significant annual recognition for student scholarships where we celebrate the generosity and commitment of community partners who make this possible. Tonight we are very honored to welcome Tim Adams from Adams Photography. For many, many, many years, Tim and his team have been a driving force behind the Julie Govin Memorial Hit, the Greens for Scholarships golf tournament, which by the way is a lot of

UNKNOWN 0:03:33

fun. If you don't sign up, please sign up next time. Um, helping raise hundreds and thousands of dollars to support CDUSD students, graduating seniors in pursuing their secondary post-secary education. We deeply appreciate Tim's dedication and continued support of our students and this meaningful cause. Tim, we understand you have a check to uh to give you the proceed proceeds from

UNKNOWN 0:04:20

the 16th annual. you said many years. 16th annual Julie Goen Memorial hit the greens for scholarships annual golf tournament. It's something I'm very proud of. We started out really small um but over time this has been a big deal for us. We're very proud to do it. Um this year's proceeds are by far the most we've ever given to the school district

UNKNOWN 0:04:42

which I'm really proud of. So, all total um over the past 16 years, if my math is right, we're sitting at $442,000 that this golf tournament has raised. So, that's pretty awesome. Yeah, I would love to stand up here and take all the credit, but um we have a whole team of people that do it. uh our

UNKNOWN 0:05:08

sponsors, our golfers, all of our uh feeder schools that um support us and and donate baskets and raffle prizes. It's unbelievable the amount of support we get for the tournament. So, um I get to be the messenger. Like I say, I get to I get to make all the promises and and our community gets to keep it. So,

UNKNOWN 0:05:29

or you guys get to make the promises, I get to keep them, whatever. Anyhow, um there's a couple sponsors I'd like to um just kind of give shout outs to. Our we had two corporate sponsors this year, uh CW Driver and Pacific West. Uh they stepped up with uh $10,000 sponsorships each, which contributes to the amount we're giving out tonight. So, anyhow,

UNKNOWN 0:05:54

our total for tonight is $41,615. um for the folks that don't know in the audience um this money goes directly to school or student scholarships um at all five schools. So really proud of that. I we couldn't do it without the support of you guys. Couldn't do it without support of the community, the businesses, the golfers. Um I want to invite everyone

UNKNOWN 0:06:23

out next year. This is it's a fun day. We get to skip work. we get to act like we know what we're doing out in the golf course and um we get to raise money for all the kids. So, anyhow, thanks for letting us do this. Uh we're in as long as you guys will have us and next year

UNKNOWN 0:06:37

hopefully we can get over that half a million mark. So, thank you. Thank you. [Applause] Yeah. I know. You guys want to move over? So the chino valley is in the middle. Sorry. Ready? One, two, three. One, two, three. Okay. [Applause] Okay, at this time we would also um we have another exciting thing. We have recognitions and at this time we would

UNKNOWN 0:08:59

like to move on to the recognitions portion of our agenda which is the time where we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students and educators and their success. Um our first one tonight we have the pleasure of honoring a group of exceptional young artists from Cal Arrow Preserve Academy. Mr. Latona, will you and your talented students please join me?

UNKNOWN 0:09:41

say a few words. Oh, yes. So, hi everybody. My name is uh Robert Latona. I have the unique privilege and honor of uh being the art teacher at Calero. We're uh this is a brand new art program this year and it's just been really booming and excellent thanks to these extraordinary young artists and all they have uh contributed. So, let's give them

UNKNOWN 0:09:58

a round of applause. First of all, and in addition to recognizing these incredible young artists, I also like to recognize and and appreciate uh my admin team that have been so supportive. We have Mrs. Warner, we have Mr. Martinez and Mrs. Alba who have been such a fantastic group of leaders to help guide us and help establish this

UNKNOWN 0:10:21

art program. Let's give them a round of applause as well. So, a little about these artists. I know we have a lot up here, but just a a brief uh summary. They've just done incredible in uh just incredible amazing work, not only as artists in their level of skill, but their level of leadership and involvement with the community and

UNKNOWN 0:10:42

also in the classroom. I had them enter various art competition and they won all the competitions that we entered. Some were very competitive up to a thousand different artists nationwide and they just were doing excellent in these different competitive um artistic environments and I'm just blown away with their achievement. Some of their artwork you can see in the city here

UNKNOWN 0:11:05

posted on different electrical boxes and you can actually see their artwork and so it's just great to recognize them for their extraordinary art skills but also their incredible academic um and also their leaderships that they demonstrate in the community. So let's uh recognize them for all their hard work guys. [Applause] All right. Uh, you want me to? That's

UNKNOWN 0:11:32

totally up to you. You can go. You want me to pronounce? Uh, yeah. I can help out, too. No, thanks. Thanks for coming and we appreciate your leadership and giving the students the opportunity and opening those doors for them. Um, without that, we wouldn't have been able to see the great things that they're doing. And students, congratulations.

UNKNOWN 0:11:47

We're excited that you're here and we're able to honor you and your hard work. Just keep up the good work. We love art and it's a big part of our district. So, thank you. Um, our first award um, recipient is Ruby [Applause] Martin. Take a picture of all Ruby. Ruby. Yeah, just come around this way. You're going to be the first. And

Next, please join me in welcoming the Ayola High School percussion as on ensemble who recently won their fourth WGI World Championship in Dayton, Ohio with a nearperfect score

UNKNOWN 0:17:48

of 99.50. Mr. Trro, I'd like to invite you and some of your students to join us at the microphone to tell us more about Iyella's outstanding artistry and championship success. [Applause] U President Shaw and board members, cabinet, Dr. Park, Dr. and Phil, thank you for having us here and recognizing these outstanding students and their uh achievements. Um it's been a fantastic

UNKNOWN 0:18:28

year, not only with uh as you know, our our percussion winning two world championships this year. Um our whole program had major success this year. Uh I don't know, our wind ensemble and our string orchestra received the gold award at their big competition and we were the only school at the event to earn the gold award. So we were happy about that.

UNKNOWN 0:18:50

as well as our uh marching band and color guard in the fall won the Bands of America California Regional Championship. So, we're uh champions for that one this year. And um we really take pride in recognizing and honoring our students and their achievements of all the program, not just our marching band, but our percussion, but our our

UNKNOWN 0:19:10

concert groups. Um, we really focus on having a very well-rounded program and we feel that's important for our students and their their music education and their arts education. Um, and I'm excited to announce uh some people know our wind ensemble will be going to Carnegie Hall this coming school year to perform again. So, and this is this is our second

UNKNOWN 0:19:34

appearance. Our string orchestra went a couple years ago and this is the second invitation for our win ensemble. So, we're excited. That's on March 25th to be exact is our concert date in Carnegie Hall. So, we'll be off to New York City uh next spring. So, um but a lot of people ask like how does this all

UNKNOWN 0:19:50

possible? How do you make all this work with all these students? And I'm I'm here to tell you all these people standing behind me um with the students, the parents, it takes a village. Yeah, you know the saying takes a village. It's absolutely true. Without the support of our parents, which we have some parents here tonight, thank you

UNKNOWN 0:20:07

parents as well as the hardworking students. You got to have parent support. Yes. You got to have without the support of the parents and our administration and the school district. Okay. All those elements. It's it wouldn't be possible without the support of all those elements. And we thank you so much to the the district for supporting us in

UNKNOWN 0:20:27

our program and our coaches and our administration at Ayala High School and of course our parent booster organization, our hardworking students. Um we're really proud of Ayala High School. We're proud of Chino Valley and wherever we go across the country or in California, we do represent our district and our school with pride and we're very excited to do that and a lot of great

UNKNOWN 0:20:47

things for next year. So, thank you for recognizing these um outstanding students. We appreciate it for you to add to your collection. Um we thank you guys for all coming and thank you for all your hard work. It definitely isn't um unnoticed and we appreciate that all you do. are there to support you and stand with you as you go

UNKNOWN 0:21:06

and cheer you on. Please send us pictures and notifications during I had one parent and her daughter graduated. So, I won't be getting those special announcements. So, if one of you wants to take the torch, we just love hearing about it so we can share it. Um, also with Andy that I would love to get those updates when you guys go on and if you

UNKNOWN 0:21:22

would like to take a picture with all of you and thank you for coming out tonight on summer. I love hearing all the hard things. Awesome. afternoon. We have our bulldogs exiting and now time for a huskys. Um, please join me in welcoming the I No, that's not that one. Next is it's my pleasure to recognize an

