a lot of community coming together for the make a child smile that was took place last week. I mean it's awesome when you see how excited the kids are and then be part of the parade. We got to all be
part of the parade. The whole port there on uh this past Saturday on the 13th. See a lot of the community come together. That's what this is all about. We have to look at the big picture, look at, you know, why we're here, why we serve our community, what service really means. And uh so this Christmas, you know, I pray that
all you get everything you want for Christmas and uh Amanda brought it up a little while ago really like the reason for Christmas. We really got to sit back and think about that reason. A gift isn't a gift unless you receive it, right? So I hope that all of us take the time to really look at what Christmas is
all about. There was a gift given, but it's not a gift that we don't receive. We have to take our part and responsibly to receive that gift. I pray all you guys get to look into that and find out what that gift is and hope you're extremely impressed. Bless this Christmas and moving on and looking forward to seeing you all next year.
Thank you so much. >> Thank you, Mr. Cvantes. Beautifully said. And Superintendent Dr. Enfield, >> Mr. Cvantes, I want to thank you for that motion. That was absolutely genius. Thank you. Um I also want to thank the staff across our district for the first half of the school year. Uh 2025 the start of the school year started off strong and we've
done a really across the district have done phenomenal work from August. Well, I know we started July 1st, but kids come back in August all the way up until today. We've done a great job across the district and that's a testament to the staff and the people who run this district. So, thank you for everybody uh that that helps our students be
successful and keep them safe every day. I want to wish everybody a happy holiday, merry Christmas, and may everybody have a wonderful 2026. >> Awesome. Thank you. Thank you. I will make it short and sweet. Um, as I look out in the audience, I just want to take a quick moment and I would like to close in memory of my dear friend Jerry Row.
But not seeing him here, it's pretty hard. He's been at every meeting since we were like just parents fighting to have a voice at the table. Um, cheering us on, giving us crazy cool ideas. Um, so seeing him here tonight, it sucks, but we know he's with our heavenly father and I pray that he's just there celebrating. I know he would
be giving me the biggest hug at being the president again. But to me, it's not even the title. It's the honor of just being able to be the voice for all of our members up here and our district. I take it very seriously. Um, I appreciate every single thing that you guys do and I would make sure you guys are all
accounted for. So, not seeing Jerry here sucks, but I know he'd be celebrating with us, whether it's cutting a piece of cake when a new board member gets sworn in, which we still need to give you a cake next year. Um, we'll bring you one, Donnie's chocolates. Um, but as I look out, I just want to thank all of you. Thank the
parents. Um, no matter what, you know, what concerns you bring, whether they're ones I agree with or not, I just thank you that you're here. Lopez family, thank you. um showing your humility and just showing your vulnerability tonight, just giving your story. Um we all go through struggles in our lives and just seeing the testimony of the things that
you mentioned like simple things like the hope center and how they're playing a part with your family. Um that really hits hard because those are the things that we truly care about, want to support, and ensure that we're all working together with our great cities, Chino, Chino Hills, and then partial. We can't forget Ontario because they're always sometimes not spoken of, but that
our district is amazing. They do amazing things. Um, unfortunately, I'll keep saying it, the state fights against districts like ours, but I am so grateful our district pretty much tells them to go pound sand somewhere where the sun doesn't shine. So, um, with that said, I do want to say something that we've been in a big fight for a while
because it drives the ideology does drive a lot of things that affect our kids here, including the curriculum, teaching. We don't we focus on curriculum. That's why our test scores, even in California, we're thriving. I mean, our schools, regardless of what people say, are safe. We don't want to create an environment also where adults who shouldn't be around our kids thrive,
right? We want to create an an environment where adults like the ones that are in the audience and our teachers that come here and care and out of their own time. Um, you know, they thrive and and we meet them where they're at to get them what they need in the classrooms to make sure our kids have a future and success. That's the
things that I get excited about as a mother. I never imagined being up here this many years. I never even imagined being up here. But the fact that we have five members supporting a district like ours and ensuring that the great people can do what they do, hey, throw the slings and arrows because I know my almighty God blesses us with everything
that we're cursed with. So every time you do it, I just laugh and I just look up and say, Lord, I know that's going to be a blessing and thank you. I do want to before I end with some Christmas cheer, I do want to say something. Christmas is coming early. Um, gratefully we have a federal government
right now that is focusing on a lot of things that drive our fight here in California. I often people say California is a lost cause. And I keep warning people, no, it's not. Look at our district. Look at our communities. Look at Chino Valley. Look at um, you know, other communities unique in Chino, but or around Chino. I know nobody's
like Chino Chino Valley. I'm just going to say we are special. Um, but with that said, Okay, I want to share something. It was from the US Department of Health and Human Services. Caption is we're so back. Men are men. Men can never become women. Women are women. Women can never become men. >> I can just do it right here
since it's my phone. Mic drop because boys are boys, girls are girls. They were beautiful in the way that God made them in their own bodies. And I will tell you right now, the curriculum, the teachings, the trainings that CTA, the unions, and the state majority of crazy leaders up there push in and try to push into this classroom. Let it be another
warning. We're not backing down. We're not giving in. We are going to fight the good fight and our kids are going to thrive and be an example to the nation of when you fight and you stand in front of kids and protect them, they are going to become the leaders this nation so desperately needs. May God continue to
bless this district. May God continue to bless America. And as we close tonight's meeting, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the spirit of this season, Christmas. It's beautiful. If I wasn't going to get sued by Freedom from Religion, you know what I would say. So, just remember, you know where to go with that message. And it's a time of family
reflection, gratitude, hope, and renewal. May the holidays bring peace and rest to each of you and your families. Thank you for your dedication to our students, our schools, our community. Safe travels, merry Christmas, and we look forward to continuing our important work together in 2026. I now close this and adjourn this meeting in memory of our beautiful
friend Jerry Row at 7:26 p.m. [clears throat] The body scanner reveals the brutal truth about your body that your regular scale will never tell you. For weeks, my scale showed I wasn't losing weight.