UNKNOWN 0:23:19

outstanding group of student leaders from Chino Hills High School alongside Michelle Coyote activities director. This year their ASB was awarded a big huge award 2025 National Gold Council of Excellence by the National Association of Student Councils. It's a first in school history and as a distinction earned by only a select group of schools across the state. Would you please join

UNKNOWN 0:23:44

me at the mic so we can honor you guys? Thank you. I don't know. I know. up here. He's trying to He always tries to hide behind. I just want to say, you know, Superintendent Enfield, school board, uh, District Cab, thank you so much for taking this opportunity to honor our leadership and ASD students at Chino Hills High School. These kids work so

UNKNOWN 0:24:20

hard to make our school look amazing and do all of the events. We just are happy to to showcase them. Uh, this national award was no easy feat. Uh I have with me our outgoing ASB president Leilani Allen who really led the charge. Um the students had to create a uh portfolio of about 26 different markers of evidence

UNKNOWN 0:24:43

uh that they have done different qualifications for this award to our admin team. I also want to thank our admin uh Dr. V who is always you know just in our corner supporting us all the way. So, we couldn't have done it without these two and we're just really proud of these students. Thank you. I do want I do want to say I appreciate

UNKNOWN 0:25:05

it and Leilani, you have been an example um as you go out into the world and and use your gifts and talented talents. Just seeing you go from a young age and just, you know, magnify and just leave that light all around. We appreciate everything that you're doing and for you to be here tonight even shows exactly

UNKNOWN 0:25:22

the leadership that you have. So, whoever's taking your spot definitely has a hard and and Phoenix, we've already warned him with the school board member, but trust me, I I I think you guys made a great team. Um, and no doubt he'll carry on the torch very well for um your guys' team. But yes, thank you for being here. Thank you for all that

UNKNOWN 0:25:39

you do. Thank you for all that you do to allow the students to shine the way they do. And thank you for um supporting them and and going to bat for them when they need um those opportunities to be able to shine. So, thank you for being here. Thank you for your guys' time. It's just a small token um of our appreciation.

UNKNOWN 0:25:53

But here, thank you for all that you do. And then of course, if we can get a picture with you guys. Thanks. Let's give them one more round of applause for the incredible student leaders of Chino Hills High ASB for this remarkable achievement. Thank you guys. And of course, they already left, so I don't have to say it. Um, and finally, I

UNKNOWN 0:27:24

would like to invite Doug Bowen to join me. Um, and before right before he does, I just want to say a few things. Um, you you can approach. Um, as many of you know, the Chino High School Music Department, led by a team dedicated at excellence, includes award-winning ensembles such as the 77th Calvary Marching Band and multiple concert

UNKNOWN 0:27:44

groups that have earned prestigious honors locally and nationally. For 32 years, Doug Bowen has been the passionate director behind these achievements, inspiring countless students to reach their full potential. His leadership has shaped a legacy of musical excellence and community pride. And today we just want to celebrate and honor Doug Bowen as he retires, which we're sad, but we are so gratefully

UNKNOWN 0:28:08

appreciative for all that he's done. And we're grateful for his remarkable contributions and lasting impact. And I'll just go down there to join you. And then [Applause] behalf of the board and the district. It's just a small token appreciation, but we wanted to honor you tonight for everything that you have done. Oh, that's very nice. And thank you so much

UNKNOWN 0:28:35

for everything that you've done. We left a legacy and we appreciate you tremendously. Thank you. Yes. Hey, thank you. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Thank you. You too. If you want your family to join too, Yeah, you're going to be up here. So, um it's been my honor to be part of the district. Um you know, I started very uh

UNKNOWN 0:30:04

in humble beginnings at Magnolia Junior High and my first band room was actually half a portable. All the instruments were broken. My uniforms, I found this box in middle floor, which was a dishwasher box, and then my uniforms were in there. So, I I really start off with humble beginnings and then the sky's is the limit. And I just had so

UNKNOWN 0:30:20

many opportunities with the kids and the Rose Parades and the championships and and just teaching music. The part I'm going to miss most is the day-to-day the light bulbs going on teaching music and all that part. That's really kind of part that's going to be the hardest part to leave. But, you know, right now everyone ask it seems like summer right

UNKNOWN 0:30:36

now. So, it's not like what's going to happen, but we still we're all excited about the future and the band's in a great place and the music department's and we have our beautiful school. That's been was kind of a neat thing to happen at the end like that. And again, it's been my honor to be part of the district

UNKNOWN 0:30:48

and I've, you know, I've I uh I used to drive by Chino, but then I got hired here and I I've never left and we're really excited about that stuff. So, as I was saying, my wife and I are be celebrating our 40th anniversary in in August, which used to be summer, but now it's after school starts, but we're

UNKNOWN 0:31:03

excited about that. So, anyway, thank you. And just we look forward to great things in the future from everything. Okay. Thank you. Absolutely. And one more time, give him a round of applause. Thank you again. Thank you. Definitely an honor. Thank you. Okay, we're now on to comments from employee representatives. Excuse me, Superintendent Netfield. Yes, we have your mic. An additional

UNKNOWN 0:31:32

report out. There's been additional report out noted for close session. After conferring a meeting with legal counsel in close session regarding board agenda item B, the board the board gave direction to council to initiate an action upon the occurrence of anticipated circumstances. The action the defendants and the other particulars shall once formally commenced be disclosed to any person

UNKNOWN 0:32:00

upon inquiry. The board voted 50-0 with Cruz no, Cervantes, Monroe, and Shaw voting yes. No further action was taken which requires public disclosure. Thank you, Patty Cakes. We're now on um to comments from employee representatives Steven Frasier, ACT. Okay, we have Evette Bookout from CSEA. Uh good evening board. I just want to say hello to everybody and thank you for

UNKNOWN 0:32:51

having us up here. CSEA does want to thank every employee of the district and thank you and hope everybody has a wonderful and safe summer. Um, as many of us do, we all wear many hats in this district. One of my pride and joy is our corporate challenge program that we do every year. Um, what is corporate

UNKNOWN 0:33:10

challenge, you ask? For those of you who don't know, the corporate challenge is an event put on annually by the city of Chino. Companies get the chance to rally their employees together as a team and compete in friendly competition with other local companies. The goal of the challenge is to promote friendship and community, a set of values that I

UNKNOWN 0:33:26

cherish dearly. I believe that fostering teamwork and strengthening the community are essential elements for propo promoting a supportive, productive and peaceful environment for all of us. And I believe it is our responsibility to encourage these traits. Um, and just so you guys know, if you didn't check your emails, we did go ahead and send out a recap to everybody

UNKNOWN 0:33:49

today with some of the different pictures and events that we had. Um, again, I do want to thank everyone who attended the corporate challenge. Your present made the event truly special and ensured the event was successful. We, the volunteers who helped coordinate this event, appreciate your time, enthusiasm, and support. We hope you found the experience as rewarding as we

UNKNOWN 0:34:10

did. If you're interested in te attending again or maybe for the first time, the opening day picnic is normally the first Saturday in May. And we want to give a special thanks out to both CSEA and Champ for donations, for food, and just all the different goodies that we got to do for um the huge picnic we

UNKNOWN 0:34:29

had on the opening day. Uh we'd hope to see some of you guys come out next year for opening day picnic. And we tell people, I had a lot of people ask because I'm CSEA, they thought they couldn't participate. I just want to remind everybody, it's anybody employed by the district, whether you're CSA, ACT, CHAMP, or anything in between, even

UNKNOWN 0:34:50

substitutes are encouraged to come out and join with us. Um, we did make these in appreciation to both CSA and CHAMP. Thank you. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you very much. And now we have Emily Laauo from CHAMP. Good evening, President Shaw, school board members, Dr. Enfield and cabinet. It's my privilege to present Champ scholarships to two remarkable students

UNKNOWN 0:35:22

whose parents happen to be um CVUSD administrators. Our first recipient is Hayden Chase. Why don't you come on up here, Hayden? and Hayden Chase will be attending UCLA in the fall. Hayden has always had a heart for helping others. From being a big buddy to a student with special needs in elementary school to comforting and calling 911 when an injured friend

UNKNOWN 0:35:48

had a serious accident, he has shown calm and strength and compassion well beyond his years. Hayden is a gifted trombone player earning spots in elite honor bands across California and he's also his high school or was his high school senior class president. So congratulations to Hayden. We're very proud of you and we know you're going to do great things. You might want to we'll

UNKNOWN 0:36:13

call you back up and we can take pictures all together. Okay. Our second recipient is Malia Rieer. Malia, come on up. Let's congratulate her. Malia grew up surrounded by educators and developed both a respect for education and a love of learning. In high school, she challenged herself with 11 AP courses and is headed to UC Berkeley. She plans on majoring in

UNKNOWN 0:36:42

environmental science and English. Her dream is to work for the Environmental Protection Agency or National Geographic using her voice and her passion to educate others in how to protect our planet. Please join me in uh celebrating and congratulating both Hayden and Malaya. We're very proud of you and excited to to honor you with this. And then you two all come up. Do you want to

UNKNOWN 0:37:09

be in the pictures? Can you humor us one more time for a commission? coming. We are now on to public comments. Patai, how many requests do we have to speak? 24. Thank you. board bylaw 9323 meeting conduct establishes the guidelines and the following process applies. Speakers will be called in the order you registered on the electronic device to

UNKNOWN 0:39:01

speak device. Your name will appear on the monitors. Please line up behind the clearly marked numbers behind the mic immediately. The timer will actually start once your name and topic is fully stated by BAI. Once the recording secretary announces the first name, request to speak will no longer be accepted. And just um for information, we do have 2 minutes per speaker according to

UNKNOWN 0:39:25

our um our graph and the timer sheets. When your name and topic is fully stated, then Mr. Cruz, will you please explain the public comment guidelines? Speakers, you have up to three minutes to address the board. You cannot donate your time. One person at the mic at a time. If you read on behalf of an absent person, that would be

UNKNOWN 0:39:54

considered your time. The time is when your name and topic is fully stated. Please refer to board policy 1312.1 for the procedure regarding complaints against an employee. The first speaker and topic is glory. The topic is non-aggenda item. Everyone in this room knows for a fact that if I did to Sonia's kids even 1% of what Sonia and her morally bankrupt

UNKNOWN 0:40:31

acolytes are doing to that poor trans kid, y'all would bring back burning crosses on front lawns, white hoods and all. This should trouble all of us because she is inviting the kind of hate and bigotry and discrimination into our district. Can I pause it? Cuz if she's going to walk away, then I want to stop speaking. Okay, I'll wait. Then we could waste

UNKNOWN 0:40:54

time the way you're wasting ours. It's legitimately becoming dangerous to our community because she's intentionally inviting the kind of hate that cost Marshia P. Johnson, Matthew Shepard, George Floyd, Latasha Harland, Khalif Browder, Bana Taylor, Ahmad Arbury, Manuel Vega, Harvey Mil, Trayvon Martin, and Tamir Rice their lives. Stop feeding into her BS because it's just that, BS. Continuing to feed into her

UNKNOWN 0:41:44

delusion that her continued actions won't have violent consequences will get a literal child hurt or worse. Thank you, Natalie Cooney. Non-aggenda item. Good evening. I'm speaking to express my deep concern over the current climate in CBUSD schools, particularly how recent board actions have impacted our LGBTQ students. As the adviser for our GSA club, I have firsthand seen the pain and

UNKNOWN 0:42:12

fear these students are experiencing. Over the past few years, the board has passed resolutions and that send a clear message. Our LGBTQ students are not welcome. The message does is doing real harm. According to the U 2024 US National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ youth, 39% have considered an or attempted suicide in the past year.

UNKNOWN 0:42:34

There are four times more likely than their peers to do so in their lifetime. Nearly half of the students have experienced bullying since this past year. These are not abstract numbers. These are our students, our children, simply asking to exist safely and treat with be treated with dignity. LGBTQ students are not outsiders. They're vibrant, engaging members of our school

UNKNOWN 0:42:56

community. They bring creativity, leadership, compassion to our classrooms and clubs. To silence, marginalize, erase them is not only wrong and weakens the entire fabric of our school system. Recently, a GSA club member was physically assaulted on campus. I was told them to report that, but they were scared. scared to speak up, scared to trust a system that has repeatedly

UNKNOWN 0:43:17

failed to protect them. And I ask you why. It's because of the culture this board has created. And it's the one of fear. Through your policies, your resolutions, your words, your silence, it has caused harm for you've told LGBTQ students that these do not matter. That political ideology matters more than their safety. This is not the role of a

UNKNOWN 0:43:38

school board. Your job is to serve students, not yourselves. I urge you to reflect on these talking points and on the impact your decisions have on real children. It is never too late to choose compassion, to leave it with integrity, and choose to make our schools safer for all students. Thank you. Adriana Cardina Sisley. Non-aggenda item. Good evening, school board and Dr.

UNKNOWN 0:44:06

Enfield. As you may surmise from my presentation last board meeting, I have more than a passing interest in the present grouping of BST students and with our regular Chino High School students, especially the ranking of GPA for BS students with regular Chino High School students. I'm here tonight to answer any questions you may have and by reading your agenda, there is no

UNKNOWN 0:44:30

progress on a solution to this problem tonight. I have been bringing to your attention this problem since May of 2023. There has been there has been no solution to this inequality. As enumerated in the email I sent you, the BST students not only have an academic advantage in the type and number of advanced placement classes, honor classes they take, they also have

UNKNOWN 0:45:01

more advanced equipment and outside workshops, seminars, etc. I can even mention a wonderful trip they just took to Washington. Can you imagine getting an actual visual of something you're learning? That is awesome. Awesome. there. Um, another thing, there's a correction to my uh, world history email I sent you. It is not a book of 2013. It's a

UNKNOWN 0:45:30

book of 2007. And the BST students don't have to take world history. Mr. Na was so nice to me two years ago after graduation at Chino High School. I mentioned we had Spanish books that were 25 years old. He got on the phone. He took care of us immediately. He took care of us. But right now, if they're

UNKNOWN 0:45:52

not taking the class, uh, US history books were also 25 years old. But because the BST students this year are juniors, Nat Natalie Cooney, Natalie Cooney, action item 2A1. I'm speaking tonight on behalf of the human rights and equity committee of associate chino teachers. I want to address what the core responsibility of a core responsibility of a school board

UNKNOWN 0:46:24

is. It's not to pass resolutions that violate state law or address issues that do not exist in our schools. The matter of trans athletes, for example, is not one affecting our districts. So why spend time and resources on it? These actions appear to be more rooted in political agenda rather than educational priorities. Instead of collaborating with educators to build a supportive

UNKNOWN 0:46:45

inclusive classrooms, these boards can focus on cultural worlds and battles. Meanwhile, our classrooms are struggling. We lack basic resources, printer ink, tissue paper, functioning printers, reliable Wi-Fi, and some students are learning in portable classrooms that are over 25 years old. You say that the your this is about protecting girls. I care deeply about that, too. The data shows one in three

UNKNOWN 0:47:08

women will experience physical or sexual assault and straight men, not trans women, are the culprits. If you care about girls sports, then fund them. Support these programs. If you talk to any of these female athletes, you will see there's a large discrepancy between the treatment of our female sports over their male counterparts. Dr. Enfield, I really do believe you're a good man. But

UNKNOWN 0:47:32

if you stand by these resolutions, put your name on them. If not, acknowledge the harm that they are doing because silence in this case speaks volumes. It's time to refocus on what truly matters. Supporting our students, our teachers, and our schools. Thank you, Natalie Cooney. On a consent item, consent. Can you give me the number? Sorry, you just put consent.

UNKNOWN 0:47:57

Is it 2B.1? It's not noted here. Okay. Is the 2B.1 part of the consent item? Because there was four of them. I I wrote down. I'm just asking for clarification. 2B.1 or would it be 3A.2? 2B is an action item. 2B.1 is an action item. I did ask for that one as well. Is that the one that we're not able to

UNKNOWN 0:48:29

speak on? I just want to know. You've put a consent item. So, you need to speak on a consent item. I understand. I'm just asking for clarification on because I put my name down four times. Is there 3 2.1 not one that's going to be discussed? It's a public hearing. Okay. I thought I'm just clarifying because I didn't know if

UNKNOWN 0:48:49

there was something we can make comments on. That's all. So I'm guessing it's a action for the um No worries. When the hearing comes, you will speak at that time. Call them separately. Okay. I appreciate I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything in con in conjunction or what you guys had wanted to do. So I just wanted a

UNKNOWN 0:49:08

clarification. So I'll go ahead and speak on the 3A 3A.2. As a proud teacher in this district, I want to take a moment to recognize the extraordinary students of our honors ASL four seniors, one who which received a president's award. Our ASL club has had the majority of this year has highlighted the ASL show which drew in

UNKNOWN 0:49:31

over 700 students. The proceeds from these event went directly to the Sandon S. Lararsson ASL club foundation. Sandin is a death alumni who went to Ayala High School was a inspiration behind the founding of the ASL program. His desire to simply was and simple and profound for his peers to be able to communicate with him in his native language. He

UNKNOWN 0:49:52

later went on to lead the sign language department at Mount Sack and his legacy lives on today which supports students pursuing their this scholarship supports students getting their career path in dev studies or ASL. This year we proudly awarded stu scholarships for six diver deserving seniors. Five of the honors ASL4 students were also recognized in the Inland Empire Foreign Language

UNKNOWN 0:50:14

Association for outstanding achievement. In fact, eight students from this graduating class are entering into ASL related fields. Three of them are also planning to minor in ASL. As a collective, our ASL 4 senior class has earned an astounding 372 college units through our program alone. Our students are embodying resilience, ambition, and excellence. I cannot be more prouder of

UNKNOWN 0:50:39

them. Rubenessa High School truly nourishes potential and it is an absolute honor to teach and learn alongside them. To their entire senior class, congratulations. Be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and enjoy every moment. You've earned it. Thank you. Christy Hurst on a non-aggenda item. I want to highlight something that everyone in this room should be very concerned about. The current budget bill

UNKNOWN 0:51:08

in DC has plans for disastrous cuts to public education. It is estimated that CVUSD stands to lose $20 million. This is not a whatif. This is the current budget bill. I am wondering why I have not seen a single board member publicly call for the federal government to support our education funding. To be clear, this is funding for feeding Chino

UNKNOWN 0:51:29

students, programs, and services for our students and special education students. These cuts do not even include the state Medicare cuts that will impact other services provided through the district. Miss Shaw, I have seen you tweet numerous times at our president, at the secretary of education, and at our state representatives about funding, but you are calling for them to cut even more. I

UNKNOWN 0:51:50

want this community to let that sink in. We are already facing disastrous cuts to our schools and the president of our board is calling over and over for the president of the United States to cut all our federal funding to all of our Chino schools. Maybe you're thinking this won't impact impact you since your child is in not one of those

UNKNOWN 0:52:11

populations, but it will impact all of us. These services will still be required, so cuts will have to be made in other areas. So when your class size is higher, when we lose our favorite teachers, when access to foreign language or AP classes is reduced, when our arts are cut, I want this community to remember Sonia Shaw is fighting to

UNKNOWN 0:52:30

cut even more. I encourage you all to reach out to your representatives and encourage them to not pass this budget bill. That $20 million cut will be disastrous to this district. Christy Hurst. Action item 2. AA1. Given the recent attention over girls sports, especially the time Sonia Shaw has spent on this one item, I would think this board wants to address the

UNKNOWN 0:52:56

top issues female athletes identify as barriers to accessing sports. Female athletes in this district have expressed their frustration with unequal access to equipment and facilities. This aligns with national data where female athletes report having fewer resources such as lower quality equipment, less funding, and inadequate facilities compared to male athletes. Many girls face fewer opportunities to participate in

UNKNOWN 0:53:19

competitive sports with fewer teams, programs, and opportunities. Female athletes face harassment from coaches and spectators. Sexual harassment and inapprop inappropriate behavior are concerns that often are not adequately addressed. Female sports are often scheduled at less favorable times, late afternoons or weekends, or given less attention than male sports, which can affect attendance, performance, and recruitment opportunities. Female athletes are sometimes pressured to

UNKNOWN 0:53:44

focus on their appearance as much as or more than their athletic abilities. This sexualization can lead to body image issues and distract from their athletic achievement. I will be emailing Dr. Enfield a resolution that addresses these concerns. I will have it to you long before July 20th. It is already ready. And according to our policy, you have 30 days to get it on an agenda. I

UNKNOWN 0:54:05

look forward to truly supporting our female athletes in this district. Ella, on a non-aggenda item, good evening board. My name is Ella Chang. As a as a player of the Ayola water polo team, I feel highly disappointed at the Ayala administration because I feel that we are not listened to. I wish we as students were provided with transparency as to why our previous

UNKNOWN 0:54:28

coaches are no longer qualified to coach us, but so far we have not received any information. Personally, I felt very supported by the previous coaching team, and they have led us to many championships, including a CIF win. I do not understand how the administration can have any reason not to hire any of the previous coaching staff that the

UNKNOWN 0:54:46

athletes recommended. We, as athletes, deserve transparency and a voice in deciding who we want as a coach. Thank you. Kalista Meyer non-aggenda item. Um, can I move this like? Okay. Um, good evening board members. My name is Kalista Meyer and I'm part of the IA High School girls water polo team. I'm here today because Coach Hammond made a real difference in my

UNKNOWN 0:55:12

life. Before him, I didn't think I would ever stay in this sport, but he pushed me and believe in me and made me feel like I actually belong on this team. I grow as a player and as a person because of him. It's hard to understand why someone who gave us so much is being pushed out. I know decisions like this

UNKNOWN 0:55:27

are complicated, but I also know that the people most affected us, the students, matter. Coach Chairman changed everything for us, and now it feels like we're being told none of that matter. Please don't take Please don't take away the only person who helped us. Believe in oursel. Thank you. Chloe Utterback non-aggenda item. Good evening, members of the board. My name

UNKNOWN 0:55:50

is Chloe Utterbach and I am an incoming junior at Iella High School as well as an active member in our community and a varsity water polo player. I am discouraged and disheartened by the decision the decision to not reinstate our coaches and athletic director. My teammates, our families, and I have repeatedly asked to have them back. Yet,

UNKNOWN 0:56:08

our voices continue to be ignored. When decisions are made about coaching staff without student input, it sends a message that our voices do not matter. A CVUSD representative claimed in the daily bulletin that this decision is quote in the best interest of the students. But how can they know what's best for us if they are not even

UNKNOWN 0:56:26

listening to us? They do not know the sport, the sacrifices we make, or the mental and physical strength it takes to play. We are the ones in the water. We are the ones that this impacts the most. So tonight, I ask please give us back our coaches and our athletic director. They know us, support us, and have

UNKNOWN 0:56:43

earned our trust. Thank you for your time. Ava non-aggenda item. Good evening board members. My name is Ava Utterbach and I'm an incoming freshman at Ayala High School. I'm here tonight to ask for your help, not just for myself, but for all student athletes and our athletic programs. This should be one of the most exciting years, exciting times of my life, but instead I

UNKNOWN 0:57:08

feel fear and uncertainty. I don't know what will happen to our water polo and athletic program. Every night, I pray that the people in charge will truly listen to our voices and make things right. I ask with urgency, please give us back our coaches and our athletic director. This is my second time standing before you, and I know most of

UNKNOWN 0:57:26

you are parents. So, I ask you, if your own child were in this position, feeling ignored and unsure of their future, what would you do? Thank you for your time. Karen, non-aggenda item. Good evening, members of the board. My name is Kieran Mulqueen. I stood here at the last board meeting hoping the issues would be resolved and that I wouldn't

UNKNOWN 0:57:47

have to speak again. Today, my parents received a notice from the coaches that they were not considered to return as head coaches for our girls water polo season. This decision is deeply disheartening. It feels like the Ayala administration is not listening to the voices that matter the most, the athletes who work closely with these coaches every day. When these when those

UNKNOWN 0:58:08

directly impacted by these decisions are ignored, it sends a message that our voices don't matter. We deserve to be heard and respected in decisions that affect our team and future. Please show that our voices matter by bringing our coaches back. Thank you. Nandar non-aggenda item. Good evening members of the board. On March 12th, 2025, coach Tony DeMarco emailed you a

UNKNOWN 0:58:33

letter titled a cl a message of clarity and closure. He had planned to resign quietly, but after false and damaging rumors, he spoke out. His story mirrors what um our water polo boosters and coaches have endured. Changed the name, and it's the same narrative. On on May 20th, athletic director Warren Reed resigned, stating he could no longer

UNKNOWN 0:58:54

lead with integrity under the current circumstances. Just two days later, Charter Oak 80 Dominic Ferrar called the resignation deeply concerning and praised Mr. Reed's unmatched character. Then on May 23rd, I Ayala athletes and families nearly from every sport stood united outside Ayala peacefully demanding answers, their coaches, coaches, and Mr. Reed's return. This isn't isolated. It's a pattern at IALa

UNKNOWN 0:59:23

with no accountability from administration. I'm asking this board to initiate an independent investigation. I've provided printouts, articles, emails for your review. And to all the district parents and students watching, please message our board and show your support to our athletes and our athletic director. Thank you. Lisa G. Non-aggenda item. Miss Shaw, how nice for you to stay for my speech tonight. I'd like to

UNKNOWN 0:59:55

point out that the past four times I've spoken at these board meetings, Miss Shaw has walked out as soon as I approached the podium. How sad that our board president doesn't have the courage to hear from constituents who disagree with her. I don't recall board members walking out on you when you screamed at them over statemandated rules during

UNKNOWN 1:00:14

COVID. That's because they were professional and respectful enough to know that listening to the community is perhaps the most important of the job of important part of the job a school board member is elected to do. Moving on, I know that this board likes to tout its transparency, so I'm surprised that none of you have mentioned that the lawsuit

UNKNOWN 1:00:34

you filed last year against the governor, attorney general, and state superintendent of public instruction over the Safety Act was dismissed by a federal judge last month. I should mention that this board filed the lawsuit in such a hurry that you blatantly violated the Brown Act by failing to give the community an opportunity for public comment. And now

UNKNOWN 1:00:52

you are planning your appeal again without listening to the taxpayers whose money you're spending. You like to say the Liberty Justice Center is representing the district pro bono. But we all There you go again. But we all know that a lot of money and resources that should be used in classrooms are instead going into legal fees that they

UNKNOWN 1:01:10

don't cover. In fact, this district has spent over a million dollars in legal fees so far this school year, far above what a district this size should be spending. And now you want to throw even more money at a losing case by appealing. We know your ultimate goal is to generate publicity and rile your base by trying to win back the right to force

UNKNOWN 1:01:29

teachers to forcibly out transgender students. When does this board plan to do what you are elected to do, which is to focus on education? And to members of this community, if you think your taxpayer money could be better spent in our classrooms than on lawyers, I invite you to join Chino Valley's Chino Valley Defenders of Public Education,

UNKNOWN 1:01:49

please. Patty C on a non-aggenda item. [Applause] Hello, my name is Patty Kabata and I wanted to clarify a lot of lies that have been spreading through social media and through different publications, left-leaning publications. So, I was at the track meet where Miss Sonia Shaw has been accused of all sorts of horrible things. I just wanted to clarify the

UNKNOWN 1:02:19

fact that Miss Shaw was approached by AB Hernandez's mom. And I say that because I was standing next to her. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture the whole thing. I started recording after the fact. His mother is a bully. His mother, prior to going to Miss Shaw, had come up to me when I was there by myself and she approached me with

UNKNOWN 1:02:41

multiple people. And the reason why I'm here telling you this is because it is not right that a false narrative is being spun against Miss Shaw when another individual clearly started an argument but is being made to look like Miss Shaw is attacking a child. And I also encouraged this board to open an investigation to all the left-leaning

UNKNOWN 1:03:06

publications that contender that continue to slander Miss Shaw with words like stalking and fetishes because that's defamation of her character. It it's not just those words are a reflection towards your district. Those are strong accusations and those words should not be looked at lightly. So the fact that left-leaning publications, I also encourage you to look at the different orgs, a lot of

UNKNOWN 1:03:37

them are nonprofits and they are also held to different rules. They are not just allowed to slander people because they feel like it. politics have crossed over into a lot of these orgs that make false accusations against me. Sara Omari on a non-aggenda item. All right. Good evening. It's been a while, but some things uh stay the same.

UNKNOWN 1:04:06

So, I just want to recognize this board and congratulate you on the consistent branding that you continue to show. Whenever given the opportunity to p push misinformation, disinformation, halftruths, lack of transparency, or implement activities half-hazardly, you are more than a willing participant. Case in point tonight, the agenda that you printed out for those to take physical copies from outdated, not the

UNKNOWN 1:04:28

amended agenda. And missing from that agenda is the uh lawsuit regarding the DOJ letter that you voted on in close session. Also wanted to lift up in terms of half truths. The letter that was included in the amended agenda is only part of the communication. You included the DOJ letter which there's still not transparency on how you include certain

UNKNOWN 1:04:49

bits of information from close session or not. That's not really consistent. So uh to clear up that information want to read into public record. Again, you can do a public records request if I can't make it through the letter in the time. Um, the letter that was sent from the California Department of Education dated June 3rd after the DOJ letter was sent.

UNKNOWN 1:05:07

So, dear county and district superintendents and charter school administrators, update regarding compliance with equal protection clause of US Constitution. We understand that you may be in receipt of a letter from the US Department of Justice, Office of Civil Rights. Um, I'm going to do an a bridged version just since we don't have time. The DOJ assertions are not in

UNKNOWN 1:05:25

themselves law and the letter by itself cannot be an enforcement mechanism. The letter does not announce the passage of any new federal law. In fact, the CIF policy that the DOJ letter refers to reiterates California law, which protects students from discrimination based on gender identity and which requires that students be permitted to participate on athletic teams that are

UNKNOWN 1:05:44

consistent with their gender identity. Again, skipping through as we review the requested certification, we want to assure you that the California Department of Education and the LEAs in our state that receive federal funds have already provided the requisite assurances to funding agencies that programs and services are in compliance with the US Constitution. Isabella on a non-aggenda item. Good evening, President Good

UNKNOWN 1:06:22

evening, President Shaw, members of the board, and Superintendent Enfield. I stand before you as an area resident, and I'm appalled by the darkness that has taken over public education for decades now, but never with such intensity, degeneracy, and wickedness. The battles that that have plagued schools are not right versus left, conservative versus liberal. No, this is a spiritual battle that has has to be

UNKNOWN 1:06:49

fought until evil has been thoroughly defeated and children can once again be children. For too long, adults have become too complacent, and many have repeatedly aligned themselves with forces pushing vaccine mandates, gender affirming nonsense, and now boys pretending to be girls wanting to dominate female sports. In other words, mediocre male athletes competing and winning against girls and stealing

UNKNOWN 1:07:16

trophies and titles that they would otherwise not attain in male only sports. This is nothing more than a mental delusion and should be treated as such. I am pleased to be watching our school board push back against this radical and evil agenda that is being pushed and funded by the medical and pharmaceutical industry which is making money off the backs of vulnerable

UNKNOWN 1:07:38

students being groomed into this gender confusion. When common sense returns to our nation, and it will, we will look back at these last years and with horror and regret that we did not stop it before it grew out of control. This is an 8020 issue and I will be backing Sonia Shaw for her run for California State Superintendent for

UNKNOWN 1:08:04

public instruction. Thank you. Oscar on a non-aggenda item. All right. Good evening board. Um, one of your speakers earlier uh mentioned that um as far as girls sports, girls have less opportunities. Girls are are underfunded. You know, there's less, you know, less u opportunities for them. And I agree with that. I think it's true. This is why I think it's important that

UNKNOWN 1:08:33

we don't allow boys to play against girls. Um there was a boy that came out of Arupa Valley the IE just down the street and he actually actually played here too but he played for Arupa and he took gold in two in two track medals two track you know events CIF so CIF is violating federal federal law which says

UNKNOWN 1:08:52

in Title 9 you've got to identify people by their sex not by whatever delusion whatever the child was groomed groomed into being whatever whether a parent whether somebody at school you know somebody an educator it doesn't matter hood. So, Title 9 protects girls sports based on sex. It's a federal law, right? So, California made up their own law,

UNKNOWN 1:09:12

which we know that federal law trumps state law, right? So, if Trump is saying that you're going to lose funding because you're violating federal law, it's true. And if uh somebody also mentioned, we're going to lose funding. Well, we lose funding. We're losing funding because CIF is breaking the law. I don't care what what news I don't care

UNKNOWN 1:09:29

what California says. It's federal law. It's constitution. They're they're they're girls. There's nothing. They look at as a transgendered child. You're born you're not born in the wrong body. Anybody that tells a child that you're born in the wrong body or that you feel a certain way, you must be a different sex, that's a groomer, right? That's

UNKNOWN 1:09:46

that's what a groomer is. You're grooming a child into a lie, right? So no, we're born in the wrong body. So So we should support women in sports. Make sure that boys are not in there because we know that this boy from this area took two goals out of three. So took two goals, right? That means he had an

UNKNOWN 1:10:01

advantage. Whether it's a 1%, it doesn't matter. The 1% will beat most of our daughters, if not all of them. And I got girls. I got four of them. Thank you. God bless you. Ryan Shabana on a non-aggenda item. Hello, my name is Ryan Shabana. I'm a 2025 graduate from Ruben Siola High School. I am a three-year water

UNKNOWN 1:10:22

polo player and a four-year swimmer as long with a as long as a 4year USB student. I'm here today to discuss the obvious issue with the current administration at Iola High School. Over the past four years, I I have watched as our school culture has severely declined due to administrative intervention within our USB programs and athletics. As a USB student, I witnessed Yar Boy

UNKNOWN 1:10:44

use chat GBT as a means to discover any problem with a Peanuts rally theme, almost resulting in denial of a theme due to lack of representation. I have witnessed her cancel and change events based off singular complaint emails or an Instagram account made by a student, such as our homecoming this year change two weeks before. I have

UNKNOWN 1:11:05

witnessed her remove USB's right to put the word or in verses on posters because she believes it promotes segregation instead of competition. It's time for us to face the real world where competition is encouraged and decisions aren't made off of one complaint. Due to our admin, we are losing our athletic director. We are losing our coaches that taught us

UNKNOWN 1:11:23

how to thrive in our sports. Throughout my four years, I have witnessed on multiple accounts students in our USB class saying that they would rather quit the continued deal with the intervention of our principal. I have witnessed students transfer schools to participate in other sports programs after their coaches no longer could stay at IALa. During my time in the USB class, I was

UNKNOWN 1:11:42

under supervision of five different activities advisers within the four years I was in the class. This is almost unheard of for a USB program. Three of these activities directors left the school due to ultimatums or the lack of desire to work under Diana Yaroy. Because of our lack of a steady adviser, our class has not won the castle award

UNKNOWN 1:11:59

after maintaining it for multiple years in a row. So board, I ask you to look around at all the people here today to understand the fact that the IALA administration has poorly affected the student culture. Students succeed with the ability to have extracurriculars where they are supported not only by their peers and their coaches. Alana Hernandez, non-aggenda item.

UNKNOWN 1:12:26

Hello, my name's Alana Hernandez. Sorry, can't really reach. Oh, can I really? Oh, thank you. Sorry about that. My name is Alana Hernandez and I'm an athlete at Ayala. I'm speaking tonight not just for myself, but for my teammates, for my coaches, and for everyone that's been affected by what's happened. When our coaches and athletic director were let go, we didn't just

UNKNOWN 1:12:53

lose the staff. We lost members, mentors, leaders, and people who we truly cared about. These are people who stayed late after practice to talk to us when we were having a bad day, who pu who pushed us to do better, not just for our sport, but for our life. They created a safe space, a second family, and they gave us something to look

UNKNOWN 1:13:13

forward to every single day. Since they've been gone, they things have just been off. The energy is different. Our motivation has taken a hit. Practices aren't the same. Some athletes are some of my athletes are even questioning about like their future with Ayala. They want to transfer. And I don't think that's right at all. We've lost more

UNKNOWN 1:13:31

than just structure. We've lost trust and connection that has made us proud to represent our school. As an athlete, I can tell you we don't just play for wins. We play for the people beside us and the people who are leading us. Right now, we feel like that the leadership has been taken away without a good reason. And it's not just for affecting

UNKNOWN 1:13:49

our It's not just affecting our performance. It's affecting our spirit. We need these coaches back. We need this athletic director back who fought for us, who showed up for us, and who believed in us. They helped build a special place here, and it's falling apart. I'm not asking. I'm pleading with you to listen to the athletes, to listen

UNKNOWN 1:14:06

to the voices, and to the listen to listen to the students you serve. Take action and rehire our coaches, please. That's all. Thank you, Susanna [Applause] Cisneros. Good evening. I'm I'm behalf of my son, Anio Piaawa. Um this is his first year at um Ayella High School and he kind of felt not in place and um he

UNKNOWN 1:14:34

went out for water polo as someone suggested and he went and he loved it and he um definitely uh I saw a difference in him in the first two weeks. I didn't I was a little worried a little bit being a mom having a child in high school this first year. it's kind of the unknown and I really saw and you

UNKNOWN 1:14:53

still grow and uh coach Hammond really helped him a lot and I was water polo is a a new thing for me. I was in basketball in high school, but uh water polo was for Anio and he loves it and I've seen a difference and I'm here today to um on coach Hammond. feel like he's really made a difference in my

UNKNOWN 1:15:13

son's life. Uh being positive um him being enthusiastic about school and I just would um I'm here today just to uh hope you guys will reconsider uh having Coach Chamman come back and uh just uh I just see there's a big unity at at the school and the water polo and everything's just new to me as a like I

UNKNOWN 1:15:35

said as a a new parent at Ayala. But everybody's very friendly and I'm just hoping that you guys will reconsider and uh having co-chairman come back. Thank you. Roger Pallayio on a non-aggenda item. Hello uh President Shaw. Um Dr. Anfield. Um thank you for the opportunity to speak. My name is Roger Palio and I'm a parent at Lidle

UNKNOWN 1:16:02

Elementary here to express concern about the recent decision to reassign President Principal Graham. This change was announced with little notice or explanation, leaving families confused and concerned. She has been a strong and trusted leader at Lidel and and her sudden transfer has raised important questions about the process and reasoning behind the the decision. In an email to Dr. Anfield which I also copied

UNKNOWN 1:16:26

you all as well. I asked for the following a clear explanation of why this transfer was made and how it supports lidal students. Clarification on how board policies 01000.14113 found on your website and education code 51101 which stresses transparency and family involvement were followed. more information about Miss Han's background, leadership style, and vision for the school, and a commitment

UNKNOWN 1:16:51

to provide a transparent, inclusive decision-making process going forward. To demonstrate how deeply this matters to our community, I also submitted a petition signed by over 400 parents, staff, and community members. I would like to formally submit this petition for the record. These concerns remain unresolved, and I respect respectfully uh urge the district to address them clearly and fully. Trust between

UNKNOWN 1:17:15

families and our schools depends on openness, transparency, and meaningful engagement. Thank you. [Applause] Thank you. No more speakers. Okay. Thank you to all our speakers. Um we're now on to changes deletions. Patricia, are there any changes or deletions? The following changes on the agenda. Item 3E1, certificated personnel items, pages 108 and 109, delete the portion appointment extra duty sports

UNKNOWN 1:17:45

2025 2026 school year. There are no further changes or deletions. Thank you, Petia. Now we're on to action items. The first item is 2 A1 resolution 2024 2025-77 title 9 month recommends the board of education adopt resolution 2024 202577 title 9 month. May I have a motion please. Thank you Mr. Cruz. And a second. Thank you Mr. Cervantes. I

UNKNOWN 1:18:14

appreciate that. Um any comments, questions or discussions from the board members? I have a comment. Um I'm also a big advocate obviously for even when I was just a mom advocating um here in front of the podium um begging our school board at that time to please oppose Biden's uh perverted changes that he wanted to bring on Title N allowing um

UNKNOWN 1:18:41

boys into the the the girls locker rooms and sports teams. Um and to me that's where we have a problem. I will advocate all day long for our girls to have their rights and if someone wants to bring blanket statements stating that they are being violated. Um but Title N violations are taken very seriously in our district. If and I if I as a board

UNKNOWN 1:19:01

member and I'm sure the other board members find out something of Title 9 was violated and not addressed. That is something the board could address. So if someone's going to stand at the speaker put um Mike and say that so many violations and these girls are getting ripped of this that the other want to see the claims. please submit them. Um

UNKNOWN 1:19:19

because you can't just say a blanket statement without actually putting some teeth into it. So please do that and our staff will address it because Title 9 violations are a very serious violation that I definitely am very obviously passionate about. Um but I will say boys are boys, girls are girls, I will um advocate for girls rights in their

UNKNOWN 1:19:36

sports for Title 9 and I will go to bat for those girls, not to allow people who think that the boys have a right in the girls spots period. Um, with that said, I brought this forward because right now it's still a very active thing and one of our students was very deeply affected by this situation and lost a lot of

UNKNOWN 1:19:52

opportunities and struggled behind the scenes that nobody talks about. So, yes, I will continue to bat and um, CIS perverted also situation that they offered our girls to share a podium with the boys just absolutely insanity. And that pilot program should remind everybody it's a pilot program. They temporarily did that because we got to to be involved in

UNKNOWN 1:20:14

this. And um with that said, I'm excited to honor our girls, but we are not going to stop. I know as long as we have this majority of the board to fight for what's right and fight for our girls. And that's why we're declaring this month their month. And we will continue to bat for them until they win. Period.

UNKNOWN 1:20:31

Anyways, with that said, it doesn't look like any other board members want to make a comment. So, I'll go ahead and ask for your vote. And the motion passes with a vote of five to zero. And now we're on to item 2A1. Public hearing regarding the 2025 2026 budget. recommends the board of education conduct a public hearing

UNKNOWN 1:21:06

regarding the 2025 2026 budget. I now open the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. Patricia, are there any speakers? No speakers. Thank you. I now close the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. The next item is item Oh, right now is item 2 A1, public hearing regarding the 2025 2026 budget. Recommends the board of education conduct a public hearing regarding the

UNKNOWN 1:21:37

2025 2026 budget. I'm going to go ahead and allow Dr. Enfield to speak. He would like to speak for a second. After the LCAP and budget was printed, the district received feedback from the county department of ed necessitating changes to certain actions and services in the LCAP. In consultation with the county's district business advisory director, action 1.12,

UNKNOWN 1:22:01

2.19, and 3.16 will be marked as contributing rather than non-contributing. These revisions will be incorporated into the LCAP and reflect in the version presented for approval at the June 18th board of education meeting. So just to be clear too, those actions are already in there. It's just being is it a contributing or is it non-contributing? They want those to show as contributing.

UNKNOWN 1:22:30

So there's no change. It's just the wording. Thank you for clarifying that. And I will now open the public hearing at 7:21 p.m. Patunia, are there any speakers? One speaker, Natalie Cooney, on this item 2B1. I'm here to raise concern about the local control and accountability plan, especially regarding the school leadership support of teachers and fosters a safe, inclusive environment

UNKNOWN 1:23:10

for everyone. LCAP calls for meaningful engagement with educators, but too often our voices are overlooked. Teachers are not just employees. We are partners in this work. Yet, we continue to see educators publicly disrespected by members of this very board. These are certain there is recent comments directed at respected special education teachers in this boardroom as well as on

UNKNOWN 1:23:31

social media that were inappropriate and harmful. This form of public harassment when the teacher advocates for marginalized students they deserve support not attacks. Our teachers face under refunded classrooms, not having resources like tissues provided by the district, outdated facilities, and increasing demands. Instead of res of solutions, we are met with political grandstanding. For example, the board banned a safe space card that's been

UNKNOWN 1:24:01

there from 2018. It's a small symbol that greets everyone into the classroom. Meanwhile, attention is being focused on issues like trans students from other districts. While it feels like a misuse of this platform, leadership is about leading with integrity, empathy, and responsibility. And just because you can say anything you want doesn't mean you should. I ask, how will you ensure

UNKNOWN 1:24:24

leadership is truly supportive of astute art teachers? What will you do to stop public targeting of our educators? Please use your time towards the LCAP. Regarding the LCAP, all of this is highlighted within the LCAP. How to work with teachers is part of the LCAP. It is part of the what you are going to be assessed on. And how can we build an inclusive

UNKNOWN 1:24:46

school when your actions say otherwise? It is time to move forward with integrity, not hostility, with solutions, not political turning points and not things for sound bites. Thank you. I now open the public. No, we already did that. I now close the public hearing at 7:24 p.m. That concludes action items. It's okay. And now we're um moving on to the consent items. Board

UNKNOWN 1:25:24

members, if you have any items to pull, please indicate so on your monitors. Seeing that there is no um polls uh for the remainder of for actually all the consent items, may I have a motion, please? Thank you, Mr. N. And thank you, Mr. Monroe, for your second. And then can I have your vote, please register on your

UNKNOWN 1:25:50

monitors? Thank you. And the motion passes with the vote of five to zero. We are now at information items. Are there any comments or questions? Seeing that there's none, we're now on to Thank you. Thank you everyone for attending tonight. A lot of good stuff. Uh want to cover some of those things, kind of summarize them because there was

UNKNOWN 1:26:27

a lot. First of all, the Julie Gobin Memorial Scholarship golf tournament. Amazing. To get, you know, $41,615 is some change and that getting close to a half a million dollars possibly for next year is amazing. So, congrats on that. Everybody involved like to recognize again everybody from Calero, the artist team. What an outstanding uh display of leadership and

UNKNOWN 1:26:54

teamwork. That was Gella High School, their percussion, winning four world championships. Amazing. Chino Hills High School, your ASB. Amazing. Chino High School, Mr. Bon retired after 42 years of service. Outstanding. So, uh, a lot of good things. Again, we're always going to focus on education. We're going to make sure that we're looking at being the best. We continue to display that. And I

UNKNOWN 1:27:23

appreciate your comments, you guys. Whether we agree or disagree, I appreciate your feedback. We do listen to you. It's just that sometimes, guess what? We're not going to agree on everything, but I appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Yan. And now we have Mr. Hina. Um I always get excited when I see students coming to our meeting uh

UNKNOWN 1:28:00

especially uh in support of their teachers and staff members. Tonight we heard about uh athletic director at Ayala High School, Mr. Reed. He is such a great man. as we had spoke about another athletic director from Chino High School but these people are actually touching students hearts through their hard work and their service for many many years. So I would

UNKNOWN 1:28:34

like to ask our staff members Dr. Enfield uh could you please uh have a a talk with Mr. Reed, I know he has resigned and um that's his own decision, but uh just plead with them if he could reconsider just for the student's sake Anfield, Mr. No, he already moved down that road. He decided to resign from

UNKNOWN 1:29:10

that position. So the district but I'll have a conversation with him but the position is moving forward right but ask just ask them but the position is going to move forward. Yes. Yeah. I did with Chino High School also and we have to respect uh their decisions too. But just to voice the students uh support uh for you know having same

UNKNOWN 1:29:39

athletic director uh we could just plead for him for them or for the students one more time. I'm not understanding. You want me to plead to him about what? just asked that he's got lots of students came to our board meeting as to come back to on doing resignation that that's what the students want. Yeah. So just tell

UNKNOWN 1:30:07

them that u and I already had conversation with some people at Ayala and we'll still try but yeah it's hard you know when people make decisions because they have their own family plans and uh things like that but you know the kids are kids and they have love for staff members and teachers And if we're able to uh convince somehow

UNKNOWN 1:30:40

uh we should try our best. Uh and moving on um to Chino High School. Our uh teacher is fleeing that there's a concern with one classroom with old textbooks. I would like to have Dr. Enfield uh to ask our staff to look into that. Dr. Enfield. Yeah, we've already looked into it. Okay, great. Okay. Um and talking about graduations,

UNKNOWN 1:31:11

uh yes, we're done with the graduations and what a um moving moments we had. Um it was a really I would say moving moments for all of us because when you listen to our student speakers, it was such a blessing because they were able to count the small things that help helped their lives from friends from school staff members and then

UNKNOWN 1:31:52

teachers and parents. They had such an gratitude of attitude for everything what they have received for last four years in their high school experiences. and they remember all the teachers names that had given them an impact and students in their classrooms. Such a moving moment to hear. So because many times we thought business and education is a

UNKNOWN 1:32:35

uh less thankful thankful occupation but it is not. These students really have remembered and has taken into history of their lives and they will never ever forget all the love and attentions and knowledge they have received in their classrooms. So thank you for all of our teachers who had made a difference in their lives. And also I'd like to uh thank

UNKNOWN 1:33:19

um Sonia Shaw for her speech when she spoke from purely down from the mother's perspective. Not only all the audience had responded but especially the students had responded really well and that was such a great thing about her sharing her experience of raising daughter and senior in the graduation night. it really had resonated well with all the audience in the uh convention

UNKNOWN 1:33:59

center. Then in at adult school, we were able to listen to a grandma who had graduated with complete A's in her uh all classes that she had taken. and she had completely memorized her speech where she said her daughter had graduated from adult school and was able to become a sheriff in San Bruno County. And again, she said that she was

UNKNOWN 1:34:48

so grateful about our school district and teachers in her classrooms who had never said no when she asked for help. And she was a grandma graduating with straight A's in her classes. So in response, the principal Heather Post and assistant principal Thomas Hutchinson had the best I believe speech for the students about when you never give up.

UNKNOWN 1:35:44

There are the things that not only will change your life but you will change others lives through your through your actions. And when we're shaking the hands of students, you could see that some are late teens to late 60s in age. And they have all agreed that they would never give up in learning. and they have spent many

UNKNOWN 1:36:28

hours in classrooms to make sure that they'll meet that personal goal in education and that's the success of education in in my sense. Moving to other topics. Um, yes, people had talked about tonight about the CIFS and and and uh conflicts. I would like to ask um through the conversation with some of the parents, I'd like to ask Sonia Sha

UNKNOWN 1:37:11

to look into uh uh form a u parental rights commission. of looking into um achieve California education reform, focus on improving the quality of student education and safeguarding the safety of our students. Uh I think we have done it in the past. Um each of the board member will be allowed to appoint one of the commissioners and they will be able to come to our

UNKNOWN 1:37:52

board meetings and and give us an report. And second, uh, one of the our parent asked me to, uh, see if we could write a letter or do a resolution to ask CIF to consider offering a separate sport competition league for trans athlete to participate. Mr. or not. That would be co-ed and they don't want to do that. Oh, but we could

UNKNOWN 1:38:33

still send a letter or ask. Uh we actually sent letters to them. We have done that and Okay. So, we did that. So, we tell them. Okay. And lastly, um, our parent and also, uh, community member Joel Fraga had moved away from us on May 12th. He was choos um president and also he was one of leading

UNKNOWN 1:39:15

parent to support a K arrow preserve school opening with his wife Lisa Frager. So I'd like to um adjourn our school meeting in memorories of Joe Frager. Thank you, Mr. H. Is that it? Yes. Okay. Thank you. And now we have Mr. Grace [Music] Cruz, Dr. Anfield. So, 41,000 in the school portrait of that golf feed. And um Mr. Adams, he's been

UNKNOWN 1:40:01

doing that for years. And I know I know his two kids graduate from our school district and he's passionate for our school district. He's passionate for our kids. And you you would need to ask ourselves, you know, his motivation to come every year to organize this beautiful um event that happens in March or April. And um he's a beautiful man.

UNKNOWN 1:40:24

He's doing it from his heart. And I'm just Mr. Adams, he is he is an amazing person. And I I just like to honor him because he it's it's his um ambition to do this every year and just amazing. And then for Mr. Baldin, yeah, I tell you, I had so much respect for this gentleman. He is such a

UNKNOWN 1:40:48

beautiful man. Every time I would see him, I said, "This dude has dignity and respect." I mean, he was really special special for the kids. And um yeah, it's it's unfortunate that he's leaving, but you know, that's how things happen. And as for Mr. Tros with 9950, hey, you know, he he's he's he's the best at what he does. And as for

UNKNOWN 1:41:12

Latina with the Cal Art Program, excellent job. And Chin Hills with 2025 National Gold Council Award. Good job. as a parent opposed this AB727 which mandates crisis hotline numbers on students ID cards because it undermines parental rights lacks evidence of effectiveness and risk exposing our children to unverified adult interaction. Parents not the state are the rightful guardians of their

UNKNOWN 1:41:47

children's well-being. Yet, this bill bypassed their authority by directing minors to external resources without consent or oversight, eroding the sacred trust between families and schools. There's no data proving that printing hotline numbers on IDs reduces crisis unlike proven intervention like counselors at the campus, which we know works. Most alarming, hotlines like those implied in the bill have faced

UNKNOWN 1:42:18

scrutiny for connecting vulnerable youth with unmonitored adults, raising serious safety concerns. And we know we cannot gamble with our children's safety or sanction a policy that sidelines parents in faith in faith. You know, this has been going on for years. this this these policies that are really ugly for our children. It endangers our children mental health pushing the agenda of

UNKNOWN 1:42:51

elect officials with a retrobate perverted minds. These policies are anti-f family anti-god and I hope that if this passes president that we do not comply with this. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Cruz. I appreciate you bringing awareness to that. And Mr. Jonathan should be good. Uh I just want to quickly express some gratitude to everybody that continues to reach out uh

UNKNOWN 1:43:33

to me whether it's text or email or phone calls to have conversations, exchange information. Um you continue to to challenge me and hold me accountable and that makes me a better person. So I appreciate those of you that are willing to do that. Um it's been fun the last couple of weeks uh with the graduations and seeing

UNKNOWN 1:43:56

our seniors come to the conclusion of their high school years and um look to the future with such great hope and accomplishment and a joy in their families to get them there. It's been fun. and I got to take part in another graduation last night and see that um that doesn't happen with a whole without a whole lot of effort on

UNKNOWN 1:44:20

a whole lot of parts and I just want to congratulate them and their families on that accomplishment and I want to thank um all of our staff from CHAMP to ACT to CSEA um to unrepresentative our cabinet um I know you there's a lot of work behind the scenes to make that happen. Um, and I think here in Chino Valley, we do a

UNKNOWN 1:44:44

phenomenal job to push our education to a a high level to give our our kids as much as we can scholastically, sports, extracurricular. So, thank you all for all your hard work and and another successful year. Um, I do want to specifically single out a group that really isn't represented, but undoubtedly we could not uh accomplish this task without them, and

UNKNOWN 1:45:11

that's all of our substitute teachers that you rarely hear about. But, uh, absolutely answer the call every day as we need to fill classrooms. And there are those of you out there that do phenomenal job to make sure that our children stay on track when their teachers can't be there and take that job very seriously to make sure that

UNKNOWN 1:45:33

those educational minutes are still met and and offer that quality education even though their regular teacher can't be there. So, I do want to single them out um because they're they're so often kind of forgotten in the background, but absolutely couldn't couldn't uh have a successful year without our substitute teachers. Um and then um lastly, just want to congratulate

UNKNOWN 1:46:01

those that were um recognized tonight. I think it just demonstrates what I just said um about the opportunities created here and um what a a great place it is to uh to live and go to school in the Chino Valley. So um that's it. I I just want to give gratitude to everybody their hard work. I hope you enjoy summer

UNKNOWN 1:46:29

break. Lastly, you know what? Actually, one more thing. We had some retirees uh speak tonight. And and this is one of the things I want to say. There's a lot of people that are retiring this year. Um what a what a a noble uh career to retire from. And often at the end of our career, we reflect off of

UNKNOWN 1:46:49

the impact that we've had. Selfishly, when we retire, having gone through it, and John, I know you do the same. We often think that um our place of employment is going to crumble without us or we hope that it kind of crumbles without us like we're so valuable, we contribute so much because we work so hard at it and sadly we retire and

UNKNOWN 1:47:10

realize it doesn't. But what I want you to reflect on as you do this and know um the impact you created the lives that you shaped and molded and um help to obtain dreams and shape dreams and pursue dreams. Um over the uh the existence of your career, the lifetime of your career, you will never comprehend It's really

UNKNOWN 1:47:45

unfathomable um as you reflect on that on how um your compassion, instruction, encouragement as educators influence those that are in your classroom. It is one of the most powerful things. It is one of the most sacred things. It's one of the reasons why we're up here. It's one of the reasons why we try to push people to be

UNKNOWN 1:48:08

better um and try to create the great place. You will never know. Years will come where you will run into a student, you will run into a parent like we had some speak tonight about coaches and things that impacted their life. And but for that one teacher that impacted that student, you never know where they would be. Um but when you see them years later

UNKNOWN 1:48:29

and you know where they are, know that you had some part in that. And as you reflect, know that um you did your part in making this world a better place. And I thank you for your service to our community, to our school district, and I wish you nothing but relaxation and enjoyment in retirement and heartfelt thank you as you as you walk out the

UNKNOWN 1:48:50

door and enjoy your retirement. Thank you, Mr. Monroe. Dr. Enfield has no comments. Um, I'll make mine short and sweet. XX does not equal XY. Common sense will be common again, and we'll protect our district with everything that I have. And with that, we will adjourn in memory of Joe Fraga. And now I adjourn the regular board meeting at 7:48 p.m.
